Roger Alan Bacon, 57 years, of Spruce Lane, Wells died suddenly on March 16, 2006.

Roger was born in Boston, Mass on June 6, 1948 a son of Malcom and Marjorie Adams Bacon. A graduate of Waldwick, NJ High School, he furthered his education at the IBM School in Patterson, NJ and the RCA Electronics School in New York City.

Roger was a resident of Wells, ME for the past 27 years. Roger worked as a machinist and welder for the past 33 years at Metso, Corp. in Biddeford, ME. Roger volunteered in the community as a member of the Wells Athletic Boosters for 5 years and served as president for one year.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and golfing.

Surviving Roger are his beloved wife of 36 years, Brenda (Foster) Bacon; two sons Adam Bacon of Wells and Eric Bacon of New Boston, NH; brothers David Bacon of Titusville, FL and Paul Bacon of Westford, MA; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-6 pm Saturday March 18 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday March 19 at 2 pm at Bibber Memorial Chapel in Wells with the Reverend Herb Henry.

Rosanna Olive Stevens

Rosanna Olive Stevens, 67, of Valley Road, died Tuesday night at Baystate Medical Center in Springfied, MA. She was born in Meriden, CT on January 28, 1939, the daughter of Kenneth and Olive (Odette) Pellow.

On July 23, 1982, she married Allan Stevens in Feeding Hills, MA.

She grew up in the Durham, CT area and attended local schools.

From 1987 through 1995, Rosanna was the owner of Rose’s Lunch Basket restaurant in Springfield, MA.

She enjoyed the ocean, the beach, and watching sunrises. But most importantly, she treasured spending time with her children.

Survivors include:

3 sons: Daniel Bailey of Indian Orchard, MA
David Bailey of Chicopee, MA
Glen Bailey of Belchertown, MA
3 daughters Debra Griffin of Sanford, ME

Brenda Mahar of Chicopee, MA
4 step daughters
11 grandchildren
2 great grandchildren
10 step grandchildren

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee Street, Chicopee, MA.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME, where a funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Spring burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells, ME.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to: Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation – Maine Affiliate, PO Box 1626, Bangor, ME 04402.

Ruth Geraldine Osborn, 91, of Ogunquit, Maine, formerly of Lake Worth, Florida, and Lexington, MA, died Sunday evening, May 8, 2005. She was born in Arlington, MA, on August 18, 1913, a daughter of George C. and Emma Christiansen Nash. She was educated in Massachusetts, graduating from Lexington High School, Class of 1931.

She was married for 50 years to the late Kenneth J. Osborn.

Ruth was a former golfer; bridge, poker, and Canasta player; and a crossword puzzle expert. She enjoyed crafts such as tole painting and stained glass. Ruth loved Ogunquit since she first visited at 12 years old; and for over 20 years, split her time between Maine and Florida – enjoying both places very much.

In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her sisters Klare O’Connell and Ethel Nash, and her brother G. William Nash.

Survivors include:
2 daughters: Pamela Joyce Osborn and her friend Harry DerHarootunian of Worcester, MA; Susan Osborn Coffey of Midlothian, VA; her grandson: Andrew Kenneth Coffey and his wife Stacey Almond Coffey of Charlotte, NC

There are no visiting hours. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells, ME at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank the following for providing excellent care for Ruth: Southern Maine Medical Center; Holbrook Health Center, Scarborough, ME; and the nursing staff at Huntington Commons, Kennebunk, ME, where she spent her last six months. Arrangements under the direction of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME 04090.

Sgt. Jack E. Haubois

Waterboro –Sgt. Jack Ellsworth Haubois, Jr, age 44 of Waterboro, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jack was born in Orlando, FL on October 4, 1960, the son of Jack E. and Barbara Neal Haubois, Sr.

He began his career in Wells as a Reserve Police Officer, and became a dispatcher in 1985. In 1988, Jack became a full-time Police Officer for the Town of Wells.
He was a Certified Firearms Instructor for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, which matched well with his love for hunting and the outdoors.

He also enjoyed camping, motorcycling, fishing and snowmobiling. Jack had become a Registered Maine Guide, and started his own business shortly before being diagnosed with cancer.

Sgt. Haubois was a founding member of the Wells Police Department’s Color Guard, and was a forward observer for the department’s Special Response Team.

His family and the Police Department were his life.

He married Kelley Andrews on May 21, 1994.

Surviving are his wife of Waterboro, two sons, Dustin, and his wife Andri, and Kyle Haubois, of Waterboro; his daughter, Cassandra Haubois of Waterboro; his father of Dayton, ME, his twin sisters, Carol Sanders and her husband, Gary, and Barbara Barrows, and her husband, Bob, all of Northfield, VT; a nephew Jason Sanders; and three nieces, Jennifer Sanders, Hilary Barrows and Kayla Barrows, all of Northfield, VT.

Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm Thursday, May 12, at the Messiah Christian Church, Rte #1 in Wells, where a funeral service will be held at 10am Friday.

Private Interment will be at the Murch cemetery in Casco.

Should friends desire, donations can be made in his memory to the Maine Cancer Foundation, PO Box 553, Portland, Maine 04112

Viola I. Drysdale, 93, formerly of York Street, died Friday morning at Southridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Biddeford after a long illness.

She was born in Ogunquit on October 23, 1911, a daughter of Arthur E. and Eva H. Page Welch.

She attended Kennebunk schools.

Viola was a bookstore proprietor for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to dance.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Drysdale, and two sons: Corey and David Thompson.

Survivors include: her daughter, Rosalie Stapleford of CT; 10 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

At the request of the family, services are private.

William F. Fick

William F. Fick, 91 years, resident of Ross Rd, Kennebunk passed into the arms of God at his home Friday March 17th following a brief illness.

Mr. Fick was born in Boston, MA son of Otto P.A. and Bertha Koch Fick.

He attended Boston English High School and graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He served in the US Army during World War 11 retiring as Captain.

Following the War he became employed with the New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. and served in management capacity for several years.

He was a member of the Kennebunk Police Department for over 14 years. He was a member of Arundel Lodge of Masons in Kennebunkport. He was an officer and a gentleman and loved by all.

He was predeceased by his wife Mabel (Jones) Fick who died in 1999.

Mr. Fick is survived by his son William O. of Wells and a daughter Susan K. Fick of Kennebunk.

At the request of Mr. Fick no services will be held. Interment in Arundel cemetery Kennebunkport.
