HAROLD “JOE” FREEMAN FLOOD, JR.

PALMYRA - Harold “Joe” Freeman Flood, Jr, 60, died on Wednesday, June 11th, 2014, in Pittsfield.
He was born on December 13, 1953, in Burnham, the son of Harold and Eleanor Flood. He attended Nokomis High School and enjoyed carpentry and working construction.
Joe was a jack-of-all trades. He was the kind of guy that could put a smile of your face. He loved his family and liked being with them. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, antiquing and “trash-picking”.
He is survived by his parents; his children, Melissa, Jamie, Tara, Cassandra, Aimee, Freeman and Joseph; his siblings, Frances, Andrew, Linda, Michael, Benny, Peter, Tina, Martin, Christine, Tricia, Aimee and Jennifer; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, June 16th, 2014, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, June 17th, at the Palmyra Village cemetery, Warren Hill Road, in Palmyra, with Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

MABEL H. ROBINSON

HARTLAND - Mabel H. Robinson, 86, died peacefully on January 5, 2014, in Hartland.
She was born on October 26, 1927, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Lester and Lioma (Mitchell) Gray. She married Clifford Robinson and enjoyed being a homemaker. Mabel had an independent spirit and chose to live according to that spirit. Mabel moved from her longtime home in Clinton to the Hartland and St. Albans area. Mabel was a cheerful friendly person. Mabel had many friends that she enjoyed spending time with. Mabel enjoyed dining out, taking rides in the country, and playing cards. Mabel appreciated all the support and kindness shown to her by the staff of Skills Inc.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Sunday, June 22nd, at the Evergreen cemetery, Hill Road, in Clinton, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Clifford Robinson.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

BETTY HUSSEY

PITTSFIELD - Betty Hussey, 82, a lifelong resident of Pittsfield died peacefully surrounded by her family May 31, 2014.
She was born March 9, 1932 and was one of eight children born to the late Mildred and Franklin Wyman of Pittsfield. She married her husband Wayne in 1961. They shared 52 years of marriage until he passed away in August 2013. Together they raised a large family which she was very proud of. She really enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved to read and watch court cases on TV. She had a great sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her five children, Cheryl, and husband Leo Lacey, of Topsham, Carroll "Brother" and wife, Lillian Hussey, Carla and husband Allen Thompson, Crystal and husband Mark Neace, and Charlene and husband, Wilfred Dodge, all of Pittsfield; Rodney "Skeeter" Bowley, of Etna, who Betty thought of as a son, and Linda Lary, of Hartland, who Betty thought of as a daughter; 13 grandchildren, Joseph Lacey, Chrysta Coulombe, Erin Robinson, Parker Lacey, Melissa Stinson, James Hussey, Elizabeth Kennedy, Allen Thompson, Mark Neace Jr., Michael Dodge, Megan Godfrey, Matthew Dodge and Zachary Dodge; 13 great-grandchildren, Seth Coulombe, Celia Stinson, Madison Hussey, Braeden Kennedy, Caleb Kennedy, Sophia Thompson, Chloe Thompson, Tanner Godfrey, Logan Dodge, Dakotah Dodge, Jace Dodge, Emilyn Hoover and Chase Robinson; special friend Dawna Dodge; brothers, Stanley Wyman of Ashland, Massachusetts and Barry and June Wyman of Carmel; and sister, Barbara Kitchin of Detroit.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Hussey; sisters Phyllis Wyman, Janice Coston, Elaine Fortin and Gloria Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 14th, at the Village cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield. A gathering will follow at the family home at 223 Hussey Road, in Pittsfield.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

SUSAN MARIE TORRANCE

PITTSFIELD - Susan Marie Torrance passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014. She went peacefully in her sleep at Sebasticook Valley Hospital. She was the daughter of John Torrance and Mary (Clark) Torrance.
She had no children of her own, Sue had many children she loved and that loved her.
Susan is survived by her loving partner, Marie Alton; Susan's family, Margaret Torrance, Dee Robinson and husband Frank; brother, John Torrance and wife Dolores; special family, Bill Alton and his partner Diane Brown, Timothy Alton and their children and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in Susan's name to The American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, Maine 04074.

