SANDRA P. (CARROLL) SLATER

Sandra P. (Carroll) Slater, of Bridgewater, MA, died peacefully on March 5th, 2014 at the age 66. Sandra was the loving daughter of the late Harvey and Helen Willis and grew up in Bridgewater. She was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, Brockton Beauty Academy, and she also attended Massasoit College. Sandra married Robert Slater in 1967 and they raised their daughter in Bridgewater. She was a Bridgewater Public School bus driver for Lucini Bus lines during the 1970s and later worked for Wigs by Paula in Brockton. Sandra always enjoyed her trips to Maine, especially to Popam Beach and Newport. She enjoyed cooking, dancing with her husband, entertaining friends, listening to 1950s music, and one of her proudest achievements was being the Grand Marshal for the Bridgewater Historical Society’s 1976 Bicentennial Parade. Sandra was the loving wife of Robert D. Slater of Bridgewater and devoted mother of Nancy P. Sword and her husband Rick of Maine and grandmother of Daniel and Matthew. Sister of Wayne McCaul of Brockton, MA, two siblings in Maine, and the late Richard McCaul.
A visitation period was held at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, MA on Tuesday, March 11th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center Strett, Bridgewater, MA at 11 AM. Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover Street, Building 3, Hanover, MA 02339. DANIEL R. NEAL

DOVER-FOXCROFT - Daniel R. Neal, 62, formerly of Corinna, went to be with the Lord March 5, 2014. He was born May 10, 1951 in Rochester, NH, a son of Roger and Laura (Wheeler) Neal. He grew up in Barrington, NH on the old family farm. He married Mary-Elizabeth Kimball in 1984 and together raised 3 children. Daniel loved his family and was a loving and devoted father. He was physically handicapped from an accident years before but that never stopped him from doing things with his children. He loved nature and history and loved taking his children on nature trips, to museums and participating in all of their school functions. He also enjoyed camping and playing his quitar. He spent many hours reading his Bible and was a member of the Pleasant Street Christian Church in Corinna for many years.
Daniel leaves behind his wife and daughters Racheal and partner Ben Nightingale of Garland, Bridget and partner Matt Pimental of North Anson; and son Benjamin and wife Ashley of Ripley; 12 grandchildren. He also is survived by 2 sisters, Jackie Kessler of Barrington, NH, and Polly Neal of Kansas; as well as a step brother, Fred Schulz of Rochester, NH.
Friends called from 7 to 9 PM Saturday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held in the spring at Evergreen cemetery, Garland. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com

ALVIN L. NORRIS

PITTSFIELD & PLYMOUTH - Alvin L. Norris, 85, died February 21, 2014 at a Pittsfield health care facility surrounded by his family. He was born June 18, 1928, in Detroit, a son of Lewis and Cora (Smith) Norris. Alvin attended Detroit and Dixmont schools and enjoyed his early years at the family farms in both communities. He iserved in the U.S. Navy, the National Guard in Ft. Drum, NY, and the Naval Reserve in Bangor. He was a member of the Barrows-Skidgel Post #105 American Legion in Newport.
He was employed as a handsewer for many years and then as a night watchman for 16 years, both at Dexter Shoe in Dexter, and later in Newport.
Alvin is survived by his children, Robert and wife Melissa Norris of Newport, Glen and wife Marchella Norris of Ohatchee, Al, Beverly and husband Gerald Duplisea of Burnham, David and wife Marianna Norris of Barefoot Bay, FL, Richard and wife Marion Norris of Pittsfield, and Rachel Robinson of New York, NY; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Hart of Detroit. He was predeceased by his wife Thelma in December 2012; 2 brothers, Roland and Linwood Norris, and a sister, Eleanor Whitney.
Friends called at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport on Tuesday, February 25th, from 1 to 2 PM, followed by a brief service. Private burial will be in Dixmont Corner cemetery in the spring.

