Irene B.”Granny” Gue (nee Porter), age 85, of Mt. Airy died Friday April 22, 2005 at her home.

She was born January 9, 1920 in Woodbine, Maryland the daughter of the late Ollie Porter and the late Mammie Porter (nee Green).

She was a clerk for Geico Insurance Company. Member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Mt. Airy. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She was the wife of the late James William Gue.

She was the mother of June I. Kilby of Westminster, Georgia V. Seals of Mt. Airy and Nancy A. Seals of Mt. Airy.

Dear sister of Elsie Conaway of Westminster, Myra Davis of Mt. Airy, Dollie Barnhart of Westminster, Jane Gartrell of Mt. Airy, and the late Andrew Porter, late Ruby Justice, Late Carroll Porter and late Margaret Bennett.

Loving Grandmother of Barbara Johnson of Westminster, Debbie Hartman of Westminster, Gene Seals of Sykesville, Renie Kilby of Churchston, MD and Heather Seals of Mt. Airy.

Great grandmother of Kayla, Tyler and Tessa Seals all of Sykesville and Deven, Hannaleigh Hartman both of Westminster.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday April 26, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Pastor Roger Rinker of Calvary Lutheran Church in Mt. Airy officiating.

Interment Poplar Springs cemetery

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.

Earl Robert Lowman 87, of Woodbine, MD
1917 - 2005

Earl Robert Lowman, 87 of Woodbine, MD, died Saturday at his home in Woodbine, MD

He was the spouse of the late Gladys M. Dance Lowman

Mr. Lowman was born July 13, 1917 in Sykesville, MD the son of the late John and late Martha Gasaway Lowman.

Mr. Lowman was retired from the State of MD as a Truck Driver. He served in the US Army during WWII and enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by twin sisters: Martha Cook of Woodbine and Estelle Snowdon of Winfield, Brother: Eldridge Lowman of Sykesville. Also survived by, 2 Aunts, 2 sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Doris Ridgely of White Rock UM Church officiating.

Interment will be in White Rock UMC cemetery, Sykesville MD

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory to help the family in deferring funeral costs.

Samuel Edward Wroten 88, of Ellicott City, MD
1916 - 2005

Samuel Edward Wroten, 88 of Ellicott City formerly of Brooklyn Park, MD, died Monday April 25, 2005 at Howard County General Hospital.

He was the spouse of Barbara Uzella ( Jackson ) Wroten. He was born September 2, 1916 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Charles W. Wroten and the late Louise (Adelman) Wroten.

He worked as a Production Mechanic for American Can Company in Baltimore. He w as WWII Veteran of the US Army, Enjoyed Bowling and was a member of the 300 Club, an Amateur Photographer and Model Train Enthusiast

Surviving him in addition to his wife are Children and their spouses: Barbara J. and Dave Cox of Glen Burnie, Judith A. and Dave Pratt of Woodbine. Grandchildren: D. Matthew and Colleen Cox, Jr. of New Jersey, B. Christine and Rob Overstreet of Edgewood, David H. Pratt, Jr. of Woodbine and Brian M. Pratt of Frederick. 4 great-grandsons; Gage, Shaun, Koby and Daniel He is preceded in death by Sister and Brothers: Alice Bechtel, Roy, Melvin and Charles Wroten.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday April 29, 2005 11:00 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. with the Rev. Lisa Bandel-Sparks of Lisbon UMC officiating. Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday 6 to 8 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

Robert John Lehr 17, of Unionville, MD
1987 - 2005

Robert John Lehr, 17 of Unionville, MD, died suddenly on Friday due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 9, 1987 in Farmville, VA.

He was the son of John R. Lehr of Kentucky and Belinda Doyle Burrier and spouse David Burrier of Unionville.

He attended Linganore High School as an Auto Body student in the schools Career and Technology Department. He worked at Advanced Auto Collision Repair in Frederick and enjoyed all cars in general.

Surviving in addition to his parents are Grandparents: William and Patricia Doyle of Eldersburg, Inona Lehr of Essex, Kenneth and Reba Burrier of Unionville Great- Grandparents James and Frances Doyle of Sykesville

Sisters: Rebecca Lee Lehr of Unionville, Rebecca Lynn Burrier of Unionville, Sister and Brother-in-law Cindy Smith and Brian Montgomery of Unionville.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday May 3, 2005 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD with Pastor Larry Stainer of Church of the Open Door, Westminster, MD officiating. Interment will be in Linganore United Methodist Church cemetery, Unionville, MD

1928 - 2005

Dorothy Mae Minor (nee Guess), age 76, of Westminster died Wednesday May 4, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.

