Albert E. Flood

1944-2002

WATERVILLE — Albert E. Flood, known to all as "Ed", 57, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in a vehicle-pedestrian accident while working in Windsor on Tyler Road.

He was born Dec. 3, 1944, in Burnham, the son of William Huff and Albert Huff, mothers, Laura Huff and predeceased by Elizabeth Flood.

Survivors include his former spouse and companion, April Flood; sons, Albert Nutter, Richard Nutter, daughter, Rhonda Cote; five grandchildren, Justin and Megan Nutter, Brian and Ross Cote, and Kobe Nadeau; four brothers, Brian Huff, Rod Huff, Roger Huff and Tim Huff; three sisters, Janet Frost, Lila Casanaugh and predeceased by Nan Duprey; many nieces and nephews; and also a close friend, Wanda Reynolds.

He had been employed by Lucas Tree since 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His No. 1 passion was collecting antiques. He loved spending time with his family and bowled for many years on a league. He was known to everyone as a simple, gentle kind and caring man. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Rhonda Cote, 11 Wentworth Court, Oakland ME 04963, to be used for a charity in Albert's name.

Nathan K. Frost

1985-2002

WINSLOW — Nathan Kenneth "Nate" Frost, 17, of Winslow, died Wednesday morning, July 31, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Vassalboro.

He was born June 21, 1985, in Waterville, son of Donald and Diane (Proctor) Frost.

Nate attended Winslow High School and was preparing to start his junior year this fall. Nate was an excellent student who earned high academic achievement including participation in the Johns Hopkins Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth. Along with his passion for learning he was also involved in many sports including hockey, soccer, football, camping, hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting and paint balling. Nate's well-rounded personality earned him many friends. His thirst for life and love for and from and with his family and friends is unmeasurable. In the very short time of his life he had numerous achievements and accomplishments, along with on going aspirations to succeed. Nate had a passion of excitement and love that he found with his family. He had a special relationship and bond that he shared with his best friend and father, Don. His extraordinary personality was greatly developed and influenced by his mother, Diane.

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Diane Frost of Winslow; his sister, Heather Proctor and her fiancé, Peter Tibbetts, of Waterville; his paternal grandparents, Ken and Betty Frost of North Vassalboro; his maternal grandparents, Merle and Betty Proctor of Fairfield; 10 aunts and uncles, 28 cousins, several great-aunts and great-uncles; a great-great-uncle; his faithful dog, Sidney; and his special friends, Erin, Juan, Ashley, Jamie, Lindsay, Megan, Nikki, Ben, Scott, Amber, Courtney, and many more.

He was predeceased by his aunt, Charlene (Proctor) McKenzie.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monument Street, Winslow, with the Rev. Paul Plante officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Village Cemetery in North Vassalboro.

Francis Loisel

1939-2002

WATERVILLE — "Butch", 62, as we all fondly called him, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 1, 1939, the son of the late Fernand and Theresa Loisel. Butch was born and raised in Waterville and resided at the Durban apartments. He was home schooled.

For the past 25 years he was a volunteer for the Seton and Thayer units. He began his volunteer work in December of 1977. For the past 19 years, he was at the Seton information desk offering his friendly smile. When Butch was not volunteering, he enjoyed spending time on the computer and meeting people from afar. He also liked playing cribbage with anyone who was up for the challenge. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was No. 18 Bobby Labonte. He also loved his country music and had a big CD collection.

Survivors include two sisters, Trudy Petrow and husband Mike of Vermont, Kitty Bouchard and husband John of Winslow, and his brother, John Loisel and wife TerryAnn of Belgrade. He also had many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Butch had had to overcome many personal obstacles and had been an inspiration to everyone. He will be sadly missed by all.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Sacred Heart Church, Pleasant Street, Waterville, with the Rev. Phillip Tracey officiating. Committal prayers will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.

Teresa A. Arsenault

1915-2002

BROOKS — Teresa A. Arsenault, 86, passed away suddenly at her home, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002. She was born in Brooks, Oct. 11, 1915, the daughter of Rosco and Ethel Webber.

Teresa was active in the Eastern Star for many years and was honored to serve as the Worthy Matron of the local chapter. She was an avid outdoor person, enjoying fishing, camping and gardening.

Survivors include four children, James Arsenault of Skowhegan, Donna Diffenderfer of Vero Beach, Fla., Paul Arsenault of Strong, and Kathleen Gleason of Henniker, N.H.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Beulah Cunningham of Brooks; two brothers, Ludolph Webber of Sidney and Richard Webber of Swanville; 14 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Arsenault; two sisters, Winona Miklovich and Essie Roberts; and a brother, Norman Webber.

