John 'Jack' Spear
September 26, 2006
Kennebunk, ME

John (Jack) Tolman Spear 92 years, former resident of Wells Beach, ME and Manchester, NH passed away peacefully Tuesday Sept 26th, 2006 at the Huntington Common, Kennebunk, ME where he had resided for the past 5 years.

He was born in Winnetka, IL but spent most of his life in Manchester, NH. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and UNH where Donald Bergquist, a fellow ATO introduced him to his future wife Mildred with whom he spent 53 wonderful years. She died in 1993.

He worked for Quaker Oats and Swift and Co. but his main career was an insurance salesman for Connecticut General.

He taught Sunday school for many years at Franklin Street Church (now Brookside Congregational Church) in Manchester, NH.

Since his wife was Swedish, he joined the Scandia Club (a Swedish Men’s Group).

His love for travel can be traced back to his cross-country trip with some of his buddies after graduating from college.

Stamp collecting, stock trading, cribbage, reading and trains were just some of his varied interests.

He is survived by his two beloved daughters Linda Elwell and her husband Fred of Sanford, FL and Carol Boston and her husband David of Kennebunk, ME, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 Pm October 21st, 2006 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 111 Chapel Road Wells, ME.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Water for People 6666 West Quincy Ave, Denver CO 80235 or to the Beacon Hospice, 600 Round Wood Drive, Scarborough, ME 04074 in Mr. Spear’s memory.

John A. Ingwersen, Jr.

John A. Ingwersen, Jr. 82, of Kennebunk died on Friday, September 1, 2006 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born in Middletown, OH on December 4, 1923, a son of John and Mariann Bradt Ingwersen.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rae Ingwersen of Kennebunk; three sons, Henry, Robert, and John "BJ"; three daughters, Marianne, Katherine, and Jenny; a brother, Samuel; four sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Joan, and Deborah; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchilcren.

Arrangements are private.

John J. Berry, Jr.

Somersworth, NH

John J. Berry Jr., 56, a life long resident of Somersworth, died Tuesday at Rochester Manor after battling lung cancer.

"Joe", or "Roe" as he was also known, was a graduate of Holy Trinity Grammar School, Somersworth High School and the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College.

He was a veteran and served in the Navy from 1968 to 1972

"Joe" was a craftsman, a gardener and a handyman. He loved to work with his hands and, when his health allowed, he could always be found helping friends or family with painting, wallpapering or building projects. He took great pride in his flowers and vegetable garden that adorned the hill near his Somersworth apartment.

Joe was predeceased by parents John Berry Sr. and Philomena (Pat)(Mucciolo) Berry.

He is survived by his brother William Berry of Jacksonville, Florida,
four sisters, Patricia Berry of Salem, Massachusetts, Susan Casey and her husband Terry of Denver, Colorado, Mary McVey and her husband Rick of Bessemer, Michigan and Joanne Hall of Somersworth. Nieces and nephews, Billie Jo Burr, Tod Berry, Jen and Conor Casey, Nate and Meg McVey, Eric and Adam Hall, Coleman and Mikayla Parsons and his many friends.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 pm only on Thursday, November 30, at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Road, Berwick, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, at 11:00 AM.

Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, High Street, Somersworth, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to: The American Cancer Society of New England, 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086-1246; or The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203-1977.

John J. Fournier

John J. Fournier, 62, formerly of Amesbury, MA and Berwick, ME, died Wednesday morning, December 27, 2006 at St. Andre’s Healthcare Facility in Biddeford following a lengthy illness. He was born in Amesbury on February 14, 1944, the son of Alfred J. and Madeline (Prieur) Fournier. He grew up in Amesbury, and was educated at Sacred Heart Elementary School. He attended Amesbury High School.

John held a variety of jobs over the years; mostly as a general laborer.

In earlier years, John was fascinated by airplanes and became a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was also active in the Boy Scout program.

He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Berwick.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by 2 brothers: Albert and Guy Fournier.

Survivors include:
2 sisters: Theresa Buckley and her husband Andrew Thomas
of South Berwick
Jacqueline Prizer and her husband William of
Londonderry, NH
several nieces and nephews

There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan 2, 2007 at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Parish, 29 Young Street, South Berwick. Following cremation, burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to: St. Andre’s Healthcare Facility, 407 Pool Road, Biddeford, ME 04005.

John Joseph "Jack" Nehiley, Jr.

