Charles L. Poole

Mr. Charles L. Poole, 80, of Dickerson, died on Monday November 15, 2010 at the Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy.
He was the husband of the late Shirley Poole.
Born on April 29, 1930 in Poolesville he was the son of the late Frank and Virginia Young Poole.
Charles proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1951-1954.
He was comptroller of the Research Analysis Corporation in Vienna, VA for thirty-five years. After retirement Charles worked in the tool department at the Lowes in Frederick for eleven years.
Surviving is his daughter, Kimberly Poole of Dickerson; three brothers, Raymond Poole of Florida, William Poole of Poolesville, Linwood Poole of Georgia; one sister, Mary Woodfield of Rockville, nine nephews and four nieces.
Mr. Poole was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Poole.
Services are private.
Those wishing to express their sympathies can make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Charles' name.

Paul A. Hutchins

Mr. Paul A. Hutchins, 64, of Poolesville, died on Saturday November 6, 2010.
He was the husband of Ruth A. Hutchins.
Born on April 29, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son Mamie Mancuso Hutchins and the late Paul Ambrose Hutchins.
Surviving besides his wife are his children; Paul Hutchins, Jr. (Kim), Ashley Marchionini (Brian), John Hutchins; one brother, Ed Hutchins; one sister, Debbi Hutchins-Schachner; five grandchildren, Ethan, Sophia and Quinn Marchionini and Maddie and Beth Hutchins.
Paul was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Chloe Marchionini.
The family will receive friends on Friday November 12 from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. directions
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday November 13 at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 17230 Tom Fox Ave., Poolesville.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church cemetery, Barnesville. Light refreshments will follow the interment at the Willow Tree Inn, Montgomery Village Golf Club, Montgomery Village, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Football Scholarship Endowment at ECU Foundation, Ward Sports Medicine Building, Greenville, NC, 27858

Theresa M. Rizzo

Mrs. Theresa M. Rizzo, 80, of Boyds, died on Wednesday November 3, 2010 at her residence.
She was the loving wife of James Vincent Rizzo.
Born on March 22, 1930 in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine Sullivan Scholtz.
Surviving besides her husband are her four children; Halinah Rizzo-Busack (James), Donna Mitchell (Thomas), James Rizzo (Camille) and Terry Bendick (Paul).
She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, November 5th, from 7-9pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd, (Rt. 109), Barnesville. directions
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday November 6th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville.
Interment will follow in Resthaven cemetery, Frederick.

Vera L. Seymour

Mrs. Vera L. Seymour, 88, of Florence, SC, formerly a long-time resident of Poolesville, died November 1, at her home in Florence.
She was the wife of the late William L. Seymour
Born February 25, 1922 in Sully County, SD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Weischedel Flood.
She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Poolesville, where she served as the assistant treasurer for 31 years. Vera was also a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Alexandria, VA, All Saints Episcopal Church of Florence and the American Legion Daniel Jeffers Post 247.
She is survived by her two children: David L. Seymour (Zenaida) of Hercules, CA, Mary C. Wunder (Phillip, San Pedro, CA) of Florence; two sisters Alice West, Minnie Mae Claggett both of Pierre, SD; five grandchildren, Anne Yumang, Sandra Seymour, Edna Vivo, Timothy and Patrick Raison and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Alma McDonnell and Hazel Marshall
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, November 4th, from 7-9pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd, (Rt. 109), Barnesville. directions
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11am, Friday, November 5th at Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Vera's name.

Marjorie (Bitsy) Marvin Brown (Age 77)

Departed this life on January 12, 2013 in the loving care of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. Brown for over 56 years and the loving and caring mother of sons James E. Brown (Poolesville, MD), Timothy W. Brown (Los Angeles, CA), and Matthew W. Brown (New Market, MD). She is also survived by her loving and caring sisters Patricia Arntson (and husband Steve) and Judy Majors, four loving grandchildren (Jess, Tucker, Dianna, and Andy), and an extended family of loving brother and sister-in-laws (Imogene and Skip McClung), daughters-in-law (Gabi Jacob, Eva Perez, Gail Brown), step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends, including her care-givers and buddies (Norma Haas, Patty Diller, and Sherri Wilcom) and her friends at the Red Hat Society. Special thanks go out to those who helped to take care of mom during her last days, including the techs and nurses in the 2C Hospice/Oncology Unit at Frederick Memorial Hospital. "Mom" passed with the same dignity and love in which she led her life.
A memorial and celebration of the life of Marge Brown will be held on Saturday January 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM with reception to follow at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 South Main Street, Mount Airy, MD 21771. Interment will be held in a private ceremony on Sunday (January 20) at National Memorial Park in Falls Church VA. In lieu of flowers donations can and should be made to Hospice of Frederick County or to the Calvary United Methodist Church of Mount Airy MD.

