Larry “Wayne" Pickett, 58 of Ijamsville, MD formerly of Woodbine, died Tuesday September 6, 2005at his home in Ijamsville, MD

He was the son of the late Lawrence E. Pickett and the late J. Doris Pickett

Mr. Pickett was employed as a painter for Nickoles and Son. He was retired from Super Fresh in Frederick where he was the Seafood manager for 9 years.

He was a member of the NRA and loved hunting and fishing. At a younger age he liked to drag race and was a member of the Road Runner Club.

He was survived by Son: Michael Wayne Pickett of Hot Springs, Arkansas

Daughter: Brandi Leigh Pickett of Hot Springs, Arkansas Sister: Linda Reed of Washington DC Sister: Gail Reed and husband Ed Reed of Woodbine

Niece and nephew: Chuck Carroll of Woodbine and Judy Lynn Carroll of Winfield

Great-Niece: Rachel Reed of Woodbine, MD

Funeral Services will be held Friday September 9, 2005 2:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, Md

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

Eric P. Haynal 36, of Mt. Airy, MD
1969 - 2005

Eric Paul Haynal, 36 of Mt. Airy, MD, died Tuesday September 13, 2005 at home in Mt. Airy

He was the husband of Erika Christine Backof Haynal and father of Adam Thomas Haynal of Mt. Airy.

He was the son of Steven Haynal of Silver Spring and Nancy Price Doherty of Deale, MD.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are: Grandfather: Ralph Haynal of Baltimore, Grandmother: Emily Bloom of Baltimore, Sisters: Jaime and Brieanna Haynal of Huntingdon, PA. Mother and Father-in-laws: Gary and Connie Backof of Mt. Airy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Saturday September 17, 2005 11 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Parish Center Route 75 and Route 26 Libertytown, MD

Interment will be in the church’s cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a Christian Wake at 8:30 on Friday.

Zoe C. Vette 75, of Mt. Airy, MD
1929 - 2005

Zoe C. Vette, (nee Cashmore), age 75, of Mt. Airy, formerly of Silver Spring, died Friday September 16, 2005 at her home.

She was born September 21, 1929 in New Orleans, LA the daughter of the late Harold Frederick Cashmore and the late Mary O. Alexis Cashmore.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD.

She was the wife of James I. Vette.

She was the mother of James A. Vette of Mt. Airy, Zoe Vette of Rehoboth Beach, and Pamela Lazas of Downingtown, PA. and Alan F. Vette of Hillsborough, N.C. also survived by 9 grandchildren. She was predeceased by Brother Harold F. Cashmore

Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 24, 2005 at St. Michaels R.C. Church ( Old Church ) at 11:00 A.M. in Poplar Springs with Fr. Michael Ruane officiating.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784 and or Carroll Hospice, Inc. 95 Carroll Street, Westminster, MD 21157.

Private Interment at a later date.

Michael E. Jordan, age 74, of Randallstown, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, MD.

He was born November 21, 1930 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Patrick Jordan and the late Margaret Detmund Jordan.

He was a cemetery Caretaker Superintendent.

He was the husband of Mary-Agnes Jordan (nee Huber).

Father of Carol Jordan of Randallstown, Michael E. Jordan, Jr. and wife Patricia Harlinski-Jordan of Millers, and Ruth Jordan of Randallstown.

Brother of Marie Huber of Randallstown.

Grandfather of Chris Gosnell and Nicole and Reid Jordan.

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be held Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family R.C. Church, 9531 Liberty Road, Randallstown, with Fr. Walter J. McGovern officiating.

Interment Holy Family R.C. Church cemetery, Randallstown.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. With a Vigil wake service 7:30 PM.

Irene Juliet Byers, 98 of Seminole, Fl formerly of Randallstown, died September 23, 2005 in Seminole, FL

She was the spouse of the late F. Loring Byers.

Mrs. Byers was born June 8, 1908 in Baltimore County, MD the daughter of the late Louis G. Peppler and the late Minnie Peppler.

She along with her late husband were the original owner and founders of Loring Byers Funeral Directors, Inc. in Randallstown, MD

She was a former member of the Order the Easter Star #101 Woodlawn. Enjoyed Cooking and Artistic Painting and Traveling.

