SANDRA A. BROCKWAY

NEWPORT — Sandra Ann (Webber) Brockway, 73, passed away in the early morning of January 18th, 2017.
She was born September 19th, 1943 in Dexter, a daughter of Merville and Carlene (Frautten) Webber. Sandra married Milton M. Brockway on June 24th, 1961 in Dexter, and together they raised four children.
Sandra was well known by her friends and family for the many dishes she created. Her most well-known and much requested was her fudge recipe. She was happiest when she was cooking and surrounded by her large family. Her refrigerator was always filled with leftovers, and everybody loved to dig in. Her house was full of kids and every one of those kids made themselves right at home. Her lap always had a baby sitting there. Sandra was a member of the People’s United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children, Michael Brockway and wife Linda, Michelle and husband PJ Shrantz, Laura Brockway, and Doug Brockway and his wife Raquel; her siblings, Merville Webber, Jr., Darlene Hill, Barbara Collins, Bryant Webber, and Elwood Clapp; and her very special in-laws, Doris & Robert Young, Phyllis Clukey, and Barbara Cloutier. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jordan, Kristen, Angela, Michael, Anthony, Jenna, Brittany, Jillian, Macy, Camille, Edison, and Nirvana; her great-grandchildren, Max, Bentley, Gavin, Paisley, Enzo, and Zoey.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, Milton, on April 13, 2011. Together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage. She was looking forward to being reunited with him once again. She was also predeceased by her parents and her sister Joyce Davis.
A celebration of life was held at 11 AM Friday, January 27th at People’s United Methodist Church, Newport, with the Rev. Ellen Bridge officiating. Spring burial will be in Morse’s Corner cemetery, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, Sandra has requested that donations be made in her memory to People’s United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 182, Newport, ME 04953.
Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.

NELLIE MAY DAY

HARTLAND — Nellie May Day, 76, died January 11, 2017 at a Pittsfield hospital following a long illness. She was born in Hartland, June 14, 1940 the daughter of Porter and Marjory (Wallace) Weymouth. She attended Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield.
She was a woman before her time. She enjoyed working on cars. She enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. She enjoyed doing assorted crafts and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed animals especially dogs.
Nellie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son Harold of Hartland, her daughter-in-law who she thought of as a daughter, Nancy Haskell of Plymouth, grandson Scott and his better half Jessie of Skowhegan, granddaughter Amber and her husband David of and great grandson Tyler, of Skowhegan, granddaughter Jennifer and her better half Fred, and great granddaughter Shelby of Hartland. She was immensely proud of her family. Her strength, compassion love and common sense will be greatly missed by all. We will love and miss you, Ma!

MARION (SEVEY) CONNORS

PITTSFIELD — Marion (Sevey) Connors, 80, died January 17, 2017, in Orono, Maine, after a long illness.
Marion was born January 19, 1936, to Beatrice Tewksbury Sevey and Leroy Sevey. She grew up in Ripley, graduated from Dexter High School and worked in various banks as a teller, which is where she met her husband of 50 years, Gerald Connors, who passed away in 2008. They were married in 1957 and lived in Pittsfield where they raised their two sons and a daughter.
Marion enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping with family and friends. She was an avid seamstress. She also loved taking pictures of the beauty of Maine while exploring the various
places they went and things that they enjoyed together. She enjoyed baking and canning her garden’s harvest. Before Gerald passed, they took a RV trip with special sister and brother in law, Rachel and Gene Beall, from Maine to Texas to visit family in Texas.
She is survived by her children, Ken Connors and wife Mary, Alan Connors and his wife Lisa and Darlene Steeves and her husband Ron (Bo); six grandchildren, Candace Connors, Russell Connors and wife Cortney, Adam Connors, Christopher Connors, Robert Steeves and wife Natalie, and Michael Steeves; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Hutchins and Florence Brawn and husband Frank; a brother Clyde Sevey and wife Flora; and several nieces and nephews.
A service of Remembrance was held at 1 PM, Friday, January 20, 2017, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield.

