Bernard Thurman Becker, Jr.
U.S. Army Viet Nam Veteran
Bernard Thurman Becker, Jr., 64 of Charlotte Hall, MD died at Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, MD.
Born on July 26, 1941 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Bernard Thurman, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Higdon Becker. He worked in construction as a Dry Wall Mechanic. Prior he served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his sister, Ruth L. Morgan of Mechanicsville, MD and a brother, Richard A. Becker of Columbus, Ohio. A brother James R. Becker predeceases him.
Service and Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2006 at Arlington National cemetery Columbarium.

Donald Joseph Eccard
U. S. Army Korean War Veteran
Donald Joseph Eccard of Charlotte Hall, Maryland died on December 15, 2005 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. He was 70 years old.
Born September 28, 1935 in Myersville, MD to the late Nellie Farmer and Joseph Eccard. He was raised in Frederick County, MD and graduated from Middletown High School. Mr. Eccard served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War before being Honorably Discharged in 1962. After the service, Mr. Eccard was a self-employed building contractor.
His daughters Donna Gregory of Madison, CT, Diana Tolland of Deal Island, MD, 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive him.
Memorial services 2PM Saturday, January 7, 2005 at Dent Chapel of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home Charlotte Hall, MD with the Reverend William McClean officiating. Interment 2PM Monday, January 9, 2005 at the Maryland Veterans cemetery Cheltenham, Maryland.

DOROTHY BRIDGET TIRIMACCO
Dorothy Bridget Tirimacco, 63, died at home on January 3, 2006 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She retired in 2001 as an executive secretary for the Office of Thrift Supervision after 23 years of dedicated service. Ms Tirimacco was a longtime resident of Waldorf and resided in Mechanicsville for the past nine years.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking, reading, the company of her pets and was an avid gardener as shown by the many beautiful gardens surrounding her home. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was an active participant in many civic and social organizations including the Northern Senior Center, National Association of Retired Employees, 5th District Homemakers Club, Companions and Buddies for Singles and the Red Hat Society.
Ms. Tirimacco was a devoted mother, a good friend to many and a dedicated volunteer who was loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
It was Dorothy’s request that expressions of sympathy be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund or the Northern Senior Center.
One of her sons, Gary Jon Cushenette and a brother Etalo Tirimacco preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children Peter P. Cushenette of Massachusetts, Christopher P. Cushenette of North Carolina and Eric C. Cushenette of Odenton, MD; two sisters Edelia Citino and Lydia Darress; two brothers Pasquale and Anthony Tirimacco all of Massachusetts; four grandchildren Anthony, Danielle, Joshua and Nicole.

Frances G Freeman
Frances G. Freeman of Mechanicsville, Maryland died January 1, 2006 at the St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD. She was 86 years old.
Born April 16, 1919 in Washington, DC to the late Maria and Fortunato Gioffre. She was a Key Punch Operator for United Association. Mrs. Freeman enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo and visiting with the people and the staff at St. Mary’s Nursing Center. She was a member of the Senior Citizens group in Chaptico.
In addition to her parents, her husband Stanley F. Freeman, son-in-law Donald Green, ten brothers and sisters including her twin sister Toni Gioffre, preceded Mrs. Freeman in death.
She is survived by her daughters Anna Raulerson and Patricia J. Green; son-in-law David Raulerson; grandchildren Kelly S. and her husband Mark Bowling, Dana and her husband Jeffrey Wallace, Anee Raulerson and her significant other Garrett Rowe, Terry and his wife Gerry Ann Green and Travis Green; great grandchildren Madison Wallace and Trevor Wallace; two brothers and four sisters.
Family to receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Marcie Lynn Harris
Marcie Lynn Harris of Mechanicsville, Maryland died December 31, 2005 at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, MD. She was 35 years old.
Born on April 23, 1970 in Cheverly, MD to Cordelia White Blake and the late Cecil Wright. She was a homemaker and mom who enjoyed latch hook work, movies and especially her kids. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, MD.
In addition to her mother, Marcie is survived by her husband Wade Steven Harris Jr.; step-father Fred C. Blake Sr.; children Amanda Wright, Nicole Palmer, Shane Steven Harris, Brandon Ryan Harris and Nicolas Nathan Harris; sisters Cecilia Marshall, Tammy Blake and Donna Blake; brothers Garland E. Wright, Fred Blake Jr. and John Blake; numerous other relatives and friends.
Family to receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 11AM to 1PM with Services beginning at 1PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Rd. Charlotte Hall, MD with Pastor Campbell officiating. Interment Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, Maryland.

