Jeffery William Dickerson
May 22, 2010
Wells

Jeffery William Dickerson, 46, of North Berwick Road, died tragically on Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was born at Webber Hospital in Biddeford on November 27, 1963, the son of William and Janice Dickerson. He grew up and spent most of his life in Wells, graduating from Wells High School in 1982. After graduation Jeff enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following boot camp, Jeff proposed to the love of his life, his high school sweetheart Gail Desjardins. They were married on December 18, 1983, and lived in Tennessee and North Carolina where he was stationed in the Marine Corps. Jeff loved his country and was proud to be a Marine. After his service was completed, Jeff and Gail returned to Wells where he built his family's home.

Jeff began to work for the United Parcel Service, where he spent over 23 years as a dedicated employee.

Jeff was a family man, first and foremost. Family was his main priority, and he loved to spend every possible moment with them. He was big on traditions carried over from his childhood. Cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning were a must. He never bought a Christmas tree, but always cut one fresh. And, more often than not, the tree was a "Charlie Brown" special that required lots of love and support. Jeff loved the outdoors, anything outdoors, especially with his family. Hunting, boating, camping, and games (with valuable prizes!) were some favorites.

Jeff was very proud to be an Eagle Scout, an honor that he shared with his son Chad who followed in his footsteps. He was also a member of Ocean Lodge #142, AF & AM.

Everyone that Jeff met became his friend instantly; it would not take long to figure out that Jeff was special. He was an unbelievable husband, father, relative, and friend. Jeff would do anything for anybody; we all want to be like him.

Jeff is survived by his wife Gail, daughter Deidre of Auburn, son Chad of Wells, mother and father Janice and William Dickerson of Wells, sisters Gail of Wells and Julie of Kennebunk, along with in laws, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and friends. Jeff will be greatly missed.

Memorial visitation will be on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, during which a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at The Congregational Church of Wells, 1695 Post Road, Route 1, Wells. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Jeff, please do something nice for someone else, call a friend or relative that you have not spoken to in a while, and hug everyone you love like there will not be a tomorrow. Donations are being accepted at JoAnn's Gardens in Wells, Maine for a memorial tree in Jeff's honor.