JOHN M. RUSSELL

RIPLEY & CALAIS - John Michael Russell, 19, died unexpectedly May 31, 2014 as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born February 26, 1995 in Bangor, a son of Roger and Jennie (Marcello) Russell, Jr. He graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 2013, and from Washington County Community College, Class of 2014. John was continuing his education at the college this fall. He studied to be a diesel mechanic and was looking forward to a future at Freightliner of Maine.
John enjoyed many sports, including playing football, wrestling, riding dirtbikes and snowsleds, and fishing.
In addition to his parents of Ripley, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, George and Sharon Couture; siblings, Christine Marcello, Kaitlyn Gantnier, (Summer Wilson) Jessie Gantnier, (Samantha Wilson) and DJ Gantnier, Jake Russell, Grace Russell; and his unborn daughter; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, his dog Mercedes, and many friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Audrey Branum; grandfather, Roger Russell, Sr.; and cousins, Jeremy and Michael Russell, Jr.
Friends visited from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 4th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services were held 11 AM on Thursday, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Burial will be in the West Garland cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses, c/o of Crosby & Neal.

ROLAND E. TOZIER

PITTSFIELD - Roland E. Tozier, 78, died peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Pittsfield.
Roland was born on September 17, 1935, in Hartland, Maine, the son of Roland and Florence (Connors) Tozier. He attended the local schools and married Jacklyn Jones on August 9, 1957.
In his younger years, Roland loved to bowl and play pool at Frenchie Bowling Alley in Pittsfield. He was self-employed for several years operating Tozier’s Carpet Sales and Service. He was employed as a police officer in the town of Pittsfield and also as a deputy for the Somerset County Sherriff’s Department. He served on the Pittsfield Town Council, was a past member of the Kiwanis International and had belonged to the Blue Knights of Bangor. He was a man known for his strong work ethic. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacklyn Tozier of Pittsfield; his children, Pamela Vance of Bangor, Rose Grattan and husband, Michael, of Liverpool, New York, and Daniel Tozier and wife, Lori, of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Devan Vance, Derreck Vance and wife, Jenn, Eric Stevens, Kristen Grobosky and husband, Ryan, Jenna Tozier, Ryan Tozier and Caitlin Tozier; great grandchildren, Damien, Julianna, Trinity, Dominic, Rowen and Jasmine; brothers, David Tozier and wife, Nancy, of St. Albans and James Tozier of Pittsfield; sisters, Judy Pease and husband, Roderick, of Hartland and Naydine Tozier of Pittsfield; brother-in-law, Louis Berry of Hartland; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Don Harriman of Palmyra.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Blaine Tozier; and a sister, Sandra Berry.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Skills Center at Sebasticook Valley Hospital and to the Hospice of Eastern Maine, especially to Bob Soulere, for the wonderful care and compassion given to Roland.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, May 27th, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield. A memorial service was held at 11 AM, Wednesday, May 28th, at the funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Parker officiating. A committal service followed at the Pine Grove cemetery, Route 152, in Hartland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brewer Cancer Center, 33 Whiting Hill Road, Brewer, Maine, 04412, in Roland’s memory.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

CAROLE MARIE WOODBURY

PARKMAN - Carole Marie Woodbury, 51, wife of Kevin L. Woodbury, passed away May 26, 2014, at her home. She was born July 5, 1962, in Meriden, CT, the daughter of Carroll T. and Charlotte M. (Smart) Clukey. She had worked at Hardwood Products for over 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, walking and spending time outdoors.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin; her father, Carroll Clukey; a son, Robert Thurlow, Jr. and his significant other, Tedianne Galuski; two daughters, Melissa Thurlow, and her significant other, Jeff Goodine, and Amanda Kain and her husband, Brian; 2 step-daughters, Heather and Kristin Woodbury and their families; 4 grandchildren, MacKenzie, Noah, Kolbin, and Daxton; three brothers and two sisters. Carole’s family extends a special thank you to her caregivers, Erika Libby, Nancy Beckwith, Adeline Harrington, and Deb Pelligrino. She was predeceased by her mother, Charlotte Clukey.

