Jessica Kinson

SANFORD - Jessica Kate Kinson, 19, of Sanford, died Wednesday (listed Friday, October 8, 1999) at Anna Jacques Hospital in Amesbury, Mass., as a result of a car accident in Amesbury.

She was born Jan. 6, 1980 in Claremont, N.H., a daughter of Thomas G. and Darlene (LaCroix) Kinson Jr., and moved to Sanford in 1997. She graduated from Sanford Adult Education in 1999.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Claremont, and a former member of the Junior Catholic Daughters.

She was employed as assistant manager of Poore Simon's store in Sanford.

Miss Kinson loved her family, friends and her two dogs.

Survivors include her parents of Sanford; maternal grandparents Leon and Thelma LaCroix of Claremont; an aunt, Jido Kinson; three uncles, Paul, Stanley and Kurt LaCroix, all of Claremont; and cousins.

Larry Bowdish

BIDDEFORD - Larry J. Bowdish II, 30, of Harrison Avenue died Wednesday (listed Friday, October 8, 1999) in a diving accident off Monhegan Island.

He was born March 4, 1969 in Lincoln Park, Mich., a son of Larry J. and Mary Kay Bowdish, and was a 1987 graduate of Littlefield (Conn.) High School. He also graduated from the University of New England with a degree in marine biology.

Mr. Bowdish was director of training for New England Diving Adventures in Danvers, Mass.

His love for diving led him to pursue career opportunities that allowed him to combine his scientific and diving backgrounds, and family members say he collaborated with fellow instructors to develop the first in a series of underwater educational films.

He was a member of the Professional Association of Dive Instructors, of Technical Diving International/Scuba Diving International and the Divers Alert Network.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Judd Bowdish of Biddeford; his parents; a brother, Patrick; maternal grandmother Irene Hooks of Michigan; paternal grandmother Anita Butler of Texas, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ivory Fenderson

SACO - Ivory Fenderson, 87, of Saco and Seminole, Fla., died Thursday (listed Friday, October 8, 1999) at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born Aug. 12, 1912 in Saco, a son of Irory H. and Minnie Hughes Fenderson, and was a 1933 graduate of Thornton Academy.

Mr. Fenderson was proprietor of I.H. Fenderson Inc. in Saco for 40 years.

He was a trustee of Laurel Hill Cemetery and vice president of the Three Quarter Century softball team in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Jean (Mewer) Fenderson of Seminole and Saco; two stepsons, Andrew Fitanides of Neva City, Calif. and Thomas Fitanides of Saco; a daughter, Ann Pullen of Saco; a sister, Geraldine Fenderson of Saco; and six grandchildren.

Roland L'Esperance

SPRINGVALE - Former resident P. Roland L'Esperance, 69, of York died Wednesday (listed Friday, October 8, 1999) at York Hospital.

He was born Nov. 28, 1929 in Springvale, a son of Emile and Louise (Plamondon) L'Esperance, and was a 1948 graduate of Sanford High School.

Mr. L'Esperance served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked as a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in York for more than 10 years.

He was a communicant of St. Christopher-by-the-Sea Church of York, and a member of the York Senior Citizen Center and AARP.

Mr. L'Esperance was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Huntsman) L'Esperance in 1988 and by a stepson, Stephen D. Conley, in 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. (Mrs. Walter) Hartford of York and Paula J. (Mrs. Tod) DeVoll of Shapleigh; a stepson, Gregg Conley of Kennebunk; a stepdaughter, Laurie Durst of Parsonsfield, and two sisters, Theresa Sylvain of Springvale and Pauline Roberge of Portland.

Theresa Lombard

SACO - Theresa Lombard, 68, of Portland Road died Wednesday (listed Friday, October 8, 1999) at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford.

She was born in Biddeford Nov. 23, 1930.

She attended Saco schools and was a 1950 graduate of Thornton Academy.

Mrs. Lombard was employed as a waitress for the Wonderbar Restaurant and at the Hotel Thacher for the Biddeford Saco Rotary Club for many years. She was also a waitress at Vallee's and Cascade Inn.

Mrs. Lombard was manager of the Best of Broadway dance company.

She was baptized as a child at the United Baptist Church in Saco.

Mrs. Lombard enjoyed the company of her four granddaughters and riding in parades in her husband's World War II Jeep.

Survivors include her husband, John E. Lombard of Saco; a daughter, Debra of Saco; two sisters, Ann Byers of Annapolis, Md. and Barbara Lindsey of South Portland; and four grandchildren.

Dr. Jerry Rountree

EAST WATERBORO — Dr. Jerry Rountree, D.V.M., 70, of Litchfield and East Waterboro, died Wednesday (listed Friday, November 5, 1999) at Goodall Hospital, Sanford.

He was born March 6, 1920 in Ferndale, Mich., a son of Leon and Mary C. Rountree. He attended Romeo (Mich.) High School and received his veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 1952, and his advanced degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1958.

From 1952 to 1955 Dr. Rountree was an associate professor at the University of Maine, Orono. In 1958 he became vice president in charge of research for Lipman Poultry Co. of Augusta. From 1978 to 1994 he was a private consultant for the poultry industry, working for various poultry companies around the world. Family members say his career was dedicated to health and management of the poultry industry, stressing immunology.

