Wilrose Leger

Wilrose Leger - Grew up in OOB (Old Orchard Beach) Tewksbury, Mass. Wilrose "Pete" Leger, 85, of
Tewksbury, died Dec 21 at E. N. Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford after a lenghty illness. He was born
in Southbrough, June 2, 1907, a son of Michael Oswald and Mary Jane Lattinville Leger. He attended
school in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. A veteran of WW II, he served in the U S. army.
Mr.Leger was an auto mechanic most of his life. He was a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks
Lodge No. 2070.
Survivors include his wife Anne Mannett Leger of Tewksbury, one sister, Marguerite Armstrong of Old
Orchard Beach: several nieces and nephews.
Charles Everett Leger

Charles Everett Leger - Charles Everett (Red) Leger, 61, a resident of 57 Cedar Ave., this community,
died Saturday night in a Biddeford Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born at Westboro, Mass., Sept 17, 1909, the son of Oswald and Mary (Lattinville) Leger. He has
been a resident of this community most of his life and was educated in local schools. A member of the
local fire department for a number of years. He was also a member of the Maine State Firemens
Federation of Firefighters, Inc.
Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Foster (Irene) Leavitt Jr. of Saco, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Audie of
Farrell, PA., and Mrs. James (Elaine) Roux of Alexandria, VA; one step daughter, Mrs Warren (Carol)
Libby of Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Preston Armstrong and Mrs. Harry Ladakakos, both of this town; a
brother, Wilrose Leger of Tewksbury, Mass: 21 grand-children and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. from the Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home, 36 Portland
Ave., here. Internment will be in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Auburn, in the spring. Friends may
call at the home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m..
Marguerite F. Armstrong

Marguerite Armstrong - Marguerite F. Armstrong, 87, of Atlantic Ave, died Wednesday at Southern Maine
Medical Center, Biddeford. She was born Jan 31, 1912 in Old Orchard Beach, a daughter of Oswald and
Mary Lattinville Leger, and was a graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School.
Mrs. Armstrong was employed as a telephone operator at the Old Orchard Beach exchange, and worked
19 years for the Old Orchard Beach school lunch program at Jameson School. During summers she was
employed by the Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce, retiring many years ago. She was a
member of St. Margaret's Sodality, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, a former member of the Maine
Retrievers Club, Saco Adult Center, Old Orchard Beach Senior Center and the Senior Citizens Bowling
League. She enjoyed bowling.
She was predeceased by her husband, Preston Armstrong in 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Donald P. of Mannomett, Mass and Gordon of Old Orchard Beach; two
daughters, Janet (Mrs Albert) Kinan and Dale (Mrs David) McElory of Stoughton, Mass;14 grand-children
and nine great grand-children.
Mrs. Irene B. Ladakakos

Irene Ladakokos - Old Orchard Beach- Mrs. Irene B. Ladakakos, 59, a resident of 9 Third St., this
community, died Nov. 18 at a Portland Hospital following a lenghty illness.
Born here Dec. 13,1913, she was the daughter of Oswald amd Mary (Lattinville) Leger. Educated in local
schools, Mrs Ladakakos was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church her and retired last yer from
Fairchild Semiconductor Corp, South Portland, due to illness.
Surviving are her widower, Harry J. Ladakaos of this community; a son, Louis Ladakakos of Saco; a
daughter, Mrs Carol Peterson of Stoughton, Mass; a brother, W. Pete Leger of Tewksbury, Mass; a sister,
Mrs. Preston Armstrong of Old Orchard Beach; four grand-children and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, here and
internment will be in the family lot at St. Mary's Cemetery, Biddeford.
Friends may call at the Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home, 36 Portland Ave. here Tuesday from 3:30 to 5
and 7 to 9 p.m..
Mrs. Fern C. Leger

Mrs. Fern C. Leger - Mrs. Fern C. Leger, 84, of 40A Cedar Ave., died last night at the Maine Medical
Center in Portland after a short illness.
She was born in Auburn, April 18, 1915, the daughter of Ralph G and Effie Cutler Coombs. She was
educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1933.
Mrs.Leger is survived by her widower, Charles E. Leger; two daughters; Mrs. Carol Hascal Libby and
Mrs. Ellen Ruex both of Minot; two step-daughters; Mrs. Irene Leavitt of Saco and Mrs. Lorraine Audie of
Farwell, PA and 31 grand-children.
Funeral Service will be held at Blummer and Merrill Funeral Home, 212 Turner St. Auburn on Monday,
Aug 4 at 1 p.m. with internment to take place in Oak Hill Cemetery
in that city.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to4 P.m. and 7 to 9 p.m..