She was born May 16, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of the late Oscar Frank Guess and the late Minnie Emma Guess (nee Schultheis).

She was a housewife.

She was the wife of Daniel W. Minor, Sr.

Loving mother of Daniel W. Minor, Jr., Sharon & Kenneth Harris, Francis & Vicki Minor, Stephen & Karen Minor, Sandra & Robert Hugg, all of Westminster, Barbara & Sheldon Shealer of Frederick, Donald & Connie Minor of Dover, PA, and Dennis Minor of Baltimore.

Dear sister of Robert Guess of Bel Air and Jeanette Coop of Reisterstown.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Services are private.

Mary Sue Harrison (nee Reed), age 71, of Woodbine died Wednesday May 4, 2005 at her home.

She was born July 5, 1933 in Frederick County, Maryland the daughter of the Alpha Raymond “Jack” Reed and the late Janie Reed (nee Mercer).

She was a homemaker. Graduated from Frederick High School 1951. Worked at Frederick Trading Company before moving to Mt. Airy and later Woodbine, MD to raise her family and help her husband’s farming. She raised chickens and was a member of several organizations, including the Carroll County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Woodbine Southern States Farm Home Advisory Committee.

She was the wife of the late Fred E. “Gene” Harrison, Jr.

She was the mother of Sherry Harrison of Citra, Florida and Holly J. Harrison Frey of Mt. Airy.

Also survived by nieces Wendy Sue Miller of Delaware and Jacqueline Reed Ellis of Sharpesburg, MD, nephew Michael R. Harrison of Woodbine, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sister Helena Reed Cover.

Catholic Prayers will be Monday May 9, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with Fr. Michael J. Ruane of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church officiating.

Ralph E. Johnson 77, of Ijamsville
1928 - 2005

Ralph E. Johnson, age 77, of Ijamsville, died Wednesday May 4, 2005 at his home.

He was born March 19, 1928 in Frederick County, Maryland, the son of the late Gabriel Orem and the late Alma Mason (nee Johnson).

He was the husband of Bethel I. Johnson (nee Anderson) of Ijamsville.

He was a Construction Foreman for Williams Concrete Company. He served in the US Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was a member and treasurer for many years at Fountain Mills Methodist Church in Ijamsville. As a teenager he sang with the Gospel Jubilee Quartet. He sang with the Versatiles for over 40 years.

Pall bearers will be Charles Anderson, Jr., Wayne Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Keith Lee, Radford Mason and Jonathan Mason; Honorary Pallbearers will be the Versatiles: Thurmond Tyler, Ernest R. Thomas, Sr., Michael Costley, Thomas C. Hoy, Jr., and Kenneth Wallace.

Survived by Son Michael Carter of Dallas, TX. ; Sisters-in-law; Rachel Mason, Charlotte Anderson, Thelma Anderson, Estelle Peach, Catherine Woodyard and Sarah Anderson, Kristen Anderson; Brothers-in-law; Stanley Anderson, Charles Anderson and Lawrence Anderson.

Brother of J. Sherman Mason, Jr. and Nathan Orem. And Betty Johnson.

Godchildren: Charles Anderson, Jr., Shela Jackson and Amanda Linthicum.

Also survived by Aunts Mrs. Alma Johnson of Philadelphia, PA and Mrs. Matilda Gray of Clarksburg, MD.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday May 10, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Ross Jackson of West Falls Christian Community Church in Mt. Airy and Rev. Samie Conyers officiating.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA in Winfield on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 AM, at which time funeral service will begin.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD

She was born October 28, 1922 in Sykesville, MD the daughter of the late Ed Atikson and the late Minnie Bloom Atikson.

She was a Nurse at Springfield State Hospital for 10 years. She attended Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine.

She was the wife of the late Guy R. Farver.

She was the mother of Barbara F. Owens of Sykesville and the late Donald Lee Farver.

Loving Grandmother of Ryan Owens, Shaun and Shannon Farver.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday May 10, 2005 at 2:30 P.M. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe, Methodist clergy officiating.

Interment will be in Morgan Chapel U.M. Church cemetery, Woodbine.