John Joseph “Jack” Nehiley, Jr., 66, of Brookwood Drive, died Tuesday afternoon at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Boston, MA on March 30, 1940, the son of John Joseph Sr. and Viola (Arnott) Nehiley. He was educated in Braintree schools, and attended Bentley College.

Jack held a variety of jobs during his lifetime. He started out at an early age working at the Quincy Naval Shipyard. He then worked as Chief Controller of Instron in Canton, MA. He was then President of Boston Children’s Hospital Credit Union. Following this position, he was President of the Naponset Credit Union. For the past 22 years, he was a Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Boston office of Management Recruiters International of Boston. During this period, he married Cheryl Helen Lavoie. They had lived in Brockton for 20 years, and relocated to Maine in 2002.

Jack enjoyed golf, tennis, and walking on the beach. He absolutely loved Maine.

Survivors include:
his loving wife of 22 years, of South Berwick, ME

of Chestnut Hill, MA
one son: Daniel Maccarone of New York City, NY
two sisters: Patricia Nehiley of Bellingham, MA

Calling hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eldridge Road, Wells. John Joseph 'Jack' Mullaney

John Joseph “Jack” Mullaney, 87, of Farragut Way, died Saturday morning at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 5, 1918, the son of William and Catherine (Travers) Mullaney, and was educated in the Brooklyn school system.

Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a surgical tool salesman for the Bristol Meyers-Squibb Company of New York for over 33 years.

Jack and his wife of 53 years were former residents of North Carolina and New Hampshire, and moved to Kennebunk in 2001.

He was an avid reader, and also enjoyed singing with his beautiful Irish voice, and spending time with his family.

Jack was pre-deceased by his brother, William Mullaney.

Survivors include:
his loving wife Jane of Kennebunk
2 sons: John J. Mullaney Jr. of Oberlin, OH
Jeff W. Mullaney of Washington, DC
his daughter: Jane Glennan and her husband Richard of Wells

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, November 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 8, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Route 1, Kennebunk. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his name to: Kennebunk Fire and Rescue, 1 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME 04043. Arrangements under the direction of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk.

John Joseph Linehan

Wells

John J. Linehan, 82, of Drakes Island Wells, and Largo, FL., died Thursday morning at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford following a brief illness. He was born in Somerville, MA on June 27, 1924, the son of Daniel and Margaret (Mulvey) Linehan. He was educated in the Brookline school system. He left high school to proudly serve his country in the Army during World War II.

John was a career firefighter for the Brookline, MA Fire Department from 1949 to 1978, retiring as a Lieutenant.

He was recently awarded his High School Diploma from Brookline High School along with several veterans who followed in his footsteps during World War II.

John loved music, especially Dixieland Jazz, to which he listened in many of his favorite Florida clubs. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John was a proud member of the American Legion Post 47 in Rollingsford, NH; the Lodge of Elks, Wells, ME; and the VFW in South Portland.

He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Evelyn in 2003.

Surviving are his daughters, Beverly LeConte and her husband Michael of Westbrook. Jeanne Cote and her husband Roger of South Berwick; a sister, Eileen Morrissey and her husband John of Brookline MA; six grandchildren and his very special nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 19 from 4 to 7 p.m at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 236 Eldridge Road, Wells, ME. with Father Tom Murphy presiding. Burial with military honors will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank the very caring staff at Southern Maine Medical Center especially the Special Care Unit.

John Paul Connolly

John Paul Connolly of Bristol CT and Kennebunkport Maine died peacefully in Maine on Sunday, July 9, 2006 surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Born in Hartford on November 25, 1921, he was the son of Ellen (Foley) and Cornelius Connolly. John was a gentle, caring, and witty man.

Celebrating his life are his children Dawn and David Markowitz of Kennebunkport Maine; Maryellen and Richard McAlees of Simsbury CT; Kevin Connolly of Bristol CT; Marc and Jayme Connolly of W. Kennebunk ME; grandsons Seth, Clayton, Casey, Tom, Miles, John and Michael; granddaughters Morgan and Libby; and great grandchildren Ally, Desiree and Montez; brothers Ben, Bill and Paul Connolly, and sister Mary Hall. John was predeceased by his wife of sixty years Madonna in December 2005 and his daughter Cynthia in 2001.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Gregory Church on Maltby Street in Bristol on Thursday, July 13 at 11:00 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 901 Washington Ave., Suite 104, Portland Maine 04103.
