KATHLEEN M. MURPHY

Kathleen M. Murphy, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, surrounded by family at Eastside Nursing and Rehab.
Kathleen, known as Kay, was born in Easton, Maine on December 5, 1928, to the late Pastor Basil O. Wright and Mrs. Vivian Wright.
She was married to the love of her life, William Murphy, for fifty-nine years. He predeceased her in 2005. Together they had four children: Richard Murphy, who predeceased her in 2006; Allen Murphy, of Milo; Sandra Carron, of Pittsfield, and Suzzanne Murphy of Davenport, Florida.
Kay is survived by eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
She worked as a waitress at the Lancey House for many years. She later went on to work and retire from the Edwards Company with twenty-five years of service.
She enjoyed playing cards like SkipBo, UNO, and Phase 10. She was known for her passion for shopping and gave new meaning to the phrase 'Shop until you Drop!'
She is best remembered for her passion for pretty clothes and matching jewelry. Of course, the nail polish and shoes must also match.
Most of all, she loved to worship The Lord; fellowship with her church family; and sing His praise. It is with peace that her family accepts her passing into eternal life with Him.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 AM, Monday, January 12th, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Thomas Duperry officiating. A reception will follow at the Solid Rock Church at 122 Manson Street in Pittsfield. A committal service will be held in the spring at the Village cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Solid Rock Church of God, PO Box 122, Pittsfield, Maine, 04967, in Kay’s memory.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

WILLIAM H. BATT

NEWPORT - William Harrison Batt, 79, died unexpectedly April 26, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Center in Togus following a year long illness.
William was born in Brockton MA, April 12, 1937 the son of Harrison C and Marion C (Doten) Batt.
William was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam era. He served for four years as a Radar Technician.
He was employed as a furniture finisher at Ethan Allan for many years. He liked feeding and watching the birds. He loved playing his guitar, long walks along the railroad bed and Sunday drives. He loved animals especially his cats.
William is survived by his wife of 48 years Melva (Jones) Batt of Newport, an uncle and his wife Glenn and Lois Cookson of East Freetown Mass., and several cousins. He will also be remembered by special neighbors; Danny Murray, Debbie Bishop, and Larry Gray.
The family would like to give a special thank You to the visiting nurses and to the Hospice nurses at Togus. Graveside services will be held later in the spring at Riverside cemetery Newport.

TERRY L. HALEY

PITTSFIELD - Terry L. Haley, 30, of Wiscasset, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home.
He was born August 18, 1984 in Pittsfield, Maine.
Terry was a graduate of Nokomis High School in Newport and worked at Bath Iron Works as a Welder. He will be remembered for his love of animals and the out doors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Terry is survived by his mother, Valerie Haley of North Oxford, Massachusetts; his father, Terry Frost of Burnham; his daughter, Trinity Frost of Columbia Falls; his maternal grandmother, Eleanor Hackette of Orrington; six half-siblings: Christiana, Michael, Roland, Wayne, Tanya and Rose; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private services will be held at the convenience of his family. Interment will be in Palmyra. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543. CLAIRE LACERDA

ST. ALBANS, ME/BRISTOL, RI - Claire Ida (Violette) Lacerda, 88, wife of the late Joseph Lacerda, died peacefully on December 15, 2014.
Claire was born on November 8, 1926, the daughter of Pierre and Emelia (Morin) Violette. She served as the Administrative Assistant to the town of St. Albans for nine years. After her retirement, she worked part-time at both the Hartland and Palmyra town offices and served as Notary/Justice of the Peace in Maine.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Lafontaine and her husband, Roland, of Ocala, FL and Melanie Petit and husband, Timothy, of Bristol, RI; four sons, Thomas Mickle and wife, Maureen of Warrenville, SC, Charles Mickle and wife, Deborah, of Fall River, MA, Joseph Lacerda and wife, Julie, of Aurora, ME and Steven Lacerda and wife, Regina, of Hartland, ME; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her six sisters, Yvonne, Alma, Alice, Rita, Cecile and Doris; and four brothers, Ernest, Theodore, Jean and Peter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Street, in Pittsfield. A committal will immediately follow at the Maloon cemetery in St. Albans. All are welcome to attend the reception at Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Hartland following the committal.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

