GAYLE (BENNETT) PUSHOR

EXETER - Gayle B. Pushor, 53, died March 19, 2013 at her residence following a battle with cancer. She was born June 13, 1959 in Waterville, a daughter of Robert and Jacqualyn (Smith) Bennett. She graduated from Waterville High School, and from Beal College in Bangor. Gayle served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.
She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter. Gayle was employed as a service writer at T & W Garage in Newport and as a coding clerk at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. After moving to Alaska with her husband, she also worked as a scheduler at the imaging center at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. After retiring in April 2012, they moved back to Maine in May.
She is survived by her father, Robert Bennett and wife Diane of Pittston; her husband, Peter Pushor of Exeter; 2 sons, Richard Dunton and wife Kristin of Pittsfield, and Eric Dunton and his girlfriend, Mallorie Schaefer of Newport; a sister, Bobbi Sands of Pittsfield; 2 step brothers, Scott and wife Tina Paradis, and Stephen and wife Betty-Jo Paradis, all of Gardiner; a grandson, Dyllon Dunton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Crystal; and step-sister, Selena Arbour.
A celebration of her life was held 2 PM Tuesday, March 26th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Stan Griffin officiating. Friends called from 1 PM until the time of the services. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com

RAYMOND E. GALLISON, JR.

CORINNA - Raymond Eugene Gallison, Jr., 79, died March 25, 2013 at a Bangor hospital. He was born August 31, 1933 in Corinna, a son of Raymond and Lillian (Dow) Gallison, Sr. Raymond served in the U.S. Navy and had been employed as an inventory clerk at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Raejean Bienkowski of New Sharon, and Kelly Gallison of Pittsfield; 2 brothers, Richard Gallison of Milo and Charles Gallison, Sr. of Corinna; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Mooers), a brother George “Sonny” Gallison and 3 sisters, Alice and Beckylou Gallison, and Norine Krause.
Spring graveside committal services will be held at Corinna Village cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

DORIS P. VICNAIRE

ST. ALBANS - Doris P. Vicnaire, 89, died peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2013, in Bangor.
She was born on January 2, 1924, in Guilford, Maine, the daughter of Albert and Zella (Gilman) Kimball of Parkman. She attended Manter School through the 8th grade. In 1940, she married Arthur Vicnaire and they began their lives together.
Doris was a wonderful housewife who liked flowers, enjoyed canning and freezing vegetables from their garden and loved eating out at restaurants. In her younger years she did spring house cleaning and enjoyed picking potatoes in the fall. She was truly dedicated to her family and her children always came first. She loved to give a good, tight hug. Friday night and Sunday dinners with her family were the highlight of her week. She also enjoyed the yearly Ladies Christmas Coffee at the Bangor Baptist Church. She will be lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Arthur Vicnaire of St. Albans; her children, Linwood Vicnaire and wife Donna of St. Albans, Phyllis Johnston and husband Galen of St. Albans, Maynard Vicnaire and wife June of Macwahoc Plantation; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren with another due to be born in April; several nieces and nephews; and 2 special friends, Anna Clark and Marjorie Weeman.
She was predeceased by her parents; son, Roland Vicnaire; 3 brothers, Willie, Leslie and Eugene; and a newborn sister.
The family received friends from 4-6 PM, Thursday, March 28th, 2013 at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield. A funeral service was held at 11 AM, Friday, March 29, at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating. A gathering followed the service in the funeral home. A committal service will be held in the spring at the Maloon cemetery, Grant Road in St. Albans.
Should friends desire memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity in Doris’ memory.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

DARREN L. GREENE

PALMYRA - Darren L. Greene, 46, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, March 12, 2013, at home. He was born Dec. 26, 1966, in Hartland, to Michael and Martha (Johnson) Greene.
Darren grew up in Hartland where he attended local schools and graduated from Nokomis Regional High School in 1985. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1985, stationed in Long Beach, Calif., serving on the USS Vandegrift until he was discharged in 1989. Darren worked as an elevator engineer for several years in Long Beach before returning to Maine. He was self-employed and took pride in his carpentry business, Greengo's Construction, as well as his woodworking. Darren enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots games, as well as coaching softball and basketball, hunting, fishing, camping, going to the beach and spending time with his family. One of Darren's fondest memories was being able to attend his nephew Tyler Wintle's graduation from Army boot camp in Fort Benning, Ga., on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2011.
Darren is survived by the love of his life, Kandes Bates, and her children, Ivan Bates and wife Sarah, Doug Bates and wife Miranda, Holly Bates and significant other, Shawn Brown, and Hillary Bates and boyfriend Kyle Halford; grandchildren Taylor, Ivan II, Isaiah, Alex, baby Aiden and Sydney May; his mother, Martha Greene, of Rathine, Va.; sister Deanne Cress; brother Brian Cram; stepmother Barbara Marcia and husband Mick; sisters Kelly Veazie and husband Rob, and Kim McCue and husband Marty; brother Kevin Wintle and wife Faith; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as "Uncle Greengo" to special nephews Justin and Tyler, and special nieces Jenna, McKenna and Addi Jo. He is also survived by a special uncle, Elwood Gray, of Scarsdale, N.Y.; and a special aunt, Paula Campbell.
Darren was predeceased by his grandmother, Bertha Greene; father Michael Greene; aunt Pat Gray; and special family members Ken and Nancy Lane, Everett and Regina Neal, Russ Batchelder, Les Campbell and Ed Horin.
Darren will be remembered for his incredible strength, positive attitude, sense of humor, his grin and his love for his family.
The family would like to say a very special thanks to Rob Veazie for all he has done. Also thanks to the doctors and staff of the VA system and hospice nurse Gwen, for the care he received.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.

