Raymond Worster

Rochester, NH

- Raymond C. Worster- a resident of Berwick died Friday December 30, 2005 in Rochester, NH after a courageous battle with cancer.

Raymond was born in Biddeford, ME on April 8, 1927 a son of Arthur and Ethel (Clifford) Worster. He attended Berwick Schools.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He was a Master oil burner technician for Rowell & Watson Oil Company of Somersworth, NH for ten years and also for Agway Oil Company of Somersworth, NH for 20 years.

For many years Raymond was a well-known area stock car driver, flagman, Tech man, and photographer for Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough.

Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family snowmobiling, watching NASCAR races and camping. He had a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his own plane.

He is pre-deceased by one son, Phillip K. Worster.

He is survived by five children, Wade C. Worster and wife Terri of Lebanon, ME, Dawn Milbury and husband Buster, Robin Fuller and husband Rich both of Berwick, Barbara Watson and husband Barry of Rochester, NH, Kathleen Nau and husband Mike of Lakeland, Fla., ten grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visiting Hours will be held from 2-4 and 5-7 PM on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006 at the Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel 36 Rochester Street, Berwick, ME where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Chapel.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick, Me.

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of New England

Robert B. LaRocque

Cape Porpoise

Robert B. LaRocque, born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, son of Burton LaRocque and Irene Gamache LaRocque died Sunday morning at the Veteran’s Home in Scarborough, Maine after a long illness.

Robert attended schools in Lee, Massachusetts and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. He was a member of Phi Kappa Theta.

He was employed by General Electric in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and Hudson Falls, New York as a test and design engineer. He later joined Peter J. Sweitzer Co. in Lee, Massachusetts and then Boise Cascade in Rumford, Maine. He retired after 25 years as Electrical Superintendent.

Having summered at Goose Rocks Beach for a number of years, he and his wife moved to Kennebunk in 1986 and more recently to Cape Porpoise, Maine.

Robert served in the South Pacific in the Marine Corps during World War II. He received the Purple Heart as a result of combat injuries in the invasion of Iwo Jima.

He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and a charter member of St. Martha’s Knights of Columbus in Kennebunk, Maine. He was a communicant of St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Kennebunk, Maine.

He was also President and a charter member of the Kiwanis’s Club in Lee, Massachusetts. He enjoyed reading, walking, and golf, and was a member of the Biddeford Saco Country Club.

He leaves his wife, Jean O’Malley LaRocque, a son Robert of Westminster, Colorado, and a daughter, Deidre Spang of Cape Porpoise, Maine, and five grandchildren. Two brothers, Raymond and Francis of Lee, Massachusetts predeceased him.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Route 1, Kennebunk. Spring burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk.

Robert F. MacCachran

Robert F. MacCachran, 84, of Kennebunkport, formerly of Chatham, NJ and Sudbury, MA passed away on December 14, 2005 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME.

He was born in Bloomsburg, PA to Russell A. and Margaret (Jenkins) MacCachran. He grew up in Camp Hill, PA. He was a graduate of Washington and Lee University, Lexington, VA, and earned his Master’s Degree in International Business with emphasis on Latin America from Thunderbird School of International Management, Glendale, AZ.

During World War II, Mr. MacCachran was a Staff Sergeant in Intelligence, assigned to 11th Air Force Headquarters, Adak, Aleutian Islands.

He started his career with Hamilton Watch Company, Lancaster, PA. He then joined the international department of Owens-Corning Fiberglas in New York City as a sales executive for Europe and South Africa. Later, while in the international company of Dennison Manufacturing Company, now Avery Dennison, Framingham, MA, he had worldwide responsibilities for sales and marketing for specific products. His specialty was Latin American markets, and at Dennison, he was vice-president of Dennison Panamericana.

In his retirement, he joined SCORE Boston as a consultant for international interests, and AARP, Boston chapter.

He was a former member of Sudbury United Methodist Church, Sudbury, MA where his interest was in Outreach.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Hamilton) MacCachran; a daughter, Caroline Louise Lepordo, Sudbury MA; two sons, Bradford J. MacCachran, Portland, ME; and Andrew H. MacCachran, Falls Church, VA; and a brother, Russell A. MacCachran, Jr., Boulder, CO. Grandpa Big Bob has five grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel, and Hannah Lepordo, Sudbury, MA, and Cyrus and Tobias MacCachran, Portland, ME.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 PM only on Saturday, December 17, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 18, at 1:30 PM at South Congregational Church, 14 Temple Street, Kennebunkport, with Reverend Charles Whiston officiating.

Private burial will be in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.

Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made in his name to the South Congregational Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 414, Kennebunkport, ME 04046.

Rosalie Littlefield Dresser

Rosalie Holden Littlefield Dresser, poet, community leader and long time resident of Kennebunk died on April 3, 2006 at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth, ME.

She was a direct descendant of pioneer, Edmund Littlefield. He received a grant of land on Nov. 20, 1645 and became the leader of the early Settlement of Wells.

Rosalie Holden Littlefield was born on Jan. 17, 1912 to Juliette and Burleigh Littlefield in Wells, Maine. She attended schools in Wells and Boston, Mass. She studied at Emerson College and took art classes at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

She married John Franklin Dresser, founder and partner of the Dresser Marsh Corp. on March 5, 1933. They lived in Kennebunk and raised their daughters there.

