Sherman Bonney Jr.

KENNEBUNK -- Sherman C. Bonney Jr., 75, of Cat Mousam Road, died the afternoon of July 29, 2006, at Southridge Rehabilitation and Living Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Monmouth, Maine, on April 14, 1931, the son of Sherman C. Sr. and Freda Mae (Slauenwhite) Bonney. He attended Monmouth schools, and earned an associate's degree in criminal justice and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Augusta.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam eras, retiring in May 1968, after 20 years of service.

He married Charlotte Mae Coombs in 1974.

He served as chief of police for the towns of York Beach, Kennebunkport, and Winthrop, Maine from September 1968 through December 1978. He earned his chief-of-police certification from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, and was also certified by the Maine Department of Public Safety. He was a life member of the Maine Chiefs of Police Association and the New England Association of Chiefs of Police.

He retired from Federal Civil Service in January 1993, as an Electronics Technical Representative for the United State's Navy's Naval Aviation Engineering Service Unit (NAESU) detachment, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, S.C., with 32 years combined federal service.

He was a member and Past Master of Ocean Lodge No. 142, AF&AM, Wells; member of Royal Arch Masons, Murray Chapter No. 33, Kennebunk; member of Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Portland; member of KORA Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Provost Corps, Lewiston.

He was Past Commander of American Legion Post 9, Beaufort, S.C.; member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8760; member of AMVETS Post No. 70; and a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 12. Additionally, he was a member of the Parris Island Golf Club, MCRD, Parris Island, S.C.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Charlotte Bonney of Kennebunk;

two surviving children, Carolyn Freda Bonney-Viger of Turner, Maine, and

Beverly Jean Bonney-Black of Jacksonville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

There are no visiting hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Patricia Kotlewski

KENNEBUNK -- Patricia L. Kotlewski, 75, a longtime resident of Kennebunk, passed away July 25, 2006, at Southern Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Portland, the only daughter of Ruth A. Bowdoin and Vernon E. Littlefield, she is predeceased by her loving husband, John P. Kotlewski, and her daughter, Barbara Kotlewski Jackson.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Ayotte and her husband Marc of Auburn, and Ruth Ann Abrahamson and her husband Bruce of Rexford, N.Y.; one son-in-law, Robert Jackson of Atlanta, Ga.; and one beloved grandson, Samuel Danforth Moore of Gorham.

She attended Kennebunk schools. She graduated from West Hartford High School, in West Hartford, Conn., and went on to Skidmore College, where she met her husband, John. Together they resided in Burlington, Vt., where their three daughters were born. Moving back to Kennebunk, she joined The Littlefield Agency, her father's real estate and insurance business.

Her life was characterized by public service and a professional career that spanned more than 35 years as a Realtor. She was elected the first woman president of the York County Board of Realtors in 1975, and honored as Realtor of the Year in 1976.

After retirement, she loved playing more bridge and traveling to southern climes. Her final project was moving to her new home which she called the cottage. She infused it with colors as vivid and varied as everything that gave pleasure and meaning to her throughout her life.

A celebration of her life was held Saturday at Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk. Internment followed at Hope Cemetery.

Warren Arnold

WELLS -- Warren W. Arnold, 88, of Wells, formerly of Holliston, Mass., died at home on July 29, 2006.

Born in Framingham, Mass., he was the son of the late Wellington Gilford and Pearl (Harper) Arnold. He was the husband to Jeanette (Auringer) Arnold of Wells.

He had been a Wells resident since 2002, and previously had lived in Holliston, Mass., New Hampshire, Florida, and Milford, Mass., until retirement and moving to Maine. He was self employed for many years as an overhead-door-and-flooring installer. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Stephen Douglas Arnold and his wife, Bridget of Bellingham; three daughters, Patricia Gilford Licardo and her husband, Anthony of Kittery, Pamela Sutherland of Wells, and Debora Lucinda and her husband Henry Grampietro of Shrewsbury, Mass.; one sister, June Montgomery of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves a close family friend and caregiver, Faith Coye.

SERVICE NOTICE: A memorial visitation for Waren W. Arnold, will take place on Friday, from 11 a.m. to noon, at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. (Route 16), Holliston, MA 01746. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com

A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at noon with Rev. Dr. David Fountain from the First Congregational Church of Holliston. Burial of his cremains will follow in Pine Hill cemetery of Sherborn, Mass.

Kaye Moody

KENNEBUNK -- Former resident Kaye (Hollis) Moody, M.D., of Martha's Vineyard, died on July 30, 2006, at his home.

He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on April 24, 1932. He attended Franklin Grammar School and Lincoln Academy in Newcastle.

In his teenage years, he and his sister lived with his aunt and cousin of Kennebunk. He was a high honor student, graduating from Kennebunk High School, class of 1950. He went on to Northeastern University and Tufts Medical School.

His internship and residency in anesthesiology were at St. Elizabeth's in Brighton, Mass.

He worked as an anesthesiologist at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, Mass. He later went on to work at Martha's Vineyard Hospital.

He enjoyed motorcycles as a hobby. He was a member of the Harley Riders at one time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Jesse Moody.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria Shea Moody of Martha's Vineyard; one son, Herbert of Martha's Vineyard; one sister, Jessie Leach of Kennebunk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Christine Marlowe

OGUNQUIT -- Christine M. Marlowe, 62, of Ocean Meadows North, died early morning, Aug. 1, 2006 at her residence following a short illness.

