LENORA IRENE (CHADBOURNE) WATSON

HARMONY — Lenora Irene Watson, 85, died August 13, 2015 at her residence. She was born July 9, 1930 in Harmony as the 10th of 11 children to George Newell Chadbourne and Mae Emma (Gilman) Chadbourne. She graduated as Salutorian of Harmony High School on November 23, 1947. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Alva Watson, and raised 3 children.
Lenora worked cleaning camps at Perkins Campground, and at Tissue’s Boarding Home in Athens. She worked at various shoe manufacturing companies and at Delong Sportswear in Harmony. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard Watson of Harmony; a daughter Carol Watson of Skowhegan; sons Clay Watson and wife Judy, Eric Watson and wife Stacey, all of Harmony; her cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler and Kelsey Watson; a brother Clyde Chadbourne and wife Rosemarie of Cambridge; sisters in law Hazel and Meredith Chadbourne, both of Harmony. Lenora is survived by too many nieces and nephews to name; however, all were very special to her and she enjoyed each one’s phone calls, visits and letters.
Lenora was predeceased by brothers, George, Jr., Ray, Clayton, Norris and Cecil Chadbourne; and sisters Effie Gourley, Doris Blanchard, Collen Wilbur and Emma Watson.
Memorial services were held at 2 PM Tuesday, August 18th, at the Harmony Baptist Church, with Pastor Henry Thibodaux officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harmony Ambulance, 37 North Road; or the Harmony Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5, both of Harmony, ME 04942.
The family wishes to than Maine General Hospice for the care and support they provided, especially Sandra, Julie, Nicole, Debbie and Michelle.
Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.

CONSTANCE H. CROSBY

DEXTER — Connie Crosby, 81, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at her home. She was born March 19, 1934 in Cambridge, a daughter of Stanwood and N. Arline (Folsom) Ham. After moving to Dexter at age 4, she graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1952, and Husson College with an executive secretarial associate’s degree in 1954.
She was employed as secretary to Elwin Crosby at both the Western Auto Stores and at Crosby Funeral Homes. Connie married Elwin’s son Alton on July 1, 1957, and continued working at the various family businesses until her retirement. She was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, serving a number of years as church treasurer, and as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Dexter Women’s Literary Club and the Gideons Auxiliary. Alton and Connie enjoyed 22 years at Avon Park, Florida. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter at the time of her death.
In addition to her husband of Dexter, she is survived by 2 sons, Michael and wife Terri of Newport, and Jonathan of Dexter; 2 daughters, Karen and husband Kyle Frewin of Benson, AZ, and Julie and husband Gary Perkins of Exeter; a brother, Richard and wife Pauline Ham of Dexter; a sister, Linda and husband Theodore “Ted” Davis of Bethel; a sister in law, Corinne and husband A. Maurice Neal of Dexter; 6 grandchildren, Joshua and wife Mary Frewin, Chelsea Frewin, Chandler and Logan Perkins, Madelynn and Arianna Crosby; several nieces and nephews.
Friends called from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Funeral services were held at 11 AM Saturday, August 15th at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter with Pastor Stan Griffin officiating. Burial will follow a brief gathering at the church at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Dexter. Memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, P.O. Box 131, Levant, ME 04456.

SALLY CIANCHETTE DWINELL

NEWPORT — Sally Cianchette Dwinell, 82, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born July 20, 1933 in Pittsfield, a daughter of Joseph Ralph Cianchette, Sr. and Estelle (Susi) Cianchette. Sally graduated from MCI in 1951 and completed nurse’s training at New England Deaconess Hospital in 1955. She enjoyed a long, fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1994.
Sally married Kevin G. Dwinell on May 4, 1956 and together they raised four nearly perfect daughters. Sally’s outgoing personality and caring nature made her a favorite sister, aunt, cousin, and neighbor, and she made life-long friends wherever she went. Sally and Kevin spent many years traveling to Arizona and Florida during the early years of their retirement, but she always looked forward to coming “home to Maine”. She enjoyed being in her log house on the lake, where she was always happiest entertaining family and friends. Her door was always open and the coffee pot was always on.
Sally is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kevin Dwinell; her daughters Maxine “Muffy” and husband Maurice “Moe” Pare, Margaret “Midge” Gamboa and Kelly Pressey. She will be missed by three of the nicest, best-looking grandchildren whom she loved and adored, all of whom she maintained had the most beautiful personalities: Andrew Gamboa and wife Marjie, Allyson Pressey and Kevin Pressey; as well as three great-grandchildren who could do no wrong: Jayla and Jaxson Jandreau and Nahla Gamboa. Sally is also survived by her brother Joseph R. Cianchette, Jr. and his wife Greta, sister-in-law Theresa Cianchette and brother-in-law Richard House, as well as many dear nieces and nephews who brought her great joy. Sally wanted everyone to know that she found much enjoyment visiting with her friends and family members over coffee or lunch, and she held you all dear to her heart.
Sally was predeceased by her parents, her brother Edward Cianchette, Sr., her sisters Carolyn “Kay” Monroe and Maxine “Mickey” House, and her daughter Mary “Missy” Dwinell.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 10 to 11 AM at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. A brief memorial service will follow at 11 AM, with internment immediately after at the Pittsfield cemetery on Peltoma Avenue in Pittsfield. All are invited to attend a gathering at St. Agnes Church’s Parish Hall on Detroit Avenue following the graveside committal.
Gifts in Sally’s memory may be made to the Sebasticook Valley Hospital’s Ambulance Service, 447 North Main Street, Pittsfield, Maine 04967.