OLIVIA (REEVES) FERNANDES

CORINNA - Olivia C. Fernandes, 88, died February 7, 2013 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born January 11, 1925 in Dexter, a daughter of Lawson and Clara (Arsenault) Reeves. Olivia studied at Wilton Academy and graduated from Winthrop High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and a Master’s degree from Boston University. She also studied at Northeastern University and the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York. She taught music privately and in public schools in Maine and New Hampshire. She had also been employed by the New England News Clip Agency of Framingham, MA.
While living in MA, Olivia met Manuel Fernandes at the Brighton Evangelical Church where they were members. After their marriage on May 28, 1994 in Corinna she assisted him in his nursing home ministry in Maine. Both had also attended classes at the University of Maine at Orono preparing them for their joint field.
They were active members of the Corinna United Methodist Church. They were also involved in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Bangor and were also members of the Tres Dias movement. Olivia was a member of United Methodist Women of Maine.
She is survived by 2 cousins, a niece, 4 nephews, and one grand nephew. She is also survived by dear friends, Pearl and Bernice Griffin of West Newbury, MA; and her cat Penelope. She was predeceased by her husband Manny on May 25, 2011, as well as 2 infant brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 13th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna with the Rev. Terence McKinley officiating. Friends called from noon until the time of services. Spring burial will be in Lakeview cemetery, Wilton. Donations in Olivia’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

JAMES A. MURRAY

NEWPORT - James Alden Murray, 89, died February 6, 2013 at his residence. Heaven received a good man that day. Jim was born October 18, 1923 in Greenville, a son of Eugene and Goldena (Collins) Murray. He attended Brewer High School and served in the U.S. Army in the European, North African and Middle Eastern theatres during World War II. He was involved in the landing at Anzio Beach in Italy serving as a tank driver.
After the war, Jim worked at Viner’s Shoe as a foreman, and later, at Emple’s Knitting Mill. During that time he also worked as a taxi driver in Bangor. Jim started Murray Construction Company, building apartment buildings and various homes in the area. He built Beverly’s Hair Fashions for his wife Beverly, and also started The Old Dutch Treat ice cream shop in Trenton which has operated for 45 summers. He was an avid skier and golfer. Jim was a Mason, affiliated with the Benevolent Lodge in Carmel and Meridian Splendor Lodge in Newport. In his later years, he enjoyed tinkering on anything broken. The family said he was a jack of all trades, but now a master craftsman in Heaven.
He is survived by his son Danny and fiancée Debbie Bishop, his daughter, Debbie and husband Randy Davis, all of Newport; a brother, Charles Murray of Indialantic, FL; a sister, Lena and husband Frank Pray of Newport; a sister in law and husband, Gloria and Kip Soule of Bar Harbor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly (Garland) Murray, and his sister in law Frances Murray. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Graveside funeral and committal services will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 11th, at Riverside cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. LOUISE C. ERNEST

GARLAND & DOVER-FOXCROFT - Louise C. Ernest, 96, wife of the late Earle “Pete” W. Ernest, died February 7, 2013, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born April 4, 1916, the daughter of Roy C. and Ada Alteen (Hatch) Foss. Louise helped raise her four sisters after her mother’s death. A very giving and kind woman, her kitchen was an unofficial town café, where she enjoyed cooking for friends and neighbors. She and her husband owned and operated the general store in Garland for 22 years. At the time of her death, she held the Boston Cane for the Town of Garland. She was a fifty year member of the Rebekahs, a fifty year member of the Grange, and a member of the Garland Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She attended the Garland Community Baptist Church. She was involved with starting a local Boy Scout Troop, and enjoyed bowling, card games, including cribbage, and time spent at the Kingsbury Pond camp.
Louise is survived by two sisters, Norma E. Littlefield and her husband, Blaine, of Burnham, and Ada Alteen Cobb of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother-in-law, Paul Herrick of Dover-Foxcroft; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Earle Roy Ernest; two sisters, Myrtie Farrin and her husband Lyman, and Barbara Herrick; and a brother-in-law, Glenwood Cobb.
A funeral service was conducted 2 PM Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Garland Community Baptist Church, with Pastor Bob Young and Pastor Barry Buzzell officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Dexter. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to either the Garland Community Baptist Church, PO Box 76, Garland 04939, or to the Garland Fire Department, PO Box 29, Garland 04939. WILLIAM HENRY MILLER. JR.

