John Moulton

HOLLIS - John Woodman Moulton, 62, formerly of Salmon Falls (Hollis) and Brewer, died July 17 at his home in Gila Bend, Ariz.

He was born in Lynn, Mass. on March 5, 1941, the son of Maurice and Gladys (Ekas) Moulton, and graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 1975 with a B.S. in Business Administration.

John served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964.

He worked for National Cash Register in the early computer years. His interest in technology manifested itself in his fascination with clocks, weather instruments, motorcycles, and automobiles. He later worked as a chef and landscaper.

Whatever his interests were, he pursued them wholeheartedly. He will be dearly missed for his great stories and sweet nature.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Constance Kirby and Sally Buckwalter.

Surviving are three nephews, Craig Kirby of Schenectady, N.Y., Peter Shell of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Michael Shell of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four nieces, Susan Shell of Montville, Betsy Shell of Belfast, Kristin Kirby of Arcata, Calif. and Katy Shell of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandnephews, one grandniece, and one great-grandniece.

Robert Collins

KENNEBUNK - Robert Shattuck Collins, 90, died Wednesday.

He was born Feb. 13, 1913 in Indianapolis, Ind., grew up in Owosso, Mich. and graduated from Michigan State University and the Dental College of Northwestern University.

Dr. Collins was a dentist with the U.S. Navy for 30 years, retiring in 1972. He served in the Pacific Theater in World War II. Over the years, he was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas; El Cajon, San Diego and San Francisco, Calif.; Subic Bay in the Philippine Islands; Quantico, Va.; and Bethesda and Bainbridge, Md. He was serving on the USS Boxer, an aircraft carrier, in 1955 when he attained the rank of captain. In his last years with the Navy, he established and ran a charitable dental clinic for civilians in Bainbridge.

Dr. Collins retired in North East, Md., where he lived for 36 years before moving to Kennebunk. In North East, he served as treasurer on the board of his neighborhood association, volunteered at St. Mary Anns Episcopal Church and enjoyed maintaining and touring with antique cars.

He was married for 46 years to Margaret Maddy of Oskaloosa, Iowa. She died in 1984.

Surviving are three daughters, Ann Yamrus of Cameron, N.C., Jane Reinhardt of Huntington, N.Y., and Margaret Robin Kleinrock of Springvale; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Daniel Cote

ARUNDEL - Daniel Rodier Cote, 41, of Liberty Acre Drive, died Saturday.

He was born in Biddeford on April 14, 1962, a son of Robert R. Cote and Victorine Legros, was educated in Lyman and Biddeford schools and graduated from Biddeford High School in 1981.

He worked at Pepperell Manufacturing for two years, then did drywall and masonry construction in the area.

Mr. Cote was a member of the Biddeford Eagles and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, lobstering, surf clamming, hunting, NASCAR racing and professional football.

Survivors include his father of Old Orchard Beach; his mother of Arundel; two brothers, Rock R. of Lyman and Alan R. of Arundel; one sister, Kathleen Y. of Arundel; one nephew and six nieces.

Marjorie Kerry

SACO - Marjorie (Saucier) Kerry, 60, of Ross Road, died Sunday at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cote Funeral Home.

Muriel Peloquin

BIDDEFORD - Muriel A. Peloquin, 75, of Herring Avenue, died Sunday at Southern Maine Medical Center.

She was born July 13, 1927 in Biddeford, a daughter of Francois Jr. and Mariange Grenier Dumont, and was educated at St. Josephs School.

On Feb. 16, 1946, she married Joseph Peloquin at St. Josephs Church.

Mrs. Peloquin was employed at Allied Shoe Co. in Saco and later worked for 12 years for the Hanold Company, a clothing manufacturer in Biddeford, retiring in 1984.

She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, shopping and traveling. She and her husband did everything together and one was seldom seen without the other. Although they were childless, she raised her youngest brother, Richard, as her own son. Family members say she was a caring and sensitive person who took good care of her elderly mother.

Mrs. Peloquin was a member of St. Josephs Church.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years; her mother of Biddeford; three brothers, Leo Paul Dumont of Biddeford, Norman Dumont of Windham and Richard Dumont of Parsonsfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Jennifer Prejean

BIDDEFORD - Jennifer L. Prejean, 17, of Birch Street, died Friday at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in Biddeford on March 9, 1986, a daughter of Donald R. Prejean and Louise Oswell Cianciotti, attended Biddeford schools and was active in the cheerleading program in the elementary schools.

