Robert H. Graham

ANDOVER -- Robert H. Graham, 78, died in Andover on May 21, 2012. He was a resident of North Main Street in Andover.

Born in Lynn, MA on January 25, 1934, he was a son of Robert and Ruth (Packard) Graham. He was a graduate of Saugus High School in Saugus, MA with the Class of 1951.

He was aninstrument maintenance engineer at Boise Cascade Paper Mill for 14 years in the Research Dept. and then owned and operated Telstar Technical Service for over 18 years until his retirement in the early 90’s.

He enjoyed the outdoors with his wife especially hunting, fishing, boating, trapping and camping. He also enjoyed carpentry and had built several of their homes with his wife. He was an accomplished artist.

He was married in Andover on May 24, 1973 to Erma Jean Freeman, who survives of Andover. Other survivors include three daughters, Lois, Diane and Debra; four sons, Rob, Ricky, Randy and Bob II; a sister, Lois; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Brenda and Diane; and four step-sons, Al, Tim, Chris and Stephen.

Harry E. Trask, Jr.

ELLSWORTH -- A memorial service for Harry E. Trask, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 at the Ellsworth Church of the Nazarene, 445 High St., Ellsworth.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.

Robert "Gee" Gallant

RUMFORD -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert “Gee” Gallant will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Parish of the Holy Savior.

Arrangements are under the care of S.G. Thibault Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Rumford.

Shirley M. McKenna

RUMFORD -- Graveside services for Shirley M. McKenna will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Cemetery.

Christian Burial will be officiated by Father Phil Tracy. Friends and family welcomed to attend.

Fred F. Bartlett

RUMFORD -- Funeral services for Fred F. Bartlett of Mexico was conductedon February 11, 2012 at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, with his son, Gregory Bartlett officiating.

Music selections were Battle Hymn of the Republic and the Caisson Song. Words of remembrance were given by sons, Gregory and David Bartlett, granddaughter, Chelsey Bartlett, and great-granddaughters, Alicia and Katie Walsh.

Interment with military honors will be conducted in the spring at the Rumford Center Cemetery.

Edith A. Milligan

RUMFORD –- Edith A. Milligan, 84, died on April 5, 2012 in Fort Myers, FL. She was a resident of Rumford.

Born in Southern Pines, NC on October 28, 1927, she was a daughter of William and Edna (Simpson) Avery. She was a graduate of Stephens High School.

She was an avid beano player and Red Sox fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family; rug braiding; wintering in Fort Myers, FL. She was also a foster mom along with taking care of her eight children.

She was married in Rumford on May 17, 1948 to Earl Milligan.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Earl; five sons, Gary and his wife, Terry of Texas, Steve and his wife, Janet of Arkansas, Allie and his wife, Marie of Alabama, Phil of Andover, Dan and his wife, Sylvine of VA,; three daughters, Gail Weston and her husband, Norm of Rumford, Linda Emmons and her husband, Will of Saco, Adrienne Platt and her husband, Mike of Missouri; four sisters, Natalie Reed of Mexico, Mary Smith of Lebanon, Darlene Jamison of Mexico and Edna Heath of Conway, NH; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and a grandson, Neil Weston.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, with Rev. Jane C. Rich officiating. Interment will be in the Abbotts Mills Cemetery, Rumford. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral.

Roland Patneaude

REGION -- Roland Patneaude, 79, passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2011 at the Hospice House, with loved ones by his side.

A brief service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at the Maine Veterans' Memorial cemetery Chapel, 163 Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta. In the event of an official government storm closing of state facilities, the service will be rescheduled.

On Saturday, Jan. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the family will welcome guests to join them in a celebration of Roland's life at the American Legion Post 100, corner of 23 Main St. and River Street in Dixfield.

Wallace A. Cutting, Jr.

SCARBOROUGH -– Wallace A. Cutting, Jr., 85, of Gray and formerly of Andover and Portsmouth, NH, died on August 16, 2011 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

He was born in Andover on June 1, 1926, the son of Wallace and Marian (Jones) Cutting Sr. He had attended schools in Andover and Portsmouth, NH.

Wallace served his country as a Sgt with the U.S. Army Air Force from 1946 to 1949.

