Mr. Daniel R. Bumb, 69, of Beallsville, MD on August 16, 2009.
He was the husband of Janet Bumb, father of Dorothy and Dennis Bumb, brother of Dorothy Helfert, Mildred Barrett, Erlene Dreier, Agnes Kissel all of Evansville, IN, Marjorie Roettger of Seymour, TN and Rev. Gilbert Bumb of St. Charles, MO. Dan will also be missed by his large extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday August 22 at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Dan's name to a charity of your choice.

Jane C. Poole

Mrs. Jane "Sis" C. Poole, 73, of Poolesville, died on Sunday August 2, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
She was the loving wife of William R. Poole.
Born on April 27, 1936 in Dickerson, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Evelyn Stottlemyer Burdette.
Jane was a long time resident of Upper Montgomery County and worked as a teacher's aide. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a supporter of the Poolesville Odd Fellows Lodge 97. Jane was an art lover and collected many works by local artists.
Surviving besides her husband are her children, Ronald C. Poole and wife Karen of Frederick, Joseph K. Poole of Poolesville, William R. Poole and wife Leslee of Damascus, one brother, William Clark Burdette and wife Mary Ellen of Dickerson, 4 grandchildren, and her cousins, Mildred Piasecki of Dickerson, Jennifer Haeberle of Damascus. She will also be remembered by her dear friends Jim and Shirley Spory.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Burdette.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 5 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday August 6 at the Poolesville Memorial United Methodist Church, 17821 Elgin Road, Poolesville, MD.
Interment will follow in Neelsville Presbyterian Church cemetery, Germantown.

Margaret L. Pearson

Mrs. Margaret L. Pearson, 86, of Dickerson, died peacefully on Thursday July 30, 2009 at Casey House Hospice in Rockville.
She was the wife of the late Charles H. Pearson, Sr.
Born on October 11, 1922 in Bland County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late William F. and Mary Burress Kidd.
Margaret moved to Montgomery County when she was 6 and was a farmers wife. She loved to fish, tell stories, go to the horse races, crochet and quilt.
Surviving are her children, Betty Davis (Robert) of WV, Mary Jane Mould of PA, Peggy Young (Willie) of Dickerson, Barbara Jean Britton of VA, Patricia Diane Mack (John) of Frederick, one grandson that was raised by Margaret as a son, George Frankie Knott, Jr. of Frederick, one half sister, Hattie Reid of Rockville, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
She will also be remembered by her special friend Marlene Chervenak and all of her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles H. Pearson, Jr., 3 brothers, 2 half brothers and 2 sisters.
The family will receive friends on Sunday August 2 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD where funeral services will be held on Monday August 3 at 10 am.
Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.

Fr. Robert V. Zylla, O.S.C.

Fr. Robert V. Zylla, O.S.C., of Emmitsburg, died on Wednesday July 29 at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA.
Born on January 22, 1927 in St. Cloud, MN, he was one of 12 children born to the late Joseph and Lottie Zylla.
Father Zylla was ordained a priest on June 1, 1951 and opened the Crosiers monastery in Beallsville, MD in 1971. He then moved on to Mount St. Mary's Seminary to become a member of the faculty and began his 38 years of highly-respected work in Moral Theology and priestly formation. During his almost four decades of service, he taught almost 1, 200 seminary alumni. Father Zylla also served as a visiting priest for St. Mary's Catholic Shrine in Barnesville, MD and served as Chaplain for Knights of Columbus Council #2323.
First viewing will be held on Monday August 3 from 2 to 4 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Shrine, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, with a Mass immediately following at 4pm.
At the conclusion of the Mass, Fr. Zylla's body will be taken to Mount St. Mary's Seminary, St. Bernard's Chapel, where an all-night vigil will be held starting at 8 pm with Office of the Dead beginning at 7 pm.,
On Tuesday, August 4, from 9 to 10:30 am, visitors may pay their respects at a second viewing in St. Bernard's Chapel. At 11:00 am, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. At the request of his Crosier confreres, burial will take place in the Order's cemetery in Onamia, MN.

Mr. Thomas E. Gracey, 73, of Washington, DC died on Wednesday July 15, 2009.
He was the husband of Banu Gracey of Clarksburg, MD.

Nikeem Malik Banana

Mr. Nikeem Malik Banana, 20 of Poolesville, MD died suddenly on Sunday July 12, 2009.
He was the son of Jeffery and Lisa Banana of Poolesville.
Also surviving is his sister Ashley Banana, step-sister Brianna Banana, step-mother Abenet Banana and god-mother Mikschal Johanison.
The family will receive friends on Saturday July 18 from 2-5 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD A funeral service will take place around 4:00 pm.

Mr. Olivier E. de Messieres, 83 of Boyds died on Sunday July 12, 2009.
Services are private.

Richard "Dick" G. Yokum, Sr.