She enjoyed softball and loved to play prior to becoming ill three years ago. She was a member of the Saco Jets baton twirlers of Saco.

Survivors include her parents of Biddeford; a brother, Donald K. of Saco; three sisters, Melissa J. and Shelley M., both of Biddeford, and Sasha M. of Sanford; her maternal grandparents, Francis and Beryl Oswell of Kennebunk; her paternal grandfather, Ralph A. of Lyman; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Raymond Dupuis

SANFORD - Former resident Raymond B. Dupuis, 60, of Knox Lane in Lebanon, died Friday at his home.

He was born in Sanford on July 12, 1943, a son of Raymond E. and Marie Claire (Allain) Dupuis, was educated at the former St. Ignatius school and was a graduate of St. Ignatius High in 1961.

Mr. Dupuis was employed for almost 30 years by LePage Bakeries as a route salesman. Following his retirement he became an independent operator as a route sales representative.

A lifelong resident of Sanford, he had been living in Lebanon since 1999.

He served in the National Guard.

Hhe was an avid golfer and enjoyed sports in general. He also enjoyed reading, watching movies and weekend trips to the mountains and lakes.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer and her husband Keith Merrifield of Lebanon; his son, Jeffrey and his wife Lorie J. of Portland; two brothers, Paul of Orange Park, Fla. and David of Sanford; two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Raymond Dumont

EAST WATERBORO - Raymond Dumont, 58, of Old Alfred Road, died Wednesday at Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Biddeford Jan. 4, 1945, the son of Romeo and Pauline Gallagher Dumont, and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1963.

In July of 1967 he married Linda Hubert.

Mr. Dumont worked for S.D. Warren for over 15 years, retiring in 1996 due to ill health.

Ray was a member of Jaycees, the Rochambeau Club, a charter member of the Waterboro Eagles and was a 22-year member of the United States Reserves. He was also an altar server for Most Holy Trinity, a communicant of St. Matthews Church in Limerick, where he served as a Sunday usher, and a member of the St. Matthews Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered as a mentor at Sweetser Children Services in Saco.

Mr. Dumont loved spending time with his sons at Bruins games, traveling, playing cards with friends and being surrounded by is family. He always had a smile on his face and will be remembered for his generosity and outstanding and outgoing personality.

Ray is predeceased by a son, Jamie, his father, and a brother, William.

Surviving are his wife of over 35 years; two sons, Randy S. of Buxton and Scott A. of Sanford; his mother of Saco; two sisters, Jacqueline D. Foley and Margaret Callahan, both of Saco; and five grandchildren, Tiffany, Alexandria, Courtney, Kira, and Caitlin.

Robert Cormier

SACO - Former resident Robert J. Cormier of East Hartford, Conn. died unexpectedly Monday.

Born in Saco in 1933, he lived most of his life in Connecticut, visiting his beloved Maine frequently. He was a member of Thornton Academys Class of 1953.

Mr. Cormier was a four-year Air Force veteran.

Retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft since 1995, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, woodworking and following the University of Connecticut Huskies. Family members said he will be greatly missed by his constant companion and Rocky, truly a mans best friend.

His sister, Florence Grace, died previously.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marilyn; a daughter, Deborah (Mrs. Skip) Willson; two sons, Daniel and Scott; and a brother, Raymond of California.

Clifford Allen

ALFRED - Long time resident Clifford Kippy Harvey Allen, 82, died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Alfred March 20, 1921, the son of Ernest and Agnes (Whitehouse) Allen, and graduated from the former Alfred High School.

Mr. Allen served during World War II as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force as a gunner. He received the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with two clusters as a result of service in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater.

He was employed for the U.S. Postal Service in the Alfred Post Office for 38 years.

He was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of his large lawn. He was devoted to his family, and enjoyed playing chess with friends and in tournaments. Over the years, he enjoyed the Rangeley area when his children were young. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Oklahoma and Texas, and for many years he kept a summer home on Swan Pond in Lyman, where he liked to fish. He was a 50-year member of Brown-Emmons American Legion Post #134, Alfred.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Jessie (Bickford) Allen; a son, Stephen of Limington; two daughters, Joan (Mrs. Gerry) Rand of Alfred and Sharon (Mrs. Kendall) Dowe of Oklahoma; a brother, Ralph of Alfred; a sister, Margaret Johnson of Portland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
