JERRY ROSS FLOOK
June 21, 1955 - October 3, 2011
Jerry Ross Flook, 56, Middletown, died unexpectedly Monday October 3, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Mr. Flook had been recovering from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of Tessa Rhodes Flook his wife of 26 years.
Born in Middletown, June 21, 1955 he was a son of the late Arthur C. Flook and Helen Viola Adams Flook Leatherman. Mr. Flook was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Frederick County Highway Department for 25 years and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown.
He enjoyed farming and butchering and was an avid hunter. He also loved his pride and joy, granddaughter Brianna.
Surviving, besides his wife, are:
1 daghter - Nicole Lynn Flook and her fiancee Bryan Laster - Middletown
1 step-daughter - Brenda Ann Rhodes Anders and her husband Daryl - Hagerstown
4 grandchildren - Brianna Marie Laster, Brooke Anders, Daryl Anders Jr., Piper Anders
1 sister - Jane E. Sowers - Yelm, WA
3 brothers - James Flook - Woodbine, John Flook - Ijamsville, Jeffrey Flook - Myersville
The family will recieve friends on Friday October 7 at the Donald B. Thompson funeral Home,31 E. Main St., Middletown from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 8 at 11 AM from Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown. Rev. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Middletown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

CLIFFORD CARL YOUNGBLOOD JR.
November 23, 1921 - October 8, 2011
Clifford Cash Youngblood Sr., age 89, of Frederick, Maryland passed away on October 8, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed a full life of work and leisure with his wife of sixty-nine years, Evelyn (White) Youngblood, currently a resident of Golden Living Nursing Home in Frederick. He is survived by three sons, Clifford Jr, and wife Karin of Middletown, MD; Kenneth and wife Laurel of Eaos, New Mexico, and Brent and wife Nanette of Otisville, NY; the youngest son, Douglas, predeceased him; Doug's wife, Lisa, resides in Shorwood, MN. There are ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Clifford is the brother of Ethel Geuss of Kingston, NY; Shirley Gunderman (husband, Samuel) of Beverly Hills, FL; Alfred Youngblood Jr (wife, Phyliss) of Pine Bush, NY; and the late Harriet Bergen, who resided in Middletown, NY.
Clifford was born on November 23, 1921 and raised on the family farm on Youngblood Road near Montgomery, NY. After a successful careet as a dairy farmer, he went on to become a construction supervisor for the Orange County Highway Department. Upon retirement, Cliff and Evelyn moved to Beverly Hills, Florida, where they enjoyed a large circle of friends and relatives.
At a future date, a memorial service will be held at the Brick Church cemetery in Montgomery, NY.

CAROL KAY COOPER
August 23, 1936 - January 3, 2111
Mrs. Carol Kay cooper, 74, Middletown, died Monday January 3, 2111 at her home. She was the wife of Robert E. Cooper.
Born in Carmi, ILL, august 23, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Arlie and hazel Smith Crayne. She was employed as housekeeping supervisor with Dimensions Healtchare Systems in Laurel until her retirement.
Surviving, besides her husband, are:
4 children - Diana Horn -Middletown; Debra Connor - Simpsonville, SC; Robert Cooper Jr. - Frederick; Jeffrey Cooper - Barboursville, VA
11 grandchildren
5 great-grandchildren
3 brothers and 3 sisters.
She predeceased by a daughter Kathy Cooper ; a grandson Jeremiah Cooper and one sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2 PM on Saturday January 15, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Barboursville, VA. Rev. David Knighton will officiate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick Co., POB 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.

ROBERT LESTER BAKER
September 16, 1935 - July 7, 2011
Mr. Robert Lester "Bobby" Baker, 75, Frederick, died suddenly Thursday July 7 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the companion of Mary L. Olden for 33 years.
Born in Harmony, September 16, 1935 he was a son of the late Guy Lester and Marie isabelle Emery Baker. He was a member of the Harmony Church of the Brethren, Myersville and was employed at Weis Market at Old Camp Rd. in Frederick. He was an avid duckpin bowler.
He is survived by:
1 son - Wayne Baker and wife Robin - Hagerstown
1 sister - Ruby Webb and husband Denny - Myersville
2 nieces - Tina Delauter and husband David - Myersville and Cyndy Weddle - Myersville
his companion's two daughters - Bonnie Baker - Martinsburg, WV and Deborah Dewey - Alvin, Texas
He was predeceased by a daughter Pamela Baker, a sister Joan Baker, and a nephew Jody Weddle.
The family will receive friends on Monday July 11 at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Tuesday from the Harmony Church of the Brethren, 3924 Brethren Church Rd., Myersville, MD. Rev. Tracy L. Wiser
will officiate. Interment will be in the Harmony Church of the Brethren cemetery, Myersville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony Church of the Brethren.

