Her devotion to the Red Sox and her favorite player, Rico Petrocelli, brought her a good deal of enjoyment and frustration, but she maintained her fierce loyalty and she always had hope for a World Series Victory.

She leaves behind her legacy, four sons and one daughter and their families. John and wife Carol of Kennebunkport, Maine and Englewood, Fla., and their children Steven and Carrie, William J. (Billy) Kingston Jr., and wife Vivienne of East Longmeadow, and their children William J. He was born July 16, 1956, in Millinocket, the son of Phillip Willard and Florence Abigail (Robertson) Gildart.

He shared and loved all outdoor activities. He was always ready to try a new sport and enlisted the whole family on most of the adventures. Laurie, his wife of 25 years, together took Advanced P.A.D.I. (scuba diving) lessons and explored the Maine coast together. The past few summers they explored Maine and New Brunswick on motorcycles. He loved riding his motorcycle and was able to share a couple "thousand mile" weekend trips with friends around the Gaspe Peninsula and New Hampshire. He shared his passion of the outdoors with his children, Brian and Carolyn, by taking the family bicycling, golfing, camping, hiking, backpacking, skiing, fishing, and hunting. Baxter State Park afforded the family many fond memories. This past fall, he and Brian spent time in Brian's '83 K-10 4X4 pick-up, not only hunting but experiencing a little mudding. His impact on his family to love the outdoors will live on.

He had spent his career as an accountant. The past 10 years had been spent at Georgia Pacific / Domtar where he enjoyed his work and especially the people that he worked alongside. He was a member and past master of Mystic Lodge 65, and Penobscot Chapter 75 in Hampden, and the Anah Temple Shriners in Bangor. In his earlier years, he had been very active in the Order of DeMolay and earned the Degree of Chevalier, the highest attained honor of the Supreme Council.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Laurie Anne (Smith); two children, Brian Phillip and Carolyn Jane; his father, Phillip; one sister, Suzanne and husband Brian of Orono; one brother, David and wife Sally of San Antonio, Texas; Laurie's parents, Ralph G. and Mary A. Daniel Cirelli

MIAMI, Fla. - Daniel L. Cirelli, 58, an accomplished food service executive, and friend without peer, passed away suddenly on Sept. 27, 2004 at his home in Miami Beach, Fla.

Born in 1945 in Brockton, Mass. to Louisa and the late Victor L. Cirelli, he grew up in the food service world of Cirelli Foods that his father and uncles had founded. He graduated with honors from Brockton High School in 1963, Tufts University in Medford, Mass. in 1967 and received a masters of business administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He served in the U.S. National Guard for a full term of duty. For more than a decade he worked as a senior executive at Papa Gino's during its greatest expansion period. He then founded Cirelli Exports where he built a vibrant business, exporting proscuitto from Italy and American catfish to Japan, mastering not only the Japanese language but also a sincere appreciation of its culture. Understanding reciprocity, he also initiated importing Japanese imitation crab meat back to the United States. He maintained that business and his role on Cirelli Foods board of directors until his death.

He was a generous friend and gracious host of dinner parties and gatherings. That said, he did not suffer fools gladly. He had a passion for live theatre, jazz, and world pop music. He led a life of active community service with friends in many ports of call. He was one of the original condominium owners on Beacon Hill in 1972, maintaining his unit on Hancock Street until his passing. He was also a member of Les Amis d'Escoiffier, a group of chefs, great food aficionados who are dedicated to the art of good living. He had a summer home in Ogunquit with many friends there as well. In each community he was an active volunteer. In college he was president of Sigma Nu at Tufts University and maintained a role as president of its alumni association. Further, he was a volunteer member of the Fenway Community Health Center's board of directors in Boston where he served as chairman and catalyst of its turn around starting in the early 1980s. During his tenure Sally Deane, was hired as the center's first professionally trained executive director. The two remained dear friends until his passing. In Miami as in Ogunquit, he regularly volunteered as a buddy to the chronically ill and consistently contributed to fund-raising efforts in those communities.

He leaves his loving sister Marie, brother-in-law, Alex, and mother Louisa of Lafayette, N.J., as well as literally dozens of what he termed his "fabulous friends" in Florida, Maine and Massachusetts.

A family funeral was held Wednesday at the Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, N.J. Burial was private. A memorial Mass was said in Ogunquit on Sunday and a memorial service of his life is planned for early November in Boston, Mass.

Tax deductable donations in his memory may be made to: Fenway Community Health, 7 Haviland St., Boston, MA 02115, Attn: Dan Cirelli Fund; or to Les Dames d'Escoffier, Boston Chapter, Chefs' Scholarship Fund, Attn. Denise Graffeo, 29 Johnson St., Saugus, MA 01906.