He had a private pilot’s license and loved to fly small aircraft. He enjoyed working on mechanical equipment and fabricating special equipment.

He was married to his wife of 67 years, Eleanor C. Coffey Cutting, who survives of Gray.

Other survivors include sons, Russell Cutting and wife, Sandra of Shapleigh, Wayne Cutting and wife, Carla of York, and Larry and wife, Pam of Lyman; a sister, Phyllis Crosby and husband, Robert of New Mexico; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Andover, with Rev. Jane Rich officiating.

Alice A. Milligan

PORTLAND –- Alice A. Milligan, 81, died on May 21, 2012 in Portland. She was a resident of the Cedars in Portland.

Born in Mexico on July 10, 1930, she was a daughter of Aaron and Ellen (Fleming) Anderson. She was a graduate of Mexico High School Class of 1947 and worked as a bank teller for Casco Bank.

Alice was a devoted wife and mother who loved her children and grandchildren. She and her husband John loved to spend winters in Florida and summers in Weld where they would entertain the grandchildren. She loved children, sewing, animals and shopping.

She was married in Rumford on May 9, 1953 to her devoted husband John F. Milligan, who died in Portland on Nov. 3, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, John A. and his wife, Joy of Cape Elizabeth, and Aaron and his wife, Jill of Scarborough; a daughter, Maureen Willey and her husband, Bob of Sherborn, MA; a brother-in-law, Daniel Casey of Mexico; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Aordkian and her husband, Peter of Oxford, CT.

She was predeceased by her husband; Baby Boy Robert; Baby Girl Milligan; and a sister, Margaret Casey.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff and the Cedars and also the staff of Hospice of Southern Maine for their care and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius–St. John Church in Rumford. Interment will be in St John Cemetery, Rumford. Those who desire may contribute to the Arthritis Foundation, 6 Chenell Dr., Suite 260, Concord, NH 03301 in her memory in her memory.

Catherine “Gloria” Lavorgna

RUMFORD -- Catherine “Gloria” Lavorgna, 77, died on Jan. 19, 2012 at the Rumford Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a resident of Osgood Avenue in Mexico.

Born in Mexico on August 11, 1934, she was a daughter of Joseph (Farmer Jones) and Angie (Peters) Arsenault. She was a graduate of Mexico High School with the Class of 1952 and was a proud Pinto. She worked for many local shoe shops in the area.

Gloria was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius-St. John Church; she enjoyed her summers in Prince Edward Island, Canada and winters in Fort Myers, FL. She was an avid Bingo player; a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who always had plenty of M&M’s for all. She was a member of the Napoleon Ouellette Post #24 American Legion Auxiliary, LeParesseux Snowshoe Club, and Rumford Falls Aerie #1248 FOE.

She was married in Mexico on Sept. 3, 1956 to Anthony Lavorgna, who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include five sons, Edward of Mexico, Joseph and his wife, Pattie of Alaska, David and his companion, Audrey of Mexico, Danny of Mexico, Dale and his companion, Catherine of Mexico; a daughter, Paris White and her husband, Larry of Plymouth; a sister, Rita Woods of Rumford; 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Anthony and Eugene; and three sisters, Marie Preble, Eleanor Martin and Theresa Arsenault.

The family would like to thank the Rumford Hospital and staff for the care and comfort extended to Gloria and her family.

Peter J. “Pete” Buccina

MEXICO -- Peter J. “Pete” Buccina, 66, died on May 17, 2012 after a long illness at his residence on the River Road, Mexico.

He was born in Rumford on July 15, 1945, the son of Joseph and Rose (Curato) Buccina. He graduated from Mexico High School Class of 1963 and from Farmington State College Class of 1967 with his Bachelor of Science Degree for teaching.

He taught social studies at Poland Elementary School for many years. He also owned and operated Chico’s Restaurant and Virginia Gardens Restaurant in Rumford before starting Arrow Rentals in Mexico where he rented equipment.

Pete enjoyed many sports including racquet ball, tennis and running. He was an avid NFL fan and of the New York Yankees. He was a very thoughtful and caring person and treated people with respect.

The family wish to thank Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for their help and loving care and to his many close friends who helped him through his illness.

