Margaret E. Watkins
EASTON - Margaret E. Watkins of Easton died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 69.
Born Feb. 24, 1928 in Easton she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Hattie Jenkins.
She attended public school in Longwoods. She worked as a domestic worker for 30 years for Mr. and Mrs. Walker. She attended St. Matthews Methodist Church in Longwoods. Her husband, Harry Watkins, is deceased.
She is survived by one step-daughter, Sheana Watkins; five sisters, Estella Jenkins of Montclair, N.J., Ella Mae Wells, Willnellie Gibson, Ann Williams and Dorothy Jenkins of Longwoods; one adopted sister, Gladys Stringfellow of N.J.; and five brothers, William Jenkins and James Jenkins of Longwoods, Raymond Jenkins of Cordova, Richard Jenkins of Cambridge and Franklin Jenkins of Preston.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 at St. Matthews U.M. Church, in Longwoods.
Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Easton.
Arrangements are by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Easton.
Ian W. Denny
STEVENSVILLE - Ian Walden Denny, infant son of Richard Carvel and Dawn Marie Walden Denny of Stevensville, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 16, 1997 in Annapolis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Rheanne Denny of Stevensville; paternal grandparents, Walter T. and Anne Tolson Denny of Stevensville; maternal grandfather, Robert Short and step-maternal grandmother, Ginny Short of Catonsville; maternal grandmother, Verona Walden Biller of Glen Burnie; paternal great-grandmother of Alice Marie Gabler of Conover, N.C.; and maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Walden of Baltimore.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 16 at Kent Island United Methodist Church, Chester. Burial was in the Denny family cemetery, Stevensville.

Elizabeth M. Eaton
EASTON - Elizabeth M. Eaton of Easton died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at Rayland Acres, Trappe. She was 93.
Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Florence Birch Meintzer.
A graduate of Easton High School in 1924, she attended Strayer Business School for two years. In 1935, she married
William Brown Eaton. They moved to Hillsboro in 1939. Her husband is deceased. In 1972 she moved to Easton where she worked as a secretary for a number of years and finally as a bank teller.
She was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, William Brown Eaton of Delaware; one sister Dorothy Barry of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16 at the Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, Easton.
Burial was in Greenmount cemetery, Hillsboro.
Emerson M. Elzey
DENTON - Emerson M. Elzey of Denton, formerly of Cambridge, died Thursday, May 14, 1998 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 91.
Born on Oct. 7, 1906 at Blackwater, he was the son of the late Marcellus Elzey and Agnes Kirwan Brand.
He attended schools in the Blackwater area. He worked as a sheet metal man for the Phillips Packing Co., Cambridge. In 1942 he went into business for himself as a plumber until his retirement in 1977. He had made his home in Vero Beach, Fla., for 18 years. He had moved to the Denton area early in May.
He had been a member of the Cambridge Wesleyan Church, Cambridge Lodge No. 66 A.F. and A.M.; Scottish Rite, Boumi Temple and York Rite Bodies.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey A. Elzey of Denton; four sons, Paul E. Elzey of Federalsburg, Richard B. Elzey of East New Market, Donald Elzey of Laurel, Del. and Michael Elzey of Cambridge; one daughter, Candice R. Holthouse of San Juan Bautista, Calif.; three step sons, Danny Short of Seaford, Del., Billy Short of Wilmington, Del. and Brian Short of Seaford, Del; one step-daughter, Carol Prahl of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Cecil Elzey and Howard C. Elzey Sr., and one sister, Maude Elzey, are deceased.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 17 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Cambridge.
Members of the Cambridge Lodge No. 66 A.F. and A.M. will conducted a memorial service.
Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Park.

Matthew W. Harrison
STEVENSVILLE - Matthew Willis Harrison of Stevensville, infant son of Gregory Neil and Nancy Elaine Glasgow Harrison of Stevensville, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1997 in Annapolis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Louis Glasgow Jr. of Chester, and paternal grandparents, Richard Harrison of Chester, and Sally Ashton of Laurel Springs, N.J.; his maternal great-grandparents, June Glasgow of Stevensville, and Ruth Martens of College Park; and his paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Ashton of West Hartford, Conn.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16 at Christ Episcopal Church, Stevensville.
Burial was in Stevensville cemetery, Stevensville.

William J. Massey
NEWCOMB - William Joseph Massey of Newcomb and Melville, La., died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 in Newcomb. He was 80.
Born on May 26, 1917 in Flora, La., he was a resident of Newcomb for 20 years.
He married
Melba Firmin on Jan. 2, 1942 in Rosa, La. Mrs. Massey died in 1989.
He was a college professor at Louisiana Tech, University of Maine
, the University of Maryland at College Park and Bowie State College. He was headmaster of Homewood School, Baltimore. He got a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Missouri in 1955.
He was a member of International Reading Association, Maryland Retired Teachers Association, American Legion, The National Arbor Day Foundation and Disabled American Veterans.
He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Massey is survived by his children, William Massey of Pleasanton, Calif., Mary Harrison Davis of Easton, and Ruth Anne Taylor of Conyers, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Allegra LaPrairie and Edith Horn; and two brothers, Ray Massey and Wilbur Massey, are deceased.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Dr. Massey's home.