ARTHUR E. YOUNG

PITTSFIELD — Arthur Young, 82, died peacefully on August 4, 2015, in Pittsfield.
He was born on April 20, 1933, in Unity, Maine, the son of the late Ernest and Ruth (Wood) Young. He worked as a supervisor and sales representative in the shoe manufacturing business for many years.
Arthur was a very humble yet self-sufficient man. He and his wife, Beverly, raised their five children together; family was everything to him. He enjoyed tinkering and restoring older cars and was recently helping his son, Chris, restore a 1971 Cutlass. Arthur liked playing cards, Poker was a favorite. He loved getting together with his family and “cramming” them all in his home. October was a special time of splitting and stacking wood together for the winter. He also liked to banter back and forth and was quite the jokester. He was a past member of the Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge #2713. He was loved very much and will be missed beyond measure.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Morton and husband, Larry, of Pittsfield, Loretta McNichol and companion, Steve Staples, of Gorham, Rhonda Faloon and husband, Rod, of Pittsfield, Penny Young of Pittsfield and Chris Young and wife, Melissa, of Detroit; grandchildren, Jason Morton and wife, Suzy, Marti Allen and husband, Nate, Jennifer Migliore and husband, Andrew, Jill Faloon, Janelle Faloon and David Young; 11 great grandchildren; special niece, who was just like a daughter, Cathy (Davis) Rivers and husband, Wayne, of Newburgh; special niece, Jackie Rowell and husband, Mervin of Pittsfield; special nephew, Larry Davis and wife, Mary, of San Diego, California; grand nephews, Andrew and John; grand nieces, Lianna and Shannon; several other nieces and nephews, who were all very special to Arthur.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Beverly Young in 1975; and his sister, Nellie Davis in 2004.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, August 10th at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, August 11th at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Ouellette officiating. A committal service will immediately follow at the Village cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, Pittsfield. All are welcome to attend a celebration of life immediately following at the Elks Lodge, 140 Middle Street, Pittsfield.
Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, Maine, 04074 or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA, 02210, in Arthur’s memory.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

RAYMOND “RAY” THEREAU

ST. ALBANS — Raymond Francis Thereau, 65, died July 30, 2015 at his residence following a long illness. He was born December 16, 1949 in Rumford, a son of Francis and Dorothy (McPhee) Thereau. He graduated from Stevens High School and was employed in the area paper mills and construction until retiring in 2011. Ray loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church.
Ray is survived by his wife, Edith (Barber) Thereau of St. Albans; 3 sons, Jeffrey of Plainfield, CT, Glen and wife Ann of Moosup, CT, Jason and wife Jennifer of Ripley; a daughter Jennifer and husband Charles Tewksbury of Dayville, CT; 2 brothers, Richard and wife Christine of Roxbury, Gregory and wife Sheryl of Parris, Florida; 5 sisters, Shirley Derouche of Bath, Rose Robbins of Dixfield, Barbara and husband Arthur Simons of Rincon, GA, Sharon and husband Leonard Bolduc of Perry, and Sally Robbins of Carthage; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 PM on Monday, August 3rd, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Friends called from noon until the time of the funeral. Burial will follow at Maloon cemetery, St. Albans.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ripley United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o David Mosley, 35 Pine Street, Dexter, ME 04930.

ALBERTA L. (NYE) NELSON

DEXTER — Alberta L. (Nye) Nelson, 86, passed away July 27, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 22, 1928, in Dover Hill, New Brunswick, Canada, the oldest daughter of Orlo and Margaret (Kennedy) Nye.
She was married in 1947 to her beloved husband, Edward Nelson, who predeceased her in 1977, after 30 years of marriage.
“Bert” lived her life in both Corinna and Dexter, working and raising her children. She worked in the potato fields and at Snowflake Canning Company, and she retired from Dexter Shoe Company in 1995. She and her husband owned and operated Nelson’s Diner in Corinna for many years.
She enjoyed baking, crocheting, and gardening, and she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Diana and her husband, Stanley Berube of Dexter; Ronnie Nelson of Corinna; and Reggie Nelson and his wife Paula of Carmel; her grandchildren, Sandra and her husband Bill Fletcher of Falmouth and Beaver Cove; Karen and her husband Adam Russell of Newport, and Roger and his wife, Cheryl Berube of Azle, TX; great-grandchildren Katie, Anna and Grace Fletcher, Owen and Madelynn Russell, and Jamye, Steven, and Bridgitte Berube; a sister Edith and her husband Rick Zajac of Newport; two brothers, Donnie Nye and his wife Mary of Corinna, and Gerald Nye of Hampden; a special sister-in-law, Diane Nye of Corinna; and many good friends.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 4th at the Corinna Village cemetery in Corinna.
Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.