He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Parish, St. Athanasius-St. John Church.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Buccina of Wiscasset; a sister, Janet Clawson of Chagrin Falls, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Joseph Buccina, Jr.

Priscilla M. Chartier

RUMFORD -- Priscilla M. Chartier, 69, passed away on May 16, 2012 at Rumford Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born on May 14, 1943, the daughter of Phillip and Rita Letourneau. She attended Rumford schools and was employed by NewPage (Boise Cascade) for many years before retiring.

On May 26, 1962, she married her best friend, Rosaire Chartier and together they raised three children. Priscilla loved spending time with her family and going to "camp." She enjoyed going to Canada, Massachusetts and Connecticut where she would spend time with family and friends and always had to stop at Foxwoods before returning home!

She loved to laugh, joke and have a good time no matter where or what she was doing and made us all laugh, too. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and a very special grandmother.

Priscilla is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rosaire; two children, Daniel and wife, Pamela; Lisa Walsh and husband, Shawn; her beloved grandson, Cody Austin; mother, Rita Letourneau; sister, Ann Bellegarde and husband, Fern; brothers Paul Letourneau and Phillip and wife, Mary; many nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law, very special friends and three loving granddogs.

She was predeceased by a son, David Chartier; and her father, Phillip Letourneau.

The family wishes to thank everyone who touched her life.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. John's cemetery in Rumford. Donations may be made to the Rumford Hospital Oncology, 420 Franklin St., Rumford 04276.

Linwood L. Giberson, Jr.

RUMFORD -- Linwood L. Giberson, Jr., 59, of Lochness Road in Rumford passed away on May 18, 2012 at the Hospice House following a long illness.

He was born in Rumford on May 17, 1953, a son of Marlene M. (Gallant) and Linwood L. Giberson Sr. Linwood was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Rumford High School Class of 1972, and later attended Northeast Tech for one year.

He was employed with Yankee Construction Co., Daniel Construction Co. and Bass Shoe. Linwood drove cab for Courtesy Cab for several years and delivered the Sun Journal for many years. He loved panning for gold, gardening and four wheeling.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Thelma (Taylor) Giberson of Rumford; children, Linwood Lee Giberson III of Mexico, Tracy M. Parise and husband, Joseph of Rumford, and Zachery L. Giberson of Rumford; a sister, Sharon Capponi and husband, Peter of Rumford; three brothers, Neal Giberson and wife, Bethany of Rumford, Wayne Giberson of Bethel and David Giberson of Mexico; and three grandchildren, Dylan Graham, John Freeman and Jacob Parise.

He was predeceased by his parents and a son, Seth Giberson.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at SG Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parish of the Holy Savior. If so desired, contributions in Linwood’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Linwood Giberson, Jr.

RUMFORD -- A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Linwood Giberson, Jr. was celebrated on May 24, 2012 at Parish of the Holy Savior.

Fr. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant. Bernard Poirier was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist.

Music selections were Let There Be Peace On Earth, Hosea, Valley of Green and Fly Like A Bird. The Old Testament was proclaimed by J.J. Freeman. The New Testament was proclaimed by Sharon Capponi. Offertory gifts were presented by Bob and Carol Parise. Personal reflections were shared by Tracy Parise. Pallbearers were Linwood Giberson III, J.J. Freeman, Jacob Parise and Jacob Giberson.

Interment was in St. John Cemetery. A reception was held at the Snowshoe Club.

Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home, Rumford.

Mary Rawlins

RUMFORD -- Mary Rawlins, 97, died on April 6, 2012 at the Rumford Community Home. She resided in Wayne and Rumford.

Born in Rumford on March 16, 1915, she was a daughter of William and Anne (Litvaitis) Milishousky. She was a graduate of Mexico High school. She worked for the Oxford Paper Company in Rumford. She was a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius-St. John Church.

She was married in Rumford on Nov. 19, 1948 to Joseph Rawlins, Jr. who died in Waterville on August 13, 1990.

Survivors include a sister, Josie Yarnish of Mexico; several grandchildren; and a niece, Sally Yarnish of Mexico.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Ann Heiser.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Rumford Community Home for the care given to Mary while she was there.
