James Ellsworth Knudson

Mr. James E. "Ells" Knudson, 76, of Dickerson, MD on February 2, 2012.
He was the loving husband of Marilyn Neeley Knudson.
Born on January 20, 1936 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late James Kaiser and Ruth
(Ellsworth) Knudson.
Surviving besides his wife are his children, James (Cynthia) of Ellicott City, MD, Kenneth (Lola) and Daniel (Jill) both
of Poolesville, MD, Timothy (Lisa) of Buena Vista, VA, Kristine Aase (Flemming) of Florence, KY; two sisters,
Alice Mergler of Manassas, VA, Melanie Wall of Fairfax, VA; one brother, Homer Knudson of
Arlington, VA and 20 grandchildren.
There will be a viewing at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 18900 Kingsview
Dr., Germantown, MD 20874 on Tuesday February 7th from 9:30-10:30 AM where the funeral
service will follow at 11 AM.
Interment will be in Brigham City cemetery, Brigham City, UT Saturday February 11th.

Christine "Tina" K. Wright

Ms. Christine "Tina" K. Wright, 54, of Frederick, passed away on Tuesday January 31, 2012.
She was born on November 10, 1957 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Barbara (McCormick) Wright.
She is survived by her children, Jeremy Wright and wife Sheila; William Jones, wife Shelby, and grandsons Nicholas and Alex; Christina Wright, husband John Wees and grandsons Christian and Jacob. She is also survived by her siblings, Gail Galusha, Peggy Kenyon and husband Ron, Deborah Dadisman, Donald Wright, Tammy Wright, Barbara Tompkins and husband Dale, John Wright and wife Carolyn, and Kimberly Wright.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday February 3 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109) Barnesville, MD where funeral services will be held on Saturday February 4 at 3 pm.
Interment Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville, MD.

Rogar L. Odette, Jr.

Mr. Rogar L. Odette, Jr., 55, of Poolesville, MD died on Thursday January 26, 2012.
He was the son of the late Rogar L. and Joan (Long) Odette.
Surviving is one daughter, Dawn Boswell (Alan); two sisters, Stephanie Ransom and Charlotte Schroder; three brothers, Steven, Charles and John Odette and three grandchildren, Mary, Samantha and James Boswell.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday January 31 from 4-6pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD where a Memorial Service will follow at 6pm.

Deanne Deane Jennings

Mrs. Deanne D. Jennings "Dee", 73, of Beallsville, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2012 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. She was the beloved wife of the late James E. Jennings. Born on July 2, 1938 in Chetopa, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Theda Smith. Surviving are her daughter Lisa D. Jennings, her bonus daughter Pamela Hetrick (Joe), her step-children Brenda Hartman (George), James Jennings, Jr. (Terry), and Paulette Payton (Ron), her grandchildren Jeromey Hartmann, James and Jennifer Jennings, her two bonus grandchildren Joseph and Jonathan Hetrick, and her friend Michael Running. She is also survived by two brothers, Richard Smith (Sandy) of Fredericksburg, VA, Stephen Smith (Diana) of Wichita, KS; and one sister Sharon Wallace (Thad) of New-Bern NC. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday January 28th at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville with the family receiving friends one half hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dee's name to the Arthritis Foundation P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077 (arthritis.org) or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 (alz.org).

Carroll E. Bennett

Mr. Carroll E. Bennett, 82, of Dickerson, MD passed away on Thursday January 12, 2012.
He was the husband of the late Laura A. Bennett.
Born on September 10, 1929 in Kensington, MD he was the son of the late Glenn and Fedora (Thompson) Bennett.
Surviving are his three sons, Steve and Scott of Dickerson and David of Frederick. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Bennett and three brothers, Wilbur, Allan and Russell.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday January 15 from 4-6pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday January 16 at the Barnesville Baptist Church, 17917 Barnesville Rd., Barnesville.
Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Barnesville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 69, Barnesville, MD 20838.

Robert "Bob" E. Yokley

Robert "Bob" E. Yokley, passed peacefully at home, on April 9, 2013. He was the husband of Patricia L. Yokley for 48 years.
Born on October 13, 1944, he was the son of the late James Yokley and Minnie Page.
Bob was a devoted husband and father to his family, of which he was most proud.
Bob spent 50 years as a landscaper, a job he loved. Bob also enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. Throughout his life he was known as a loving, honest, hard working man that would do anything for you, if he liked you. He had a sense of humor that could not be matched.
In addition to his loving wife, Pat, he is survived by his children, Robert Yokley and wife Shelly of Harpers Ferry, WV, Laura Etchison of Frederick, April Parker and husband Tony of Frederick; his beloved yorkies, Petey and Boomer; brothers, Tom Yokley and wife Joan of Iowa, Mike Yokley of PA; sisters, Darlene Yokley of Hagerstown, Sue King, Norma Spencer, Phyllis Lewis and husband Brenden all of Mt. Airy, Shirley Yokley of Hagerstown and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Morris.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday April 12 from 5-8 pm at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd., Barnesville, MD, where funeral services will be held on Saturday April 13 at 11 am.
Interment will follow in Boyds Presbyterian Church cemetery, Boyds, MD.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Dorothy Mae Woods

