Snow, Wilson Stoddard age 82 , of Kennebunk, Maine formerly of Belmont, MA died at his home on August 11, 2005. WWII Air Force Veteran.

Beloved husband of 55 years Marilyn M. Snow, beloved father of Victoria Shabanian of Glendale, California, Meredith Snow of Pasadena, California, Penelope Snow of South Portland, ME and the late Scott Wilson Snow. Loving father in law to Veronica Snow of Miami, FLA, Steven Walker of South Portland, Me and Garnick Shabanian of Glendale. Adoring grandfather of Shaheh and Talene Shabanian and Skye and Brooke Snowwalker. Devoted brother of Adrianna Baltimore, Harrison Snow and the late Emmeline Gage. Loving brother in law, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend.

Funeral service to be held 3 PM on Sunday August 14, 2005 at the Christ Church 6 Dane Street Kennebunk, Maine. Private Burial Monday at the Evergreen cemetery in Kennebunk, ME.

Albert R. Hersom, Jr.

Albert R. Hersom, Jr. 58 yrs died Wednesday, March 1 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a brief illness. He was a resident of Bacon Street and formerly of Arundel.

He was born in Biddeford, Oct. 9, 1947 a son of Albert R. and Emma Herson Jr. He attended Arundel Schools. He served in the U.S. Army in the late 1960s. For the past several years he was a driver for Twin-City Taxi Company in Biddeford.

He is survived by three sons, Christopher Hersom of Poland, Timm Giggey of Westbrook, and Douglas Hersom of Lewiston; two daughters, Sue Giggey of California and Emma Hersom of Florida; a foster brother, Stephen Emerson of Arundel; two foster sisters, Beverly Emerson and Anita Michaud both of Arundel; and several grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. Kennebunk Monday, March 6, from 2-4PM.

Memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday March 11 at the Kennebunk Baptist Church with the Reverend James King officiating the service.

Interment in Emerson Private cemetery in Arundel later in the Spring.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 343 Gorham Road, South Portland, ME 04106.

Alice H. Key, 91, died on Sunday afternoon, March 5, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. She was born in Haverhill, MA on February 15, 1915, a daughter of George and Albertine (Dionne) LaPointe. She was educated in Haverhill schools and graduated from McIntosh Business College.

Alice was employed as a statistician and credit manager for the former Enterprise Stores, Haverhill, MA. She retired to Maine in 1979.

She was married to Frederick Key, who died in 1988.

She was a former chaplain of the Haverhill Grange, and a former Girl Scouts of America troop leader for 5 years. She was also a member of the former Dunaway Senior Citizens in Ogunquit, ME.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Donald LaPointe Sr., and a sister, Irene Borden.

Survivors include:
2 daughters: Mrs. Clifford (Lois) Scott of Biddeford
Mrs. Larry (Beverly) Bowen of Wells
5 grandchildren
9 great grandchildren

There are no visiting hours. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 10:30 a.m. in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells. Alice Whitaker

Alice McKone Whitaker, 91, a resident of Berwick for more than 60 years, died at her home on May 12th. She was born in Dover on July 10, 1913, the daughter of James and Margaret (Hayes) McKone.

She grew up in Dover and graduated from St. Mary’s High School where she was an honor student. In many ways she became a teacher; she taught all those who came into her life the meaning of love and family.

She worked for many years as a waitress in local restaurants, including Vic’s Diner in Somersworth, The Monach Diner in Dover, The Somersworth Hotel, and Rosa’s Restaurant in Portsmouth. She worked at the Berwick Elementary School Hot Lunch Program and for several years at Hebert’s Market in Somersworth as the Deli Manager.

She enjoyed family and friends, reading, and spending time at her camp at Stanley Pond in South Hiram, ME.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Berwick and a member of the Somersworth Grange No. 264.

For the past three years, she was receiving dialysis treatments in Somersworth and during this time she made many new friends, including the wonderful and caring staff at the Center.

She was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Raymond, a native of Berwick. Together they raised their four children, John R., currently residing in Chicago; Barbara M. (Mrs. Wilfred Martin) and Thomas R. of Berwick; and Joan M. Dearden of Hampton.

