Mrs. Juliette T. Morin

BETHEL - Juliette T. "Mom" Morin, 77, of Bethel, died in Portland February 1, 2006.
She was born in Lewiston on March 25, 1928, the daughter of Arthur and Elna (Paradis) Lacasse and attended St. Peter's & St. Paul schools.
She married Antoine Morin on June 23, 1951; he died July 24, 1988. She had been a homemaker most of her life. She was an avid reader, was a member of Curves and the Pleasant Valley Bible Church of West Bethel.
Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren. All of her family holds her very dear to their hearts
Mrs. Morin is survived by four sons, Donald Morin and his wife Roberta of Albany,
Robert Morin and his wife Cheryl of Andover, Raymond Morin and his wife Tracy of Greenwood and Ronald Morin and his wife Tracy of Andover; five daughters, Rita Sweetser and her husband Lloyd of Bethel, Connie Bretton and her husband Victor of Rumford Center, Jacqui Morin and her companion Richard Wakefield of Greenwood, Linda Denton and her husband Larry of Vacaville, CA and Nancy Annis and her husband David of Bethel; four brothers, Leo Lacasse of Auburn, Maurice Lacasse of Lisbon, Rev. Robert Lacasse of Bolivia and Paul Lacasse of Sabattus; two sisters, Rita Morency of Auburn and Lorraine Farpelha of Oregon; 28 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many special friends from Curves and the Pleasant Valley Bible Church and a special friend Frank Watson of Gilead. She was predeceased by her husband, Antoine Morin and six brothers, Marcel, Ferdinand, Emile, Romeo, Norman and Roland.
Visiting hours were held at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 37 Vernon Street, Bethel on Friday and Saturday, February 3 and 4, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Bethel Alliance Church on Sunday, February 5 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Aaron McNally, pastor of the Pleasant Valley Bible Church officiating. Spring burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Bethel.

Mr. Arthur G. Rand

NORWAY - Arthur George Rand, 76, of Norway, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in Bridgton on January 29, 1930, the son of Berl and Avis Merrill Rand. He served in the U. S. Navy on a refueling tanker in the Mediterranean during the Korean War. He married Jean Evelyn Smith on January 13, 1953.
He attended classes at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He worked at General Electric in Cincinnati, OH, Ford Garage, MacDonald Motors in Bridgton and owned and operated Rand's Garage in Fryeburg. He had many interests including reading, gardening, hunting, reloading ammo and socializing. He preferred a primitive life style.
Mr. Rand is survived by two daughters, April and her husband Kenneth Briggs of Norway and Dolly Rand and her companion Robert Connolly of North Las Vegas, NV; a son, Dana Rand and his longtime companion Stephanie Abbott of Lovell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Rich of Lady Lake, FL and Linda Knight of Bolsters Mills and a brother, John Rand of Harrison. He was predeceased by his parents; his sons, Carey James and his twin Kelly Arthur; a daughter, Daisy Larrabee Dudley and a brother, Paul Rand.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 14 at 2 p.m. at Harrison Village Cemetery in Harrison. Arrangements are under the direction of Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 230 Main St., Norway.

Mr. George Edward Powers

SOUTH PARIS - George Edward Powers, 73, of South Paris died Monday, August 14, 2006 at his home.
He was born in Buckfield on February 14, 1933, the son of Wilford and Mary Turner Powers. He graduated from the Maine School for the Deaf in 1951. He worked with his father on a milk truck before working at Paris Manufacturing where he retired after 36 years. He married Rita Buker on September 1, 1956. He was a member of the Lewiston/Auburn Deaf Club and the Streaked Mountain Snowmobile Club in Buckfield. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and camping.
Mr. Powers is survived by his wife, Rita of South Paris; two sons, Gary and Deanna of Otisfield and Dale of South Paris and two grandchildren, Gary Goodman of South Paris and Crystal Powers of Norway.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 11 a.m. at Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main St., South Paris with interment to follow at Riverside Annex Cemetery in South Paris. Family and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Frank Arthur Edwin Leino