WEALTHY O. SHAW

PALMYRA - Wealthy (Bowdoin) Shaw, 77, died April 24, 2015 at a Skowhegan hospital. She was born February 5, 1938 in Ripley and graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1957.
She retired from Sebasticook Valley Nursing Home in Pittsfield in 1990. Wealthy enjoyed crafting with family and friends. She was a troop greeter at Bangor International Airport for 7 years.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dale Call, Sr. of Palmyra, Rex Call, Sr. of St. Albans; a daughter, Nancy Watson of Palmyra; 3 step sons, Jeffrey Shaw of Romona, CA, James Shaw of Lakeside, CA, and Dwayne Shaw of Fairfield; a step daughter, Linda Gogan of Unity; 21 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren.
Wealthy was predeceased by her husband Robert, Sr. in 2007; 2 sons, Galen Call in 1985 and Terrance Call in 2008; a step son, Robert Shaw, Jr. in 1996; and a daughter in law, Penny Call in 2014.
Graveside committal services will be held at Palmyra Village cemetery later in the spring.

ALTON “KEN” CROSS

DEXTER - Alton “Ken” Cross, 86, died April 16, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. He was born in Harmony, November 13, 1928, the son of Harold and Freda (Potter) Cross.
He joined the US Army and served as an MP guarding Japanese prisoners in the Philippines following WWII. After returning from the service, Ken worked for several of the local industries, retiring from Dexter Shoe Company in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria (Clukey) Cross of Dexter; a son, Ronald “Butch” Foster of Sangerville; 2 daughters, Juanita Paine and her husband, Michael of NH, and Bonnie Stevens and her husband, Rev. Kevin Stevens of Parkman; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal will take place later in the spring at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.

WINIFRED F. (FARNHAM) BAILEY

CORINNA - Winifred F. (Farnham) Bailey, 86, passed away April 14, 2015 at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born June 22, 1928 in Dexter, the daughter of Elwin B. and Norma Ruth (Reynolds) Farnham.
She was educated in the schools of Dexter. On May 17, 1948, she married Lionel Bailey in Dexter. He died September 21, 1969. Winifred was employed as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Hibbard's Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft for over 20 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed crafts and being with her family.
Winifred is survived by 2 sons, Keith T. Bailey of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Robert L. Bailey of Garland; 2 daughters, Gail A.Larry and husband Kenneth of Guilford, and Nancy J. Rush and husband Jerry of Dexter; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel; and 3 brothers, Keith, Kenneth and Norman.
There will be no visitation hours or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing, may make donations in Winifred's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

SUSAN J. WATSON R.N.

PITTSFIELD - Susan J. Watson R.N., 65, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 18, 2015 at her Pittsfield home following a long period of ill health. She was born in Northampton, MA, April 23, 1949 the daughter of Frank and Marion (Beatty) Rock. She graduated from Amesbury, MA High School and Mercy School of Nursing, Springfield, MA where she received her R.N.
For over 25 years she worked as a Registered Nurse at hospitals in MA and ME. She and her husband worked for 10 years as co-drivers for commercial trucking companies visiting 42 of the 50 states and many Canadian Providences.
Susan’s first priority was her family, and she adored her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Raymond E. Watson Jr., her daughter and husband Anne and Clint Lasselle Sr. of Pittsfield, three grandchildren; Clint Lasselle “CJ” and his girlfriend Bethany Grant of Pittsfield, Ceaera Lasselle and her boy friend Forrest Roats of Palmyra, Mason Lasselle of Pittsfield, her great granddaughter Delilah Anne Reynolds of Palmyra, three sisters, 3 brothers including Nick Rock of Washington State. She was predeceased by four brothers and a sister. At Susan’s request there will be a private family gathering at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High Street, Newport.

DELIA M. ROBICHAUD

CORINNA - Delia Mary (Willette) Robichaud, 101, died April 23, 2015 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born August 9, 1913 in Loggieville, New Brunswick, a daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Saunier) Willette.
She went to school at St. Mary’s in Bangor and had worked as a sewer at Eastland Woolen Mill. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter. She is survived by a son Edward of Corinna; a daughter, Sallie Morancie of Brewer; 15 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren.
Delia was predeceased by her husband Lionel “Pete” Robichaud; 2 daughters, Sylvia Clukey and Eunice Allen; and a son Fred “PeeWee” Robichaud; 2 sons in law David Clukey and Terrence Morancie.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 29th, at Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, April 30th, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 64 Free Street, Dexter, with the Rev. Fr. Robert Gaudreau officiating. Burial will be in the Corinna Center cemetery later in the spring. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 654 State Street, Bangor, ME 04401. JEAN B. KOMAR

DEXTER - Jean B. Komar, 83, died April 20, 2015 at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born in Bronx, NY, March 26, 1932,
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William J. Komar of Dexter; 4 daughters; 7 sons; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
A graveside service will be planned at a later date at the Evergreen cemetery in Garland.
