DOVER-FOXCROFT - Graveside memorial services for Pauline D. Craine, wife of Edward Craine, who died Feb. 25, 2003, will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at the family lot in Gray Cemetery, with Rev. David McLeish officiating.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH - Graveside services for Herschel E. Bates, 85, who died June 4, 2003, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at the family lot in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.

OMA LEWIS HODGES

STILLWATER and MT. OLIVE, N.C. - Oma Lewis Hodges, 83, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side June 4, 2003, at an Orono healthcare facility.
She was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Faison, N.C., a daughter of C.P. and Emma (Sasser) Lewis.
Oma grew up on a farm in Faison, N.C., during the Depression through the World War II era.
She was a fiercely independent women and a dedicated single parent.
Oma was well-known for her seamstress abilities and was notably recognized for her adult Halloween costumes.
She was a dressmaker to the common folk as well as the rich and famous.
In 1990, she moved to Maine to be nearer her daughter and started attending the Stillwater Federated Church.
She will be remembered for sending cards to the sick and serving cheese biscuits during the fellowship hour following services.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Letchworth Hess and her husband, C. Thomas Hess, of Stillwater; a grandson, Samuel Hess of Bethesda, Md.; two granddaughters, Debra Letchworth and Diane Letchworth, both of Wilmington, N.C.; three sisters, Emma Jones of Faison, N.C., Louise Miller of Teachey, N.C., and Irene Jackson of Newton Grove, N.C.; nephews, Owen Jones and his wife, Bonita, of Calypso, N.C., Earl Jones of Mt. Olive, N.C., Phillip Jones of Groton, Conn., Stuart Millard of Panama City, Fla., Dwayne Millard of Tampa, Fla.; nieces, Faye Anderson and Kay Miller, both of Mt. Olive, N.C.; special friends, Debbie Holmes and Pat Ruthven, both of Old Town; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Samuel Letchworth; her son, James Letchworth; two sisters, Harldor Bland and Charity; two brothers, Gurney Lewis and George Lewis; nephews, C. H. Millard and Willoughby Millard.
A celebration of her life will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stillwater Federated Church, with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating.
Arrangements by Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.

MYRNA A. JORDAN

BANGOR - Myrna A. Jordan, 95, formerly of 33 Hillcrest St., Auburn, died Monday morning, June 2, 2003, at a hospital in Bangor.
She was born in Turner Sept. 19, 1907, the daughter of Herbert K. and Marie Record Allard.
She was educated in Rhode Island schools.
On Dec. 3, 1932, she married Charles W. Jordan Sr.
He passed away on Nov. 3, 1996.
A homemaker most of her life, she was a member and an active volunteer at the High Street Congregational Church in Auburn.
She also did volunteer work at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where she also served as a corporator at the hospital.
She leaves her son, Charles W. Jordan Jr. and his wife, Clinda Martin-Jordan, of Veazie; two grandchildren, Kelly Jordan Merchant and her husband, Thomas, of Bradley, and Tracie Jordan Wickett and her husband, Chris, of Veazie; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Merchant and Zachery Merchant.
Private graveside services will be held at the North Auburn cemetery at the convenience of the family.
A service of the Fortin Group/Plummer & Merrill Home, Turner and Center Streets, Auburn. 783-8545.

SHIRLEY W. RANDALL

CUTLER - Shirley W. Randall, 82, went home to be with her Lord on June 4, 2003.
She was born at Cutler Dec. 11, 1920, the daughter of Ulric and Alma Wilcox.
She was an active member and instrumental in keeping the doors open at the Head of the River Baptist Church.
She led Youth Group meetings in both the Cutler Ridge Church and the Holmes Bay Baptist Church, along with meetings at her home church, where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years.
She often cooked and visited the sick, offering to say a prayer and words of encouragement.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Clarence Randall; five daughters, Carolyn Kelley of Wiscasset, Charlotte Wright and Bonita Dorr, both of Delray Beach, Fla., Sarah and husband, Keith Dill, of Holden, and Lois and husband, Dan Holmes, of Cutler; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend and neighbor of many years, Jean O'Brien.
She was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Orena Huntley and Berla Huntley; and one brother, Gerald Wilcox.
Her love for the Lord was shown to her family and everyone who knew her.
She lived and taught compassion throughout her life.
She will be remembered by her special caregivers, Norma Davis and Virginia Reynolds, both of Cutler.
At her request, there will be no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations in her memory to the Head of the River Baptist Church, care of Susan Crosman, Cutler, ME 04626, or to the church of your choice.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at the New Cutler Cemetery, with Pastor Scott Porter officiating.
Arrangements are in the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