OLIVE IRENE EMERY GRAY

KITTERY — Olive Irene Emery Gray, 92, of Government Street, died peacefully at Durgin Pines in Kittery, Maine on Sunday, January 15, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones.
Olive was born the eldest of six children to the late William and Hazel (Buzzell) Stevens of Newport, Maine on May 8, 1924. She graduated from Newport High in 1942.
While in high school Olive worked for The Hart Seed Company where she met her future husband, Kenneth Ross Emery, in the onion patch. They married in 1942 and in the same year moved to Kittery, Maine where they raised their four wonderful children, Olga Spooner, Donna Grabofsky, Carroll Emery, and Joyce Rasque.
Olive worked for the Kittery Highway Department as a secretary, and later for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk in Kittery Point, ME and Portsmouth, NH where she retired in 1988.
She was a long standing, dedicated member of NARFE, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Society of Mayflower Descendants, the American Postal Workers’ Union and St. Marks Methodist Church in Kittery, Maine.
Olive is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Ross Emery, 2 siblings Norman L. Stevens and Margaret Stevens Bean as well as son-in-law Freeland ‘Burky’ Spooner. She leaves 3 siblings Doris Cutten, William Stevens, and Marilyn Smith, 4 children, Olga Spooner widow of Freeland ‘Burky’ of Somersworth, NH; Donna Grabofsky and John of Corinth, Maine; Carroll Emery and Joanie of Kittery, Maine; Joyce Rasque and Stuart of Eliot, Maine; eleven grandchildren, Kelly Stowell Melvin, Kenneth Stowell, Kristen Spooner Fuller, Jennifer Grabofsky Potvin, Robert Grabofsky, Meghan Emery Atwater, Brenna Emery Hillock, Carol Emery, Heather Rasque Ross, Karen Rasque Hughes and Aaron Pyle; 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A time of visitation was held from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, January 19th, 2017 at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME. A funeral service was held at 11 AM at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2017, with The Rev. Dr. Bruce Boria, officiating. CLYDE G. CHADBOURNE

CAMBRIDGE — Clyde G. Chadbourne, 91, passed away January 12, 2017, at his home in Cambridge. He was born August 20, 1925, in Harmony, a son of the late George and Mae (Gilman) Chadbourne. Clyde was a graduate of Harmony High School, served in the U.S. Navy, retired from Grumman's Aerospace in Bethpage, NY after 25 years, and enjoyed hunting, gardening, wood-working and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Rosemarie, of Cambridge; two daughters, Linda Burger of Holbrook, NY and Karen Kovach of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Eileen Burger of White Plains, NY, Kristine Kasheta of Shady Side, MD, Erik Burger and wife, Britt, of Smithtown, NY, Lauren Kovach of Boston, MA, Kathleen Burger of Kingston, NY, and Susan Kovach of Manchester, NH; two great-grandchildren, Maeve and Kellan Burger; a brother-in-law, Richard Watson, and sister-in-law, Hazel Chadbourne, both of Harmony; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his five brothers and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Chadbourne cemetery in Harmony. NEAL JOSEPH BRYSON

PITTSFIELD — Neal Joseph Bryson, 68, passed away Sunday, January 8th, 2017 in Pittsfield.
Neal was born on March 25, 1948, the son of Lewis and Luella Bryson of Corinna, ME. Neal was a Vietnam Veteran. He also worked at various jobs throughout his life. He worked making furniture, farming, construction, fire fighter and cleaning. He loved spending time with his family, going on camping trips, fishing and traveling the Maine coast. When he retired he got to spend more time with his grand-kids, Breanna True, Caraden Bryson and Deamion Cyrus. He loved and enjoyed the special times with Caraden, taking him to sporting events, fishing and going for joy rides. Neal was married to Laurie Bryson (Curtis). They loved and enjoyed their two children, Daniel True and Brandie Bryson. He was a special brother to siblings, Edward Bryson, Lewis Bryson, Larry Bryson, Michael Bryson, Dolly Bryson and Robin Hunt.
There will have a get together on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at the First Congregational Church in Pittsfield from 5 to 7 PM. Graveside service will be held at a later date.

MELDON W. LIBBY

MADISON — Meldon Wayne Libby, 71, died January 5, 2017 at a Skowhegan hospital. He was born April 26, 1945 in Unity, a son of Albert and Margaret (Fay) Libby. He was a longtime mechanic at Hight Ford in Skowhegan and will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman.
Meldon is survived by his daughter, Tammi, husband George Edwards, and their son Baron, all of Lincoln; his fiancée, Juanita Graves of St. Albans; his siblings, Kathleen Brown of Canaan, Galen and wife Marie Libby of Madison, Elton and wife Judy Libby of Skowhegan, Phyllis Balog of Waterville, Wilda and husband Jim Dow of Turner. He was predeceased by siblings Albert Libby, Jr., Marjorie Lawton, and Royce Libby and wife Winnie.
A memorial service was held at 1 PM Saturday, January 14th, at the Pleasant Street Christian Church in Corinna. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Rest cemetery, Athens. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be sent to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848, Longmont, Colorado 80502.

