ALICE MARIE (FIELD) LYMBURNER

BAR HARBOR - Alice Marie (Field) Lymburner, 84, died April 3, 2003, at her home in Bar Harbor. She was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Keezer) Field. She was educated in Bar Harbor schools. Alice married Lawrence E. Lymburner Sr., in 1948. They owned and operated Dreamwood Pines Motel in Bar Harbor for many years. She was also an active real estate broker before retirement. Alice was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. She is survived and will be greatly missed by three sons; Lawrence Lymburner Jr., of Lehigh Acres, Fla., John Lymburner of Redmond, Wash. and Paul Lymburner of Bar Harbor; two daughters, Joy VanBrunt of Issaquah, Wash. and Lois Shope of Naples, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Brad, Robert and Scott Lymburner, Karen, Laurel and Lee VanBrunt, Lisa and Tom Frechette; four great-grandchildren Ethan, Faith, Taylor and Megan Lymburner; siblings, Pat Young and Betsy Doyle of Bar Harbor, Helen Bonesio of Sulphur, La., John Field of Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Lawrence; sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Dyment-Simpkins and Carole Carter; and by brothers, Ralph and Don. Friends are invited to the viewing from 11a.m. - 12 noon, Saturday, April 5, 2003, at St. Mary's Chapel at St. Savior's Episcopal Church, Mount Desert Street, Bar Harbor. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the Church and visiting with family members will be in the Parish Hall from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Those who desire may make contributions in Alice's memory to the American Cancer Society, One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

MARY BEVERLY (COLLEY) GOODINE

PORTLAND - Mary Beverly (Colley) Goodine, 73, of 100 State St., Portland, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland on March 24, 2003. She was born on Oct. 11, 1929, in Portland, and remained a Maine resident throughout her life. She lived in Gray as a child and later moved with her family to Bangor. She graduated from John Baptist High School, and married Eugene Goodine of Bangor in 1949. She was a longtime resident of Houlton, where she and Gene raised their two daughters. She enjoyed group card games with friends, bowling, gardening and family get-togethers. She moved to Gray for a short time and then to Portland in 1986, where she had resided at 100 State St. for the past 17 years. There, she made many new friends with whom she took frequent day trips to the coast and to Cole Farms Restaurant in Gray. She enjoyed being with her family and looked forward to visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Lucas Benjamin Dewitt; her husband; and two brothers, James Colley of Florida and Ronald Colley of Bangor. She is survived by two loving daughters, Elaine M. LaBrie and husband, Patrick, of New Gloucester, and Nancy J. Dewitt and husband, Gary, of Gilbert, Ariz. She also has three granddaughters, Adrienne Marie (Dewitt) Stubbs and husband, Steve, of Caribou, Desiree Mae (LaBrie) Kelly and husband, Sean, of Falmouth, and Danielle Jeanne LaBrie of Norwich, Conn.; and two precious great-grandchildren, Garrett Benjamin Stubbs and Brielle Grace Stubbs of Caribou, (they all called her "Guggy"); one sister, Lucille (Colley) Anderson of Portland, Ore.; several nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends. A family memorial will take place at a later date and Interment will be in Gray Village Cemetery, Gray. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary can be made to: National Kidney Foundation of Maine, 630 Congress St., Portland, ME 04101.

WINIFRED MCLEAN

LUBEC - Winifred "Winnie" McLean, 85, died April 3, 2003, at a Machias hospital. Visiting hours will be 12 noon until time of service 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the Larrabee Baptist Church, Machiasport. Interment will follow in the New Cutler Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.

GLADYS M. SNYDER

ELLSWORTH and GOULDSBORO - Gladys M. Snyder, 92, wife of the late Vernon B. Snyder, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at an Ellsworth health-care facility. She was born May 30, 1910, in Sorrento, the daughter of Ugene and Ida (Urann) Jellison. Gladys is survived by one son, Philip and wife, Donna, of Portland; one daughter, Alice Lothrop of Gouldsboro Point, 11 grandchildren and she will be remembered by a special granddaughter, Faye E. Kelley and several great-grand-children. She was predeceased by two sons, Jesse and Richard; one brother, Elliot Jellison and two sisters, Priscilla Severence and Anna Stover. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. May 22, 2003, at Gouldsboro Point Cemetery, Gouldsboro. Those who desire may make contributions in Glady's memory to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.