Mr. Richard "Dick" G. Yokum, Sr., 62 of Poolesville died July 8, 2009. He was born February 16, 1947 in Mill Creek, West Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Paula, two sons, Richard G. Yokum, Jr. and Steven W. Yokum both of Poolesville and loving granddaughter Ashley Yokum of Hagerstown.
He is also survived by his mother, Etheleen Daniels of Beach City, Ohio, brothers David and wife Joyce of Sterling, VA, Keith and wife Lorraine, Douglas (Speck) and wife Angie both of Mill Creek, WV, Ronald Daniels of Beach City, OH and sister Carmel and husband Jeff of Navarre, OH.
Richard served in the United States Navy on the USS Everglades and was retired from Coca Cola, USA.
The family will receive friends on Friday July 10 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, where funeral services will be held on Saturday July 11 at 11 am.
Internment will follow at Resthaven cemetery, Frederick.
Donations may be made in Dick's name to Canterusa.org . A certified 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing retiring racehorses with opportunities for new careers after the finish line.

Margaret Lawless

Mrs. Margaret Collins Lawless born in St Joseph, Mo passed away in her home at Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, Md. on June 18, 2009, at the age of 90.
She was a loving wife of the late Deaner K. Lawless whom she met when both were serving in the United States Navy stationed at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md.
She was a former resident of Barnesville, Md for 35 years where she was a dedicated parishoner at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting for others and volunteering for many related projects. She work 24 years in the medical technician field with Dr. G. Rosenburger in Rockville, Md.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family, Deaner Lawless II and wife Sheila of Virginia Beach, their two children Deaner III, Tiffany and husband Scott and their two children Kirsten and Landon, Jim Lawless and wife Janet of Gaithersburg, their two children James and wife Lindsey and Juli, Karen Lawless of Gaithersburg, Md, Don Fink of Gaithersburg, Md and Jeanne Lawless Snyder and husband Ells of Pasadena, Md., their two children Bryan and wife Julie and Gregory. A third great grandchild is on the way!
She will be remembered for her strong faith, determination and her smile.
Visitation hours will be at Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, Md. 6-19-09 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm . Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Barnesville, MD on 6-20-09 at 11:00 am. Burial services will be in Grundy Center, Iowa. Please no flowers or donations. If you wish celebrate her memory with an act of kindness and a prayer.

Charles Thomas Offutt, Sr.

Mr. Charles T. Offutt, Sr., 57, of Frederick, died suddenly on Thursday June 18, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
He was the loving husband of Teresa Offutt.
Born on January 21, 1952 he was the son of the late Leonard Jerome and Mary Loretta Davis Offutt, Sr.
Surviving besides his wife are his children, Charles T. Offutt, Jr., Lynne Anne Offutt, Joseph S. Offutt, one step-daughter, Carolyn Miller, two brothers, Leonard Offutt, Jr., Notley Offutt, three sisters, Loretta Pugh, Anne Carlton and Helen Mazzuca.
He is also survived by his first wife, Rebecca Offutt.
Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Offutt and one sister, Lucy Walther.
The family will receive friends on Monday June 22 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday June 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD.
Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery at a later date.
The family is accepting flowers or donations in Charles' name to a charity of your choice.

John Cook

Mr. John Cook passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Comus, Maryland on June 5, 2009. He was born in Aurora, Illinois the son of Demeter and Mary Kuk.
John was a long time resident of Aurora and was happily married to Louise for 72 years. For many years, he was a parishioner at St. Joseph's Church and later a parishioner at Annunciation Church. As a result of his love for music, he opened a stereo and record store on Downer Place in downtown Aurora and later relocated to Broadway. The store became a popular gathering place for downtown shoppers from 1953 to 1973. His interest in music continued to be a major part of his life. John collected mostly jazz recordings but he enjoyed many other genres as well. He listened to music almost everyday of his life.
In 2003 he moved to Grants Pass, Oregon and traveled between Grants Pass and Comus Maryland to be near his children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his daughter Carol Ann (Charles) Breeden of Comus, Maryland and his son Edward (Jacqueline) Cook of Grants Pass, Oregon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louise, son Wayne and siblings Mary, Daniel, Lena, Steven, Victor, and Gertrude.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren Jennifer (Bobby) Polsky of Rockville, Maryland; Amy (Ted) Harris of Portland, Oregon, Steven Ruch of Comus, Maryland; and Jace (Mandy) Cook of Portland, Oregon. his three great grandchildren Ryan Polsky, Taylor and Connor Harris and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Barnesville, Maryland. A private internment will take place at St. Joseph's cemetery on Saturday June 13.

Ida Williams

Mrs. Ida Frances Beall Williams, 98, of Seneca, died peacefully on Sunday May 31, 2009 at her residence.
She was the wife of the late Golden Ellsworth Williams.
Born on June 2, 1910 in Maryland she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Bessie Young Beall.
Surviving are her children; Frances "Billy" Poole and husband Raymond of Seneca, Roberta "Bobby" Chauncey and husband Edward of Culpeper, VA, Erwin Williams of Frederick, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday June 1 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday June 2.
Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