MARION L. SINCLAIR

CORINNA & DEXTER - Marion Louise (Wilber) Sinclair, 87, the wife of the late LaForest E. Sinclair, died, peacefully at the Dexter Health Care Facility Feb. 21, 2014 following a very brief illness and with family by her side. She was born June 29, 1926 in Nashua, NH, the daughter of Percy E. and Eva D. (Jameson) Wilber. She graduated from MCI in Pittsfield, class of 1944 and then worked at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna as a Weave Room Clerk, retiring in 1988. She and LaForest Sinclair were married Sept. 13, 1961. She was a former member of the Victoria Rebekah Lodge # 74 in Newport and the American Legion Auxillary. She had worked as a volunteer at the Methodist Church Food Pantry for many years. Marion had been a longtime resident of Corinna. Because of health reasons, she moved to Dexter Health Care two and one half years ago. Marion loved roses, lobster rolls, playing Bingo, animals (stuffed and real), and her many friends and family. The family sends special thanks to the Health Care nurses and staff for the excellent care and love provided to make Marion feel at home.
She is survived by a brother, Harold Wilber of Pittsfield; her girls, Carleen Harriman and Loretta Martin; a “granddaughter’’, Erica Henderson; a special cousin Nellie Soloniewicz; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Bonnie and Morris Holbrook. Marion was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sister Betty Palmer and brothers, Carl and David Wilber.
Friends called 1 PM Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at the Corinna United Methodist Church where funeral services were held at 2 PM with Reverend Terry McKinley officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of fellowship and light refreshments at the Church following the service. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Marion’s memory to the Dexter Health Care Activity Fund, 64 Park Street, Dexter, ME 04930. Arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home. FLOYD E. RICHARDSON, SR.

AUBURN - Floyd E. Richardson, Sr., 71, a resident of Buckfield, died Friday, February 21st, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born August 9, 1942 in Wellington, the son of Elmer E. Richardson and Annie (Cook) Richardson. He was a 1962 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. He served in Army National Guard. On September 2, 1967 at the Turner Center Church, he married his soul mate of 28 years, Pamela Parks. She passed away, December 15, 1995. Floyd and his brother “Scamp” had a school bus fleet that they owned and operated for Turner schools and he later worked for 28 years as maintenance supervisor for SAD #52. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cribbage, ocean fishing for Blues and Stripers, and was a Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed going to camp, with his brothers, “Scamp” and George, their Dad Elmer, and close friend, Hezzi. Floyd especially loved the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Annie Richardson of Turner; three daughters, Amy Farnum and her husband Kevin of West Paris; Deirdre Stone and her husband Kenny of Monson; and Kathleen Daigle and her husband, Marc of Chatham, NH., twin sons, Norman “Chuck” Richardson and Floyd “Chip” Richardson, Jr. both of Buckfield; son-in-law, David Hamann of Buckfield; three sisters, Eva Leppenan of East Greenbush, NY., Lola Budek and her husband Al of Turner; Joan Deschenes and her husband Roger of Turner; his brother, George Richardson and his wife Linda of Turner; sister-in-law, Mary Richardson of Turner; grandchildren, Megan Smith, Ashlee & Garrett Hamann, Nicole Rice, Benjamin & Joshua Farnum, Alyce Anne Richardson, Quinton Cameron, Malcolm and Maddelynne Stone; Branden, Logan, Gaige, Caden, Kaelynn, Zoë & Rutger Daigle; Mackenzie & William Richardson; great-grandchildren, Derrick Brooks, Addyson Rice, Mallory Smith and many beloved extended family members. He was predeceased by his father, Elmer E. Richardson, his loving wife, Pamela Richardson, daughter, Heidi Hamann, his sister, Louise Richardson and his brother, “Scamp” Richardson; brothers-in-laws, Lloyd Bryant and Ray Leppenan. PHYLLIS M. GLIDDEN

RIPLEY - Phyllis M. Glidden, 92, died February 24, 2014, at a Pittsfield nursing home. She was born September 17, 1921, in St. Albans, the daughter of Philander and Edna Knowles.
She was a member of the 7th Day Advent Church in Dexter.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, William J. Glidden.
She is survived by a son, Bruce Glidden and his wife, Joanne of Dexter; 2 daughters Mrs. James (June) Clukey and Mrs. Phillip (Jeanette) Clukey all of Ripley; 9 grandchildren, Bill, Diane, Jeremy, Christopher, Lisa, Dominic, Heather, Scott, and Rick; and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 PM, Saturday, March 1st, 2014, at the 7th Day Adventist Church on the corner of Spring and Mill Streets in Dexter, with close family friend, Mike Robbins officiating. The service was followed by a potluck meal.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the West Ripley cemetery in Ripley.