HARRISON - After enduring several years of poor health, Frank Arthur Edwin Leino, 79, of Harrison succumbed to cancer on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Togus. He was born in Harrison on August 4, 1927, the ninth child of John and Hilda Kangas Leino.
He was inducted into the U.S. Army on November 15, 1950. He served as a clerk in the U.S. Headquarters Company, 373 Transportation Unit, that was identified as serving in the New Jersey Port area. He was discharged as a Private-E2.
He spent his working life being a woodsman. He worked in Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut. He retired in 1989 to the family farm in Harrison to live with his brother Walter and sister Martha to enjoy a quiet country life.
Mr. Leino is survived by his brothers, Bruno and wife Ruth, Henry and wife Miriam, Harold and wife Helen and Walter; his sisters, Lempi Heath, Lila Butterfield and husband Lesley, Eila Makey and husband John and Martha Leino; sister-in-law, Avis Leino and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Helmi and four brothers, Arne, Matti, Lauri and Eugene.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 9 at 3 p.m. at Harrison Lutheran Cemetery in Harrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086 or the Harrison Lutheran Cemetery Association, c/o Daphne Chapin, Harrison, ME 04040.
Arrangements are under the direction of Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 230 Main St., Norway.

Mrs. Beatrice 'Bea' Arlene Bean

WEST PARIS - Beatrice "Bea" Arlene Bean, 80, of West Paris, died peacefully with her family by her side at Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris on November 25, 2006.
She was born in Bethel on May 18, 1926, the daughter of Joel and Lulu (Downs) Merrill and was educated in Bethel and Hanover schools. She had worked for a time at Newton-Tebbets in West Bethel and was a homemaker most of her life. She loved to cook, paint and paper, loved kids and was known as "Auntie Bea."
Mrs. Bean is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Carroll (Cack) Bean of West Paris; five sons, Carroll "Cacky" Bean Jr. and his wife Dora of Alburg, VT, John Bean and his wife Diane of Baker City, OR, Charles Bean and his wife Liz of Milan, NH, Douglas Bean and his wife Jenny of Mt. Vernon and Christopher "Chip" Bean and his wife Becky of Errol, NH; one daughter, Rebecca Bean of Hanover; fifteen grandchildren, Timmy, Mikey, Jenny, Jump, Jessica, Justin, Scotty, Stephenie, Gabe, Jamie, Sophia, Collin, Natalie, Kristie and Nick and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by seven brothers and five sisters.
Memorial services will be held at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, 37 Vernon Street, Bethel on Saturday, December 2 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Lloyd Waterhouse officiating.
The family suggests those who wish, make memorial donations in Mrs. Bean's name to the Maine Alzheimer's Association, Inc., 163 Lancaster Street, Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101.

Mr. David J. Mottram

CHEYENNE, WY - David J. Mottram, 71, of Cheyenne WY, formerly of Auburn, died January 3, 2007 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne.
He was born in Lewiston on May 28, 1935, the son of Wallace D. and Florence (Proctor) Mottram. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1954, and then joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 20 years as a mechanic and flight manager, working with Minute Man Missiles. On September 25, 1957, he married Anita St. John.
His hobbies were fishing and bowling. After retirement he lived in Maine and Wyoming working at various jobs.
Mr. Mottram is survived by his loving wife Anita of Cheyenne; son David Jr. and grandson David Kyle of Marysville, WA; daughters, Laurie Ann Mottram and Sarah Leslie of Cheyenne; grandsons, Denon, Richard and Dustin of Maryland; brothers, Roger and wife Claire of Mechanic Falls, Frank and friend Bea Page of Mechanic Falls, Gerald and wife Dolores of Auburn, Ronald and wife Elizabeth of Ellington and Bruce and Diane of Turner; sister Gloria Hall of West Palm Beach, FL; sister-in-law Beverly Mottram of Mechanic Falls and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Florence Mottram; brother Dale T. Mottram and nephews, Jeffrey and Kevin Mottram.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be held in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Mrs. Margaret E. (Peggy) Ellingwood