DOVER-FOXCROFT - William Henry Miller, Jr. - Bill surrendered his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer with all of his loving family and friend Mike Dube at his side on February 4, 2013. He was born January 27, 1952 in Danbury CT, the son of William H Miller Sr & Gilda P Miller. Bill worked as a carpenter. He studied to be a Paramedic and worked in EMS for over 20 years for Mayo Ambulance, Dover-Foxcroft, and Sebasticook Valley Ambulance in Pittsfield. He was Director of Hartland Ambulance and Medical Director of New Horizons for Young Women in Milo. He loved working on the ambulance, taking care of people and working with his ambulance partners, Laurine Farrar and Teresa Deering, looking for lawn balls and singing ‘Domanick the Christmas Donkey’. Bill was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Wilderness Medical Association. Bill loved spending time with his family, watching people and seeing why they did what they did. He enjoyed raising Malumute dogs, Keno being his favorite. Bill also enjoyed wood carving, canoeing and spending time outdoor. Bill just enjoyed life and making the most of what he had and remained positive throughout his illness. Everyone who knew Bill took a little piece of him when they left him. He was a husband, son, brother, father, a great mentor and friend.

DARYL L. GOULD

HARMONY - Daryl L. Gould, 53, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born on August 14, 1959, in Hartland, the son of Milton E. and Jo-Ann (Huff) Gould.
As a boy, Daryl loved working on his grandparent's farm and belonged to the Boy Scouts. After graduating from high school, he worked at Jerry's Furniture in Fairfield delivering furniture, and then began working in sales. He also worked at DeLongs as a material handler until the business closed.
Daryl was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time doing yard work. He especially loved getting firewood cut, stacked and ready for winter. He was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with family and who loved holidays, especially Christmas. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were always spent surrounded by lots of family enjoying a meal and watching the grandchildren open presents.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Wanda K. (Bussell) Gould; son, Brad Bussell and wife Brandy of Harmony ; 2 granddaughters, Breanna “Bree”, and Brody; mother, Jo-Ann (Huff) Gould of Wellington; 2 brothers, David Gould and wife Diane of St. Albans, and Derek Gould and wife Melissa of Dexter; half sister, Linda Wodark and husband Martin of Houston, TX; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Milton E. Gould and grandparents, Guy and Thelma (Leo) Gould, and Randall and Eleanor (Campbell) Huff.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.

JOYCE M. (STANCHFIELD) PATTEN

Palmyra - Joyce Mary (Stanchfield) Patten, 76, died peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2013, after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 16, 1936, in Peabody, Massachusetts and graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical High School in Hathorne, Massachusetts.
Joyce enjoyed baking daily and giving away the baked goods to family and friends in the community. She also enjoyed gardening, antiquing and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind her six children, Paulie Ripton and husband Thomas, Bruce Patten and wife Elaine, Penny Patten-Bryant and husband Cedric Bryant, Brett Patten and wife April, Brad Patten, Paige Patten and her boyfriend, Ron Hustus; 14 grandchildren; two step grandsons; and sixteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Elvera (Tersolo) Stanchfield; her first husband, George Patten; and her second husband Robert Meade.
Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Charities Maine Home Makers Services, 136 State Street, Augusta, Maine, 04330, in Joyce’s memory.
A private family ceremony will be held by the family.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

EARL A. KLEVINS, JR.

CORINNA - Earl A. Klevins, Jr. died on January 25, 2013 in the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He was 74.
Earl was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, December 9, 1938. His birth was captured in a newspaper article with picture titled “Coins, Coins, Coins, and a Baby” that related how his parents, Earl Klevins, Sr. and Lucy DeFillippo Klevins, saved coins with their birth years (1915 and 1920) to pay for Earl Jr.’s birth.
Earl Sr. and Lucy Klevins preceded Earl Jr. in death. Earl’s marriage to Patricia Klevins, with whom he had three sons, ended in divorce. Three sons survive him, Kevin Klevins of Las Vegas, Nevada and Keith Klevins of Woodbine, Maryland and Eric Klevins of Westminster, Maryland and 4 Grandchildren. Earl’s second wife, Maryanne Bolstridge, and his father-in-law Col. Leslie James Bolstridge II preceded him in death. Also surviving are his brother, Robert Klevins, sister Judy Thibault Klevins, and in-laws Elmer and Audrey Bolstridge, and Loren Dewey Bolstridge III.
Earl Jr. graduated from Wheeling High School and was awarded a full scholarship in science to the University of Rochester, New York. He was graduated from West Virginia University. Earl served in the United State Army and retired from the United States Government as a contract specialist with The National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Washington DC.
Earl lived in the Corinna area for years, attended the Corinna United Methodist Church and was active in the Historical Society, and the Food Cupboard. Earl’s work brought sustenance and enjoyment to many in Corinna.
Internment will be in Corinna, Maine in the spring.