Surviving her are Children: Gene G. Armiger of Fort Worth, TX, and Nancy L. McKenney of Reisterstown, MD. Grandchildren: Karen Snell, Scott Armiger, Donna McCready, Donald Roberts, Jr., Julie Bell and Terrie O’Donnell. She is also survived by 12 Great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great niece.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday September 28, 2005 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD with Rev. O.F. “ Bud” Kibbe officiating.

Interment will be in Druid Ridge cemetery, Pikesville, MD

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday September 27 from 7-9 PM.

Roland Fair Ford, 53, of Mt. Airy, MD, died Tuesday September 27, 2005 at Sinai Hospital.

He was the spouse of Margaret Frances Rogers Ford of Mount Airy, MD

He was born December 20, 1951 in Frederick, MD the son of Mildred Irene Ford of Greenbelt, MD and the late Dean Joseph Ford.

He was a Draftsman for Airflow.

Mr. Ford attended Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville, MD

Mr. Ford loved singing and playing music on his guitar. He also loved hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are Daughter and Son-in-law Dawn and Ron Garrett of Keedysville, Son and Daughter-in-law Steven and Carolyn Ford of Mt. Airy, Brother; John Ford, Sisters: Irene Brown, Deanna Melson and Aletha Kraft. Grandchildren; Amanda Rinhart, Blake Ford, Jeremy Ford, Ronald Garrett, Addie Ford. Also Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday October 1, 2005 2PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD with Pastor Tim Leaman of Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville officiating.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 AM until time of service at 2 PM.

George F. Bell 83, of Catonsville, MD
1922 - 2005

George F. Bell, 83, of Catonsville, MD, died peacefully Wednesday morning, September 28, 2005 at Howard County General Hospital.

He was the spouse of Edith Shelton Bell of Catonsville for 59 years.

Mr. Bell was born September 15, 1922 in Frederick, MD the son of the late Charles W. Bell and the late Addie H. Fritze Bell.

He was a retiree from C&P Telephone where he worked as a Supervisor of Construction. He is a Retired Captain with the United States Marine Corps and served during WWII. He is also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Mr. Bell was an active and dedicated member of the 40 West Lions Club for 39 years. He held numerous positions in the club including District Governor for Multiple District 22A from 1976-1977, Club President, Past President, Treasurer, Secretary and chaired various committees. He received many awards and Certificates of Appreciation for his hard work and generosity. He was involved and supportive of many youth organizations.

Surviving in addition to his wife are Son: George W. Bell of Catonsville, Son and Daughter-in-law: Jay H. and Julia Bell of Gamber, Sister: Helen R. Click of Thurmont and Brother: James C. Bell of Woodsboro. Also survived by grandchildren: Casey E. Bell, George J. Bell, Derek G. Bell, Rachael L. Bell and Thomas J. Bell, and Great-grandchild: Payton L. Bell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by Brothers: Joseph P., Robert P. and Charles W. Bell, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday October 2, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating. Interment will be in The Glade cemetery, Walkersville, MD.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday 7 to 9 PM and Saturday 5 to 9 PM.

David L. Tabler 84, of Woodbine, MD
1921 - 2005

David L. Tabler, age 84, of Woodbine, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mt. Airy, MD.

He was born February 2, 1921 in Etchinson, MD the son of the late Thomas Tabler and the late Marion Warthen Tabler.

He was the husband of Janet F. Tabler (nee Butler ).

He was a Technical Sergeant in the US Army from 1942-1946 during WWII. In combat in the European Theater of Operations) Sicily, Anzio, and Southern France ), with Company ‘F”, 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He received two Purple Heart Medals and a Bronze Star Medal. He loved hunting and fishing and going to Auctions.

Father of David B. Tabler of Rockville, MD

Brother of Audrey Pollack of Bel Air, MD and the late Carlton Tabler.

Brother in law of Shirley Tabler of Rockville.

Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.

Interment will be in Morgan Chapel U.M. Church cemetery, Woodbine, MD

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., Winfield, on Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM.
