Peter Frank Hollister

HARTLAND - Peter Frank Hollister, 62, passed away July 19, 2011 after losing a courageous battle to cancer. He was born April 15, 1949 in Waterville, the son of Donald and Eleanor (Towle) Hollister. He graduated from Hartland Academy, class of 1967 and attended Husson College. He lived for over thirty years in California and only recently returned to his beloved state of Maine.
Peter loved gardening, flowers and animals of all kinds, having had many loyal and dear pets throughout his life. He was a talented artisan who enjoyed painting, pottery, and landscaping design. Peter will be remembered by all for his wonderful sense of humor, his ingenuity and ability to find the positive in any situation.
Peter especially loved to dance and lived his life by the principle that “Your feet can learn the steps, but only your spirit can dance.” Peter’s indomitable spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his dearest friend and soul mate, Joseph Talarico, and their dog, Wiggles; special cousins Lisa Weed, Patricia Jandreau and Ginger Russell; a niece, Melissa, and three nephews, Loren, Mark and Chris; a special friend, Serge Puis. Many special friends and family from Maine to California will miss him as well. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Jane Russell, and his special friend, Larry Dickinson.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be on Saturday, July 30th, 2011 at 11 AM at Grace Linn Memorial Methodist Church in Hartland. Burial will be at the Pine Grove cemetery, Hartland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Skowhegan Humane Society, PO Box 453, Skowhegan, Maine 04976.
Arrangements under the direction and care of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, Maine 04976.

Jeanette L. Farnham

EXETER - Jeanette L. Farnham, 76, wife of the late Donald H. Farnham passed away peacefully July 19, 2011 in Pittsfield. She was born March 20, 1935 in Moscow, ME, the daughter of Lawrence and Lulu (Moore) Cates. Jeanette enjoyed playing Beano and especially caring for her family.
She is survived by her children, Judy Pineda and husband, Alan and Jari Farnham, all of Alexandria, VA; June Fillmore and John Farnham and wife, Lisa, all of Exeter; Jaye Farnham and Ron Brown of Fredericksburg, VA, Jill Farnham of Old Town; Jason Farnham of Exeter, James Farnham and Sheila Davis of Bangor, Jarina Farnham of Palmyra; step children, Gary Farnham and Mary of Solon and William Farnham of Skowhegan; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jeanette was predeceased by her sisters, Esther and Mary Collins, a brother Donald Cates and her son, Joey Farnham.
Memorial graveside services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.

Kathleen "Cassie" (Burton) Mosolansky

GRAY - Kathleen "Cassie" (Burton) Mosolansky, beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend, died peacefully July 4, 2011, surrounded by family. She was born June 27, 1972. She graduated from Central High School, class of 1990. She had just celebrated her ninth wedding anniversary with her loving, supportive husband, Stephen Mosolansky Jr. Cassie enjoyed traveling, gambling, and spending time with friends and family. Her nieces and nephews were blessed to have her in their lives. She was their biggest fan at their music and sporting events. She was very proud of them. In addition to her husband, Steve, she leaves behind her mother and best friend, Linda Burton of Stetson; father, Larry Burton and his wife, Glenna, of Corinna; brother, James Crocker and his wife, Connie, of Stetson; sister, Tammie Easler and her husband, Kelly, of Sangerville; a special aunt, Maggie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stephen and Marcia Mosolansky Sr.; sisters-in-law, Marlynn Haigh and Erica Anthony; brother-in-law, David Anthony, all of Pennsylvania; nieces, Katelynne, Amanda, Alyson, Morgan and Hannah; and nephews, Nicholas and Tyler. She was predeceased by her grandparents; and brother-in-law, Ralph. Graveside services will be held 1 PM August 20th at Clark's Hill cemetery in Stetson. A celebration of Cassie's life will immediately follow at Kelly and Tammie Easler's home in Sangerville. Joyce C. Moore

GUILFORD - Joyce C. Moore, 80, passed away July 7, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Guilford on September 4, 1930, a daughter of John W. Clark, Sr. and Mary (Schofield) Clark.
Joyce graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 1948 and was employed at Hardwood Products for 3 1/2 years, then as a clerk typist in Washington D.C. for a few months prior to her marriage to Carroll Moore in June 1952.
She lived in Abbot all her life until August 2008 when after Carroll's death she moved to Guilford and very much enjoyed her "new" home. She dearly loved family, the outdoors, all of nature, pets, and wildlife.
Her own many pets over the years were a source of great joy to her. She enjoyed several months each winter for many years in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was a member of the Abbot Historical Society. She served for 2 terms on SAD #4 Board of Directors. She loved to feed and watch wild birds, read, walk, and bike. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 1/2 years in January 2008.
She is survived by two beloved sons, John C. of Monson, and Jeffrey C. and his wife, Glenda, of Abbot. She is also survived by three much loved grandchildren, Reggie, John II, and Jennifer; and great grandchildren, Zachery, Alli, Alexander, and Kiara. She and John II always enjoyed a special bond and Joyce so appreciated the friendships two former daughters-in-law (Jane and Anita) maintained with her. She is also survived by a brother, Jack Clark of Abbot.
At her request there will be no public service. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Standwood Wildlife Sanctuary, P.O. Box 485, Ellsworth, ME 04605; or to Community Health & Counseling, 1093 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.

