Kennebunk- Lois Towner Carlson, 94 years, died March 16, 2006 at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Lois was born November 23, 1911 in Asbury Park, NJ the daughter of Kenneth and Cora Finch Towner.

Her son Roy T. Carlson; daughter Marianne Carlson; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren survive her.

The family will be holding private services at a later date.

Louisa F. Winston

Louisa F. Winston ,90, a resident of Fletcher Street Kennebunk passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 26, 2005.

She was born in Westbrook, Maine on December 8, 1914 a daughter of Odilon and Dora Fredette. She was an honor graduate of Westbrook High School and Westbrook College.

Early in her career she was a business college instructor in secretarial science. When her husband joined the military forces in WWII, she served in his absence as assistant postmaster at the Kennebunk Post Office.

She was active in many community services, and cited for her work in conjunction with leading drives for the American Red Cross and Cancer Society. She was a long time treasurer of the former Kennebunk VFW auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the York Country Zonta Club. She was active in the Kennebunk Band Boosters and PTA. She was also a communicant of St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk.

She served as office manager of the Kennebunk/Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce for many years.

In 1972 She founded Winston Realty, Inc with her husband Edward. She was active in the real estate business until retirement in 1995. She was a member of the York County Board of Realtors serving as secretary and Vice Chairman of the York County Multiple Listing Service.

She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years Edward C. Winston, who died in 1995.

She was survived by her daughter Ann Winston Gebbia and her husband Sal Gebbia of Kennebunk, a son Edward C. (Ted) Winston Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Mission Beach, Australia and four grandchildren Heather Winston Gebbia of Boston, MA and Edward, Edwina and Sat Winston all of Mission Beach, Australia.

Her family would like to express its sincere thanks to Arthur Scott MD of Kennebunk for his many hours of care provided to Louisa at her home. They would also like to thank close friend Gertrude Dunham of Kennebunk for her years of care and friendship.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, July 28, 2005 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer Street Kennebunk.

Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Friday, July 29th at St. Martha’s Church Portland Road in Kennebunk.

Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Kennebunk Land Trust, which helps to preserve the natural beauty of Kennebunk, at 113 Lafayette Center, Kennebunk, Maine 04043.

Marie H. Finn

Marie H. Finn 73 years, a resident of Cheshire Meadows formerly of Kennebunkport died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the Atria Health Care in Kennebunk, ME after a brief illness.

She was born in Cambridge, MA on July 11, 1932 a daughter of Thomas J and Bertha Lynch Leonard. She graduated from St. Rose High School in Chelsea, MA and she also graduated from Chelsea Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

Marie was employed by the Chelsea Memorial Hospital as Nurse for several years before moving to Goose Rock Beach of Kennebunkport where she worked with her daughter’s Real Estate Business for over twenty years. She was a member of Kennebunkport Public Health and St. Martha’s Church of Kennebunk.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph V. Finn Jr. and a daughter Janice (Finn) Kennedy.

She is survived by her son Joseph V. “Skip” Finn III of Kennebunk and a daughter Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Anuszewski of Kennebunkport, a brother Dr. Thomas G. Leonard of Grafton, MA and four grandchildren Christine and Susan Anuszewski, Courtney Kennedy and Ryan Finn.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 Friday March 10, 2006 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street in Kennebunk.

Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday at St. Martha’s Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk, ME. Interment will be in Hope cemetery in the spring.

Should friends desire memorial donations may made to the Kennebunkport Emergency Medical Services P.O. Box 460B, Kennebunkport, Me 04046 or to the Kennebunkport Public Health and Homecare, P.O. Box 739, Kennebunkport, ME 04046 in Mrs. Finn ‘s memory.

Mary A. Tyburski

Mary A. Tyburski, age 92 of Cheshire Meadows, died Friday, July 8, 2005 at St. Andre’s in Biddeford.

She was born in Fauldhouse, Scotland on January 31, 1913, a daughter of Owen and Agnes Ellis Mullen.

She attended schools in Scotland, and came to the United States in 1948. She then attended Essex Agricultural School and earned her Nursing Degree.

She worked as a nurse for over 40 years at the Brookhouse, a home for elderly women in Salem, MA. She retired from there in 1973.

Mary was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church in Kennebunk and was an avid crocheter and weather person, and also enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Her husband, John, Tyburski died in 1953. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Patrick Mullen and Anthony Mullen; and her sisters, Jean Farry and Agnes Mullen.

Surviving are her nieces, Carol Foyles of Chester Springs, PA and Agnes Hay of Scotland; her nephews, Paul Mullen of Melrose, MA, Tom Mullen and Owen Mullen, both of Scotland.

Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30a.m. Monday at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, where prayers will be said at 10:30a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00a.m. at St. Martha’s Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk.

Burial will follow at the Arundel cemetery in Kennbeunkport.

Mary P. Liversidge

Mary Parsons Liversidge died March 31 in Kennebunk from complications of pneumonia. She is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Thomas K. Liversidge, and six children, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was born May 5, 1920 in New York City, the daughter of Charles and Mary Parsons. Her mother died when she was only five years old. Following her mother’s demise her father moved to England where they had a home, residing there for a portion of each year, returning to the states most summers. During those years Mary made some thirty crossings of the Atlantic Ocean.

When war threatened most of Europe, Mary and her father moved back to the states where they resided alternately between California and Kennebunk, Maine. She was married in 1941 to Thomas Liversidge and took up residence in the Main Line area of Philadelphia. During those years she was very active in social programs. Primarily she volunteered in the children’s ward in the Jefferson Hospital, eventually becoming chairman of the volunteer group. She initiated and ran the annual fund raising affair held at the Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.

After they moved to Kennebunk in 1973 she served on the board of the Brick Store Museum and was active with the York County Cancer Society, eventually becoming chairman of the group and took charge of operating its annual fund raising affairs. She served on the vestry of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunkport, drove for F.I.S.H and was an active member of the Kennebunk River Club. She loved to entertain and did so graciously and with frequency. She enjoyed gardening, decoupage, needlepoint , tennis, and of the greatest importance, looking out for and helping other people. She was always at the ready to give of herself, to be there for others and was very much loved. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life.

She will be mourned by her wide circle of friends as well as her immediate family. They include her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Fluke and her husband, Gordon of Kennebunk and Philadelphia and five sons, Thomas K. Liversidge, Jr., and his wife, Sandra of Kennebunk and Newburyport, MA; Charles P. and Deborah Liversidge, Newfield, ME; Horace P. and Peggy Liversidge of Kennebunk; Joseph Liversidge of Fleetwood, PA, and Alexander and Jillian Liversidge of Kennebunk.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 11 a.m. in St. David’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunk.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 43, West Kennebunk, 04094.

Myron W. Staples

Myron Waldo Staples, 79 years, passed away July 11, 2005 at York Hospital after a long illness.

Myron was born June 24, 1926 in North Berwick, Maine, the son of Annie Staples Webber. After graduating high school, Myron joined the Navy defending our country during World War II. After the war Myron became a carpenter building homes where he earned the reputation as being an excellent craftsman.

As a Mason and a Shriner, Myron was a member of Saint Aspenquid Lodge, Ocean Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley 32nd Degree of Portland, and the Pioneer Club. Myron was also President of the York Fish and Game Club.

Myron never married, but always looked out for his only sister, Mary Wellwood. He also cared deeply for his favorite niece, Rebecca Webber of Washington, D.C. He was a very caring and devoted family man.

Myron enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed camping in Naples, Maine where he would disappear to for extended trips.

Surviving Myron are his brother Edward Webber; sister Mary Wellwood; niece Rebecca Webber; special friend Elizabeth Hilton; and several more nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, there will be no services held.

Patrick J. Grandinetta

Patrick J. Grandinetta, age 57 of Cat Mousam Road, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at RiverRidge Center for Rehabilitation.

He was born in Utica, NY on March 23, 1948, the son of Pasquale R. and Julia Ann Coppola Grandinetta.

He attended St. Mary of Mount Carmel School and graduated from Utica Free Academy. He also attended Mohawk Valley Community College.

Patrick served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He was an avid Yankees and Jets fan and also loved to cook.

Despite his disability, Patrick was able to conduct some research on Brain and Spinal Injuries.

“The family would like to thank the Staff of RiverRidge Rehabilitation Center and Beacon Hospice for the excellent care Patrick received”

He is predeceased by a sister, Mary Judith Boyd of FL who died in 2002.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Grandinetta of Dumfries, VA, and Michael Grandinetta and his wife, Mary Ann of Manassas, VA; his sister, Fiora Wilson of Frankfort, NY; his first wife, Cathy Grandinetta of New Hartford, NY, with whom he maintained a great friendship with, nieces and nephews; and his brother in law, Bill Boyd.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 10 to 11am Thursday March 16, 2006 at St. Martha’s Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am.

Burial will be at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial cemetery in Augusta. If desired, donations can be made in his memory to the River Ridge Center for Rehabilitation, 79 Cat Mousam Road, Kennebunk, Maine 04043.
