Elias G. Neseralla

WINSLOW — Elias George Neseralla, age 84, of Winslow, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, in Waterville, after a long illness.

He was born March 4, 1916, in Waterville, the son of Massoud and Theresa (Abdo) Neseralla. He graduated from Waterville High School.

Mr. Neseralla served in the U.S. Army, from 1942 to 1946, in the United States and the Pacific Theater, including Okinawa.

He was employed at Wyandotte Worsted Wollen, in Waterville.

Elias was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Lebanon Youth Society. He was a member of St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church.

Elias was an avid reader, and kept up on current events. He enjoyed classical music, and had a vast collection of opera recordings, and classical records and tapes.

Mr. Neseralla was predeceased by his parents, and sisters Mary and Annie Neseralla.

He is survived by his sister, Sadie Neseralla, of Winslow; a brother, Joseph, and his wife, Concetta, of South Windham, Conn.; nephews Thomas, and his wife, Dena, of Hebron, Conn, Bryan, and his wife, Christine, of Enfield, Conn., and David, of San Rafael, Calif.; godson Ralph Giguere, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and several great-nephews.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 29, at Gallant Funeral Home, Elm Street, Waterville.

Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, corner of Front and Appleton Streets, Waterville, with Fr. Samuel Najjar officiating, assisted by Deacon Peter Joseph.

If desired, memorial gifts may be made to St. Joseph Maronite Building fund.

Lurah A. Barnard

HIGHLAND PLANTATION —Lurah A. Barnard left her family on Thursday, May 25, 2000, to be with our Lord.

Our mother was born at Highland Plantation, and loved this area all of her life. We were so happy when she was able to be here with her family in later years.

She led an adventurous life, residing in Maryland, Florida, and Maine over the years.

Lurah loved her family, church, and friends.

She was a wonderful gardener, and worked hard landscaping our home.

Twenty years ago, she lost her beloved husband, Don L. Barnard, which brought her from Florida home to Maine.

Her presence will be so missed by her son, George A. Corrieri II; her daughter and son-in-law, Patrice and Gregory Drummond; her granddaughters, Kate, Maggie, and Anna Drummond; and two grandsons, George A. Corrieri III, and Anthony Corrieri. She is also survived by her brothers, Barney Dillon, and Charles Dillon; her sisters, Marjorie Gray, and Happy Pinkham; in addition to many cousins, nephews, and a special second daughter, Laurie Scott.

Lurah requested that we not have a funeral, however, family and friends are invited to her home, in Highland Plantation, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, for a get-together. For additional information, call (207) 628-4681.

Ella G. Messeder

NEW VINEYARD — Ella G. Messeder, 82, died at her New Vineyard home Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, following a long illness.

Mrs. Messeder was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Bristol, Conn., the eldest of three children of Catherine and Kenneth Stiles, both deceased, of Watertown, Mass. She graduated a member of Watertown High School class of 1936.

In 1946 she married John A. Messeder Sr., then of New York City.

Following his retirement from the New York Police Department in 1958, the couple and their children became residents of New Vineyard, where they built their home on Porter Lake. Mr. Messeder died in 1971.

For 25 years she worked as an in-home tutor with Franklin Adult Basic Education, helping many county adults achieve literacy and earn GEDs.

She was a two-term Past Worthy Matron of Oppalunski Chapter 125 Order of Eastern Star, and past president of the Star Club. She was a past president of the New Vineyard Public Library Board of Directors, past president of the New Vineyard Republican Committee, and a member of the Franklin County Republican Committee.

She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Parish, in Farmington.

Mrs. Messeder enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, outdoor sports, and instilled in all her children the love of books and travel.

Her brother, Ernest "Buddy", died in 1947.

Her sister Marion, of Greenfield, Mass., survives her. She is also survived by her sons, John Alan Jr., of Gettysburg, Pa., and Richard, of New Vineyard; her daughters, Lois, of Gloucester, Va., and Lillian Lake, and her husband, Mark, of Wilton; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Middle St., Farmington, with Fr. Roger Chabot celebrant. Interment will be in Village Cemetery, in Strong.

Mrs. Messeder, who lived with diabetes for more than 35 years, has asked that those wishing to, make monetary donations in her memory to Androscoggin Home Care Hospice, Route 2, Wilton 04249, and acts of kindness be practiced randomly among her friends and neighbors.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, 108 Court St., Farmington.

Timothy A. Morin

GILBERT, Ariz. — Timothy Allen Morin, 51, of Gilbert, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Chandler.