Richard “Dick” Savageau

PALMYRA - Richard L. Savageau, 72, died July 10, 2011 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born June 4, 1939 in Peabody, Massachusetts, a son of Victor and Agnes (Cormier) Savageau.
Richard attended Beverly High School in Massachusetts and was U.S. Army veteran of the Berlin Crisis and a member of the 382nd Airborne Unit. He moved to Newport in 1974. He was a well known boiler maker with a Master Oil Burner Service license, spending over 30 years in the trade with over 15 years as the owner of Atlantic Refractories. Richard also served as a member of the Newport Fire Department and Newport Police Department for 10 years during the 1970's and '80's. After he retired, he worked as a concierge for the Asticou Inn for 8 years and spent the last year working security for Hollywood Slots. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying golf, hunting, fishing and stock car racing. Richard had a "larger than life" personality and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to anyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lisa Savageau of Palymra; 5 children, Ricky Savageau of Hancock, Alice “Ellie” Witham and her husband Jason of Hartland, Stephen Savageau and his wife Denise, Christopher Savageau, and Joshua Savageau, all of Palmyra; 6 grandchildren, Crystal Weerden and her husband Patrick, Justin Witham and his wife Patrice, Dylan Savageau, Matthew Savageau, Jesse Witham and Amber Savageau; and 1 great grandchild, Drew Weerden. He is also survived by his best friends, Glen and Dawn Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Friday, July 22nd, at Irving Tanning Community Center, 62 Elm Street, Hartland, for those wishing to share fond memories of Richard with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pine Tree Camp Society, P.O. Box 518, Bath, ME 04530. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Robert N. Bunker, Jr.

CAMBRIDGE - Robert N. Bunker, Jr., 73, died July 13, 2011 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital after a long, hard fought battle with leukemia. He was born April 12, 1938 in Cambridge, a son of Robert and Lula (Buzzell) Bunker, Sr. He graduated from Maine Central Institute, Class of 1956 and attended Tufts College for two years.
He worked with his father at Bunker’s Garage, which he later owned and operated. He attended the Cambridge Baptist Church. For many years, Bob served as town moderator. He was a member of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge, the Shrine, and the Anah Campers. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, flying planes, motorcycling, building race cars and attending races. He especially enjoyed spending time with the Anah Campers and being involved with his community.
In 2002, his first wife of 45 years, Sharon (Carr) Bunker died from breast cancer. In 2003, he married Nancy Gerald.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Mark, all of Cambridge; a daughter Valerie Ripley and companion Mike Farley of Tremont; a sister, Marita and husband Rodney Farrar of Ripley; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; many beloved nieces and nephews; and extended family, Debbie and husband Fred Bushey of Hartland, Vicki and husband Ricky Morse of St. Albans, David and wife Lorna Marson of Cambridge; many grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and his special dog, Minnie. He also leaves behind Sharon’s family and many friends. He was also predeceased by his father; a sister Elizabeth Folsom; an infant son, Robbie; and a great grandson, Colin.
There will be no visiting hours at his request. A Masonic graveside service was held 2 PM Saturday, July 16th, at the Cambridge Memorial Garden cemetery with Pastor Lois Field officiating. Kathleen “Katie” (Lovley) Clark

NEWPORT - Kathleen Joyce Clark, 82, died July 12, 2011 at a Pittsfield health care facility. She was born June 30, 1929 in Mars Hill, a daughter of Clinton and Viola (O’Donal) Lovley. After graduating from high school, she moved to Newport at a young age. Kathleen married Hubert Clark in 1967.
She worked as a baker at the Gateway Restaurant, the Log Cabin Diner, both in Newport, and the Fairmount Restaurant in Bangor. She had also worked at several area shoe shops. She was member of Barrows-Skidgel American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a loving mother and friend.
She is survived by 6 children, Timothy of Florida, Belinda Langley of Levant, Lawrence of Pittsfield, Kevin of Garland, Kirk of Newport, and Darren Lovley of Standish; a sister, Merlene Gipson of Newport; 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
Graveside committal services were held at 11 AM on Friday, July 15th, at the family lot, Riverside cemetery, Newport, with the Rev. George Darling officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com

John H. Buckland

NORTH NEWPORT - John Henry Buckland, 84, died July 1, 2011 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 11, 1927 in Corinna, a son of William and Edith (King) Buckland. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Asiatic and Pacific theatres and also participated in the occupation of China. On October 14, 1945, he married the former Mildred Randall. John worked as a produce inspector for the state department of Agriculture for many years. He was a member of the North Newport Christian Church, Parian Masonic Lodge in Corinna, member and past commander of American Legion Post # 73, Corinna, and belonged to the U.S.S. Helena Association, the U.S. Naval Cruiser’s Association, and the U.S. Naval S.C.A.
In addition to his wife of North Newport, he is survived by 3 sons, Bruce and wife Susan of Damariscotta, Victor and wife Cecile of Newport, Valmore and wife Sandra of Hurricane, W. Virginia; a brother, William Buckland, Jr. and partner Chris Kelley of Palmyra; and a sister, Charlotte Anne Michaud of Corinna; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held 11 AM Friday, July 8th, at the Corinna United Methodist Church, 16 Dexter Road, Corinna, with the Revs. Terry McKinley and Angela Tarbox officiating. Interment was in the North Newport cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the American Legion Post 73 Auxiliary, P.O. Box 1, Corinna, ME 04928.