Arnold Dean Miller
U. S. Navy Veteran
Arnold Dean “A.D.” Miller, 66, of Leonardtown, MD died December 25, 2005 in National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD.
Born April 20, 1939 in North Carolina he was the son of the late Ray and Bertie Rowe Reese Miller. He was the loving husband of Norma Gail Flaherty Miller whom he married in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Compton, MD. He is survived by his children; Norma Gail Yearick of Drayden, MD, Charlene Mae Burton and Ray N. Miller both of California, MD; brothers and sisters; Joyce Fridell of Florida, Star – Dust Miller and Grace Henderson both of North Carolina and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 grandchild.
Mr. Miller was a graduate of Hickory High School Class of 1957 and moved to St. Mary’s County in 1970 from Florida. He worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Naval Air Station, Patuxent River for 47 years until his retirement in 2004. He also served as a Chief in the U.S. Navy.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 10; 00 – 11; 00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11; 00 AM with Father John Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Flaherty, Mark Flaherty, Chad Keller, Roger Burton, Burress Rodgers, Jr. and Nelson Conden. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, St. Mary’s County Unit, P.O. Box 1032, Lexington Park, MD 20653.

Victor Joseph Fenwick, Sr
Victor Joseph Fenwick, Sr., 90 of Hollywood, MD, died on December 24, 2005 in Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, MD. Born on October 9, 1915 in Hollywood, MD, he was one of fourteen children born to the late John W. Fenwick and Blanche B. Fenwick. He attended Phyllis Wheatly Elementary School. After completing his education he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in Virginia during which time he met and married the lovely Nannie Rebecca Jones on January 14, 1940. This union lasted until her death in May 1979. Their marriage was blessed with twelve children. Victor was a construction worker specializing in cement finishing. He was known for his ability to make measurements by “sight.” He was an avid outdoors man enjoying fishing, oystering, crabbing, gardening and hunting. He especially enjoyed the taste of wild game. He was also an accomplished mechanic and handyman. Victor was a compassionate family man who will always be alive in the memory of his family and friends.
He was preceded by his wife of 39 years and one of his seven sons, Douglas Fenwick and grandson, Derek Kane. Victor leaves behind 11 children, Geraldine Glasper of Great Mills, MD, Victor J. Fenwick, Jr. of Round Hill, VA, Deloris Thompson of Hollywood, MD, Thomas Fenwick of Waldorf, MD, Regina Jackson of Forestville, MD, Leon Fenwick of Hyattsville, MD, Ernell Kane of Hollywood, MD, Eugene Fenwick of Hollywood, MD, Paul Fenwick of New Carrolton, MD, Michael Fenwick of Washington, DC and Diane Barnes of Ft. Washington, MD; his sister Gertrude Wallace of Buffalo, NY; his sister-in-law Eva Jones; 25 grand children; 16 great grand children; 5 great, great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 9; 00 a.m. until 11; 00 a.m. in St. John Francis Regis Church, Hollywood, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11; 00 a.m. with the Reverend Raymond Schmidt as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

James Raymond "Buddy" Hoover
On December 18, 2005, formerly of Cheltenham, MD. Beloved husband of Euia Hoover. He is also survived by his loving children, Debbie Dorr, Michelle (Joe), Albright and Nicole (Andy) Xander; three grandchildren Kevin, Rebecca and Alyssa; and two great-grandchildren Kaylie and Brianna. Viewing will be held on Monday December 26 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Lee Funeral Home, Inc. Branch Ave. and Coventry Way Clinton, MD. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 11; 00am at Christ Church of Accokeek 600 Bryan Point Road Accokeek, MD. Interment church cemetery.

Margaret Mary Barolet,
Margaret Mary Barolet, 90, of Leonardtown, MD, died peacefully in the company of her family on December 21, 2005 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD, formerly of North Town Creek.
She was born Margaret Mary Barron on December 6, 1915 in Stamford, CT. First daughter of Frank and Mary Barron of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Margaret graduated from Mount Saint Vincent’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She then embarked on a career in social work, serving people living in outports of Newfoundland. Later she accepted a position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stephenville, Newfoundland. While working as a secretary, she fell in love with Staff Sergeant John A. Barolet of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was from Rhode Island. They were married on July 4, 1942. She is the beloved mother of eight children, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She moved with her family to St. Mary’s County in April 1948. She was a devoted member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lexington Park. She practiced her love of music as an organist for Mass and other occasions. She was active in Little Flower School’s PTA for many years, and was elected president for two terms. While her children attended St. Mary’s Academy and Ryken High School, she volunteered with The Girl Scouts and The St. Vincent d’Paul Society. She was active in the Town Creek Garden Club and organized the “Do Nothing Club”, a women’s coffee club which shared laughter and friendship for many years. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, gardening, knitting and crafts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years; John A. Barolet, her eight children; Grace O’Brien, Katherine Brice, Francis Barolet and wife Diane, Jane Crawley and fiancé Gary Bennett, Margaret Candelaria and husband Del, John Barolet and wife Maureen, Rosemary Watson, Ed Barolet and wife Sharon. In addition she is survived by 12 grandchildren; Jim, Tawni, Troy, Kevin, Mark, Ryan, Brian, Michael, Paul, David, Shenan and Chelsea as well as two great grandchildren; Sierra and Meghan. She is also survived by sister Rosemary Barron of St. John’s, Newfoundland and brother John Barron of Nova Scotia.
Friends may call at the Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown, MD on December 26, 2005 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 7; 00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 11; 00 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lexington Park, MD. Family and friends are invited for a reception in the church hall following interment.

