Mrs. Muriel Erla Boyker Faudi
1999-11-04

NORWAY - Muriel Erla Boyker Faudi passed away Tuesday, October 26, 1999 in Norway, at the age of 88.

Mrs. Faudi was born on January 20, 1911 in Naples, the daughter of the late Miriam Richardson Boyker and former State Senator Henry W. Boyker.

Mrs. Faudi grew up in Portland, graduating from Deering High School in 1929, the Maine Business Institute and from Westbrook Seminary and Junior College in 1931, with specialties in journalism, music and dramatic arts.

She was a member of the Women's Choral Society while at Westbrook Junior and Director of the Glee Club at Fraternity House. She studied voice under the direction of Susan G. Coffin and music appreciation under the direction of Ruth Ellen Dodds. Mrs. Faudi was a very active member of Clark Memorial Methodist Church in Portland where she directed the choir for many years.

Mrs. Faudi founded the first sorority in Rhode Island, Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, while residing in Providence. Mrs. Faudi sold the first burial plot at Brooklawn Memorial Park at its inception in 1935.

On March 6, 1942, she married Phillip Harvey Faudi, D.C., of Riesel, Texas who predeceased her on February 21, 1987.

In 1952 Mrs. Faudi moved to Bethel where she resided until her death. Mrs. Faudi was very actively involved in the Bethel United Methodist Church, acting as Lay Leader for two years, interim Pastor, Church Missions, Bible Study class for 17 years, Pastor Parish Relations Committee, President, Bethel United Methodist Women,eight years, Chair, Worship Committee, five years, Prayer and Self-denial Coordinator, two years and Friday Gift Shop Sales, 15 years.

In 1994, Mrs. Faudi was recognized among outstanding church women. She helped institute the meal site in 1993 and was chair for the 100th Anniversary Celebration.

Mrs. Faudi served as President for the Bethel Senior Citizens for 10 years and was was Sunshine Chair for six years. She was member of the Bethel Historical Society, was Rotary Award Recipient for outstanding service to the community and was call-in for the Pine Tree Transit Bus for 15 years.

She is survived by two children, a son, Phillip Calef Faudi and his wife, Rita, of Turner and a daughter, Stephanie Miriam Faudi Emens, of Norway; two grandchildren, Courtney Taylor Emens and Whitney Boyker Emens and 15 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Faudi was predeceased by her parents, husband, Phillip Harvey Faudi, two half-sisters, Corinne Holt of Wilton, and Marilyn Hammel of Tampa, Florida.

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 1, at the Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Henry Nickerson officiating. A fellowship of celebration followed. Graveside services were held at the Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.

Marie Barbara Felmeth

NORTH NORWAY - A memorial service for Marie Barbara Felmeth will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 at Norway Center Church in North Norway.

All friends and family are welcome to attend a reception immediately following the services.

Barbara C. (Coffin) Felt
1998-08-06

Barbara C. (Coffin) Felt, 73, died in her home of 53 years on Felt Road, July 29, 1998, with her family by her side.

She was born February 24, 1925, the daughter of the late Alpheus B. Coffin and Agnes M. (Millett) Coffin. She was educated in Rumford schools and graduated from Woodstock High School in Bryant Pond.

Mrs. Felt was a member of the Bryant Pond Baptist Church, where she was a member of the youth group and sang in the choir.

She worked at the Stowell Silk Spool Mill and at the Birch Villa Inn.

She belonged to the Girl Scouts and to the local 4-H group. She was a member of the Franklin Juvenile Grange, Franklin Subordinate Grange, in which she held the office of Chaplain, Oxford Pomona Grange, Maine State and National Grange.

She married her husband of 53 years, Richard Felt, on June 30, 1945. Together they worked side by side on their farm, where they had a dairy herd, sheep, poultry and pigs. The couple raised crops for local canning factories and worked on their woodlots.

Mrs. Felt was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She spent many hours volunteering in her daughter's school and followed her as the band and softball team traveled from town to town. She was a devoted Red Sox fan and, once when they were in a slump, was quoted as saying, `My daughter's softball team can beat them!'

She was a very talented craftslady. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flower arranging, jewelry making, music, reading especially Laura Ingalls Wilder books knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, playing Chinese Checkers, the outdoors, `attempted' carpentry and most of all, spending time with her family.

She loved her granddaughter Jennifer and took an active part in raising her, supporting her interests and hobbies and following her in her musical and educational endeavors.

Mrs. Felt will be remembered for her sense of humor, her caring ways and for the love and devotion she showered upon her family. She was always reading and learning, and encouraged others to do the same. She was an inspiration and a source of delight to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; her mother, Agnes Coffin; a daughter, Sharon E. Silver; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Felt; a brother, Millett Coffin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Alpheus.

Funeral services were held August 1 at the Andrews Funeral Home in South Woodstock. Interment was in the Lakeside Cemetery, Bryant Pond.

Those who wish may make donations in Mrs. Felt's memory to either Tri-Town Rescue, PO Box 275, West Paris, ME 04289; or the Whitman Memorial Library, Book Fund, Main St., Bryant Pond, ME 04219.

Mary C. Ferri
1999-09-03

Mary C. Ferri, 87, of Gray, died Thursday at a Portland nursing home.

She was born in New York City, a daughter of Vito and Annette Guglielamo.

On February 19, 1928, she married Michael Ferri.

After several years of marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Ferri moved to Gray from upper New York state.

She was a communicant of St. Gregory's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Ferri worked at several department stores in the Portland area.