Walter R. "Bud" Gibson, Sr.

Walter R. "Bud" Gibson, Sr., 76, of Ijamsville, formerly of Wheaton, died on January 11, 2013.
He was the husband of Carolyn Gibson.
Born on October 9, 1936 in Dickerson, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Jessie (Poole) Gibson.
Surviving besides his wife are his children, Michelle I. Williams (Jason), W. Raymond Gibson, Jr. (Candi), Lisa Daffan, Lesley and Richard Gibson; one sister, Irene Dixon; one brother, E. Michael Gibson and three grandchildren, Cheyanne, Wyatt and Morgan.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Claude "Hoot", Lawrence "Fritz", Robert and David Gibson.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday January 14 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt 109), Barnesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday January 15 at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 17821 Elgin Rd., Poolesville.
Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wilson Health Care Center (Asbury Methodist Village), Alzheimer's Association, or the American Heart Association.

Mary E. Bucheimer-Menter

Mary Elizabeth Menter, 52, of Dickerson, MD died on January 9, 2013.
Born May 14, 1960, she was the daughter of George E. Bucheimer and the late Mary (Atwood) Bucheimer.
Surviving is one daughter, Destiny Autumn Orion Baily; one brother, Michael Preston Bucheimer; two granddaughters, Harmony Brielle Boyce, Ava J Ray Seals and one grandson, Davis Sheperd Seals.
Mary was also preceded in death by one brother, George E. Bucheimer.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday January 16 from 6-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt 109), Barnesville, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the International Lymes and Associated Diseases Society, ILADEF, P.O. Box 341461 Bethesda, Maryland 20827-1461 in memory of Mary Bucheimer-Mentor.

Jeffrey Banana, 46, of Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.

Elmer S. Bell

Elmer Stanley Bell passed away on Tuesday, January 9th, 2013 with his family in Poolesville, MD. Elmer was a resident of Plantation Park in Frankford, DE and also at the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Millsboro, DE. Elmer was the loving husband of Elaine Augustin Bell who passed away on July 21, 2011 in Millsboro, DE. Born on March 16, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of Elmer Fred Gaska and Lorna Holt Meade. He was formerly married to Carole Crosby Bell of Los Angeles, CA and Sumter, SC. Elmer often went by his middle name "Stan". Elmer served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Chapman University in Orange, CA. An accountant by profession, he worked for various firms in the Los Angeles area, the US Government in Washington DC and for the town of Bethany Beach, DE. He was an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America and the Lions Club. Hobbies included deep sea fishing, model airplanes and baseball. He sang in the church choir, and was an avid gardener. He attended Community Lutheran Church in Omar, DE. He is survived by his brother Roy Bell of Los Angeles, CA, his son Douglas Bell of Poolesville, MD, and his daughters Robin Williams of Sumter SC and Kathleen Teff of Simsbury, CT. Grand children include Sarah Bell and Douglas Bell, Jr. of Poolesville, MD, Christopher Williams of West Columbia, SC, Courtney Williams of Sumter, SC, Ryan Crosby of Boston, MA, Ashley Carlson of Adrian, MI and Adam Teff of Simsbury, CT. He will be missed.

Minnie R. Yokley

Minnie R. Yokley, 87, of Mt. Airy, died on January 6, 2013 at the Carroll County Hospital in Westminster.
She was the wife of the late James Yokley.
Born on August 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Townsend and Minnie (Murphy) Page.
Surviving are her children, Sue King of WV, Norma Spencer of Mt. Airy, Phyllis Lewis and husband Brendan of Mt. Airy, Mike Yokley of Waynesboro, PA, Shirley Yokley of Hagerstown, Bruce Yokley of Waldorf, Bob Yokley and wife Pat of Germantown, Tom Yokley and wife Joan of Iowa, Darlene Yokley of Hagerstown; one sister, Mary Mills of Waldorf; 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by one son, Morris Yokley and two sisters Betty and Gladys.
Minnie love flowers and gardening, loved her family and others. She would go without if it meant helping someone.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 9 from 5-8pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD, where funeral services will be held on Thursday January 10 at 11am.
Interment will follow in Boyds Presbyterian Church cemetery, Boyds, MD.
