On Monday, February 18, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Our beloved Perrine Stataria DeShield departed this earth. She is survived by her sisters Frances DeShield-Freeman, and McRinna DeShield. CHARLES LEWIS FALVEY, SR. (Age 93)
A life-long resident of Washington, died February 9, 2013. Mr. Falvey, a World War II Army veteran who served in the 80th Division, was a Federal careerist with the General Services Administration and the Department of the Navy’s Naval Ordnance Laboratory, Silver Spring, MD. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dixie Lee Falvey, his son Charles L. Falvey, Jr., a granddaughter Julie K. Falvey and adopted son Chamroeun Tray. A memorial service will be held on February 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Ingleside at Rock Creek Retirement Community, 3050 Military Road, NW, Washington. MONTANO, Laura Hunt
Laura Hunt Montano passed away suddenly on January 12, 2013 in her home on 15201 Rosecroft Road, Rockville, Maryland. Laura was born in Washington, DC on February 17, 1953. She spent her early childhood in Oxon Hill, Maryland where she lived for 6 years. Her family later moved to Silver Spring, MD where she lived through both High School and College. In Silver Spring she enjoyed spending time with her neighborhood friends ice skating, going to the pool, playing badminton and spending time at Deep Creek Lake. Laura was a graduate of St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland, class of 1971 and Waynesburg College, where she earned her BS degree in Elementary Education. At Waynesburg she was an active member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority.Laura was pre-deceased by her father Howard Hunt and her brother Roger Hunt. Surviving her are her husband; Robert Francis Montano, Rockville, Maryland, her mother Eileen Kelly Dye, Silver Spring, Maryland, and her beloved children Michele Christina Montano; Fairfax, Virginia, Robert Joseph and Michael Anthony Montano; Rockville, Maryland. She leaves her brother and wife, Gary and Joanne Hunt, Catonsville, Maryland, Brian Hunt, Fairfax, Virginia, her step sister Ellen Dye, Silver Spring, MD, her step brother and his wife, James and Sylvia Dye, Deale, MD her brother in law and wife Fran and Angela Montano, Los Angeles, CA; and sister in law Kathy Pendleton, Broomfield, CO. MARJORIE HART CLINE
Marjorie Hart Cline of Silver Spring, MD, passed away at Holy Cross Hospital on February 7, 2013. She was 81, the beloved wife of Thomas Lytton Cline; mother of Judith Lise-Anne Cline, Karen Barbara Cline-Walter, and Marcia Virginia Cline; grandmother of Daniel Donald Walter, Gina Marie Walter, Gavin Whitney Holt, Jacqueline Anne Holt, Nalani Jewel Moseley, and Hart Mason Moseley; mother-in-law of Timothy Holt; aunt of Warren Meeks and Mila Meeks – pillars of strength during the trying times; and sister-in-law, or aunt, grand-aunt, or great-grand-aunt of 75 others more distantly located, all but five of whom she knew well. She began dating her husband-to-be in 1951, became engaged to him and graduated from Hiram College in 1953, married
him in 1954 and by the time of his PhD in 1961, their third child was on the way. Her life-long priority was dedication to others, as a wife and as homemaker to their three children, and as a pre-school teacher in Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Maryland, as a volunteer Girl Scout leader in Silver Spring, as a volunteer in the Emergency Room at Holy Cross Hospital, as a volunteer for Montgomery County libraries, and as a Medical Assistant in several agencies. She loved all wildernesses – the Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, the Great Barrier Reefs of Australia and of Belize, Kruger Park, Alaska, Turkey, the Virgin Islands, and the rural scenes of Europe and China, the mountains and deserts of New Mexico, and the ocean shores – especially the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas George Hart, her mother Alice Whitney Hart, her brother Alan Whitney Hart, and her aunt Dorotha Lila Whitney.