Dorothy Mae "Miss Dottie" Woods, 85, of Hague, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013. She was a produce manager at Hague Supermarket. She is survived by daughters, Linda Darlene Hafer (Lee) of King George, Janet Lewis (Mark) of Thurmond, MD, Delores Jean Michaels-Woods of Frederick, MD, Jo Ann Sydnor (Greg) of Kinsale; sisters Jerlean Eader of Poolesville, MD and Catherine Maus of Hagerstown, MD; two brothers, Delter Catron of Clarksburg, MD and Junior Catron of Frederick, MD; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is a loving caregiver and friend, Alice Pierce. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Samatha Wiltrout, a brother, Raymond Luther Catron, a sister, Mildred Cullop and a close friend, Ernest Samuel Weaver.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville, MD. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel and from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, MD.

Carol T. Johnson

Carol T. Johnson, 68, of Poolesville, MD, on April 7, 2013.
She was the loving wife of Roy E. Johnson.
Surviving besides her husband is one daughter, Valerie Choinski and husband Bill; three sons, Christopher, Andrew and Brian; one grandson, Connor Choinski and two sisters-in-law, Patricia McDermott and Angelina Johnson.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday April 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 17230 Tom Fox Rd., Poolesville, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 10 at 11 AM.
Interment will be in Calvary cemetery, Woodside, New York on Saturday April 13.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA (humanesociety.org).

Una F. Harner

Mrs Una Fitzwater Harner, 84 formerly of Boyds, Maryland passed quietly on April 2, 2013, surrounded by family at her home in Frederick, Maryland.
She was the wife of the late Charles Melvin Harner, of Boyds, Maryland.
Born June 13, 1928, in Goshen, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Beulah Fitzwater.
She graduated from Poolesville High School in 1946. After 26 years of service, she retired as Postmaster of Boyds Post Office in 1991. She was a charter member of Greenridge Baptist Church in Clarksburg, Maryland. She loved her flower gardens, and watching the Redskins and Nationals games. Her interests included crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and being with her family.
She is survived by her seven children Charles Melvin Harner, Jr. and wife Hany, of Boyds; Kathie Robinson of Salisbury; Dinah Wynne and husband Eddie, of Adamstown; Terry Harner of Boyds; Robin Roberson and husband Larry, of Adamstown; Amanda Bodmer and husband Mike, of West Virginia; and Melissa Harner of Frederick, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, sisters, Carolyn Freed, of Germantown, and Curry Harding of Indiana, and brothers David of Virginia; and Dennis of Poolesville.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Willard, Kenneth, Upton, sisters Dessie Fitzwater, Velma (Betsy) Fraley, Geraldine Stark and Wilma Whitworth.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday April 5 from 5-8 pm at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD, where funeral services will be held on Saturday April 6 at 10 am.
Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, Maryland.
A reception will be held at the Boyds Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to World Vision or the American Heart Association.

Beverly A. Pickrell

Beverly Ann Pickrell, age 64, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away on March 27, 2013 at the Kline Hospice House where she was surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Paxton Earl Pickrell. The couple was wed October 6, 1971. Born on August 8, 1948 in Monarch, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John Mick Wilson and Bertha Elenor Bobbs Wilson. Beverly graduated from Dunbar Township High School in 1966. She worked as a dietary aid at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD and later at Lorien Assisted Living in Mount Airy, MD. She was an avid baker and enjoyed dining out at restaurants in the Frederick area with her husband. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time outdoors with her daughter and three cats. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. in Mount Airy. She will be remembered for her unconditional kindness to others.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: her daughter Christina Lynn Pickrell of Baltimore; sister and brother Iva Mae D'Auria and Robert Wilson of Dunbar, PA; nieces and nephews Rick D'Auria, John J. Wilson, Lee Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jeffrey Sun, and Justina Sun; and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings John "Jack" Wilson, LeRoy Wilson, Howard "Pep" Wilson, and Barbara Wilson; brother-in-laws Edward Kingston Pickrell and Francis D'Auria; and sister-in-law Eileen Wilson. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 1-3 PM and 6-8PM at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd. (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD 20838, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Rev. Ednie Merritt and Randy Gilliam will officiate. Interment will follow at Leeds Manor cemetery in Hume, VA. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Beverly's name to the American Cancer Society. (cancer.org)
