Beatrice A. Blethen
1999-04-22

Beatrice A. Blethen, age 81, of Wiscasset, died Thursday, April 15 at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Bath on December 26, 1917, she was the daughter of Emery E. and Alice M. (Cobb) Rideout.

She attended Bath and Morse High School. She married Frank G. Allen. On November 28, 1947 she married Frank W. Blethen and they moved to York in 1951. While in York she worked in shoe shops and at the York Village Hospital and the York Village Store. In 1989 she moved to Wiscasset.

Mrs. Blethen enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting and cooking.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1986; one daughter, Lorraine E. Pinkham in 1989; and one sister, Ada Henderson.

Survivors include one son, Frank G. Allen Jr. of Wiscasset; two daughters, Alice M. Adams and Gloria Jean Barnes, both of Wiscasset; two stepsons, Dennis Blethen of Florida and Gerald Blethen of Richmond; two brothers, Arthur E. Rideout and Carlton E. Rideout, both of Bath; one sister, Viola Stinson of Brunswick, 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grand-children; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 20 at Oak Grove cemetery in Bath with Rev. Alice Davies officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miles Health Care, RR #2, Box 4500, Damariscotta, ME 04543. Arrangements are by Mayo, Curtis & Hill Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath.

Mrs. Ann E. Bleyle
1999-12-30

BRIDGTON - Ann E. Bleyle, age 81, died Friday morning, December 17, at the Northern Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Bridgton, following a brief illness.

She was born in Lynn, MA, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Fudge) Clarke. She attended the Lynn English High School. Mrs. Bleyle worked as a secretary and was employed with G.E. in Lynn, MA for many years. She served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves during WW II as the Secretary to the Commander of the Flotilla. Mrs. Bleyle was a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Lynn, the St. John's Episcopal Church in Saugus, MA, where she sang in the choir, and an active member of the St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bridgton. She also was a member of the Citrus Springs Chorus and a music therapy volunteer for both the Bay Pines Veterans' Nursing Home in Bay Pines, FL and the Bridgton Health Care Center in Bridgton. Mrs. Bleyle was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Robert S. Bleyle, Sr., who died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Robert S. Bleyle, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA and Citrus Springs, FL; a daughter, Bonnie A. Bleyle of Bridgton; three grandchildren; and a sister, Peg Bailey of Essex, MA.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 23 in the Raymond-Wentworth Funeral Home in Bridgton. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the American Heart Assn, Research Dept., P.O. Box 317, Augusta, ME 0432-0317 or to the Alzheimer's Disease Assn., 163 Lancaster Street, Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101.

Ms Pauline M. Blodgett
2000-01-20

SOUTH PARIS - Pauline M. Blodgett, 88, of Norway died Monday, January 10, 2000, at the Market Square Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Boston, MA on October 3, 1911, the daughter of Helen Blodgett Mills.

She attended schools in N. Abbington, MA.

Ms Blodgett was a homemaker and caregiver to children as well as working in local industries for many years.

She worked for Wilner's Wood Products for 14 years, and B.E Cole and Miller Shoe for 13 years.

She was a member of the 4H club, Oxford County Senior Citizens Group, Friendly Senior Citizens Group, and the Pythian Sisters.

Pauline was famous for her delicious rolls she would make for friends and family.

She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Mills, of Lady Lake, FL and Robert Mills of Connecticut; a sister Dorothy Mills of West Morland, NH; one nephew; three great nephews and a cousin, Allen Blodgett.

She was predeceased by a sister Barbara.

In the spring, the family is planning a memorial service that will be announced at that time. Donations in Ms Blodgett's memory can be made to your favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, Norway.

James Eugene Brann
2000-10-19

James Eugene Brann, 87, Whitefield, died Sat., Oct. 14, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness.

Born in North Whitefield on December 6, 1912, he was the son of Arthur Eugene and Bridgett (Ferrie) Brann, and was educated in local schools.

Jim was married to the former Marjorie Clark, and had been a mechanic at several garages over the years.

He was a longtime member of the North Whitefield Volunteer Fire Department and was past master of Arlington Grange. He continued working on cars at his garage at home after retirement.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Marjorie Clark Brann of Whitefield are his two daughters, Peggy Petherbridge and husband William of Lewiston; and Sheila M. Lasselle and husband Norman of Pittsfield; four sons, James E. Brann, Jr. of Augusta, Ronald A. Brann and wife Elaine of Jefferson; Clarence E. Brann and wife Fran of Windsor; and Richard F. Brann of Wiscasset; his step-mother, Jennie Brann of Coopers Mills; two half-sisters, June Turner and Linda Brann of Whitefield; his half-brother, Robert Brann of Whitefield; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

By request, there are no visiting hours. A private graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery, Rt. 126, Jefferson. Burial will follow the service. Gray & Pratt Funeral Directors, Windsor in charge of service plans.

Beverly C. Bodge
1998-07-16

Beverly C. Bodge, 65, died Wednesday, July 8 at the Gray Birch/Maine General Nursing Home in Augusta after a long illness.

Ms. Bodge was born in Pittston on June 30, 1933.

Living most of her life in the state of Maine, she also lived in Long Island, New York and Connecticut.

In her younger years, Ms. Bodge enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Brewer of Boothbay and Donna Breidenbach of Long Island, New York; a son, Theodore Hunt of Dover, Maine; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves a very special friend, Eileen Quintal, a Gray Birch resident.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Activity Fund of the Gray Birch/Maine General Nursing Home of Augusta.

