W. Clark Poole, Jr.

Mr. W. Clark Poole, Jr., 72, of Barnesville, died from complications of pneumonia on Monday January 31, 2005 at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville.
He was the beloved husband of Maggie Poole.
Born on September 23, 1932 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Willson Clarke and Lois Poole.
Mr. Poole proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Salem during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Montgomery County Farmers Club and president of his class at Poolesville High School, 1951.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards and many acts of kindness.
Surviving besides his wife is one daughter, Mimi Schultze of Barnesville, one brother, William E. Poole of Arizona along with his family and 3 grandsons, Ryan, Nicolas and Clarke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate at 11 am on Saturday February 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD 20838. Rosary will be recited before the Mass starting at 10:30 am.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family request no flowers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary's Church or the Oncology Department at Shady Grove Hospital, 9901 Medical Center Drive, Rockville, MD 20850.

Mark A. Alexander

Mr. Mark A. Alexander, 81, of Germantown, MD, died on Sunday January 30, 2005 at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD.
He was the loving husband of Virginia Alexander.
Surviving besides his wife is one son, Lyle A. Alexander and one granddaughter, Grace.
The family will receive friends on Thursday February 3 from 4-7 PM with a funereal service to start at 7 PM at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD .
Interment will be on Friday February 4 at 1 PM in Laurel Memorial Park cemetery, Pomona, NJ.

Ray C. Bodmer

Mr. Ray Cooke Bodmer, 83, of Wheaton, MD, died on Tuesday January 25, 2005 at his residence.
He was the husband of the late June R. Bodmer.
Born on November 16, 1921 in Beallsville, MD, he was the son of the late Roy and Molly Cubitt Bodmer.
Mr. Bodmer worked for C & P Telephone / Bell Atlantic for 41 years. He was a member of the Mason's Pentalpha Lodge 195 in Rockville, Telephone Pioneers of America and Washington Knights of the Round Table. He also served his country in the Army from 1942-1946.
Surviving are his children; Nancy Bodmer of Olney, MD, Gary Bodmer of Derwood, MD, Robert Bodmer of Rocky Ridge, MD, Ronald Bodmer of Laurel, MD, one brother, Howard Bodmer of Beallsville, MD, one sister, Mary Ann Johnson of Florida and 6 grandchildren; Patrick, Christopher, Emily, Matthew, Adam and Craig.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday January 28 at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109) Barnesville, MD . The family will be greeting friends one hour prior, at 11 AM.
Interment will follow the funeral service in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville, MD.

Lloyd LaVerne Linn

Mr. Lloyd LaVerne Linn, 85, died on January 23, 2005 at his home in Frederick, MD as a result of leukemia. He was born on March 19, 1919 to Alexander and Minnie Linn in Martinsville, Illinois, where he spent his childhood. He married Naomi Barbour on November 1, 1941.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leland. He is survived by his wife of 64 years and two sisters, Leonore and Lois Linn both of Martinsville, Illinois.
Mr. Linn's occupation was electrical engineering. His avocation was serving his Lord through the local church. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the US Army Signal Corps from 1943-1946.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday January 30th at the Redland Baptist Church in Rockville, Maryland. Rev. Mark Adams and Rev. Ross Halbersma will officiate. An inurnment and memorial service will also be held at a later date in Martinsville, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Redland Baptist Church, 6922 Muncaster Road, Rockville, MD 20855.

Kevin Fitzwater

Mr. Kevin Eugene Fitzwater, 73, of Boyds, died on Friday January 21 at the College View Center in Frederick where he was a resident for 12 years.
Born on January 20, 1932, on the Wade farm in Boyds, he was the son of the late Herman M. Fitzwater and Nellie Cullers Fitzwater Marshall.
Surviving are two sisters; Mary Fitzwater Virts and husband Arthur of Boyds, Loretta Fitzwater Jeffers of Monrovia, two brothers; Herman Fitzwater and wife Lucille of Hagerstown, Armer Fitzwater and wife Pat of Mount Airy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fitzwater was preceded in death by two sisters, Ina Fitzwater Haines and Vada Fitzwater Stottlemyer.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday January 25 at the Boyds Presbyterian Church cemetery, 19901 White Ground Road, Boyds.