BARBARA GRAVELY MCKAY
June 18, 1934 - July 14, 2011

VALERIE PERRIN GOODMAN
February 9, 1968 - July 15, 2011
Mrs. Valerie Ann Perrin-Goodman, 43, Middletown, passed away unexpectedly from a sudden illness Friday, July 15, 2011, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She was the beloved wife of James A. "Jay" Goodman II.
Born in Washington DC on February 9, 1968 she was the daughter of Joan Perrin Gayler of Washington DC and John T. Perrin of Lewes, DE and step-daughter of Earl Gayler, Washington DC.
Valerie graduated from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda; Montgomery College and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Towson State University. She was a former manager and owner of Il Forno, a family owned restaurant in Frederick.
She was an active volunteer at Middletown United Methodist Church Nursery School, Middletown Primary School, and the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane rescue League. She was an avid equestrian and animal lover and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. She also attended Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.
She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
She was the devoted mother of two children: Madelene and Colton Goodman
She is also survived by:
1 brother - John T Perrin Jr. - Frederick
her mother-in-law - Annette Goodman - Middletown
her brother-in-law - Chris Goodman - Middletown.
and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 19, 2011 at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday July 20, 2011 from Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown. Rev. Chris Frigm will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Middletown.

DONALD HOOPER WILES SR.
March 7, 1935 - July 16, 2011
Mr. Donald Hooper Wiles Sr. (Pappy Don) ,76, Myersville passed away suddenly Saturday July 16, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. he was the husband of Patricia Yvonne Wiles, his wife of 44 years. They were married November 4, 1966.
Born March 7, 1935 in Middletown, he was a son of the late William S. and Annie Hooper Wiles.
Donnie retired from Christ Reformed Church in Middletown where he was sexton and cemetery caretaker for 42 years. He was also was a valued employee for many years at Gladhill Funeral Home in Middletown and later with the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home.
He was a member of Christ Reformed Church and a life member of the Middletown Volunteer Fire Company.
In addition to his wife he is survived by six sons and one daughter.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Grace O'Neal Wiles; brother Glenn Wiles; sister Annabelle Wiles and great-grandson Logan Strawn.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at the chapel in Christ Reformed Church in Middletown from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday July 21 from Christ Reformed Church. Rev.Mark A. Wakefield will officate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.

HAROLD JAMES TAYLOR
July 27, 1928 - July 30, 2011
Mr. Harold James Taylor, 83, Frederick, formerly of Middletown, died Saturday July 30, 2011 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home in Frederick. He was the husband of Muriel Ramsdell Taylor.
Born in Lebec, Maine on July 27, 1928 he was a son of the late James and Clara Benson Taylor.
He owned and operated Taylor Insurance Angency, Inc. in Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Frederick until his retirement. He was a member of the Frederick Seventy-Day Adventist Church .
Surviving, besides his wife, are:
3 sons - Steven Taylor - Knoxville; Craig Taylor - Braddock Heights; Brent Taylor - Frederick
2 daughters - Sheri Fake - Frederick and Stacey Taylor - Hagerstown
2 brothers - Robert Taylor - Atlanta, GA and Leonard Taylor - Braddock Heights
1 sister - Hazel Mallar - East Machias, Maine
5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

HULDA EMMALINE HOLTER
April 20, 2009
Mrs. Hulda Emmaline Holter, 94 Jefferson, died Monday April 20 at Citizens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Frederick.
She was predeceased by her first husband Clark C. Moser in 1946 and her second husband, John D. Holter in 1978.
Born in Galax, VA. she was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Caroline Elizabeth Mabe Frost and was also the last of her immediate family.
She was retired from the Frederick CO. school system as cafeteria manager at Middletown Elementary School. She was a member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Jefferson for over 80 years and was a lifetime deacon. She was a very active member at Pleasant View where she taught in the children's dept. of the Sunday School; was director of the Sunday school for many years; childrens director for many years; served as church clerk; directed vacation bible school and also cooked at Camp Piniel, a church camp near Thurmont and was active in the women's fellowship of the church serving in many officies. She also attended church at Tranquility of Fredericktowne where she had resided for five years.
She was a world traveller and was involved in many charitable organizations and has also volunteered at Valley Elementary School. She sponsored children with the Christian Children Fund and met one of her sponsored children in Africa.
She is survived by:
1 son = Glenn E. Moser and wife Shirley - Middletown;
1 daughter - Alma E. Dade and husband Stanley - Jefferson; another daughter-in-law - Marie Moser - Palm Coast, FL
She was predeceased by a son Clark WM. "Bill" Moser in 2003
8 grandchildren - Ken Moser and wife Becky, Bill Moser and wife Missy, Ann Beauchamp and husband Ed, Dennis Moser and wife Sheri, Danny Moser and wife Pam, Julie Reynolds and husband James, Kathy Stowers and husband TOm, Jamelyn Snoots and friend Jeremy Davis

Interment will be made in the church cemetery.

JOHN WILLIAM WILSON JR.
September 30, 1956 - March 29, 2009
John William Wilson Jr., 52, Middletown died Sunday March 29, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of June Adams Wilson.
Born in Frederick, September 30, 1956 he was a son of Mae Blickenstaff Wilson, Myersville and the late John W. Wilson Sr.
He was employed at Trout's Lighthouse Seafood in New Market and was a member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville.
He was a member of the South Moutain Rod and Gun Club and was an avid golfer, fisherman, and NASCAR fan. He also was a craftsman woodworker and artist.
Surviving, besides his mother and wife, are:
2 children - Michelle Lea Wilson - Frederick and Michael Eugene Wilson - Middletown.
1 sister - Anne Hughes and husband Darryl - Hagerstown
2 nieces - Holly Hughes and Kacey Hughes and many other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 1, at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 East Main Street, Middletown from 6 to 9 PM. Friends may also may call anytime on Wednesday at the funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday April 2 from Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. Rev. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman, pastor and Vica Chris Frigm will officiate.
Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Middletown.