He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Avian Pathologists and the Maine Veterinary Medical Association. As well, he was a past member of the Litchfield Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Libby Rountree of Litchfield and Waterboro; a daughter, Libby of East Waterboro; three sons, Michael of Albion, Stephen of Port Matilda, Pa. and Daniel of Litchfield; his mother of Michigan; three sisters, Joann Higby of Romeo, Mich., Barbara Orr of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., and Martha Kyle of Sarasota, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dr. Henry Landers

ALFRED — Dr. Henry P. Landers, 95, of Hazel Dell died Thursday (listed Friday, November 5, 1999) at Goodall Hospital, Sanford.

He was born Oct. 19, 1904 in Bar Harbor, a son of Thomas and Julia Landers, and was a graduate of Rhode Island College of Podiatry and Temple University College of Podiatry.

Dr. Landers practiced podiatry in Sanford for 35 years, retiring in 1978 due to ill health.

He was a director of Sanford Community Health Association, and conducted clinics in the Sanford, Springvale and Shapleigh school systems.

Dr. Landers held a particular interest in the High Pine Health Camp for Children.

He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Sanford.

Dr. Landers was past president of the Maine Podiatry Association; past president of the Sanford Lions Club; and was a member of the American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America for many years.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary Hughes Landers, in 1994.

Survivors include a son, Thomas of St. Augustine, Fla.; a daughter, Margaret Brochu of Alfred; a sister, Jacqueline Daunis of Auburn; and seven grandchildren.

Patrick Conroy

BAR MILLS — Patrick S. Conroy, 53, of Bar Mills died in Saco Monday (listed Friday, November 5, 1999).

He was born in North Woodstock, N.H., on Dec. 10, 1945, a son of Edward and Gertrude Sears Conroy, and moved to Maine with his family at an early age. He attended Saco schools asnd was a 1963 honor graduate of Thornton Academy.

After attending Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Mr. Conroy was employed for several years by Biddeford public schools teaching Latin and English. In 1969 he moved to San Francisco and was employed by Dean Witter Reynolds and Charles Schwab & Co. brokerage firms. In 1984 he returned to Maine and prior to his death was employed by Horton's Smoked Fish Co. in the Portland Public Market, where he was well known for his cheese-making skills.

Mr. Conroy was a loyal baseball enthusiast and an avid cyclist.

Kristen Horton of Bar Mills was his longtime companion.

Survivors include a son, Malachi of Portland; his mother of Chelmsford, Mass.; two brothers, Robert of Carlisle, Pa., and Ted of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Teresa of Reston, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

CONROY

PATRICK S., of Bar Mills died Nov. 1, 1999 in Saco. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Dennett, Carig & Pate Funeral Home, Route 202 and 4A, Buxton. Burial will follow at South Buxton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Cleo Fund, c/o Mary Scott, 28 Byfield Road, Portland, 04103 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maine Chapter, 175 Lancaster St., P.O. Box 8730, Portland, 04104.

LANDERS

Dr. HENRY P., of Alfred died Nov. 4, 1999 in Sanford. Visiting hours 7-9 p.m. Friday at Heald Funral Home, 61 Main St., Springvale. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Church, Springvale; Rev. Armand Neault officiating. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andre's Home, 283 Elm St., Biddeford, 04005.

CROSBY

HUNTER, died Nov. 2, 1999 in Saco. There will be a celebration of his life, friendship, enthusiasm and courage Monday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kerrymen Pub, 516 Main St. (Rte. 1) Saco. His friends are warmly invited to stop by, greet the family, have a bite, and hoist one in his memory and honor.

Lillian Goodrum

GOODWINS MILLS -- Lillian B. Leach Goodrum, 79, of Quabbin Valley Healthcare and formerly of Orange, Mass. and Goodwins Mills, died Thursday (listed Friday, March 3, 2000) in Athol, Mass.

She was born in Ashland, N.H., on March 11, 1920, a daughter of Edward A. and Sadie M. Dermeritt Leach. She was raised in Lyman and lived for many years in the Biddeford area.

She moved from Goodwins Mills to Orange in 1959 and worked for 15 years at B & S Manufacturing Co.

Among her interests were crocheting, reading and camping.

Her husband, William Goodrum, died in 1971, and a son, Fred Woods, died in 1999.

Surviving are a son, Rodney Goodrum, and a daughter, Linda Whaley, both of Orange; a brother, Edward Leach, and a sister, Beatrice Rowell, both of Lyman; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Arthur Richardson

BUXTON -- Arthur E. Richardson, 67, of Cemetery Road died Wednesday (listed Friday, March 3, 2000) at his home after a long illness.

He was born in Newport, N.H., a son of George M. and Elsie M. Niskamen Richardson. He attended Rumford schools.

Mr. Richardson had been a mechanic at Andrew's Texaco Station in South Portland.

He was a volunteer for Bar Mills Rescue and for the fire-police at Chicopee Fire Station in Buxton.

His interests included hunting, fishing and card playing.

A son, Richard DeLisle, died in 1996.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Anna M. Reed Richardson of Buxton; three sons, Arthur Jr. of Limington and Kevin and Gregory, both of Buxton; three daughters, Barbara Stevens of Cornish, Karen Crockett of Buxton and Kandie Richardson of Casco; two brothers, Joseph of Standish and John of Buxton; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
