Sadie V. D'Armi
FEDERALSBURG - Sadie Victoria D'Armi of Federalsburg died Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at her home. She was 86.
Born May 29, 1911 in Brookview, Dorchester County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lillian Jackson. Her husband, Thomas D'Armi Sr., died Sept. 9, 1984.
She and her husband owned a shoe store and repair shop for many years in Federalsburg.
Mrs. D'Armi is survived by two daughters, Betty Happersett and Barbara Williams, both of Federalsburg; a son, Thomas D'Armi Jr. of Durham, N.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Robert H. D'Armi, died on Oct. 22, 1992.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, Federalsburg. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Federalsburg.
Joyce R. T. Landman
ROCK HALL - Joyce Richella Turner Landman of Bellevue/Rock Hall died Sunday, May 17, 1998 at her home. She was 58.
Born Nov. 15, 1939 in Bellevue, she was the daughter of Howard Otis Turner of Bellevue and the late Harriett Louise Jackson Turner.
She was a graduate from Moton High School and attended Morgan State University, Baltimore.
She was employed by the State of Maryland Comptroller of Treasury for 14 years. She was an active and lifetime member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Bellevue. She also attended Refuge Temple Church of God in Cambridge.
In addition to her father, she is survived by one son, Alex A. Green of Bellevue; two daughters, Harriett L. Ennels of Cambridge and Anita L. Gibson of Easton; six brothers, Gerald O. Turner of Bellevue, Maurice S. Turner of Lothina, Ga., Gene C. Turner of Upper Marlboro, Hilbert H. Turner of Royal Oak, Ronald C. Turner of Easton and Warren P. Turner of Atlanta, Ga.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Bellevue.
Burial was in Maryland Veterans cemetery, Beulah.
Arrangements are by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Easton.
William Lockerman
DENTON - William "Billy Ray" Lockerman of Denton died Tuesday, May 19, 1998 in Dover, Del. as the result of injuries in a truck accident. He was 59.
Born in Easton, he was the son of Anna Elmira Stevens Lockerman of Denton and the late William Thomas Lockerman.
A lifelong Denton resident, he was a self-employed certified welder and truck driver. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
In addition, to his mother he is survived by one son, W. Lance Lockerman of Denton; one daughter, Kerry Cooney of Denton; one brother, T. Alan Lockerman of Denton; three grandchildren; and a loving companion, Martha Passwaters.
One brother, Wendell Lockerman, is deceased.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23 at the Moore Funeral Home, Denton, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
Joseph E. Magrogan Jr.
QUEENSTOWN - Joseph Edward Magrogan Jr. of Queenstown died Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at Meridian, Genesis Eldercare, Corsica Hills Nursing Center, Centreville. He was 86.
Born April 22, 1912 in Sudlersville, he was the son of the late Joseph Edward and Mary Malloy Magrogan.
He attended school at McGinnis Corner, and later in Lynch, Md.
He married
Bernadette Graham of Chestertown, on Sept. 17, 1940. They made their home at the Glenn L. Martin Farms where he was a herdsman. He later worked for Blakeford Farms and others. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Queenstown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Patrick C. Magrogan of Cordele, Ga. and Albert J. Magrogan of Deland, Fla.; two daughters, Josephine Cecelia Harding of Federalsburg and Louise Remmert of Glen Burnie; one brother, John Magrogan of Baltimore; three sisters, Lida Andrews of Centreville, Katherine Besse of Worton and Julia Reardon of New Castle, Del.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Queenstown. Friends may call at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, Centreville on Friday, May 22 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Church cemetery.
Emma G. McGuire
KENNEDYVILLE - Emma Gatsch McGuire of Kennedyville, formerly of Toms River, N.J., died Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at her home on Sycamore Farm. She was 90.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Augusta Kerber Gatsch. She lived in Philadelphia, Pa. until her family moved to Toms River, N.J. when she was eight years old. On March 17, 1929, she married
Benjamin A. McGuire, president of McGuire Brothers Inc., Bey Lea Farm Dairy in Toms River, N.J. The farm was purchased by Dover Township for a golf course in 1965. In 1966 she moved to the Eastern Shore with her husband, son, and his family, settling at Sycamore Farm in 1967.
She was an original member of Chestertown Baptist Church. Mr. McGuire is deceased.
She is survived by one daughter, The Rev. Emma McGuire Mitchell of Toms River, N.J.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at Chestertown Baptist Church.
Burial was in Christ I.U. cemetery, Worton.
Marjorie Waters
KENNEDYVILLE - Marjorie Waters of Kennedyville died Sunday, May 17, 1998 at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 71.
Born in Delaware County, Pa., she was the daughter of Dorothea Gilmore Duncan of Broomall, Pa. and the late Andrew Duncan.
Mrs. Waters, along with her late husband, owned and operated Mar-Stans Inc., an unfinished furniture retail business in Chadds Ford, Pa. for 25 years. Following their retirement they moved to the Kent County area, in 1979.
She was an active church member and taught Sunday School for a number of years. She volunteered her time play the piano in several local nursing homes. She was also a volunteer at the Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Glen Waters of Kennedyville and Gordon Waters of Roseland, Va.; one daughter, Linda Koreny of Christiana, Pa.; one brother, Raymond Duncan of Glen Mills, Pa.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Her husband, Stanley Waters, died in December 1990.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23 at the Chestertown Baptist Church Auditorium, Chestertown. Burial will be at Crumpton cemetery.

Rachel Michelotti
CHURCH CREEK - Rachel H. Michelotti, a longtime Church Creek town commissioner, died at home in Church Creek on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999. She was 79.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1921 in Sagertown, Pa.
While residing in Pennsylvania, she worked in management for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western Pennsylvania. In 1982, she retired and moved with her husband to Church Creek.
Mrs. Michelotti was a communicant of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Golden Hill, where she also participated in the Liturgy Of the Mass.
Treasurer for the town of Church Creek for 10 years, she was an elected commissioner for 12 years.
A member of the Church Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, she had for 12 years contributed her baked goods for fire department events and to other organizations in the neighboring communities. She was also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, Joseph E. Michelotti of Church Creek, she is survived by a son, Bruce Michelotti of Troy, Mich.; two sisters, Alice Hermansan and Edith McElhamy of California; three brothers, Don Higby of Meadville, Pa., and Len Higby and Gene Higby, both of Florida, and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Golden Hill, where the family received friends at 9 a.m. A private burial followed at St. Peter and Paul cemetery, Marple Township, Delaware County, near Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to st. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, P.O. Box 218, Cambridge, MD 21613.