FRANK A. TRUE

CHARLESTON and CORINTH - Friends of Frank A. True may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at the Corinth United Methodist Church 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, with the Rev. Mike Pike officiating. Friends are invited to gather for conversation and light refreshments in the church hall immediately after the service.

JAMES D. JOSEPH

SKOWHEGAN - James D. Joseph, 83, died June 2, 2003, at Thayer Unit, MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville. He was born in Waterville, Nov. 1, 1919, the son of David and Tammie (Karem) Joseph. Mr. Joseph was a graduate of Waterville High School. During World War II, he worked in shipbuilding in Fall River, Mass. He retired as an independent pipe fitter welder. He was a lifetime member of the Waterville Lodge of Elks and a lifetime member of Local Pipe Fitter Union 783/716. He was a big fan of Al Corey and the Sounds of the big bands. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and loved horse races and Notre Dame football. He is survived by his companion of 19 years, Virene De Beck of Skowhegan; sons and their wives, Robert J. and Early Joseph of Helson, British Columbia, Ronald A. Joseph of Orono and Donald A. and Teddi-Jann Joseph of Orono; a daughter and her husband, Gale and Brian LaPlante of Waterville; sisters and brothers, Lena Fotter of Waterville, Julia Campion of Oakland, Josie Lasley of Virginia, Selma Thompson of Illinois, Marianne Perry of Florida, Madeline Joseph of Waterville, Celia John of West Virginia, John D. Joseph of Waterville, George Anthony "Tony" Joseph of Waterville and Philip Joseph of Florida; 18 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Yeaton Joseph, who died in 1982. A graveside committal service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville, with the Rev. Mr. Peter Joseph, deacon, officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to MaineGeneral Medical Center, 3 North Nursing Unit, Office of Philanthropy, 30 Chase Ave., Waterville, ME 04901. Arrangements are with Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.

SHERMAN MILLS - Ruth Parker Storrs, 84, died June 1, 2003, at home. She was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Meriden, Conn. She is survived by Edwin B., her loving husband of 62 years; daughter, Susan P. Andrews and her husband, Gary, of Bozeman, Mont.; daughter, Candace McKellar and her husband, Donald, of Sherman Mills; three grandsons and families, Andrew and Carolyn McKellar of Pawleys Island, S.C. and son, Colin, Peter McKellar of Platte City, Mo., and Eric and Marisa Schongalla of Walnut Creek, Calif. She attended the Whittier Congregational Church and was a member of Molunkus Valley Chapter No. 95 of Eastern Star. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial remembrances to Whittier Congregational Church, Burleigh Street, Island Falls, ME 04747; First Parish Church, 9 Cleveland St., Brunswick, ME 04011; or to another charity. Funeral service will be held at a later date. Local arrangements are by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.

BANGOR and SHERMAN MILLS - Chester Wilder Bragg, 93, beloved husband of Maude (Blake) Bragg, passed away June 2, 2003, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Bangor. He was born in Bancroft, Dec. 18, 1909, the son George and Nettie (York) Bragg. He graduated from Lee Academy in 1929. Chester was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He lived most of his life in Sherman Mills, retiring in 1974 from Great Northern Paper Co. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Maude formerly of Wytopitlock, who he married on Oct. 21, 1933; three devoted and loving daughters, Pauline Glidden of Bradford, Virginia Durgan of Dover, Fla., Mavis Auxier of Frankfort, Ky.; one sister, Helen Hatch of Bangor; an extra special nephew, Ronald Cropley and wife, Jan, of Troy; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Morse, Chester Glidden, Deanna Durgan, Gregory Durgan, Dannette Donaghy, Lynn Howes and Lori Brewer; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one special life-long and caring neighbor, Ruby Heath; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Merle and Floyd "Taylor" Bragg; six sisters, Ella Blizzard, Georgis Nye, Mrytle Kirkland, Mable, Edith and Ethel Bragg; two grandsons, Eric McNally and Geoffry Durgan. Funeral and committal services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St, Bangor. Interment will be in the Sherman Mills Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate, Inc., P.O. Box 346, Augusta, ME 04332-0346.