"Tim" was born Nov. 21, 1948, in Waterville, Maine. He graduated from Waterville High School and attended Seattle University on a golf scholarship.

In the spring of 1967 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a radioman, and went on to become a Navy career counselor and recruiter. He retired Feb. 1, 1989, as a senior chief petty officer.

Tim was an avid golfer, getting his inspiration from Jack Nicklaus. His friendly manner and his positive attitude earned him many friends. He formed the successful Sunbird Bandits League, attended Mundus Institute for golf management, and was valedictorian at San Diego Golf Academy, where he obtained an associate degree. He was currently working toward his PGA.

He is survived by his spouse, Fulljahan; sons, Kamal and Shawn; parents, Bettina and Bernard; brothers, Peter and David; sister, Kim; three grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, in the chapel at St. Timothy's, Mesa.

Arrangements are by Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 South Dobson Road, Mesa.

Edward C. King

WATERVILLE — Edward C. King, died Friday evening, Nov. 10, 2000, at his residence at the age of 78.

He was born Aug. 11, 1922, in East Millinocket, the son of Florent and Susan (Fortine) King.

Mr. King served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, from 1939 to 1942.

He was then employed at the former Great Northern Paper mill as a mason for 38 years, retiring in 1984.

Mr. King belonged to the carpenters and jointers local union, and was also a member of the American Legion Post in Millinocket.

He is survived by one son, Edward F. King, and his wife, Donna, of Fairfield; one daughter, Cinda M. Berticelli, of South Bend, Ind.; his ex-wife and favorite companion, Joan G. King, of Waterville; one brother, Louis King, and his wife, Mona, of East Millinocket; four grandchildren, Nino and Anthony Berticelli, of South Bend, and Scott and Caitlin King, of Oakland; three stepgrandchildren, Mandy, Nathan and Dustin; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, East Millinocket. Interment and committal prayers will follow in East Millinocket Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.

Flora M. Poirier

WATERVILLE — Flora M. Poirier, 88, went to join her loving husband and son in the house of our Lord Jesus Christ. She died of an injury, and passed Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, in Waterville.

She was born in Waterville, June 18, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Lulu Young.

Flora worked at Diamond Match Corp., and retired in 1974.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Paul E. Poirier Sr., March 15, 1990, and a son, Richard.

Mrs. Poirier was a communicant of Notre Dame Parish.

She was always a loving and giving mom and memere, providing all around her with strength, love and great wisdom and values.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeannette Hall; sons, Paul Poirier, and Harold Poirier, and his wife, Marianne, of Waterville; one brother, Raymond Young, and his wife, Joanne, of Winslow; special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all loved and respected her.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Notre Dame Church, 112 Silver St., Waterville. Committal prayers and burial will follow, in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.

Harold W. Louder

LEXINGTON, Mass. — Harold W. Louder, 92, of Lexington, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Sudbury, Mass.

He was born Jan. 24, 1908, in Bristol, Pa., and graduated from Maine Central Institute, in Pittsfield, Maine, and Bates College, in Lewiston, Maine, class of 1931.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth E. (Mudgett) Louder.

Survivors include his son, H. Wayne Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Acton, Mass.; a daughter, Mary Louder Ahlers and her husband, Alvin, of North Yarmouth; five grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Beth Strom Louder, Gregory and his wife, Laura Louder, and David, Susan and Katherine Ahlers; a great-grandchild, Grace McMorrow Louder; and his sister, Marion Hansen, of Falmouth, Maine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Church of Our Redeemer, Meriam Street, Lexington. A committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Clinton, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston MA 02114.

Keith C. Stockford

MERCER — Keith Charles "Speedy" Stockford, 82, of Mercer, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Skowhegan.

He was born June 5, 1918, in Mercer, son of Robert and Etta (Lloyd) Stockford.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in Europe and North Africa with the 495th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, and Central Europe earning the Good Conduct Medal, The European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre campaign ribbon and the Defense Service medal.

He was employed as a pipeline laborer for Shell Oil Co. in Hartford, Conn., and also hauled gravel in the Mercer area for many years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dardana Stockford, his parents, three sisters and a brother.

Survivors include a stepson, Allen Therrien and his wife, Debbie, of Vernon, Conn., and a stepdaughter, Anne Jenness and her husband, Joe, of Canaan; two granddaughters, Paula Baran and family, of Newington, Conn., and Laura Lapointe and family, of Jamestown, S.C.; brothers, Robert and Lewis Stockford, of Mercer; sister, Georgianna "Dot" McLaughlin, of North Anson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Oakland. Burial will be at the East Mercer Cemetery.
