She was the daughter of the late Harry Hildenbrand and Jessie Phillips Hildenbrand. She was born on February 5, 1920 in Shenandoah, PA.

She was a homemaker.

She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Myers, Sr.

Memorial Service Sat. January 25, 2003 at 1:00 PM at Milford Mill U.M. Church, 915 Milford Mill Road, Pikesville, MD with the Rev. Joan Carter-Rimbach of Milford Mill U.M. Church in Pikesville officiating and the Dr. Carl B. Rife officiating.

Sandra Rae Hall (nee Bryant), age 56 of Woodbine died Wed. January 22, 2003 at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster, MD

She was born June 14, 1946 in Carroll County, Maryland, the daughter of the late Dewey John Bryant and late Birdie Margaret Bryant (nee Wolverton).

She was a retired LPN nurse for Springfield State Hospital for 33 yrs.

Mother of Michael Barrie Hall, Jr. of Woodbine, Robin Rebecca Hall of Woodbine.

Grandchildren: Ashley Rebecca Hall of Hampstead, Tyler Michael Carr of Woodbine Also survived by ex-husband Michael Barrie Hall Sr. of Westminster.

Sister of Richard Lynn Bryant of Glenwood and Carol Ann Hungerford-Windsor of Sykesville, Clifford Allen Bryant of Dayton, MD and the late Earl Bryant, William Bryant and Ellen Stanley.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM

Interment will be in McKendree cemetery in Cooksville, MD

Graveside service will be held Saturday January 25, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at McKendree cemetery in Cooksville with the Rev. Jonathan Wyns officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society

Hilda D. Widerman (nee Calp), age 72, of Baltimore, died Friday January 24, 2003 in Tennessee at her son's home.

She was born July 7, 1930 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Marion Leroy Calp and the late Florence Turnbaugh Phillips

She was a homemaker.

She was the wife of the late William A. Widerman, Sr.

Mother of William A. Widerman, Jr. of Clarksville, TN, Diane M. Robinson of Randallstown and David E. Widerman of Westminster.

Also survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters and 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

One brother predeceased her.

Lillian L. Ambrusko (nee Jankowski), age 84, of Westminster, died Monday January 27, 2003 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

She was born December 7, 1918 in Buffalo, New York the daughter of the late Jan Jankowski and the late Jozefa Wiech Jankowski.

She was a housewife. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Libertytown. Member of American Legion in New York.

She was the wife of the late Frank G. Ambrusko.

Mother of Sandra McDermott of Mt. Airy and Frank B. Ambrusko of Oregon.

Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild

Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be on Thursday January 30, 2003 at St. Peter the Apostle Rt. 75 in Libertytown with Fr. John Dietzenbach officiating, at 11:00 AM

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, 4000 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore, NY, Graveside Friday January 31, 2003 at 11:00 AM

Joseph William Balado, Sr., 69 of Eldersburg, Formerly of Islip, NY, died Saturday February 1, 2003 at Carroll County General Hospital

He was the spouse of Theresa Arbia Balado.

He was born on March 6, 1933 in Manhattan, NY the son of the late Joseph and Juanita Lata Balado

Mr. Balado worked for Petro Fuel as a Pluming and Heating Technician.

He enjoys woodworking, Model Building and various other crafts.

Surviving besides his wife are Children Donna Balado of Eldersburg, Joseph Balado, Jr. Of Long Island, John Balado of Cooperstown, NY, Juanita Challis of Mt. Carmel, PA, Anthony Balado of Long Island, NY

Sister: Juanita McCabe of NJ, Brother: John Balado of FL, Half Sister: Carmen Balado and Half Brothers Dino and Pepe Balado,

Also survived by 13 grandchildren, Sara, Emma and Dana Kobylenski, Erica, Joseph III Julie, John Jr., Jennifer, Anthony, Jr., Egidio and Melissa Balado, Cheryl and Kirsten Challis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday February 4, 2003 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community, Liberty Rd. Eldersburg, MD

Douglas G. Webster 87, Of Sykesville, MD
1916 - 2003

Douglas G. Webster, 87, of Sykesville formerly of The Borough of Carroll Valley, PA died Wednesday February 5, 2003 at home.

He was married for nearly 63 years to Irma Lucille Marriott Webster of Sykesville

Mr. Webster was born January 11, 1916 in Woodlawn, MD the son of the late Gurldy and Pearle Gore Webster.

Mr. Webster owned and Operated Webster Construction Company before retiring. In his retirement he worked as a Building Inspector for Carroll Valley.

Mr. Webster enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Golfing and Collecting Antique Tools and Wooden Shafted Golf Clubs.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Dale Ireland of Sykesville, Brother Stanley Webster of Charles Town, WV. Grandfather to Lisa Hall of Woodbine and the late Matt Shenton.

Also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday February 12, 2003 11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD www.burrier-queen.com. With the Rev. Lamar Kopp officiating.

Inurnment to follow at Mount Olive cemetery, Randallstown, MD

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

Joseph A. "Buck" Abell, Jr. 72, of Winfield, MD
1930 - 2003

Joseph A. "Buck" Abell Jr., 72, of Winfield, died Sunday February 9, 2003 at his home. Born June 26, 1930 in Carroll County, Winfield, MD, he was the son of the late Madeline Holston Abell and late Joseph Arthur Abell, Sr. He was the husband of Joscha Abell.

His family was among the first settlers in the State of Maryland; St. Mary's County and were founders of the Baltimore Sunpapers.

He was a 1948 graduate of Mt. Airy High School where he was class president. After high school he served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was self-employed as a school bus contractor and farmed for many years through out Carroll County. He went on to be the owner and operator of Abell's Home Center in Mt. Airy and was currently Owner/Operator along with his wife of Bloom Valley Senior Care Assisted Living Center in Winfield.

He was predeceased by sisters; Mary Walsh, Betty Wisniewski and Jane Morgan and brothers Thomas and Robert Abell and a granddaughter, Tanya Michelle.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and son-in-law Danita and Wendell Bly of Winfield, sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph C. and Donna Abell of Ocean Pines, MD., D. Scott Abell of Winfield, Patrick and Michelle Abell of Mt. Airy and Chris and Julie Abell of York Springs, PA. A brother and sister-in-law, Francis "Johnny" and Janice Abell of Winfield, sister in law Charlotte Abell of Winfield; 13 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews

A private service will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, MD 21157.

Carol Jesse Fleming, age 85, of Woodbine, MD, died Thursday February 13, 2003 at his home.

He was the son of the late John B. Fleming and the late Amy N. Leatherwood Fleming. He was born November 8, 1917 in Woodbine, MD.

He was a Retired accountant for Esskay Meat Packers for 25 years. Lifetime member of Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine and he was a self-employed nurseryman.

Survived by sister Marjorie F. Pickett of Woodbine and the late Stanley S. Fleming and the late Mark W. Fleming.

Survived by 4 nieces; Jeanie Edmonds, Barbara Sutton, Gaye Grimes and Carolyn Ringley. And sister in law Dorothy Fleming of Woodbine.