She reflected the values of "old Kennebunk". Involved with many community activities, her wit and insight was asked by community leaders to help solve problems and guide many organizations.

She was an active member of the First Parish Unitarian Church of Kennebunk, a member of the Fire Society and the Brick Store Museum. She was president of Kennebunk Free Library Association,Webhannet Club and the Women's Alliance, chair of the Health Council Institute, the Band Boosters, and a member of Friends of Intelligent Land Use Mousam River Protection Association, and was a former Girl Scout leader. She was known for her ability to entertain others with a talent for storytelling. She was a published poet and was asked to read for various occasions. Known as an accomplished floral designer, she enjoyed entertaining and was a gracious hostess. She was an avid traveler and encouraged it in others. A favorite saying of hers was, “It’s important to see a different tree every once in awhile to keep your perspective fresh.”

She and her sister, Phyllis Strickland, were the first people to donate significant wetland acreage to help establish the Rachel Carson Preserve in Wells.

She leaves behind her daughters Lucinda Dresser Larrabee of Hollis, Sherry Holden Dresser Dec of Waldoboro, Judith French Dresser Campbell and her husband Kenneth of Cape Elizabeth and seven grandchildren, Jessaym Larrabee, Hannah Larrabee, Eben Larrabee, Jason Holden Dec, Jonathan Campbell, Jeffrey Campbell and Julie Campbell Stoddard. Great grandchildren Evan and Erin Campbell and Keenan and Michaela Stoddard.

There are no visiting hours.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to: The American Cancer Society; One Main Street, Suite 300; Topsham, ME 04086.

At the family's request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral services.

Theodore B Campbell

Theodore B. Campbell 86 years a resident of Whitten Hill Road Kennebunkport died Monday April 24, 2006 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

Theodore was born in Kennebunkport, ME on February 25, 1920 a son of Ralph and Virginia Carpenter Campbell and attended local schools.

He was a truck driver for Town of Kennebunkport Highway Department for many years.

He enjoyed worked on small engines repair during his retirement.

He was predeceased by his wife Catherine Quinn Campbell who died in 1989.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held 10 AM Thursday , April 27th 2006 at the Arundel cemetery in Kennebunkport, Me.

Virginia Littlefield

Sanford- Virginia “Ding” Brown Littlefield passed April 14, 2006 at the Newton Center in Sanford.

Mrs. Littlefield was born in Waterville, ME June 23, 1920 a daughter of E. Stanley and Katherine (Adams) Brown. In 1921 they moved to Kennebunkport where she graduated from the High School in 1938. She graduated from Westbrook Jr. College (NEU), 1940, then attended Bates College. She married Maurice B. Littlefield April 15, 1943.

Virginia was active in Girl Scouts, one of the last girls awarded the Eagle Scout Award and she participated for many years in all phases of scouting. She was a member of Deering Chapter #39 OES and a 50 plus member; also holding chairs in other chapters. She was treasurer of both the M.F.Bragdon Paint CO. (Bragdon’s) and Brafield Realty Co. in the “Old Port” area on Exchange Street. She worked for some time as bookkeeper for the Minot Corp. which she found satisfying. She was active in PTA, Deering Band Mothers (sending the Band to Kennedy’s inauguration), Dorothy Mason’s Dance School’s Recitals, and Preble Lodge Bean Suppers. She was a super knitter, even to the level of making argyle socks and sweaters.

Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Maurice B. Littlefield of Sanford; three sons, John E. Littlefield of Delcano, NJ, Howard M. Littlefield of Cape Elizabeth, and Donald C. Littlefield of Scarborough; daughter, Jane L. Frankland of Lyman; two sisters, Priscilla Martin and Jane Houston, both of Kennebunkport; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday April 17 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday April 18 at Bibber Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, ME.

Eleanore Jemison

Eleanore Jemison (Roberts), 84, of Kennebunk, ME, died April 13, 2006, at the home of her daughter & son-in-law, Mary & Sherman Spurr of Cape Porpoise, ME.

Eleanore was born in Salem, MA on September 11, 1921. She was the daughter of Menza & Harriett (Sheehan) Roberts.

She was a devoted Mother and Wife who helped build the medical practice of former husband Howard A. Jemison, Jr., MD.

She was an invaluable asset for many years as office manager for her daughter and son-in-laws' business in MA. She was an avid reader & crossword enthusiast and loved antiques. She also, for many years, worked for various antique dealers in Essex, MA and for a period of time had her own shop called the Jemison Forge. She loved the ocean and taught her children and grandchildren how to find those special beach treasures.

She is survived by her son, Howard A. Jemison III, & wife Susie of AZ; son/nephew, John T. Roberts & wife Jerry of MA; grandchildren: Kaci Jackson & husband Carlos of CT; Conan Jemison (deceased); Erica Baltazar & husband Joseph of CA; Eli Jemison of OR; Elizabeth Jemison-Ahamed & husband Basheer of FL; Branden Jemison of AZ; Angela Butler & husband Shane of AZ; Shawna McInelly & husband Kaylon of AZ; Curtis Mitchell of AZ; Stephen Mitchell of AZ; Derek Spurr & wife Laura of MA; and Heather Spurr Kirwin and husband Tom of MA.

She was a great grandmother of 5 and because she predeceased her 4 siblings, she became the Matriarch of her family and was adored by her nieces & nephews and many great-nieces & nephews.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

A private Memorial will be held at a later date.
