Nicholas ‘Nichos’ J. Minadakis 82 years a resident of North Street, Saco formerly of Wells and Cambridge, MA died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a brief illness.

He was born in Chios, Greece on January 22, 1924 a son of Mr. John and Hariklea Minadakis.

He graduated from Boston University in 1962 and from Simmons College in 1964.
He was a Librarian for Chelsea Public Library for over 24 yrs.

Nichos was a member of the Wells Rotary Club and also member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Saco.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years Irene (Xydelis) Minadakis of Saco, 2 sons Yannis Minadakis of Seattle, WA and Demetrios Minadakis of Springfield, MA.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 186 Bradley Street, Saco with Father Basil officiating. Interment will be in St Demetrios Cemetery, Biddeford.

Should friends desire memorial donation may be made to the St. Demetrios Church 186 Bradley Street, Saco, Maine 04072 in Nicholas‘s memory.

Norma Marie Courtemanche, 76, of Wells died on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at her home.

Pamela S. Vittorioso, 49 years, of Sanford Road, died unexpectedly November 7, 2006 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Pamela was born October 27, 1957 in Melrose, Massachusetts, the daughter of Jack and Catherine Ladner Baron, Sr. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine. She married Mark Philbrick on December 15, 1990.

Pamela devoted her life to building a loving home and raising her five children. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed the holidays with them all together. She was proud to be a breast cancer survivor.

She is survived by her loving husband Mark Philbrick; sons Ian Vittorioso and Nathaniel Philbrick; daughters Gillian Philbrick, Molly Philbrick, and Anne Philbrick; and her brother Jack Baron, Jr.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Friday, November 10 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 3 PM at the Chapel with Reverend Herb Henry officiating.

Patricia A. Kotlewski

Patricia L. Kotlewski, 75, a longtime resident of Kennebunk passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Southern Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Portland, Maine, the only daughter of Ruth A. Bowdoin and Vernon E. Littlefield, she is predeceased by her loving husband, John P. Kotlewski, and her daughter, Barbara Kotlewski Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ayotte and her husband Marc of Auburn, her daughter Ruth Ann Abrahamson and her husband Bruce of Rexford, New York, a son-in-law Robert Jackson of Atlanta, GA, and a beloved grandson, Samuel Danforth Moore of Gorham, Maine.

Patricia attended Kennebunk schools. She graduated from West Hartford High School, in West Hartford, CT and went on to Skidmore College where she met her husband, John. Together they resided in Burlington, VT, where their three daughters were born. Moving back to Kennebunk, Pat joined The Littlefield Agency, her father’s real estate and insurance business.

Her life was characterized by public service and a professional career that spanned over 35 years as a realtor. She was elected the first woman president of the York County Board of Realtors in 1975 and honored as Realtor of the Year in 1976.

After retirement, she loved playing more bridge and traveling to southern climes. Her final project was moving to her new home which she called the cottage. She infused it with colors as vivid and varied as everything that gave pleasure and meaning to her throughout her life.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 29th, 11 o’clock AM at Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk. Internment to follow at Hope Cemetery.

Rev. Robert C. Hewitt

Rev. Robert C. Hewitt, formerly of Kennebunk, passed away in the early hours of December 27, 2006 at Cove’s Edge, Damariscotta, ME. Bob was born February 4, 1920 in Peacedale, RI to Dr. Clarence and Flora Eaton Hewitt. While Bob was young, the family moved to Aurora, IL where Bob attended local schools. Bob is a graduate of Aurora University (formerly Aurora College) and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. While attending seminary, Bob met the love of his life, Ellen. They were married of May 19, 1945.

An ordained minister, Bob pastored in churches in Lafayette, RI and Waterbury, CT before moving to Kennebunk, ME where he was Pastor of the Kennebunk Advent Christian Church for more than 30 years before retiring to the role of Pastor Emeritus.
Bob was active in the Advent Christian General Conference, serving as past president of the American Advent Mission Society. He served as president of Plainville Campground in Plainville, CT, and on the board of directors of the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center. For many years, Bob served as Treasurer of the Eastern Region of the Advent Christian conference. He is a past vice president of the Maine State Advent Christian Conference, a past member of the Kennebunk Clergy Association and a former president of the Bible Society of Maine. When the Kennebunk Church moved to its present location on Sea Road, Bob worked tirelessly with other members of the church to make this vision a reality. Bob also assisted in the creation of Kennebunk Christian Academy and served on its board for many years.

Bob greatly enjoyed his calling to be a minister and faithfully served his congregations in many capacities. Bob’s greatest gift was his ability to minister to the sick and needy and he and Ellen spent many countless hours traveling to people’s homes and to hospitals to give comfort and pray with those in need.

Some of Bob’s happiest times were spent with his family at their summer cottage in Alton Bay, NH. Bob loved zooming along Lake Winnipesauke in his boat, “Miraculous”.