Following cremation family and friends will gather from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Arsenault home, Sunday, Oct. 13. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Rackliffe Funeral Home and Central Cremation.

Rose Theresa Grivois

2002

WATERVILLE — Rose Theresa Grivois, 77, of Winslow, passed away at Glenridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Augusta, Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, following a period of failing health.

She was born in Winslow, the daughter of Vital and Roseanne (Lavertu) St. Amand.

She was employed as a housekeeper for Waterville Osteopathic and Inland Hospital of Waterville.

Theresa was predeceased by a son, David Grivois, and daughter, Nola, Sept. 5, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Grivois and wife, Diane, of Waterbury, Conn., and Allen Grivois of Northampton, Mass.; sister, Leone Duplessis of Van Buren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.

Trisha Lyn Johnson

1982-2002

THORNDIKE — Trisha Lyn Johnson, 20, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at a local hospital.

She was born June 23, 1982, in Meriden, Conn., Trisha attended Mount View High School in Thorndike and graduated from Belfast Area High School. She enjoyed playing high school basketball, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, fishing, camping and swimming.

She worked at the Depot Restaurant in Unity and most recently at the Comfort Inn in Belfast.

Trisha was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Arthur Johnson, and maternal grandfather, Richard Williams.

She is survived by her maternal grandmother, Lee Williams, her paternal grandmother, Wilma Johnson; her parents, William and Linda (Williams) Johnson of Thorndike; her brothers and sisters, Jason Johnson of Unity, Julie Johnson of Alaska, Travis Johnson of Thorndike, Tobey Johnson of Thorndike, Brian Johnson of Thorndike, Aaliyah Johnson of Thorndike, and Jenna Johnson of Thorndike; and her fiancé, Ira Bailey, of Thorndike.

Visitation will be held between 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Knox Ridge Baptist Church, Knox Ridge, with the pastor Rev. Henry Grift officiating. Interment will follow at the Jackson Cemetery, Jackson. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the church after the interment.

Esther L. Wilbur

1924-2002

WATERVILLE — Esther L. Wilbur, 78, of Waterville, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at home with family and friends at her bedside. She was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Corning, N.Y.

Survivors include her sister, Adeline Bobbitt of Orlando, Fla.; three children, Judith Ames and husband, David, of Buckfield, Robert L. Wilbur of Oakland, and Richard D. Wilbur and wife, Marcia, of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, Lincoln Ryder and Charles Goodwin, and grandson, Richard S. Wilbur.

She was employed by Thayer Hospital (MaineGeneral Medical Center) in Waterville from 1966 until 1990. She enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and relatives and helping those in need.

At her request viewing and service was private.

Evelyn Mae Boivin

1917-2003

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — Evelyn Mae Boivin, 86, of New Bloomfield, Mo., died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Columbia.

She was born July 24, 1917, in Belgrade, Maine, the daughter of Wallace J. and Ruth E. Thompson Bickford. She was married Sept. 23, 1938, in China, Maine, to Ubald D. Boivin, who died July 5, 1994.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the Roy Sone Post 1003, VFW.

She was a homemaker and had been employed as a cook in several restaurants and schools.

She is survived by three daughters, Glenis Powell of Columbia, Janet Boivin of Mathiston, Miss., and Alice McKenzie of Sturgis, Miss.; three brothers, Paul Bickford of Wilton, Maine, Philip Bickford of Belgrade and Howard Bickford of East Wilton, Maine; one sister, Jeanne Bakhuizen of Antrim, N.H.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Michaud, Shirley Mercurio, Beverly Carr, Patricia Edgecomb and Bonnie Foster; two brothers, William Bickford and Wallace Bickford.

Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville, Maine. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Buescher Memorial Funeral Home, Jefferson City, Mo.

Constance (Connie) Hillman

1924-2003

WATERVILLE — Connie Hillman, 79, of Waterville, died peacefully with her family and good friend by her side, on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003.

She was born in Madison on June 30, 1924, daughter of Hazel and Philip Humphreys. She was a graduate of Madison High School, class of 1942, and Westbrook Junior College.

Connie was known for her strength, courage, integrity and quick sense of humor. She also had a strong love for all animals.

She had a heart of gold and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a daughter, Sally Cowan, and her husband, Dana, of Skowhegan; two sisters, Muriel Willeford of South Carolina and Janet Ramos of Harpswell; and a brother, Ray Humphreys of Cumberland. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Hillman; a son, Brian Hillman; and a daughter, Dianne Bearor.

A private graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Forest Hills Cemetery in Madison.

Donations may be made in her memory to "Save Our Strays," P.O. Box 445, Fairfield ME 04937.
