John Beaudoin

EAST WATERBORO - John Albert Beaudoin, 58, of Old Alfred Road, died Wednesday at Maine Medical Center following a long illness.

He was born May 5, 1943 in Brunswick, a son of Albert and Gertrude Senecal Beaudoin, and was educated in Brunswick schools, graduating from Brunswick High School in 1961.

On June 20, 1964, he married Sandra Benner in Brunswick. They came to the Waterboro area in the 1970s.

Mr. Beaudoin was employed in sales at Revlon Corp. for 10 years, and then at Schiavi Enterprises, Tara Estates in Rochester, N.H. for 20 years.

Mr. Beaudoin was a member of the New Life Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He also enjoyed working with the Waterboro Little League.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Kathy (Mrs. James) Gerry of Waterboro; a son, Christopher of Carrollton, Texas; his father of Freeport; a brother, Marshall of Brunswick; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Charles Gammon

LIMINGTON - Charles E. "Junior" Gammon, 71, of Cape Road, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born March 15, 1929 in Limington, a son of Charles and Mildred Gilpatrick Gammon, and attended local schools.

As a young man, he worked as a logger in this area. For eight years, he was a herdsman for Locust Farm Dairy and also had worked as a truck driver for Maine Dress Co. in Cornish. He was a self-employed carpenter for 26 years, built several new homes in Limington, and also remodeled many homes.

Mr. Gammon served two terms on the Limington Planning Board and was a trail master for the Limington Crankers Snowmobile Club.

He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and was proud of having shot a moose during a lottery season.

Mr. Gammon was a member of the South Limington Free Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Littlefield Gammon; a son, Charles N. of Windham; two daughters, Sandra Jean Thomas of South Berwick and Candace E. Bradbury of Limington; four brothers, Raymond and Lester, both of Limington, Malcolm of Gorham and Clinton of Buxton; a sister, Althea Axelsen of Westbrook; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

William Kellerman

OLD ORCHARD BEACH - William C. Kellerman, 79, of Temple Avenue, died Thursday at Southern Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Bellefonte, Pa., a son of Charles and Elizabeth McGowan Kellerman, and was educated in schools there, graduating from Villanova (Pa.) University.

On Aug. 23, 1949, he married Hazel King in Bellefonte.

Mr. Kellerman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He worked as an electrical engineer for many years, retiring in 1984. He came to Maine in 1992.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years; a son, Michael W. of Enfield; a daughter, Kathy Skelton of Stamford, N.Y.; five grandsons, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Mabel Lausier

BIDDEFORD - Mabel Michaud Lausier, 97, formerly of Grand Isle, died Thursday at St. Joseph Infirmary, where she had lived since August 1996.

She was born in St. Agatha on Feb. 13, 1904, a daughter of George and Alice Chasse Michaud, and was educated in the local one-classroom system.

On Oct. 24, 1921, she married Thaddie A. Lausier at St. Agatha Church.

Mrs. Lausier was a loving mother and lived an old-fashioned lifestyle in which families, neighbors and friends were very important.

She was a communicant of St. Gerard Parish in Grand Isle until 1996, and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne for 78 years.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years on Feb. 13, 1984, and by two sons, Joseph and Albenie; one sister, four brothers, and two half-brothers.

Surviving are nine sons, Emilio of Nalcrest, Fla., Laurien of Milwaukee, Wis., Elmer of Auburn, Roland of Largo, Fla., Real of Madawaska, Edmond of Los Angeles, Calif., Urbain of Pacoima, Calif., Norman of Grand Isle, and Daniel of Scarborough; five daughters, Sister Viola Lausier, S.C.I.M. of Biddeford, Rita Pescinski of Spencer, Wis., Sister Marie-May Lausier, P.M. of Saco, Cecile St. Jean of Dudley, Mass., and Agathe Moser of Park Falls, Wis.; 45 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Claude Roy

SPRINGVALE - Claude R. Roy, 79, of Railroad Avenue, died Wednesday at Goodall Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada on April 3, 1922, a son of Arthur P. and Eva (Pare) Roy, and came to the Sanford area as an infant.

He attended Sanford parochial schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph's College in Quebec.

He was an army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Roy had been employed with the former Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills, until he moved to Hartford, Conn., in 1951 and worked for Pratt & Whitney. He came back to this area in 1970 and was employed with the Electrician's Union, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and finally with GTE in Waterboro before retiring in 1987.

He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale, and a member of the Springvale Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Catherine M. (Murphy) Roy of Springvale; two sons, Roger P. Roy of Nashua, N.H., and Philip J. Roy of Biddeford; a daughter, Jackie Roy of Sanford; a brother, Joseph Roy of Sanford; two sisters, Monique Auger of Rochester, N.H., and Theresa Errico of New Britain, Conn., and a granddaughter.

Joyce Marquis

SANFORD - Former resident Joyce A. Barraclough Marquis, 65, of Gillette Street, Laconia, N.H., died Thursday at her home.