Bertha A. Bodmer
1998-07-30

Bertha A. Bodmer, 84, died Friday at Winship Green Nursing Home where she has been a patient for the past few years.

Born at East Blackstone, Mass., Oct. 16, 1913, she was a daughter of Alfred A. and Alice Simard Garneau. She was educated in Woonsocket and Franklin, Mass. schools.

She married Edward S. Bodmer in 1933. He died in 1972. She moved to Bath to make her home in 1977.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Our Ladys Sodality, Daughters of Isabella Cosmopolitan Club, Bath Area Senior Citizens and Montsweag Farm Extension.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald A. Bodmer of Westport and Edward S. Bodmer Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister Lucille LaCauture of Pascoag, Rhode Island; five brothers, Leo Garneau of South Bellington, Mass, Harvey and Ernest Garneau both of West Palm Beach, Florida, Eugene of Attleboro, Mass. and Edgar of Farmington, Michigan; five grand children and six great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church with Father Joseph McKenna officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, North Grafton, Mass.

Arrangements are by the David E. Desmond Funeral Service - Bath.

Mr. Max W. Bonney Jr.
1999-10-14

LEWISTON - Max W. Bonney Jr., 68, of Hartford, died Tuesday morning, October 5, 1999, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Mr. Bonney was born October 15, 1930 in Lewiston, the son of Katheryn (Tucker) Meserve and the late Max W. Bonney Sr.

He moved to Hartford in 1998, after residing 20 years in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Bonney worked as a welder for the oil fields in Texas until his retirement.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bonney was a member of the American Legion in Buckfield.

He is survived by his three children, David Bonney and his wife, Rose, of Ringoes, NJ, Rusty Bonney and his wife, Janie, of Topyhanna, PA, and Debbie Salish, and her husband, Michael, of Maple Place, WA; three grandchildren, Melissa, Amanda, and Ian, and one great-grandson, Daniel; his mother, Katheryn (Tucker) Meserve of Hartford, and one brother, Robert, of Clinton. He was predeceased by his wife, Pat King,, his father, Max Bonney, and a brother, Lawrence Bonney.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 9, at the Andrews Funeral Home in Buckfield.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, October 10, in the Elmwood cemetery in East Sumner, with Rev. Eva Thompson officiating.

Robert A. Boos
1998-10-01

NORWAY - Robert A. Boos, 54, died September 23 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway after a long illness. Mr. Boos was owner of Computerized Accounting Systems. He was a graduate of New York Military Academy in Newburg, New York and Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Alta Slaugh Boos and Richard N. Boos of Lakewood, New Jersey.

He is survived by his father, Richard N. Boos of Lakewood, New Jersey, beloved son Kevin Boos of Pennsylvania, beloved daughter Karen and son-in-law Rick and grandson Colin of Wisconsin, brother R. William and wife Joyce Boos of Harrison, nephews Brad Boos of Casco and Todd and wife Laurie of Bridgton.

At the request of the family, no services will be held. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so to Stephens Memorial Hospital, Special Care Unit, Norway, ME 04268, where Mr. Boos was tenderly cared for by the staff and Dr. William Medd.

Jerald Frank Boutilier
1999-05-20

PORTLAND - Jerald F. Boutilier, 67, of Naples died Sunday morning, May 16, at Maine Medical Center following a long illness.

He was born January 18, 1932 in Bridgton, the son of Thelma and Clyde Boutilier.

He graduated from Bridgton High School in 1950.

He married Muriel Small of Bridgton in 1953.

Mr. Boutilier was a veteran and served in France.

After enlisting in the Maine State Police in 1957, he went on to become a detective. He retired in 1977, as a captain and Director of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

He enjoyed working on antique cars, hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Civil War buff.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Muriel; daughters, Diane Dean, of Bridgton, Debra Collier, of Naples and a son, Dan Boutilier of Naples; seven grandchildren, a brother, Melvin Mickey Boutilier of Gorham and a sister, Jackie Huntress, of Bridgton.

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Main Street Bridgton at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Maine State Troopers Association Scholarship Fund, 99 Western Ave., Augusta, Maine 04330, in his memory.

Marie A. Boutin
2000-07-13

Marie Ange Boutin, 94, of Wiscasset, died Friday, July 7 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada on June 8, 1906, she was the daughter of George and Lumina (Therrien) Savard. She attended schools in Coaticook, Quebec.

In 1922 she married Gaudias Boutin in Island Pond, Vermont and he died on July 13, 1970. She lived in Berlin, N.H. for many years. In 1980 she moved to Wiscasset to live with her daughter, Lena Boucher, in Wiscasset.

Mrs. Boutin was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Berlin, N.H.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond Boutin of Oakville, Conn., Marcel Boutin of Florida, Maurice Boutin of Fitzwilliam, N.H., and Rene Boutin of Troy, N.H.; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Claire) Goulet of Berlin, N.H., Solange "Sally" Flynn of Naugatuck, Conn., and Mrs. Richard (Lena) Boucher of Wiscasset; one sister, Fernande Frappier of Sherbrook, Quebec; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; one son, Roger Boutin; one brother, Albert Savard; three sisters, Germain Savard, Fabiola Savard and Marie Lessard; and one grandson, Marcel F. Goulet.

Visiting hours were on Sunday, July 9 at Mayo & Daigle Funeral Home in Wiscasset. There will be no funeral services.