She was also predeceased by her brothers, John, Frank, and William McKone, all of Dover, James McKone of Windsor, Vermont, and her sisters Mary Lizotte of Somersworth and Margaret Willett of Exeter.

She is survived by her four children, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many very special nieces and nephews, one cousin, Loretta Labrie of Dover, and sisters in law and close friends, Marjorie Whitaker of Portsmouth and Lucille Whitaker of Rochester.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, May 15th at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel on 36 Rochester Street in Berwick. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 16th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace, 25 Saw Mill Hill Road in Berwick.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont, Inc.; 11 Vanderbilt Avenue, Suite 105; Norwood, MA 02062.

Doris Eloise Peterson, 82, of Middle Branch Drive, died early Monday morning at her daughter’s residence.

She was born in Woburn, MA on November 24, 1923, a daughter of Richard W. and Esther Hortense (Anderson) Hanson. She was educated in Woburn schools, and graduated from Woburn High School.

On September 4, 1941, she married Eugene Peterson.

Doris worked in the healthcare industry as a Medical Records Clerk. She started her career at the former Choat Hospital in Woburn, first as a volunteer, then as a Ward Clerk. After moving to Maine in 1953, she worked in Medical Records at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.

She was a member of the New Century Club, the Shakers, and was a Gold Star Mother. She was also a member of the Alfred Parish Church, and the Ladies Parish Guild.

Doris enjoyed quilting, cooking, knitting, her church, and spending time with friends and family.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Eugene; a son: LCPL Alfred Eugene Peterson, USMC; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include:
2 daughters: Meredith Gerry of Alfred
Christina Lawyer of Alfred
a sister: Elsa Lewis of Bedford, MA
7 grandchildren
8 great grandchildren
1 great great grandchild

There are no visiting hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Alfred Parish Church, United Church of Christ, 12 Kennebunk Road, Alfred, ME.

Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Alfred.

Donald E. Bleeke

Donald E. Bleeke, a resident of Westfield, NJ and Kennebunk, Maine passed away on July 30, 2005 in Biddeford, Maine at the age of 88.

He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on June 7, 1917 where he graduated from Southside H.S. He earned his BA degree at the University of Miami in Florida where he had received a full scholarship to play violin in the symphony orchestra. He then received his Masters Degree in Psychology from Boston University. In between those two degrees, he served in WWII in the Coast Guard.

He continued his violin playing by joining the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra in Plainfield, NJ. He played with them for over 30 years. He also sang Tenor in the Choral Art Society of NJ, in the Westfield Glee Club and in several church choirs.

As an educator, he taught at all the grade levels. He started the First Reading Center at the University of NJ at Kean College. He taught for many years as a Reading Specialist. He was a member of NJEA, NEA, Phi Mu Alpha: Sinfonia Music Fraternity, the Westfield Historical Society, the YMCA “Old Guard” of Westfield, a member of “The Merry Men” singing group, the Audubon Society, and the AARP. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford, NJ.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn M. Bleeke, his three sons: Jeffrey, Steven, and Mark, and his daughter Linda, as well as 8 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial service is planned in the fall at the First Presbyterian Church in Cranford, NJ.

Donald C. Wormwood

Donald Carleton Wormwood, 75, of Alfred Road, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Saco on Nov. 1, 1929, a son of Donald T. and Albina C. Hamel Wormwood.

Donald attended Saco schools and worked for more than 28 years at the Kennebunk Light and Power Company. Prior to that, he worked at several area businesses including, Seawood Construction, Shapiro Oil, Bates Mfg., and a local sheet metal firm.

Mr. Wormwood enjoyed doing outside work for people and did wood working and crafts. He also was a groundskeeper at St. Anne's Estate in Kennebunkport.

He liked outdoor sports, including softball and horse shoes, and also enjoyed playing the banjo, spoons and playing pool.

Donald served in the Maine National Guard.

He is predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Chagnon and Marjorie Plourde.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Paulhus Wormwood of Kennebunk; three daughters, Cheryl Brabble of Mount Holly, N.C., Celeste Lessard of Kennebunk, and Corine Baker of Limerick; a brother, Colin Wormwood of Saco; a sister, Diane Williams of Saco; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30, at the Kennebunk Baptist Church with Rev. James King officiating.