Nancy Mae Lane

PLYMOUTH - Nancy Mae Lane, 60, died peacefully July 4, 2011 surrounded by her loving family after a brief struggle with ALS. She was born September 25, 1950 in Sherman Mills a daughter of Kenneth and Lorraine (Neal) Lane. Nancy was a very loving and giving family oriented woman who touched the heart of everyone who knew her. She was affectionately known as “Mom” or “Mamie” to many. She loved the coast and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by her loving partner of 15 years, David Greene of Plymouth; her daughters, Rhonda Dodds Burton, Denise and husband Chris Cleveland, all of Newport; Melissa and husband Jared Snowman of Plymouth, Valeri and husband James Dean of Carmel; step-son Chad Marin and wife Lauren of San Francisco, CA; her grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Bryant, Morgan, Tiffany, Jacob, Marcus, Faith, Felicia, Kentin, Katelin, Ava (and soon to be born Bella Rose); her great grandchildren, Miranda, Brayden and Kaydence; her mother Lorraine; brother Dennis; sisters Darlene, Kandes, Lori and Ronica; many nieces, nephews, special family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Kenneth, grandsons Brandon and Ethan, and a special nephew Herbie.
Graveside committal services will be held at Sawyer cemetery, Plymouth, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.

Ernest C. Bubar

NEW SHARON - Ernest C. Bubar, 55, of New Sharon passed away Friday, July 1, 2011, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington after an accident that occurred at Sandy River Farm where he worked. Ernie was born May 28, 1956, son of Wendall and Marjorie Bubar. Ernie is survived by his wife Maureen Bubar of 17 years and their six children, seven grandchildren, more than nineteen nieces and nephews, his sister Anna Wilber, his brother Roger and his wife Laurie Bubar, his brother Dennis and his wife Nancy Bubar, his brother David and his wife Laura Bubar, his brother Steven and his wife Debbie Bubar, his very special long-time friend James Wilber, and many other friends and family.
Ernie cherished his life and loved his family very much. He enjoyed family gatherings, singing, laughing, hunting, fishing, walks, and motorcycle rides. Anything that had to do with the great outdoors Ernie enjoyed doing with the company of his family and friends. Ernie was an exceptionally hard working, honest man with a gentle soul. He will missed but never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at the Village cemetery in St. Albans on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Those wishing may send condolences for the family at www.adamsmcfarlane.com.

Paul E. Reynolds

BURNHAM - Paul E. Reynolds, 60, passed away June 29, 2011 at his home in Medford, Oregon.
He was born to Ralph and Charlotte Reynolds on March 18, 1951 in Burnham, Maine. He grew up in Pittsfield and after finishing school he joined the United States Marines. He later went global on oil riggs and even resided in Alaska panning for gold for a short time.
His principle accomplishment was his daughters Jennifer Davis and Kelly Woodruff, they blessed him with his pride and joy his grandchildren, Megan, Zack Davis and Riley Woodruff all of Oregon. His love for his children has kept him in one place so he could watch them grow.
With a heavy heart he will be missed by all, including his siblings and father he left behind.
Services were held in Oregon.
Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond, ME 04357.

Stanley S. Gower

PITTSFIELD - Stanley S. Gower, 72, died peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at his home in Pittsfield, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 8, 1938, in Skowhegan, the son of Byron and Ruth (Avery) Gower Corson.
He attended schools in Canaan and Skowhegan. He retired from Irving Tanning in 2003 after being employed by them for over 35 years. After his retirement, he went to work for the Rolling Thunder Express delivering their weekly newspaper.
Stanley was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed reading and watching Western movies. He liked wood working projects and enjoyed playing chess on the computer with his niece, Diane.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy (O’Reilly) Gower of Pittsfield; his two sons, Scott Gower and his wife, Misty, of Augusta and Shane Gower and his wife, Erica, of China; his grandson, Joshua Gower; his mother, Ruth Corson of Skowhegan; his brother, David Gower and his wife, Sheila of Skowhegan; his step-brother, Mayron Corson, Jr. and his wife, Darlene; his step-sister, Pauline Knox; his brother-in-law, William Clark and his wife, Harriet, of Skowhegan; his brother-in-law, Dale O’Reilly and his wife, Ada, of Palmyra; a sister-in-law, Maggie Gower of Las Vegas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Byron Gower; a son, Stephen Gower; a sister, Virginia Gower Clark; a brother, Alan Gower; his step-father, Mayron Corson, Sr.; and his step-brother, Terry Corson.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Monday, June 27, at the Fairview cemetery, Hartland Road, in Canaan, with the Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating.
All are invited to attend a gathering at the home of Stanley and Judy following the service.
Care for the family has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