DAWN M. STANLEY

GARLAND - Dawn M. Stanley, 54, died February 27, 2014, at her home in Garland. She was born May 24, 1959, in Dexter, the daughter of Gerald Holt Shaw Jr. and Mary Alley Marson.
Dawn loved art and music, and enjoyed drawing and playing her guitar.
She is survived by her companion, Jeff Lindsay of Garland; 3 sons, Preston Butler of TN, Matthew Butler of Kansas, and Detric Stanley of Bangor; a daughter, Patricia Griffith of St. Albans; 8 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lori McFarlin of Etna, Kathy York of St. Albans, and Anita Marson of TN; 3 brothers, Alan Shaw of Corinna, Austin Shaw of IL, and Michael Shaw of Fairfield; many nieces and nephews.
No public services are planned at this time.

KORIE ROSALEE FLEMING

Sweet baby girl, Korie Rosalee Fleming, beloved daughter of Michael Fleming II and Jaimee (Bird) Fleming, was welcomed into this world November 12, 2013 and was called to our Heaven February 15, 2014.
During her short time on this Earth she touched many lives and was loved deeply by her parents, Michael and Jaimee; paternal grandparents, Michael and Marlene Fleming; maternal grandparents, William III and Laurie Bird; 3 aunts, Marcedes Fleming, Jessica Bird, Shenae Fleming; 1 uncle, Myles Fleming; cousins, Lauryn Bird, Ciani Fleming; 4 great-grandmothers, 3 great-grandfathers, 1 great-great-grandmother, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and family members

LOIS “ANDY” BOULIER

EAST NEWPORT - Lois “Andy” M. Boulier, 83, died February 24, 2014 at her residence following a year long battle with cancer. She was born August 25, 1930 in Stetson, a daughter of Wayman and Blanche (Lawrence) Boulier. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1950.
She had been employed as a spinner at Ski-Land Woolen Mill in Clinton, Wyndotte Mill in Sidney, Guilford Industries in Newport and Forest Yarns in East Newport, retiring in 1995.
Andy was an avid sportswoman. During the weekends, she could be found camping and fishing at Packard Landing on Sebec Lake with family and friends sharing memorable stories. She always looked forward to hunting season and going to Gene’s fields to get her “Big Buck”, which she had done throughout the years. Her biggest trophy was a 16 pointer. Andy also enjoyed snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter.
After retirement, her time was spent working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She always made time to go for evening car rides with her sisters, Helen and Marion, looking for deer and turkeys in the fields in Exeter and Corinth. Andy enjoyed going to the county in the fall to cut broccoli, bringing back bags full to share with family and friends. She always thought of others first; giving her time and conversation to many.
She is survived by her loving sister, Marion Austin of Newport; a cousin, Maynard Call of Palmyra, who was always there for conversation and especially in the fall when he brought boughs for around her home; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; including a special niece, Bunny Braley, her friend, Mary Thompson, and her sister, Marion who cared for Andy, making it possible for her to stay at home where she was the most happy, and a sister in law, Florence "Flossie" Boulier of Palmyra.
She was predeceased by her parents; her siblings, Kenneth, Joe, Helen Haining, Thelma Eaton and 2 infants, Leon and Wayman, Jr.; brother Edwin Boulier; and a special friend of 40 years, Marjorie Brann.
The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice, especially Jean, Kim and Vanessa, for their care of Andy.
Funeral services were held 1 PM on Friday, February 28th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport with the Rev. Ellen Bridge officiating. Friends called from noon until time of services. Following the funeral service, family and friends were invited to the Barrows-Skidgel American Legion on North Street in Newport for a time of fellowship and refreshment. Spring burial will be in the Morse’s Corner cemetery, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 654 State Street, Bangor, ME 04401. GEORGIA ANNA BOYDEN NOBLE