She was born in Portland, on June 1, 1944, the daughter of Earl and Marion (MacLearn) Perry. She was educated in Portland, and was a graduate of Portland High School, class of 1962.

On Oct. 26, 1996, she married Robert K. Marlowe in Portland.

For many years, she worked in the production department of the former Sprague Electric in Sanford.

In her retirement, she and Bob enjoyed their timeshare in Hawaii, and also traveled the world together, visiting Europe, Hong Kong, and San Francisco. They also enjoyed their camp in Saco.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed yard work and her flower garden.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert of Ogunquit; one son, Peter O'Donovan of East Lebanon; one daughtr, Kelly Allen of Waterboro; one sister, Mrs. James (Judy) MonteCalvo of Standish; and three grandchildren.

SERVICE NOTICE -- There are no visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated for Christine Marlowe, on Friday, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Eldridge Road, Wells. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Pownal, Maine, where she will be buried alongside her parents.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the professional staff at Maine Medical Center for their compassionate care during Christine's illness. Arrangements under the direction of Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells.

Mary Mendoza

FALL RIVER, Mass.--Mary Bates Mendoza, 97, of Quequechan Street, died Oct. 4, 2006, at Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kennebunk.

She was born in Fall River on Aug. 21, 1909, a daughter of Frank and Rose (DePola) Mendillo. She attended Fall River schools through the high school level.

Her first husband was James Bates. He died in the 1960's. She then married William Mendoza. He died in June 1967.

In her working years, Mary was a blind stitch operator in the Fall River mills. She retired in 1978.

Mary was a lifelong communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish.

She was a former member of the Garment Worker's Union. She was also President of the Bishop Edes Apartment complex.

She thoroughly enjoyed cooking.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one sister and three brothers.

Survivors include: her daughter, Rosemary C. Bucacci of Wells; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

At the time of her death, she was awaiting the birth of her third great-grandchild.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Eldridge Road, Wells. Arrangements under the direction of Bibber Memorial Chapel.

Frank Yeskay

KENNEBUNKPORT--Frank M. Yeskay, 78, a resident of Wildes District Road, Kennebunkport, formerly of Holyoke, Mass., died Oct. 5, 2006, at the Southern Maine Medical Center, after a brief illness.

Frank was born in Holyoke, Mass. on May 5, 1928, a son of Peter Paul and Alice Flora (Martin) Yeskay and graduated from Holyoke High School, the class of 1945. He served with the United States Navy for two years.

Frank owned and operated an appliance service business for over 13 years and also worked for Holyoke Gas and Electric for several years before he and his wife moved to Kennebunkport in 1979.

Frank was employed by the former Petrolane Propane Gas Co. of Saco for several years. Then he became a lobsterman fishing off Cape Porpoise and for the last 10 years he was a bus driver for a local school system. He retired in June, 2005.

He was a member of the Wildwood Fire Department of Kennebunkport.

He enjoyed playing cards and loved to cook for his family.

He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Niedzielski) Yeskay who died in 2004.

He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Gayle A.Y. Welton and her husband Dennis of Saco and Debra Ann Thiboutot and her husband Mark of Nashua, N.H.; beloved granddaughter Elizabeth Ashley Welton of Saco; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Sunday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk.

Brian Damren

NORTH BERWICK — Brian Richard Damren, 40, of Oakwoods Road, died unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 13, 2006.

He was born June 26, 1965, in York, a son of Richard E. and Marlene (Allen) Damren. He was a 1983 graduate of Wells High School.

He was a successful commercial lobsterman and tuna fisherman and fished out of Perkins Cove in Ogunquit. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed fishing at his family’s camp on Embden Pond.

He was pre-deceased by his sister, LuAnne Jellison in 2003.

Surviving are his wife, Sheryl (Freeman) Damren, his parents, Richard and Marlene Damren, and three sons, Eric, Joshua and Zachary, all of North Berwick; one sister, Greer Higgins of Wells; one niece; one nephew; one great-niece; and many friends.

A memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick.

Jeanie McInnis

SACO — Jeanie M. McInnis, 83, died peacefully on Jan. 11, 2006, at her home after a long illness.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1922, in Biddeford, a daughter of Sinclair and Catherine (McMillen) MacIntosh. She was educated in Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in the class of 1942.

On Oct. 25, 1947, she married Allan John McInnis and recently they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Along with many years of community service, she worked primarily at Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution, retiring in 1996. She was an active member of the First Parish Congregational Church of Saco where she once taught many years of Sunday school, served on the women’s fellowship and enjoyed the music program.

Dedicated to her husband and family, she loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, baking with her grandchildren and nieces and “just being home” on her beautiful farm. Known as “Jeanie Mac,” her kindness, generosity and compassion stayed with everyone fortunate enough to have met her and be part of her wonderful family.

Her four granddaughters, Stacey Elizabeth, Lindsey Barbara, Laura Meghan and Alison Sutherland, were the light of her life.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Allan of Saco; two daughters, Cathy M. Truman and her husband Peter of Kennebunk, and Mary M. Coyne of Saco; two sisters, Johan Grondin of Saco and Isabelle Strickland of Florida; four beloved granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, a private service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the First Parish Congregational Church, 12 Beach St., Saco, ME 04072.

Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