She also gardened, knitted and cooked.

Her husband died in 1972.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Ferri of Gray; three daughters, Pauline Ayer, of Winthrop, Ann Egbert, of Portland and Betty McKeown, of Biddeford; two brothers, Anthony F. Williams, of Liverpool, NY, and Samuel L. Williams Sr. of Tully, NY; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were private. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 10 Bangor Street, Suite F, Augusta, ME 04330.

Marion B. Field
1999-09-09

SOUTH PARIS - Marion B. Field, 68, of Norway and Lakeland, FL, died Tuesday, September 7,1999, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in Norway, November 14,1930, the daughter of Ellis and Bessie Corbett Bean Sr.

She graduated from Paris High School in 1949 and recently celebrated her 50th class reunion. She worked at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway until she retired in 1988 due to illness.

Mrs. Field was a member of the Paris Alumni Association,Past Secretary and Past Noble Grand of Mt. Pleasant Rebekah Lodge #30 and she had affiliated with Mt. Hope Rebekah Lodge #58 and had served as Noble Grand for that lodge also. She was a Past District Deputy President of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine and a member of Sunniland Rebekah Lodge in Lakeland,FL.

On May 12,1951, she married Ralph Field,Jr.,who died on December 1,1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Heaward of Norway and Sharon Nelson of Poland; her companion Charles Gilliatte of Lakeland, FL.; two brothers, Ellis Bean, Jr. of South Paris and Keith Bean of Hillsboro, NH; one sister, Hazel Abbott of Norway, five grandsons, Todd Heaward of Melbourne,FL, Eric Nelson of Wilton,Scott Heaward of Hawaii, Schofield Bks,Troy Nelson of Poland and Marc Chandler of South Paris.

She was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Bean, who died in 1989.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, South Paris with Interment in Riverside Annex Cemetery, South Paris.

Family and friends called at the funeral home Wednesday evening where public Rebekah memorial services were conducted.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial gifts in her memory to the Activity Fund,Market Square Health Care Center,South Paris, ME.

Rebecca P. Figgins
1999-11-04

Rebecca Partridge Figgins, 81, of Naples, Florida, died Tuesday, October 26.

A resident of Moorings Park in Naples since 1982, she was the daughter of Robert and Cora Partridge of Augusta where she resided until marriage. She and her spouse then lived in Hartford, Conn., Kansas City Mo., Baltimore Md., Bethesda, Md., Dallas Texas, Los Angeles, Calif., Weston and Wellesley, Mass. with summers spent at Ocean Point in East Boothbay.

She was an art major graduate of Mount Holyoke College in 1940 before a period of work in a Boston medical laboratory and marriage in 1941. Her interests centered around her family, world travel, watercolor and Ikebana creations, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Mass., where she served on the Ladies Committee, classical music, dance and keeping up with college, art and summer friends.

Survivors include her husband, Weston P. Figgins; two daughters and spouses, Susan and John Evans, Montgomery Village, Md., and Nancy and Michael Henderek, Houston, Texas; four grandsons and spouses, Robert and Jacqueline Evans and David and Natalie Evans, Weston and David Henderek; and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Erin Evans.

Her life will be memorialized at Ocean Point in East Boothbay next summer. She may be remembered by support to St. Andrews Hospital, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.

Robert Fischer III
1998-12-24

Robert Fischer III, 54, of Chester Township, N.J. and Ocean Point, a prominent attorney, died Sunday, December 20 at home. Mr. Fischer was a senior partner of Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti LLP of Morristown and worked in the law firm's Corporate and Financial Institutions Practice Groups.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, December 23 at the Leber Funeral Home, Chester Township.

Mr. Fischer was a member of the law firm's management committee and served on the executive committee. He was head of the recruiting committee and also played an important role on the library committee.

He was named by his peers as one of the ``best lawyers in America" for corporate law for the 1999-2000 edition, the 1997-1998 edition and 1995-1996 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, a book published by Woodward/ White Publishing. He was named one of the top lawyers in New Jersey in the March 1998 issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine.

He had been lead counsel in representing entities in mergers and acquisitions, the raising of venture capital and the representation of high tech companies. He also represented several major financial institutions in most types of commercial lending transactions, especially in the corporate trust area.

Mr. Fischer was a frequent speaker to corporate and banking audiences. His article, ``Recent Development in Corporate Trust Law - A Discussion of the Decision of Lorenz, Rudbart and Prime Motor," was published in the American Bankers Association's Trust Division quarterly newsletter.

In 1970 he joined Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti and was named a partner in 1976. He was a law clerk for the Hon. Philip Forman, senior judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, from 1969-1970.

He was a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

In 1969 Mr. Fischer earned his J.D. from Rutgers University and his B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston in 1966. While at Bates College, he was a running back on the football team.

From 1968 to 1969 he was editor of the Rutgers Law Review, and from 1968 to 1969 he was president of Phi Delta Phi.

Mrs. Fisher was an avid golfer and boater.

Born in New York City, he lived in Rutherford and Sea Girt before moving to Chester Township 13 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Goldstein Fischer; his mother, Mae M. Fischer; a son, Jacob Robert; two daughters, Ms. Kelly C. Fischer of Highlands, and Ms. Anne Shaylor Fischer. He is predeceased by his father, Robert Fischer Jr. of Rutherford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, New Brunswick; Morristown Memorial Hospital, or local hospices.

Arrangements were by Speer-Van Argdale Funeral Home, Somerville, N.J.
