M. Hazel Morcom
TWO JOHNS - M. Hazel Morcom of Two Johns, near Denton, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998 in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 79.
Born in Abington, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles August Mitsch and Marietta Earnest Schumann Mitsch.
She was a U.S. Army Nurse Corps veteran of World War II where she served as a first lieutenant and served in the European Theater.
In 1976, she retired as a registered nurse from the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J.
She was a member of the Arbutus Garden Club and was a member of the Altar Guild and the E.C. Women of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Charlestown, R.I.
She moved to Denton from Charlestown one year ago to live with her daughter, Ginger M. Howard.
Her husband, Clifford Bowden Morcom Jr., died Feb. 9, 1982.
Mrs. Morcom is survived by a son, Clifford B. Morcom III of Shutesbury, Mass.; three daughters, Anne C. Morcom of Antigua, West Indies, Sarah M. Galbavy of Pawley's Island, S.C. and Ginger M. Howard of Denton; two brothers, Lloyd Mitsch of Parker, Colo. and Walter Mitsch of Forked River, N.J.; and nine grandchildren. Three brothers, Carl Mitsch, Ralph Mitsch, and Roy Mitsch, are deceased.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Charlestown, R.I. Burial was in Fairview cemetery
in West Hartford, Conn.

Lena C. Cotton Roy
CHESTERTOWN - Lena C. Cotton Roy of Chestertown died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998 at Magnolia Hall Nursing Home. She was 102.
Born Dec. 23, 1896 in Morgnec, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Cotton Sr. and Elizabeth Gleaves Cotton.
She attended elementary school at community's one-room school house located on Joshua Chapel's church yard. Her education was limited to the third grade. She was a member of Joshua Chapel U.M.C. She worked as a "domestic" on local farms. She married
Nathan H. Roy of West Moreland County, Va. After retiring she cared for her late brother, Joshua Cotton.
She is survived by two sisters, Florence Harris and Nora Johnson; and two brothers, Blackwell Harris and Howard Newnam.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Joshua Chapel United Methodist Church, Morgnec.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Judith R. Dickerson
CAMBRIDGE - Judith R. Dickerson of Denton died Friday, Jan. 30,1998, at the Bradford House, Cambridge. She was 52.
Born Oct. 1, 1945, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late John Turner and Evelyn Mace Parks Dickerson.
She was a 1964 graduate of Cambridge High School and a 1967 graduate of Cambridge Hospital School of Nursing. She later attended Chesapeake College. She had resided in Denton since 1989, where she did nursing and taught in Caroline County.
Ms. Dickerson also was active in volunteer work, a member of First Baptist Church, Cambridge, and a former member of Women of the Moose in Cambridge.
Ms. Dickerson is survived by four brothers, John R. Dickerson, Walter S. Dickerson and Joseph M. Dickerson, all of Cambridge, and Clement T. Dickerson of Wichita, Kan.; and two sisters, Betty DePaul of Philadelphia and Dorothy Mae Parks of Woolford. Deceased are two sisters, Lillian Ann Dickerson and Mary Catherine Dickerson, and four brothers, Edward C. Dickerson, James E. Dickerson, William S. Dickerson and George Dickerson.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2, at Thomas Funeral Home, Cambridge. Burial was at Dorchester Memorial Park.

Blanche W. Donoho
DENTON - Blanche W. Donoho of Denton died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at William Hill Manor, Easton. She was 94.
Born April 4, 1903, at Laurel, Del., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Conolia Workman.
After graduating from the University of Delaware she taught school for many years in Delaware and Maryland. In 1953 she moved to Denton.
Her husband, W. C. Dorsey Donoho died in February 1978.
Mrs. Donoho is survived by one daughter, Patricia Donoho Hughes; a brother, Dallas Workman of Laurel, Del.; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 2, at Christ Episcopal Church, Denton. Burial was private.

Viola R. Harris
FORESTVILLE - Viola R. Harris of Forestville, Md., formerly of Easton, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998 at Prince George Hospital, Cheverly. She was 78.
Born April 5, 1919 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Maude Hinton Roberts.
She attended public schools in Talbot County. She was a long-time member of the former Deshields United Methodist Church, Coppersville and a member of the Samuel T. Hemsley Elks Club.
Mrs. Harris is survived by three sisters, Lucinda Powell and Adelaide Roberts of Corona, N.Y. and Elizabeth Cooper of Easton; a son, Charles O. Roberts of Forestville; a grandson; one great-grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Union Baptist Church, Easton. Burial was in Deshields cemetery, Coppersville.
John F. Kelly
EASTON - A funeral liturgy for John F. "Jack" Kelly of Easton, was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Easton.
Mr. Kelly died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at William Hill Manor, Easton. He was 84.
Born Dec. 7, 1913 ,at Towson, Md., he was he third son of the late Patrick James and Margaret Hughes Kelly.
At age 15, he graduated from Calvert Hall in Baltimore. He did postgraduate work at Boy's Latin and then graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park. Mr. Kelly was goalie on the Maryland Lacrosse team for three years and a three-time All-American. Maryland never lost a Lacrosse game with Jack in the goal.
After graduation, he began the Lacrosse program at Loyola College in Baltimore and was their first coach. He edited the Lacrosse Newsletter for more than 20 years. Mr. Kelly is in the Lacrosse Hall of Fame and was inducted into the University of Maryland's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1966.
For many years he resided at the New York Athletic Club in New York. He returned to Maryland two years ago.
Mr. Kelly is survived by an older brother, Roger M. Kelly of Oxford; a niece, Patricia K. Reynolds of Oxford; one nephew, Michael C. Kelly of Salisbury; one great-nephew; and one great-niece.
Burial was at Oxford cemetery, Oxford, Md.
