JEANNE B. IVORY

NEWPORT - Jeanne B. Ivory, 77, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in the home of her daughter in Rye, NH, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born May 9, 1935, in Berlin, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Oscar and Alice (LePage) Biron.
She graduated from Notre Dame High in 1953 and was crowned Berlin, NH’s “Miss Paper City” in the same year. Jeanne worked throughout the years in various administrative jobs, but her primary goal in life was to raise, guide and love with her entire heart and soul, her six children, to whom she gave the world. She loved to cook and bake, and we imagine the scent wafting through heaven is of her freshly baked apple pies and blueberry muffins. She was happiest with a house full of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, even if it was standing room only. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with her Aunt Lucille, and together they would giggle and laugh like school girls. It has been said, one of them would start a sentence and the other would finish it.
She is survived and deeply missed by her children: her sons and daughters-in-law: David Albert and Theresa Grella of Amherst, N.H.; Douglas and Lori Ivory of East Falmouth, MA; Jeffrey and Sheila Ivory of Geneva, Switzerland; James and Sabrina Ivory of Newport, Maine; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Richard Ade of Rye, NH; and son-in-law, Timothy Turmelle; her Uncle, Herbert Brigham of Berlin, NH; her special friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Ivory; She was “World’s Best Gram” to 9 Grandchildren: Melanie, Justin, Shelby, Alyssa, Amey, Chase, Gabe, Vivian, Madison and Cole and 3 Great-Grandchildren, Rhyan, Xanthe and Camdyn. She had many wonderful friends and the family makes special acknowledgement of the devotion and love bestowed upon her by her dear friends Helen, Brenda, Nancy and Pat B.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, James E. Ivory, Jr. who died in May, 2012; her daughter Donna, who she loved dearly and missed every day; and her beloved Aunt Lucille Brigham.
The family would like to thank their “extended family” of Rockingham VNA & Hospice (Ray, Sharon and Glenna Jean) and Home Instead (Joyce and Chris) for their never-ending devotion, care and compassion for our beloved Mother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made directly, in memory of Jeanne Ivory, to: Rockingham VNA & Hospice, via their website www.rockinghamvna.org
Services were held at Farrell Funeral Home on March 27, 2013, with Father Gary Belliveau and Pastoral Minister Carol Jacques-Dow of the Corpus Christi Parish officiating. Calling hours were held prior to the service. A graveside ceremony in Plymouth is planned for this summer.