SHARON A. (WILBUR) LANE PINKHAM

KINGFIELD - Sharon A. (Wilbur) Lane Pinkham, 53, of Kingfield, passed away on May 15, 2014 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn, with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 11, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Jerold and Lauris (Hamblin) Wilbur. She was educated in the schools of Norwell, Massachusetts and graduated in the class of 1978. Following high school, she graduated from the Burdett School of Business in Boston. She worked as a bookkeeper for several small businesses. On September 24, 2011, she married Daniel B. Pinkham in Kingfield. Sharon enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, gardening, going to the local stock car races to watch Megan's half brother, Corey Walker and going for rides in the Jeep. She loved spending time with her family and her grandkids were her pride and joy. She adored her pets; her bird Quigley and her dog Hunter.
She is survived by; her husband, Daniel B. Pinkham of Kingfield; her daughter and best friend, Megan Hennessey and fiance Stanley Engstrom of Newport; her son, Jason Manganello and fiance Allie Smith of Boston; her grandchildren; Jacob, Lucas and Abby; her father, Jerold Wilbur and partner, Brenda of Ocklawaha, FL; her stepsons, Daniel T. Pinkham and wife Kate and boys, Owen and Miles of Nashville, TN, Craig Pinkham and wife Kim and children, Nolan and Lauren of New Vineyard; her sister, Shelley Wilbur and husband Jack and daughter Gabby; brother in-law, David Pinkham and wife Linda of Kingfield; sister in-law, Eunice Chase of Kingfield; special cousins, Carol and Larry Wilbur of Kingfield; her step granddaughter, Mikayla Lisherness; her special friend, Amy Dillon. She was predeceased by; her mother, Lauris Wilbur and her biological mother, Sandra Stulgin.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her home health hospice nurse, Bonnie, along with Linda and Valarie and the rest of the staff at the Hospice House. A heartfelt appreciation to Dulcey Holbrook of Phillips for her compassionate, day and night, concern and care.
Donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2014 at 1 PM at the home of Daniel and Sharon Pinkham, 272 Main Street, Kingfield, ME. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, ME 04938.

EDITH (WEATHERBURN) ALBIN

PALMYRA - Edith (Weatherburn) Albin, 100, passed away May 20, 2014 at a Pittsfield nursing facility. She was born July 22, 1913 in Worcester, MA, a daughter of Hardy and Elizabeth (Crompton) Weatherburn. She lived in Uxbridge and Millville, MA before moving to Palmyra in 2003 with her daughter.
She worked in the Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville, MA during the war. She also worked as a waitress at Bernat Yarn Company in Uxbridge, MA until retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping and fishing. Edith leaves 2 daughters, Edith Smyth of Palmyra and Jean Sweeney of Pascoag, RI; a son James Fior and his wife Sharon of Palmyra; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Goozey; 4 brothers, Hardy, John, Gordon and Harry Weatherburn; and a grand-daughter Barbara (Sweeney) Lachance.
Visiting hours were held Sunday, May 25th at the Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main Street, Uxbridge, MA, followed by the funeral service at 4 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date in St. John’s cemetery, Slatersville, RI. LUCY E. SEILE

CORINNA - Lucy Evelyn Seile, 82, died May 20, 2014 at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born June 29, 1931 in Dyer Brook, a daughter of Charlie and Alta (Anderson) Dow.
Lucy worked at Snowflake Canning Company, Eastland Woolen Mill, both in Corinna, and retired as produce manager for a number of Sampson’s Supermarkets. She was a member of the Corinna United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Corinna Senior Citizens and the Happy Hour Club.
She is survived by a son and wife, Vernon and Sandra Seile of Stonington; 2 daughters and their husbands, Vivian and Dick Sawyer of Oxford, Robin and husband Bobby White of Birch Harbor; a brother and his wife, Howard and Charlene Dow of Hampton, VA; and 2 sisters, Virginia Lister of Corinna, and Martha and husband Dick Clukey of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband Joseph, a great grandson Cameron Seile, 2 sisters, Louise Irish and Esther Brooks, 2 brothers, Leslie and Alfred Dow, a nephew Terry Dow and a niece Sharon Brooks Noyes.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, May 27th at the Corinna United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Bruce Hudson and Terry McKinley officiating. Friends may call from noon at the church until the time of services. Burial will be in Sangerville Village cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the Corinna United Methodist Church Sunday School Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 418, Corinna, ME 04928.

JERRY E. TAINTER

MONSON - Jerry E. Tainter, 79, passed May 19, 2014, at his home in Monson. He was born in Lewiston, December 10, 1934, the son of Gilbert and Erma (Martin) Tainter, and stepfather, Arthur Hall.
Jerry worked for many years in the woods and for Quimby’s Mill in Bingham and York’s Mill in Caratunk. He later worked for Moosehead Manufacturing in Monson. Jerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dover-Foxcroft.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Shea) Tainter of Monson; many cousins on the Tainter side, and one special cousin, Michael Thornton of Caratunk.
Jerry was predeceased by his son, Patrick A. Tainter on May 23, 1982.
The committal will be on May 29, 2014 at 12 noon, at the Lake Road cemetery in Monson. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dover-Foxcroft, on May 30, 2014, at 6 PM, all are welcome.
