Michael S. Poe

Michael S. Poe, 23, of Clarksburg, MD on January 1, 2013.
Born on April 14, 1989 he was the son of Steven and Leslie Poe.
Also surviving are his two brothers, Matthew and Mitchell, paternal grandparents, Bob and Gayle Poe of Warrenton, VA and maternal grandmother, Janet Curtis of Alexandria, VA
He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Curtis.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday January 7 from 4-8 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD 20838 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday January 8.
Interment will follow the Mass in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haiti Twinning Mission (www.st-josephs-haiti.com)

Denise M. LeGrand

Denise M. LeGrand, 42, of Frederick, died suddenly on December 28, 2012 at her residence.
Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Leonard; two daughters, Alexis Le Grand and Alyssa Le Grand; one sister, Theresa and her husband, Jody Holston; one brother, Craig Leonard and his wife, Jessica Gearing Leonard.
Denise was the aunt to Paige Holston and Makenzie Holston; the granddaughter of Genevieve Santucci, Evelyn Hudson, and the niece of Dan Santucci, Joyce and Tom McCartin, Jennine Cornell, Bryan and Sue Santucci, Nancy and Tony LaBella, Bob and Janet Hudson, Jackie Leonard, Carol and Fred Donatelli, and June Rockhold.
She will be missed by a large number of wonderful cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Rd., Barnesville, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary's at P.O. Box 67, Barnesville, MD 20838.

Thomas L. Jentz

Thomas L. Jentz, 66, of Germantown, MD on December 29, 2012.
He was an author of 93 books on WWII German Tanks.
He was the husband of Franziska Jentz, father of Kathy and Ullrich Jentz, brother of Joyce Eikenberry, Nila Buckler and Dr. David Jentz.
Tom is also survived by two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday January 5, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.

Patrick J. Donnelly

Patrick J. Donnelly, 82, of Boyds, MD died peacefully on December 20, 2012 at Manor Care of Potomac.
Born on September 4, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Ann (Cooney) Donnelly. Pat was a graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School class of 1949. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his discharge he worked for Catholic University and SAMBA HMO. Pat was proud of his Irish ancestry. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnesville, MD and the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Fatima Council 6901.
Surviving is his sister, Mary Corrigan; brother, Thomas Donnelly and wife Stella; three nieces, Theresa Donnelly, Mary Corrigan, Helen Tai and husband Chiang; two nephews, John Corrigan and Charles Corrigan, Jr. and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Shirley M.Paulson

Shirley M. Paulson, 83, of Montgomery Village, MD, on December 19, 2012.
She was the wife of Louis Paulson.
Born on February 10, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Marigold (Schneithorst) Davis.
Surviving besides her husband is one son, Dwight David Paulson (Gail) of Gaithersburg, MD, one sister, Joyce Nicholson of FL, one granddaughter, Melanie Shur, and nieces and nephews in Missouri, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Ohio.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 22 from 10-11am at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., Barnesville, MD, with funeral services at 11 am.
Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville, MD
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Shirley Paulson to Manna Food Center, 9311 Gaither Rd., Gaithersburg, MD 20877

Grace E. Egan

On December 18, 2012, Grace Eloise Egan passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on January 5, 1920 in Vancouver, Canada, she led a full and accomplished life in Canada, California, New York and Maryland. During World War II, she took great pride in serving the Allied Forces, working with Sir William Stephenson's British Security Coordination Office at the Rockefeller Center in New York, NY, and in Camp X in Ontario, Canada.
Grace was the beloved wife of late William Egan Sr., the loving mother of sons Bill, Tom and Bob, and the beloved grandma of Lindsey, Maggie, George, Cecile, Kevin, Jessie, Matthew and Katie.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a funeral mass on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Ann's Infant & Maternity Home, 4901 Eastern Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20782.

