PRISCILLA G. BIONDO “Penny”
On October 5, 2011, Priscilla (Penny) Green Biondo, of Rockville, MD, passed away. Born on April 8, 1926, in Auburn, Alabama, Penny was the beloved wife for fifty-six years of Mauro A. Biondo; mother of Christopher A. Biondo (and daughter-in-law Eileen White), Susan C. Biondo-Hench (and son-in-law Brad Hench) and Daniel M. Biondo; sister of Edward H. Green and the late Sylvia G. Lambert; and an aunt, cousin and friend. She graduated from Coolidge High School in 1944, attended art school, and became a cartographer for the U.S. Army Map Service. Penny retired from the Map Service in 1956 to devote her time to raising her children. Throughout the last thirty years, Penny continued to take art classes and was a member of the Rossmoor Art Guild at Leisure World. Her skill as a pastel artist, especially in her portraits of children, earned recognition from her fellow artists and frequent commissions from people wanting portraits of their loved ones. A characteristic of Penny’s work is that she captured her models in the present but gently brought out the best of their past as well. Her love of detail, balance, and beauty, so evident in her art, helped anchor and inspire her family and friends, whom she has blessed with an abundance of happy memories. CARMINE MARIO COGLIANO (Age 93)

Beloved husband of the late Mary Cogliano; father of Vincent (Deborah) Cogliano and Maryann (John) Yania; brother of George and Joseph Cogliano; grandfather of Thomas and Gina Cogliano and Kenneth Yania. THEODORE EARL POTTER (Age 72)
Peacefully on October 2, 2011 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Ted was born September 26, 1939, in Silver Spring, to the late Earl and Frances Potter. He and his wife, Noreen Elizabeth Wade, graduated from Sherwood High School, and recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. They lived in Silver Spring before retiring to Pasadena, MD.
Ted was employed with Montgomery County Fire & Rescue as a firefighter and Fire Marshall. He was stationed at the Burtonsville and Bethesda Fire Departments, and was a Life Member of the Hillandale Fire Department.
Beloved father of Deborah Potter (Brian) of Annapolis; Jeffrey Potter (Kelli) of Rockville; Gregory Potter (Julie) of Highland; brother of Nelson Potter, Janice Mayne and Ann Winters. Also survived by eight grandchildren. PopPop spent his leisure time adoring his grandkids, working around his home, and enjoying the waterfront view.
Friends will be received at St. Elizabeth Church, 917 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD, Friday, October 7 at 11:30 a.m. with Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Interment private.