BEATRICE J. SOUCY

DETROIT — Beatrice J. Soucy, died peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2017, with her loving family by her side, in Skowhegan.
She was born on September 27, 1935, in Detroit, Maine, the daughter of Cecil and Erma (Bryant) McLaggan Sr. She graduated from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1954. She married Francis Soucy on October 7, 1967 and they shared 47 years together. Bea worked at the Edwards Company in Pittsfield and retired from there after 36 years of employment.
Bea liked cooking and baking brownies and no bake cookies. She enjoyed church services, music and the Bible was precious to her. Her daily phone calls to her sister, Lorraine and her weekly chat with her brother, Jr, were very special to her. She belonged to the Senior Citizens Group of Pittsfield and the Pittsfield Driftbusters Snowmobile Club.
She is survived by her siblings, Delbert McLaggan and wife, Joyce, of Detroit, Royce McLaggan of Plymouth and Lorraine Bouffard of Pittsfield; sisters-in-law, Michele McLaggan of Detroit, Doris McLaggan of Georgia, Aggie Corson of Skowhegan and Betty Soucy of Skowhegan; brother-in-law, Romeo Soucy of Skowhegan, special niece, Tiffany Field and husband, Russ; and many devoted nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Francis C. Soucy in 2015; sister, Colleen Hobbs; brother, Cecil McLaggan Jr.; brothers-in-law, Arthur Soucy, Linwood Soucy and Normand Bouffard; sisters-in-law, Cecile Conley and Rita Ames; and nephew, Normand “Bub” Bouffard.
The family received friends from 2 to 3 PM, Tuesday, January 10, with a memorial service that immediately followed at 3 PM, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. A committal service will be held in the spring at the Detroit Village cemetery, Route 220, in Detroit.

DAVID E. WEBB

DOVER-FOXCROFT — David E. Webb, 76, died January 7, 2017, at his home. He was born April 27, 1940, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Charles P. and Marguerite T. (Paul) Webb. He was a mason and a member of Mosaic Lodge #52 and second section Anah Temple Shrine. David owned and operated Heart of Maine Exterminating for 34 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jacqueline; three daughters, Tamara Cox and her husband, Chris, Lorrie Edgerly and her husband, Steve, and Michelle Robicheau and her husband, Ryan; nine grandchildren, Amanda Barlan, Hartley Gilbert, MaryCatherine Cox, Jennifer Gould, Brian Duplisea, and Caleb, Alex, Ben, and Johnny Smith; six great-grandchilren; and several nieces and nephews. David will be missed by his special dog, Taffy. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
A memorial service with Masonic services was conducted 2 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Rev. Ray Beless officiating. Following the services, a gathering was held at the Penquis Higher Education Center, 50 Mayo St., Dover-Foxcroft. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.

ROBERT A. HARTSGROVE

PLYMOUTH – Robert Albert Hartsgrove, 92, died peacefully January 4, 2017 at a Hartland nursing facility with his wife by his side still holding his hand. He was born February 19, 1924 in Perham, a son of Fred and Nettie (Green) Hartsgrove. He attended schools in Perham and Caribou. Bob entered the U. S. Army in 1949 and was stationed in Texas and Germany. He was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Bob was still putting in his own firewood at age 90. He attended the Jubilee Family Worship Center in Newport. Bob married the former Ina Cook of Palmyra and had three sons, Richard, Malcolm and James, all of Newport; two daughters, Rebecca Bean and Lorraine Albair, both of Corinna; 12 grandchildren; great grandchildren and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 PM Monday, January 9th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Spring graveside funeral and committal services will be held at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Palmyra, with the Rev. Scott Black officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maine General Hospice, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903.

ELIZABETH “DORIS” RANDALL

PALMYRA – Elizabeth Randall, 84, passed away peacefully January 1, 2017 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born August 2, 1932 in Caribou a daughter of Clayton and Blanche (Humphrey) Langley. Doris attended Palmyra and Newport schools, where she met and later married her beloved Jack. They were married on November 6, 1950 and had a long, happy life together for 64 years, until his passing in 2014.
Doris worked as a school lunch cook at the Palmyra Consolidated School for 22 years. She also worked at Guilford Woolen Mill until her retirement.
Doris and Jack had two daughters Linda Marie and Anna Mae. She was a great mother and was thought of as a “mother figure” by many others who were close to her. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She never missed a family- or friends- get together where everyone always gathered around their special Aunt Doris. She also enjoyed country music and loved to sing along when her brother Bob played his guitar at those family gatherings. She enjoyed life to the fullest and never took anything for granted. She always had a happy, positive outlook on life.
Doris was a strong willed person and had great faith. We know she is resting peacefully with her husband and daughter. She will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Burleigh; her grandson Garrett Allen Burleigh; a sister in law, Sudie Faye Davis; three sisters, Joyce Cocheran, Violet and husband James McLellan, Maxine and husband Larry Plissey; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jack Randall, a daughter Anna Mae Randall, and a brother Robert Langley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sebasticook Valley Health for their great care.
Spring graveside committal services will be held at Riverside cemetery, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
