Arthur Stewart
Monday, December 1, 2003
HOLLIS - Arthur Lyall Stewart Jr., 73, of the Plains Road, died Saturday at his home.

He was born in Cambridge, Mass. on June 15, 1930, a son of Arthur and Henrietta (Dares) Stewart, and graduated from Portland High School.

After graduation, Mr. Stewart joined the U.S. Army and dedicated more than 30 years of his life to military service.

He attended numerous military schools and retired as a lieutenant colonel.

He was active in many organizations including the Moose, Elks, American Legion and Odd Fellows, as well as Harmony Masonic Lodge and Cornerstone Masonic Lodge.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Phoebe Ann (Doughty) Stewart; two sons, Arthur III of York and Craig of Standish; two daughters, Paula of Portland and Stephanie Deshaies of Buxton; three brothers, Harry, Marshall and James; two sisters, Nancy Perkins and Jane Lindahl; and five grandchildren.

PEARL of Biddeford, died November 20 in Biddeford.

Visiting Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday from Cote Funeral Home, corner of Beach and James streets, Saco.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday from St. Josephs Church in Biddeford.

Burial will follow in St. Josephs cemetery, Biddeford. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.

Monday, November 22, 2004

WALTER E. BUD of North Berwick, died November 20 in North Berwick.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. followed by a military burial in Hillside cemetery, North Berwick.

Friends who wish may contribute to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

Monday, November 22, 2004

JEANNETTE, formerly of Biddeford, died November 11 in Winter Haven, Fla. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Annes Chapel of St. Josephs Church in Biddeford. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill cemetery in Saco. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.

THOMAS J. of Saco, died November 20 in Saco.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home 365 Main St., Saco.

Burial will at Holy Name cemetery in New Jersey at a later date.

Family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9956.

Beatrice M. Griffin, 96, of Sanford, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located at 29 Winter St. in Sanford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.

Josephine Jeffries

Josephine Jeffries, 98, of Springvale, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Jo passed away at Huntington Common with her daughter at her side. A private, graveside funeral will be conducted in the spring at Oakdale cemetery in Sanford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.

Gerald Toussaint

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Gerald L. Toussaint, 76, of Old Orchard Beach, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at his home after a long illness with cancer.

He was born in Wallagrass on May 28, 1939, the son of Raoul and Rita Thibodeau Toussaint.

On Sept. 23, 1961, he married Anita P. Metayer in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.

Mr. Toussaint worked at Maremont Corp. and Saco Tanning Corp. in Saco.

He worked 26 years as an electrician with Gus Boucher Electrical Co. in Biddeford and last worked in Seabrook, New Hampshire as a union carpenter, retiring in 1981 due to disability.

Gerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and following the activities of his grandchildren.

He was a man always ready to help his family and friends whatever the task.

He is survived by: his wife of 53 years of Old Orchard Beach; two sons, Ralph Toussaint and his wife Mary of Arundel, and Shawn Toussaint and his wife Cari of Casa Grande, Arizona; two daughters, Sandy Savage and her husband Gerry of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Patty Toussaint-Martel- Nicoletos of Concord, North Carolina; three brothers, Roger Toussaint and his wife Mae of Old Orchard Beach, Philip Toussaint of West Newfield, and Ronald Toussaint and his wife Joan of Inverness, Florida; a sister, Carol Lacroix of Sebring, Florida; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

Donations in Gerry’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 45 Forest Ave., Portland, ME 04101; or the American Cancer Society, One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086; or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.

William A. Doran Jr., 75, of Biddeford, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at St. Andre's Healthcare.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced in the Tuesday edition by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.

Rachel C. Reggep, 82, of Saco, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in California.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Cote Funeral Home, the corner of Beach and James streets in Saco.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at Cote Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn cemetery in Biddeford.

Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.

Pauline Theresa Tremblay, 86, of Mason Street in Biddeford, passed away July 30, 2011 at the Seal Rock Healthcare facility in Saco.

Visiting hours and Mass times are incomplete at this time and will be announced shortly.

When the date and times are announced, they will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Good Shepherd Parish and burial at St. Joseph's cemetery in Biddeford.

Arrangements are being conducted by Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco.