John Harold Williams
John Harold Williams, 69 of Waldorf, MD died of lung cancer on December 21, 2005 at his home.
He was a 1954 graduate of La Plata High School and served in the D.C. and Maryland National Guard in the 1960’s. He retired in 1993 with over 30 years of service as an electrician for the Department of the Army at Fort Meyer, Virginia. He enjoyed spending time with family, most of all his grandchildren. His hobbies included gardening, landscaping, guitar playing, classic cars, coin collecting and especially hunting.
Born on July 10, 1936 in Wicomico, MD, he was the son of John M. and Catherine J. Guy Williams. In addition to his parents, his sister Edna Mae Thompson preceded him in death.
Survived by his wife, Janice A. Williams, sons, John H. (Skip) Williams, Jr., David M. Williams, Richard B. Williams and his wife Christina, Steven E. Williams and his wife Tracy; sister, Mary C. Friedrich and her husband Sonny; 10 grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where a Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Reverend Keith Corrick will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, J. Larry Cusic, George Cusic, Richard B. Williams Jr., Branden M. Williams and Terry Brown.

Marie Josephine Burton
Marie Josephine Burton, 95, of Avenue, MD, died on December 16, 2005 in St. Mary’s Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD.
Born on January 13, 1910 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Paul Sgueo and Claire Nardiello Sgueo. Mrs. Burton worked the assistant to the Dean at Georgetown University Graduate School for more than 20 years. She was a sculptress and played the piano.
She is survived by her son, Robert W. Burton, II and his wife Lynn of Avenue, MD, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters, Elinore Hurley, Olive Kemper, Jeanne Clark and a brother, Vincent Sgueo all of FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Burton in 1984.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11; 30 a.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home chapel in Leonardtown, MD. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery, Suitland, MD.

Melvin L Jones,
U. S. Marines, Korea, Viet Nam Veteran
Melvin L. Jones, 78 a retired Marine Master Sergeant and journalist died December 17th at his home in La Plata, MD. Msgt. Jones was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Laconia, NH. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1968 and had a second 20 year career as a reporter for the Navy Times, covering Marine Corps events worldwide. As a Marine, he fought in Korea in 1952, where he earned a Bronze Start Medal, with Combat V for valor and a Purple Heart; He also served in Vietnam, earning a Navy Commendation Metal for Combat V.
He was a Chief Writer for Leatherneck Magazine from 1961-1965. Msgt. Jones is predeceased by his wife Phyllis, survived by his children Debra, Keith, and Andrea, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Family will receive friends on Wednesday December 21st at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home from 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 22nd at noon at the St. Mary's Newport Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.

Erma Raley Watson
Erma Raley Watson of Mechanicsville, Maryland died on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at her home. She was 83 years old.
Born April 2, 1922 in Calvert County, Maryland to the late Ida Louise Hardesty Buckmaster and Walter Buckmaster. She was a Registered Nurse for most of her life until retiring in 1973. She enjoyed teddy bear collecting, quilting and needlework. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George W. Watson and her sister Betty (Ann) Hamilton.
She is survived by her daughters Sister Judy Raley, SCN of Chattanooga, TN, Constance Bevins of Bernardsville, NJ, Melanie Dumont of Coventry, RI, Nancy Hahn of Las Vegas, NV and Jean Sinatra of Las Vegas, NV; sons Martin Raley of Marlton, NJ, James Raley of Mechanicsville, MD and Patrick Raley of Strasburg, VA; sisters Roberta Rawlings of Prince Frederick, MD and Evelyn Wood of Huntingtown, MD; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Family to receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8PM with Prayers at 6; 30PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, MD. Mass of the Resurrection to be offered at 9AM on Friday, December 23, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Mechanicsville, MD with the Reverend Peter Alliata officiating. Interment to follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens in Strasburg, VA at 2PM Friday, December 23, 2005.