She was born in Portland Sept. 7, 1935, a daughter of Frank and Oria Guay Barraclough. She graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Sanford and attended nursing school at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.

She moved from Lewiston to Laconia in 1955.

Mrs. Marquis was a communicant at Sacred Heart Church in Laconia.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Marquis; two daughters, Ann M. Copp of Belmont, N.H. and Paula A. of Laconia; and two granddaughters.

Bradbury Davis

CORNISH - Bradbury E. Davis, 74, of Trafton Street, died Thursday at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born June 3, 1926 in Sullivan, a son of Curtis and Dorothy Tracey Davis, and attended schools in Sullivan and Deer Isle.

He joined the Navy in 1944 during World War II and served on the USS Webster in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater of Operations. He served with the Reserves until 1954.

Mr. Davis worked for Norman Watson in Cornish driving horse teams, and had worked as a sawyer at mills including L.C. Andrew in South Windham and L.H. Bradway in North Windham. He retired from Limington Lumber Co., where he worked for many years.

He liked hunting, fishing, camping and stock car racing.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Pendexter Davis, whom he married Oct. 28, 1946; a daughter, Roxie (Mrs. Leonard) Drowns of Porter; a brother, Curtis Jr. of Sullivan; a grandson, Charles B. Drowns of Porter; and three great-grandchildren.

Germaine Quaker

SPRINGVALE - Germaine Lizotte Quaker, 70, of Bridge Street, died Monday at Goodall Hospital.

She was born Aug. 26, 1929 in Sanford.

Her husband, Arthur Quaker, died in 1991.

Richard Boston

BIDDEFORD - Richard J. Boston, 80, of South Street, died Friday at the Maine Veterans' Home in Scarborough following a long illness.

He was born in Biddeford on June 24, 1921, the son of Ray and Elsie T. Dumont Boston, and was educated in local schools. He graduated from Thornton Academy with the Class of 1939.

Mr. Boston served in the U.S. Air Force (Army Air Corps) during World War II.

On May 21, 1949, he married Jeannette Collard at St. Margaretıs Church in Old Orchard Beach.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church and an active volunteer for the annual St. Mary's summer fairs, Knights of Columbus Council #2266, a charter member of V.F.W. of Old Orchard Beach, a former member of the American Legion in Biddeford and the AARP. He enjoyed flower gardening and listening to music.

Mr. Boston worked at the Saco Lowell Shops until they closed in 1958. He was then employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from 1960 until retiring in February of 1983.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years , of Biddeford; three sons, Daniel of Rockville, Md., Dennis of Biddeford and Michael of Reading, Mass.; one daughter, Judy (Mrs. Jay) Beauchemin of Saco; one sister, Phyllis LeGallee of Biddeford, and eight grandchildren.

Lyndon Boothby

SACO - Former resident Lyndon S. Boothby, 61, of Keith Ave.,, Kingston, Mass. died Thursday at his home.

He was born Oct. 17, 1940 in Saco, a son of Daniel T. and Mildred Banks Boothby Sr. and was educated in Saco schools.

On October 23, 1960, he married Ellen M. Campobasso in Saco.

He was employed at General Dynamics in Quincy, Mass.

Mr. Boothby enjoyed restoring custom cars, going to car shows, cruising with friends, and being with family.

He was predeceased by his wife in August of 2000, and also by a brother, Larry Boothby.

Survivors include one brother, Daniel T. Boothby Jr. of Buxton; two sisters, Ethel Beaudoin of Ocean Park and Florence Boothby of Saco; two stepsons, Jerry Bissonnette of Texas and Mark Bissonnette of Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and nephews and several step-grandchildren.

Annie Gilbert

LIMERICK - Annie l. Gilbert, 79, formerly of Limerick, died Wednesday evening at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.

She was born Oct. 28, 1922 in Limerick, the daughter of George E. and Alice B. (Young) Lane. She was raised in Limerick and attended school there.

She lived most of her life in the town, working at the Limerick Yarn Mill, Harmon's Store and Limerick Footwear for over 15 years.

She loved playing cards, dancing and going out to eat with friends, family members said.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ozias "Philip" Martel.

Surviving are two sisters, Bessie Lane of Cornish and Eleanor Lane of Limerick; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Murch of Norway and Florence Martel of New Jersey.

Bertha Bedard

SACO - Bertha M. Bedard, 81, of Water Street, died Friday at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford following a long illness

She was born in Biddeford on Nov. 12, 1919 the daughter of Joseph and Julia Rousselle Dansereau and was educated in Biddeford schools.

She married Josephat A. Bedard at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford.

Mrs. Bedard worked for nine years at Kesslin Shoe in Kennebunk and 4 1/2 years at Lyn-Flex Industries in Saco.

She was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Biddeford Senior Citizens, Daughters of Isabella, CFA Social Club, and enjoyed shopping, playing bingo and crocheting.

Her husband died in 1991.

Surviving are a son, Raymond H. Bedard and a sister, Doris Ayotte, both of Biddeford, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