HARRISON - Margaret E. (Peggy) Ellingwood, 61, of Harrison died unexpectedly Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Lynn, MA., August 4, 1945, the daughter of Armand and Evelyn James Decareau. She attended school in Lynn and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, camping summers in Maine and spring in Virginia. She also enjoyed ceramics; many people have items she made. She had a tendency towards the flamboyant, but above all she loved her family and grandkids.
Mrs. Ellingwood is survived by her husband, Harold Ellingwood of Harrison; one daughter, Lisa Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA; two stepsons, Jeff Howard of Glenburn and Richard Ellingwood; a stepdaughter, Mari-Lynn Winn of South Berwick; a brother, William; three sisters, Henrietta, Charlotte and Judy and several grandchildren.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday evening, March 28 at the Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 230 Main Street, Norway where a funeral service will be held Thursday, March 29 at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Dolores Marie Smith

HARRISON - Dolores Marie Smith, 81, of Harrison died unexpectedly Saturday, May 26, 2007 at her residence.
She was born in Detroit, MI on September 27, 1925 to John and Helen Gensicki. She was a graduate of Cass Tech High School in Detroit, MI and received an Associates Degree from New Mexico State University. She married Daniel A. Smith in 1965 and together they raised two daughters in Las Cruces, NM.
She was the personnel manager for the Washington School of Secretaries, a realtor with Watson & Watson and a homemaker. She was a beloved wife and mother, an herbalist, an excellent cook and book collector, with a large collection of cookbooks. She raised German shepherd dogs, enjoyed visits to her daughters' families in New Mexico and in Georgia, cooking, gardening, reading and finding the best recipes on earth.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband Dan of Harrison; two daughters, Nina, wife of Michael Ricklin of Sante Fe, NM and Leah, wife of Frank Fisher of Atlanta, GA; a stepson, Daniel B. Smith of Conroe, TX and five grandchildren, Jason, Jacqueline and Justin Fisher and Nathan and Megan Ricklin. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Eleanor and brothers, Joseph and Leonard. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her passionate love of family, her kindness and generosity.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 230 Main St., Norway. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, 1389 Bridgton Rd., Fryeburg, ME 04031.

Mr. Keith Babbidge

SOUTH PARIS - Keith Babbidge, 34, of South Paris died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
He was born at Portland on March 29, 1972 to Jonathan and Doris (Gendron) Babbidge. He had worked as a truck driver and a mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his boys, stock car racing at Oxford Plains Speedway and Wiscasset Speedway. He really enjoyed the sport of Mud Running. He had won numerous trophies at the speedways and mud running.
He was a member of the Maine Mud Bog Association, Western Maine Rabbit Breeders Association, and the Essex County Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association of Topsfield, MA.
Mr. Babbidge is survived by his fiancee, Nellie Emery of South Paris; his parents, Jonathan and Doris Babbidge of West Paris; three children, Chase Babbidge, Quinn Babbidge and Timothy LaGrange, all of South Paris; one sister, Charlene Nieves and brother-in-law Donald of Poland; maternal grandparents, Marcel and Jeannette Gendron of Old Orchard Beach; paternal grandparents, Albert and Phyllis Babbidge of Pownal; two nephews; one niece and many friends at B&F Auto. He was predeceased by a niece.
Family and friends attended a visitation on Tuesday, September 18 at Oxford Hills Funeral Service, 1037 Main Street, Rte. 26, Oxford. Funeral services were held on Wednesday September 19, at the funeral home with the Rev. Linda Kimball of the Mission Congregational Church of West Paris officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his children, Chase, Quinn or Timothy, c/o Oxford Federal Credit Union, 1591 Main Street, Oxford, ME 04270.
