Ernest B. McCoy
STEVENSVILLE - Ernest B. McCoy of Stevensville, formerly of Camp Springs, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at his home. He was 75.
Born Aug. 17, 1922 in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Lawrence S. and Elsie Jarboe McCoy.
He was a graduate of Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. and attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and Mount St. Mary's College of Emmitsburg. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until an honorable discharge in 1946. Following his service, he married Dana Mae Beavers and went into business with his father, building homes and numerous churches. He was also a consultant for Weisburg Co., Annapolis, a construction engineer for the subway system in Washington, D.C. and for the Woftrap farm in Reston, Va.
He was a member of the Kent Island Elks Club, the Moose Lodge No. 831, the American Legion No. 273, the Kent Island Islanders and a Charter Member of the South Gate Lions Club in Camp Springs.
He is survived by one son, Stanley McCoy of Mercersburg, Pa.; one daughter, Robin Bishop of Stevensville; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
His wife, Dana Mae McCoy, died in 1996.
Committal Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18 at the Maryland Veterans cemetery, Cheltenham, Md.

Elaine M. Taylor
GREENSBORO - Elaine Marie Taylor of Greensboro died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at Corsica Hills Nursing Center. She was 57.
Born Jan. 27, 1941, in Denton, she was the daughter of Evelyn S. Taylor of Greensboro and the late Wayman W. Taylor Sr.
She attended schools in Palmyra, N.J. and in Caroline County. She was a graduate of Queen Anne's County Licensed Practical Nurse Training Program and had been employed at St. Gertrude's Priory for 19 years.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Greensboro, and Fellowship Chapter No. 58, O.E.S.
In addition to her mother, Ms. Taylor is survived by a son, Howard Taylor of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Rowena Johnson of Tampa, Fla., Deidre Taylor-Oross of Bel Air, Md. and Bridgett C. Jones of Houston; two brothers, Wayman W. Taylor of Baltimore and Vernon A. Taylor of Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Edith T. Elzie of Bear, Del. and A. Michele Wayman of Hillsboro; her grandmother, Arveia Scofield of Denton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at noon, Tuesday, May 19, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Greensboro. Burial was at Coker cemetery, Greensboro.
Arrangements are by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Easton.

Reba F. Gebhardt
ROCK HALL - Reba Foreman Gebhardt, formerly of Rock Hall, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Magnolia Hall Nursing Center, Chestertown. She was 98.
Born at Rock Hall, she was the daughter of the late James and Emma Urie Downey.
Mrs. Gebhardt was a homemaker and resided in Baltimore until returning to Kent County in 1995. Her first husband was Raymond Foreman.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rock Hall.
Mrs. Gebhardt is survived by a daughter, Ethel Beard, and one son, Robert Foreman, both of Baltimore; a sister, Mary Messick of Rock Hall; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, George Gebhardt died in 1989. A daughter, Louise Edwards died in 1988.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Rock Hall. Burial was at Wesley cemetery.

W. Earl Lewis
CAMBRIDGE - W. Earl Lewis of Cambridge died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Dorchester General Hospital. He was 78.
Born June 18, 1919, near Vienna, Md., he was the son of the late Frank Levin and Blanche Murphy Lewis.
He attended public schools in Vienna and as a young man was employed as driver with Phillips Transport. During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He later was a driver with Service Trucking Company and Preston Trucking. In 1997 he retired from Phillips Oil Company.
He was a member of Dorchester Post No. 91, American Legion, Choptank Memorial Post No. 7460 V.F.W., and Cambridge Yacht Club. He was a former member of Cambridge Country Club and Cambridge Elks Lodge.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Gould, to whom he was married Dec. 22, 1939; two daughters, Ann L. Webster and Denise L. Wheatley, both of Cambridge; two sisters, Mabel Bell and Sarah Hurley, both of Vienna; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Della Thompson and Thelma Lewis, and two brothers, Monroe Lewis and James Lewis.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Thomas Funeral Home, Cambridge. Burial was at Maryland Veterans cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Fund, c/o Lorraine Dickerson, 10 Harris Drive, Cambridge, Md. 21613.

Pearl V. Patrick
CORDOVA - Pearl Virginia Patrick of Cordova died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 88.
Born Aug. 7, 1909, near Gorman in Garrett County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Amos Dorsey and Mary Fike Harvey. Her husband, Lloyd Calvin Patrick died Jan. 23, 1993.
Mrs. Patrick is survived by a son, Lawarence C. Patrick of Cordova; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Fairview Church cemetery, Cordova.
Memorial donations may be made to Cordova Volunteer Firemen's Association Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 102, Cordova, Md. 21625.
Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Easton.

Jennifer M. Wright
DENTON - Jennifer M. Wright of Federalsburg died in Easton, Thursday, May 14, 1998, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 38.
Born in Easton, she was the daughter of Jack J. Anthony Jr. of Greensboro and that late Grace Ellen Walters.
Mrs. Wright was employed as an assistant manager at the High's Store in Denton.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband, Gordon L. Wright, a daughter, Trisha Wright, and one son, Gordon L. Wright Jr., all of Federalsburg; and five sisters, Sandra Peterson and Pamela Poe, both of Weathford, Tex., Jacquelyn Anders of Ridgely, Beverly McNeal of Hillsboro, and Edith Corkell of Denton. A brother, Howard Jennings Anthony III died July 16, 1995.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, at Moore Funeral home, Denton. Burial was at Bloomery cemetery, Federalsburg.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa., 19140.

Alexander Seiler
GREENSBORO - Alexander "Sonny" Seiler of Greensboro died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Easton. He was 83.
Born March 1, 1915, in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late Steve and Mary Cera Seiler. His wife, Ruth Pinder Seiler died Sept. 3, 1994.
Mr. Seiler had resided in Greensboro since 1929, and was a graduate of Greensboro High School. He had been self-employed as a welder for 53 years.
He was a life member of Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company, a member of Greensboro Lions Club, and the Order of Redmen.
Mr. Seiler is survived by two daughters, Beverly Garris of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Veronica Woody of Shalimar, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 18, at Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro. Burial was at Greensboro cemetery.