MERLE W. CLEMENT

PENOBSCOT - Merle W. Clement, 70, died June 2, 2003, at a Bangor hospital, after a courageous bat-tle with cancer. He was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Castine, the son of Mervyn W. and Hazel (Butler) Clement of Penobscot. Merle graduated from Bucksport High School in 1951. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 109 of Ellsworth, the Rising Star Masonic Lodge No. 177 of Penobscot, and the Castine Grange No. 250, where he was a member for 56 years. He retired from Champion Paper Co. of Bucksport in 1999, after 22 years of service. Merle was a wonderful person. His love in life was his family, friends, and his farm. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Merle is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Winchester) Clement of Penobscot; one daughter, Diane Clement-French and husband, Brian French, of Penobscot; two brothers, Linwood Clement and wife, Ruth, of Penobscot, Robert Clement and wife, Earnestine, of Hancock; twin sisters, Marilyn Calder of Penobscot, Carolyn Smith and husband, John, of Limington; step-sister, Barbara Black of Penobscot; sister-in-law, Pauline Clement of Orland; step-mother-in-law, Doris Winchester of Bucksport; two half-brothers-in-law, Wade Winchester, Blane Winchester, both of Bucksport; half-sister-in-law, Debbie Stover of Blue Hill; special sister-in-law, Elnora Woodman of Bucksport; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Merle was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Clement; a niece, Linda Calder; and a brother-in-law, Norman Calder. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Baroody, Dr. Blow and the girls at the Oncology Dept. at Blue Hill Hospital, and to the staff in Emergency and ICU at EMMC. At Merle's request there will not be visitation. A graveside funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at the Castine Cemetery, Castine, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Please donate in Merle's memory to the Ronald McDonald House, or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.

CONVERSE C. BUNKER JR.

FRANKLIN - Converse C. Bunker Jr., 56, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at a Milbridge health care facility. He was born in Bangor, Feb. 27, 1947, the son of Converse C. and Annie I. (Willey) Bunker. Converse is survived by two brothers, Stacy and Michael Bunker, both of Franklin; two sisters, Rhonda Bunker of Franklin, and Sharon Blakely of Newton, Mass., several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Bayview Cemetery, Blacks Woods Road, Franklin. Arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

ARNOLD and ELEANOR VEAGUE

BANGOR, CASTINE and COCOA BEACH, FLA. - A service of remembrance for Arnold and Eleanor Veague will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher of All Souls Congregational Church, Bangor, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., following the 11 a.m. service. Interment with committal prayers will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Castine Cemetery, Castine, with the Rev. William Friederich, pastor of Trinitarian Parish Church, UCC, Castine, officiating.

ELEANOR B. AYOOB

BANGOR - Eleanor (Bradley) Ayoob, 85, wife of Kalil Ayoob, died Monday morning, June 2, 2003, at her home, 96 Thomas Hill Road, Bangor, following a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Adeline Lambert Burke. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Ayoob of Elkins Park, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ayoob of Natick, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Ayoob was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a former member of the Athene Club and a member of the Bangor Daily News Women's Bowling League. On Aug. 31, of this year, Mrs. Ayoob and her husband would have observed their 62nd wedding anniversary. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Kevin Holsapple, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Gifts in her memory may be made to the memorial fund of St. John's Episcopal Church, 234 French St., Bangor.

DONNA M. (WARE) GOSSELIN

BREWER - Funeral services for Donna M. (Ware) Gosselin will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Apostolic Church of Brewer, with Rev. David R. Smith, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, following the Interment .

IRENE T. INGERSON

EAST MILLINOCKET - Irene T. Ingerson, 90, passed away peacefully at a Millinocket hospital on June 3, 2003. She was born in Princeton, Nov. 2, 1912, the daughter of Isaac and Elmira (Chadbourne) Tupper. She was the wife of the late Irving B. Ingerson. Mrs. Ingerson was valedictorian of her class at Princeton High School and also graduated from Eastern State Normal School in Castine. Mrs. Ingerson began her professional career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Mariaville and later taught school in Gardiner. She taught school a total of 26 years. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Larry Jones of East Hampton, Conn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Bradford and Cynthia Ingerson of Millinocket; one sister, Virginia Clark of Bangor; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a granddaughter, Rachel Jones. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Brewer at 1 p.m. June 14, 2003, with the Rev. Norman Rust officiating. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Manna Ministries, 180 Center St., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are by R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, Millinocket.
