Master Sergeant Scott Neil Wilson

AUBURN - Master Sergeant Scott Neil Wilson, born January 28, 1963, lost his courageous battle with cancer on May 24, 2007. Susan Collins' office, the Air Force, Navy and Marines.
He is the son of Harry and Beverly Wilson of Mechanic Falls. He attended schools in Mechanic Falls and Auburn, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1981. He attained his Associates degree from Hawaiian Pacific University. He served 25 years active duty in the Air Force beginning in April of 1982 until the time of his death. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, playing sports, going to the gym and listening to the Beatles. He also enjoyed watching old movies (especially John Wayne), playing chess, risk and cribbage.
MSgt Wilson is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kanchana Wilson; his daughter, Rhiannon, 12; his parents, Harry and Beverly Wilson; a brother and his wife Karen of Auburn; a sister, Tracey Maberry and her husband Michael of Mechanic Falls; nephews Ryan Wilson II of Auburn, Michael R. and Matthew Maberry both of Mechanic Falls; niece Brooke Wilson of Auburn and her daughter Chloe, born May 23, 2007. Mr. Raymond Henry Woodworth, Jr.

OTISFIELD - Raymond Henry Woodworth, Jr. passed away on September 7, 2007 at Maine Medical Center in Portland due to complications from surgery. He was 78.
He was born in South Paris on July 14, 1929, the son of R. Henry and Mary Louise Woodworth of the Hebron Road in South Paris. The third child of what would become a family of seven siblings, he attended school in South Paris and graduated from Paris High School in 1949.
He married Madeline Jennie Kinney on February 1, 1951, at her family home in Clinton. After the wedding, he went on active duty with the Air Force and spent a year in Korea during the Korean War, serving with a fighter-bomber squadron.
When his active duty with the Air Force ended in 1955 he settled with his wife in Tucson, AZ and continued his education. They both earned Master's degrees in education and taught in Nogales, AZ, until returning to Maine in 1971 with their three sons, Henry, Bryan and Allen.
The family settled in Otisfield, and Mr. Woodworth taught at Lake Region High School until deciding that teaching in Maine was not for him. He managed a Shell service station through most of the 1970s, was caretaker of Camp Powhatan on Pleasant Lake in Otisfield, and then finished his working years with Dielectric Communications in Raymond. He also continued his service in the military as a member of the Maine Army National Guard. He retired in 1989 after 35 years of total service to the military.
Mr. Woodworth was active in many local and national organizations, including the Casco Village Church, the Republican Party, the National Rifle Association, the Otisfield Volunteer Fire Department, the Otisfield Board of Appeals, and the Knights of Pythias. He was active in numerous political campaigns going back to the Presidential race of '64, working for Republican candidate Barry Goldwater. During an election year a drive past his house would allow anyone to know his candidates of choice, always Republicans.
He was a lifelong sports fan. He coached football and little league baseball in Arizona and was the school photographer in Nogales, where his duties included filming football games and taking pictures at basketball games. He was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and in recent years began following the L.A. Lakers. He also worked as an umpire in little league baseball even though he was blind in one eye.
During the '70s, he campaigned a drag racing car, racing at Oxford Dragway and New England Dragway in New Hampshire. His sons shared his interest in racing and to this day are active racing hobbyists. Other interests included motorcycles, collecting (of all sorts), animals and firearms. He was a fervent booster of the second amendment; gun ownership was a cause near and dear to his heart.
He was a man of strong convictions and opinions, never placing much value on the politically correct. Though he had no interest in hurting people's feelings, if anyone took offense to his beliefs that was their problem. He did not judge people by color or creed but by their character.
Mr. Woodworth was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert and sisters, Kathleen Hunt and Dorothy Emerson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jennie (Madeline J. Kinney); brother, James of Woodbury, NJ; sisters, Geneva Holehan of Payson, AZ and Florence Cairns of North Waterford; his children, Henry and Marybeth Woodworth of Otisfield, Bryan and Phyllis Woodworth of Dayton, Allen and Cindy Woodworth of Gray and James and Cindy Woodworth of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Natalie Woodworth Reed, Kacy Woodworth, Kirsten Woodworth, Raymond Woodworth and Liberty Simpson and great-granddaughters, Julia Madeline Reed and Finley Simpson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Casco Village Church or the Otisfield Volunteer Fire Department.