BROOKSVILLE, FL - Georgia Anna Boyden Noble, 69, passed away peacefully in her home, February 11, 2014 after a brave battle with Lung Cancer. Georgia was born March 15, 1944 in Skowhegan, ME. Daughter of the late Arthur Lyle and Bessie Poor Boyden. Before retirement, she worked at Hardwood Products of Guilford, ME, Delong Sportswear in Harmony and Dexter Shoe Company for many years. She had been an Avon representative and an active member of the Eastern Star & the West Ripley Ladies Extension. Georgia was raised on the family dairy farm in Clinton where she developed her very unique, outgoing personality. She was a hard working woman but made time to enjoy life. She and her husband retired and made friends quickly in their new Florida home. She had a generous soul, giving of herself where she saw need. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers Irving & Storer Boyden, husband Dana C Noble and one grandchild, Mark M. Thomas, Jr. She leaves a loving family behind, her four sister in-laws, Grace & Louise Boyden, Helen and husband Raymond Bolstridge, Evelyn and husband Edward Farrar. Georgia and Dana raised four children, a son Paul Noble of Cambridge ME & his friend Trudy McLeod. Three daughters, Gaye & husband Frank Richards of Mapleton, ME, Tammy Thomas and friend Lewis Littlefield, III of Brooksville, FL, Kathy & Richard Vining of Spring Hill, FL. Ten Grandchildren, Dana Noble & fiancé Jessica Emerson, Trapper Noble, Dwight Noble, Heather & husband Mark Copeland, Lucas Richards & fiancé Renee Hemmingway, Kimberly & husband Kennith Boehmer, Stephanie Thomas, Elizabeth & husband Jon Gillway, Justin & his sister Alyssa Vining. Four great grandchildren. Twins, Kennith & his sister Kristen Boehmer, Paul & his sister Lilly Noble. Many nieces, nephews, cousins & good friends.
Services will be held in the Spring of 2014 at the Memorial Garden cemetery, Cambridge, ME.

JOSEPH E. GUAY, SR.

CORINNA - Joseph Guay, Sr., 83, died February 19, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born September 20, 1930 in Fort Kent, a son of Wilfred and Anna (Bossie) Guay. He attended Corinna Union Academy and received his diploma from Nokomis Regional High.
He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received 2 Bronze Stars. Joe was employed as a herdsman for Ken Chambers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was president of the Swampy Run Beagle Club. Joe was a lifetime member of the Shirley B. Carter Post #4298, VFW in Dexter.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie (Martin) of Corinna; 2 sons, Joseph, Jr. and wife Bonny of Hudson, John and wife Alice Guay of Corinna; 2 daughters, Mary Ann and husband Jeffrey Pinkerton of Bangor, Beth and husband Ronald Simpson of Corinna. He was “Papa Joe” to 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Joe will also be remembered as well by dear family friends, Dean and Jane Weeks.
Friends called from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services were held 11 AM Saturday, February 22nd, with the Rev. Terrance McKinley officiating. A military committal will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shirley B. Carter Post # 4298, P.O. Box 441, Dexter, ME 04930.

RICHARD H. DAVIS

CAMBRIDGE - Richard Harold Davis, 85, died February 6, 2014 at his Harmony Road residence. He was born August 4, 1928 in Dexter, a son of Harold and Hazel (Chadbourne) Davis. Richard served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a heavy equipment operator for Frank Quimby and the Cianbro Corporation. Richard was a past master of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge. His family remembers him as a good husband and father. He was much loved.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eva (Carle) Davis of Cambridge; 2 sons, Richard P. Davis of Brownville Junction and Kevin Davis of Cambridge; 3 daughters, Debra and husband Bruce Ireland of Hermon, Kathy and husband Armand “Pit” Hebert of Cambridge, Christine “Joette” and husband Clarence Worster of Cambridge; 3 sisters, Beverly and husband Frank Quimby of Stockton Springs, Virginia Murphy of Peabody, MA, Dorothy and husband Harold Perkins of Cambridge; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Herbert Bruce Davis.
Spring graveside services will be held at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Cambridge. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