Bob and Ellen moved to Chase Point, Damariscotta, ME in December 2005. Here Bob was an avid participant in many activities, including bell ringing. He also attended the Damariscotta Baptist Church.

Bob is predeceased by his parents and brother, Dr. Clyde E. Hewitt.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ellen Flude Hewitt of Damariscotta, formerly of Kennebunk, his son Mark Hewitt and wife, Miriam Hewitt of Coconut Creek, FL, his daughter Robin Hewitt Bibber and husband Douglas Bibber of Damariscotta, and two grandchildren, whom Bob adored, Grace and Luke Bibber of Damariscotta.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, Summer St. Kennebunk, ME. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 1:30 p.m., at the Sea Road Advent Christian Church, Sea Road, Kennebunk, ME.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center, PO Box 321, Alton Bay, NH 03810 or to the Damariscotta Baptist Church Steeple Fund, Landmark Steeple and Clock Restoration Fund, C/O The First, N.A., PO Box 940, Damariscotta, Maine 04543.

Richard A Milliron

Richard Allen Milliron 73 years a resident of Hidden Lane Kennebunk died Wednesday November 15, 2006 following a two year battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

He was born in Coryville, PA on November 9, 1933, the son of Richard Royal and Bertha Leona (Cochran) Milliron.

At age fifteen, he drove a Euclid during the construction of the Kinzua Dam in Kinzua, PA. He graduated from Otto Eldred High School, in Eldred, PA and attended the University of Miami, Miami, FlA, where he was a member of the Marksman rifle team.

He married Lois Marie Burrows on September 6, 1952.

From 1953 to 1958, he drove tractor-trailer hauling coal for Farmer’s Valley Coal Company. In 1958 he went to work for Corning Glass Works in Bradford, PA as an hourly employee and progressed to manager of the Fused Silica Department. In 1969 he moved his family to Canton, NY to manage the Fused Silica Department in the Corning Plant there. In 1972 Corning moved him to Maine into the Human Resource Manager and Purchasing Department at Corning in Biddeford, Maine.

He belong to a Masonic temple in PA and member of the Kora Shriners of Lewiston, the York County Shrine Club where he is on the Board of Directors and was very active in shrine organizations and also had a great time driving the small yellow jeep for the Kora Shrine Renegades in many parades for several years.

He was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 54 yrs. Lois B. Milliron of Kennebunk, four daughters Sharon and her husband Gilbert York of Eldred, PA and their three sons Shannon, Brian and Kerry; Susan Milliron of South Berwick, Terri and her husband Casey Campbell of Kennebunkport and their four children; Skye, Carter, Danielle and Alexis ; Christy Milliron of Kennebunk and one son Denny and his wife Patty of South Hadley, MA and their two children Jessica and Zachary and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Milliron and his wife Nancy and Max Milliron and his wife Linda, three sisters, Carolyn Russell and her husband Don, Kay Amster, and Karen Jeannerette and her husband Jack, all of Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 PM Saturday November 18, 2006 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer Street Kennebunk, Maine 04043 where a memorial services will be held at 4 PM and Masonic services will be following.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The ALS Association 10 Ferry Street Suite 438 Box 314 Concord, NH 03301 or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104 in Mr. Milliron’s memory.

Richard A. York, 78, of Wells, ME and New London, NH, died on Friday, July 14, 2006 at his Wells residence.

Richard C. Falls

Richard C. Falls, a long-time resident and seascape painter, died Sunday at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford. He was 81.

Born in Schenectady, N.Y., Mr. Falls was a displayman in Massachusetts for many years and later worked for the Maine Turnpike.

He was an active member in many caregiving ministries at The Church on the Cape, Cape Porpoise. He loved art, jazz, and travel. He graduated from Paul Smith’s College in upstate New York and also studied at the School of Practical Arts in Boston. He served with the U.S. Army in Central Europe during World War II.

Mr. Falls leaves his wife of 57 years, Louise; two daughters, Robin Carrol of Wrentham, MA, and Jill Voelker of Abbington, MA; a son, Douglas Falls of Fall River, MA; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 13, at The Church on the Cape, at 11:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours.

Richard C. Young, Jr.

Richard C. Young, Jr., 39, of Bald Hill Road, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at his residence.

He was born in Kittery, on June 11, 1967, the son of Richard C. Sr., and Diana (Elkins) Young. He was educated in the Wells School system, and attended Wells High School, where he was a fixture on the Wrestling team for years.

Richard worked as an excavator for construction companies.

He was a fan of NASCAR, and enjoyed Thursday Night Thunder at Beach Ridge in Scarborough.

Survivors include his parents of Wells; a sister, Bonnie Bailargeon of Buxton; his paternal grandparents, Carlton and Eleanor Young of Ogunquit; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth Woodward of Moody.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at 10 a.m., at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, with Pastor Dan Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.