PAUL ELWIN BOOTH

PITTSFIELD — Paul Elwin Booth, 60, died at his home on July 23, 2015, in Pittsfield.
He was born on October 5, 1954, in Hartland, Maine, the son of Ralph and Christine (Sherburne) Booth. He graduated from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1972. He worked many different jobs during his life and retired from Sonoco in 2012 due to failing health. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, cooking, being at family get-togethers and especially talking his grandchildren into jumping in mud puddles with him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Benita (Bowker) Booth and spoiled dog, Maggie, aka Taco; children, Peggy Rines and husband, Gene, Christy Booth-Stock and husband, Brian, Katie Pinkham and husband, Andy, all of Pittsfield, Heidi Gray and husband, Wallace, of Stetson, Shannon Chipman and husband, Troy, of Hartland and Hillary Clewley and husband, Mike, of Belgrade; grandchildren, Christopher and Katelynn Rines, Rylee and Logan Stock, Grady and Isabelle Pinkham, Chelsea and Charity Labree, Faith, Lily and Ryan Walsh and Nicholas, Jocelynn and Abigail Clewley; siblings, Nancy Booth of Newport, Thomas Booth of Pittsfield and Mary Morse of Portland; special nephews, John Booth and Lee Fuller; and numerous friends that he loved as family. He will be lovingly missed and always remembered.
He was predeceased by his father, Ralph, on May 18, 1994; and his mother, Christine, on July 11, 2015.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

CHRISTINE S. BOOTH

NEWPORT — Christine S. Booth, 81, died on July 11, 2015, at her Newport home, following a six month battle with cancer. She was born in Hartland, on April 6, 1934, the daughter of Earl and Vivian (Rollins) Sherburne. She attended Hartland schools and was a graduate of Hartland Academy.
She married Ralph Booth of Pittsfield on July 6, 1949. He predeceased her on May 18, 1994. They raised four children, a grandson Lee Fuller, and a nephew Perry Booth.
Christine worked at Baxter Canning Factory in Hartland, she picked potatoes, worked in different shoe shops, worked at Edwards Co. in Pittsfield, and Wal-Mart in Palmyra.
Christine and her husband had a foster home for mentally handicapped for many years. After her husband's death she did respite work for foster children.
As a young family Christine and Ralph enjoyed going to horse pulling and visiting with friends. In later years she enjoyed going to Blue Grass festivals and country music jams.
She is survived by her four children, Nancy Booth of Newport, Thomas Booth of Pittsfield, Paul Booth and his wife Benita of Pittsfield, Mary Morse of Portland; four sisters, Gladys Woodman of Hartland, Ruth Brown of Hartland, Una Shakespeare and her husband Stanley of Palmyra, Kathleen Vogt of Welton, Ariz., one brother Earl Sherburne and his wife Jackie of Skowhegan; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and four brothers.
A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High Street, Newport, with Hospice Chaplin Tim Curtis officiating.

FRANCIS C. SOUCY

DETROIT — Francis C. Soucy, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in Pittsfield.
Francis was born on January 20, 1926, in Skowhegan, one of eight children to Prime and Alice (Bolduc) Soucy. He served our country in the United States Army during World War II and was proud to have served two different terms. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Joseph R. Sanford Post #3198 in Skowhegan.
Francis was a shoe cutter by trade, working at Dexter Shoe, Northeast Shoe and SAS Shoe. He liked playing cards, watching war movies, riding his snowmobile and in his younger days, he really enjoyed his motorcycle. He was looking forward to the birth of his great nephew, Hunter, in September. He also belonged to the Senior Citizens Group in Pittsfield.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Beatrice Soucy of Detroit; his sisters, Cecile Connolly and Agatha Corson, both of Skowhegan; brother, Romeo Soucy of Madison; special niece, Tiffany Field of Detroit; many nieces and nephews; and a very devoted extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his siblings, Arthur Soucy, Juliet Holt, Rita Ames and Irene Tuttle.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Monday, August 3rd, with a memorial service immediately following at 2 p.m., at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. A committal service will follow at the Village cemetery, Route 220, in Detroit.
Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Travis Mills Foundation (a nonprofit organization that was formed to assist wounded and disabled veterans) 89 Water Street, Hallowell, Maine, 04347, in Francis’ memory.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