Michael T. Abbaticchio

Michael Tyler Abbaticchio of Comus, Md passed away on December 14, 2012.
He was born in Washington, DC to the late Howard and Vera(Tyler) Abbaticchio.
He graduated from Einstein High School and then received a biochemistry degree from the University of Georgia. Mike returned home where he worked for Litton Bionetics before starting his own successful business, Comus Design and Construction.
Mike is survived by his wife Krista and their three daughters Tara, Jamie and Michele as well as his sister Toni Kuhn and husband Dick, and surrogate son and business partner Teddy Newman. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who considered him a mentor and role model.
The family will be receiving friends during a celebration of Mike's life on Dec. 27th 6-9pm at the Rockville Civic Center Glenview Mansion at 603 Edmonston Dr. Rockville, Md 20851 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's name to Habitat For Humanity (habitat.org)

Frances E. Watson

Frances E. Watson, 91, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Rockville, MD, on December 12, 2012.
She was the wife of the late Morris Paul Watson.
Surviving are her children, Judy Patterson (Gary), Paul Watson, Ronald Watson (Linda), Cheryl Reed (Upton), Gail Watson, David Watson; one brother, George Shepherd; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, December 17 from 6-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., Barnesville, MD.
Graveside services and interment will take place at 10 am on Tuesday December 18 at Parklawn cemetery, 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD.

June L. Boxall

June L. Boxall, 54, of Hagerstown, MD, formerly of Boyds, MD passed away suddenly on Thursday December 6, 2012.
She was the loving wife of Charles Boxall and daughter of the late Clarence and Regina (Parker) Ricketts.
June was retired from the Montgomery County School Board.
Surviving besides her husband are her children, Lenny King, Rebecca King, Charles Boxall, Jr., James (Willie) Boxall; brothers, Robbie Ricketts (Donna), Ronnie Ricketts (Brenda), Danny Ricketts (Candy); sister Joan Boswell (Clarence); brother-in-law, Carl Boxall; grandchildren, Timothy and Kevin Shaw, Lucas Boxall, Colby James Wingard, Parker Hozhabri and many loved nieces and nephews. June is also survived by her mother-in-law Jo Ann Boxall and was preceded in death by her father-in-law Edward Boxall and sister Debbie Ricketts.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday December 9 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD where funeral services will be held on Monday December 10 at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Boyds Presbyterian Church cemetery, Boyds, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in June's name to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org).

Dr. Roger C. Sears

Dr. Roger C. Sears, of Poolesville, MD passed away on Wednesday, November 21 after battling metastatic melanoma.
Dr. Sears was born in York, PA on April 23, 1935. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1953, and graduated from dental school in 1960 from the University of Maryland. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962, he settled in Rockville, MD. Dr. Sears practiced dentistry in Rockville for 45 years before retiring to devote his time to the Izaak Walton League of America, an association committed to the preservation and enjoyment of the beautiful outdoors. A lifelong hunter, fisherman, and trainer of competitive hunting retrievers, Dr. Sears spent the last decade of his life working to strengthen the Izaak Walton League of America. He previously served as the Bethesda Chevy Chase Chapter treasurer, secretary, vice-president, president and was currently the Chairman of the National Executive Board of the Izaak Walton League of America. He was passionate about promoting a love of nature among young people. He also orchestrated the preservation of the 17th century cottage of its namesake in Staffordshire, England.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary, his children Margaret Heimbach of Poolesville, Maryland, Dr. Stephen Sears (Kristie) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and John Sears (Rachel) of Germantown, Maryland. He is also survived by his mother Mrs. Erna Sears of Towson MD, his sister Sandra Owings (Russell) of Towson MD, and six loving grandchildren, Matt, Kevin, and Kate Heimbach, Lauren and Caroline Sears, and Andy Sears.
A Viewing will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 25th at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Poolesville, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday November 26th at Our Lady of the Presentation. Internment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnesville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, gifts or donations may be made to the Izaak Walton League of America, 707 Conservation Lane Gaithersburg, MD 20878-2983 or to Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, P.O. Box 423 Poolesville, MD 20837.