Victoria B. Davio

Mrs. Victoria B. Davio, 92, of Lovells, Michigan, died on Monday January 10, 2005 at the National Lutheran Home, in Rockville, Maryland.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ubaldo C. Davio, loving mother of Peter Davio and wife Francine of Clarksburg, Maryland, sister of Jack Chencinski of Michigan, and grandmother of Dennis, Paul, Brian and Michael Davio and great grandmother of 1.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Gerald Davio, four sisters and one brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday January 13, 2005 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, Maryland. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Frances R. Hubble

Mrs. Frances Repass Hubble, 74, of Rockville, MD, passed away on Saturday January 8, 2005 at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, MD. She was the wife of the late Bernard V. Rubble who died in 1986.
Born on June 16, 1930 in Burkes Garden, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Virginia Atwell Repass.
Frances retired after forty years of service with the State of Maryland Land Records Division in Rockville. She was an avid reader and sports enthusiast, but her real love was traveling. In addition to seeing the U.S.A., she sailed on many cruises throughout the world.
She is survived by two children; Bernard V. Hubble, Jr., of Rockville, MD and Denise Hubble Nicewarner of Gaithersburg, MD.
Frances was the oldest of eleven children. Surviving are five sisters and three brothers; Betty Repass Alluutt of Poolesviile, MD, Edith Repass Dove and her husband, Harry of Marion, MD, Barbara Repass Manaia of Frederick, MD, Sylvia Repass Miller and husband George of Frederick, MD, Gail Repass Pearson of Germantown, MD, William Robert Repass and wife Shirley of Moriarty, NM, Joseph Edward Repass and wife Donna of Aurora, CO and John H. Repass and wife Carolyn of Beallsville, MD.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Letty and Virginia Repass.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frances' desire was to be cremated and the service will be private and at the convenience of the Family.

Dikka Moen Rice

Mrs. Dikka Moen Rice, age 96, of Little Pond Place, Montgomery Village, MD, peacefully passed away on December 30, 2004.
She was the wife of the late John A. Rice.
Surviving are her two children, Peter Rice and wife Karen of Germantown, MD, Elisabeth McKellar and husband Ralph of Cape Town, South Africa and 5 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday January 6 at the Christ The Servant Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Montgomery Village Ave. and Centerway Road, Montgomery Village, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christ the Servant Lutheran Chuch, Tsunami Relief Fund, P.O. Box 2188, Gaithersburg, MD 20879

Connie Emory

Mrs. Constance "Connie" C. Emory, 57, a resident of Poolesville for 28 years, died peacefully on Friday December 31, 2004 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda after a long battle with cancer.
She was the loving wife of Fred Emory.
Born on May 17, 1947, in Bethesda, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Dwight and Elizabeth Poulter Curtis.
A 1965 graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School she attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri and graduated in 1967. Connie worked as a cafeteria manager at Clarksburg Elementary School and later showed her entrepreneur spirit by starting her own floral business, "Flower Magic" in Poolesville, which she owned and operated for 10 years.
Surviving besides her husband are three daughters; Jennifer Shovlin and husband Jim of Urbana, Heather and Meghan Emory both of Poolesville, two sisters; Betty Anne Cook and husband Dr. Joe Cook of New York, Caroline Bloom of Massachusetts and two granddaughters, Alexandra and Victoria Shovlin.
Connie was preceded in death by one sister, Mariwin Curtis.
A Memorial Service celebrating Connie's life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday January 4 at the Poolesville Baptist Church, 17550 W. Willard Road, Poolesville.

R. Cromwell Allnutt

Mr. R. Cromwell Allnutt, 86, of Barnesville, died on Monday March 7, 2005 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
He was the husband of the late Mary Margaret Allnutt.
Born on November 8, 1918 in Boyds, he was the son of the late R. Frank and Agnes Cromwell Allnutt.
Surviving are his children; Anne Cote and husband Tom of Gaithersburg, Mary Berman and husband Bob of Germantown, Frank Allnutt and wife Terry of Keedysville, Anita Kane and husband Dave of Westminster and five grandchildren; Matthew Kane, Emma Kane, Marcus Allnutt, Stephen Kane and Ethan Allnutt.
Family will be receiving friends on Friday March 11 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., (Rt. 109), Barnesville .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday March 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Rd., Barnesville.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers will follow later.

Gladys D. Verling

Mrs. Gladys D. Verling, 101, of Montgomery Village, died on Wednesday March 2, 2005 at the Montgomery Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in Montgomery Village.
She was the wife of William Preston Verling.
Born on March 18, 1903 in Culpeper, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James and Gabrielle Curtis Davis.
Mrs. Verling owned and operated a beauty shop in Washington, DC for many years.
Surviving is one son, William Verling, Sr. of New Jersey, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a niece, Gladys M. Bosben of Virginia.
Graveside services are being held at 1pm on Saturday March 5 at Ft. Lincoln cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.
