Beloved grandfather of John and Stephen Janetis; great-grandfather of Allison Cullinane and Megan Janetis; brother of Letica Spina of Roseto Valfortore, Italy; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. WILLIAM JOSEPH BOTELER (Age 91)
Of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Ocean Pines, MD and Adelphi, MD, William Boteler died on Saturday, January 29, 2011 following a stroke. He was born in Washington, DC to Michael Harmon Boteler and Mary Ann Boteler. Mr. Boteler served with distinction in the U.S. Army during WWII as a combat engineer, participating in campaigns in the Southern Philippines, the Northern Solomons and at Guadalcanal. Before and after the war, he was a printer at the Government Printing Office and later held executive positions at GPO and the U.S. Treasury Department during his Civil Service career. He earned an accounting degree from the Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, DC. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Carroll Boteler, children Michael (Bobbie) Boteler, Donald (Ann) Boteler, Christine (Steve) Haynes, Jean Marie (Rob) Izzi, Paul (Teri) Boteler, and John (Cathy) Boteler, thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Boteler was predeceased by brother Harmon Boteler, sisters Mary Ann Lacey and Rita Sebold and granddaughter Karen Scully. Mr. Boteler was a baseball player and lifelong fan and an avid golfer. Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, February 5, at 11 a.m. Private interment Gate of Heaven cemetery (at a later date). ROBERT G. WILLIAMS
Robert G. Williams, 83, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away in Culpeper, VA on January 26, 2011 after suffering from a long fight with diabetes. Robert was born in Washington, DC on March 2, 1927 and was the son of Anna G. and Frederick G. Williams, Sr. He was the husband of the late Jean M. Williams and the loving father of Carol Ann Freeman and husband John of Bealeton, VA. He is survived by his brother Fred Williams and wife Leslie of Frederick, MD; five grandchildren, Karen, Cori, Andrea, Emily and Eric; five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Christopher, Breanna, Cailyn and Nicholas; niece Cindy Williams; nephews Dale Williams, Gary Williams and Steve Williams. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. Robert was recognized by the American Red Cross for blood donations. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Silver Spring, MD for over 40 years.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD 20901, 301-593-9500, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011. JOHN FRANCIS HARDY (Age 95)

Recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
