Rosewell L. Hutchins
1998-08-06

Rosewell L. ``Hutch" Hutchins, 71, of Flemington, New Jersey, died Sunday, July 19 in Emmaus, N.J. He was the husband of the late Patricia L. Hutchins.

Mr. Hutchins was a corrections officer at the Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelphia, Penn., until retiring in 1984.

Born in Boothbay Harbor, he was a son of the late Earl and Myra (Sherman) Hutchins.

He was a member of East Rocktown Chapel, Quakertown, N.J., and was a military policeman in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Earl L. of Allentown, Penn.; a daughter, Klyda Hunsbedt, with whom he resided; brothers, Arthur of Portland and Donald of Scarborough; sisters, Doris DeWitt of Bath, Ethel Melcher of Scarborough and Roberta Davis of Mystic Seaport, Conn.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Memorial graveside services were held Friday, July 24 at Upper Tinicum Cemetery, Upper Black Eddy, N.J. Arrangements were by W.E. Johnson Funeral Home, Frenchtown, N.J.

Contributions may be made to the East Rocktown Chapel, c/o Margaret Yeaker, 142 N. Hellertown Ave., Quakertown, N.J.

Mollie R. Huntzinger
1999-04-15

Mollie R. Huntzinger, 77, Macungie, Penn., died April 1 in Heath Hospital, University of Wales Medical Center, Cardiff, Wales, while on vacation.

Born in McAdoo, Schuykill County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Rachel Griffith Williams.

She was an executive secretary at Mack Trucks, Allentown, Penn., for many years, until retiring.

She was the wife of the late Morris S. Huntzinger.

Mrs. Huntzinger was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Allentown, and helped produce the church newspaper, "Presbytidings."

She presently was secretary of the Homeowner's Association at the Fairways at Brookside, and was a volunteer manager of the Alcove Gift Shop at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.

Surviving are a son, Kip Huntzinger of Deltona, Fla.; two daughters, Mollie L. Baldwin and her husband Alan J. of Nobleboro, Beth Anne of Redwood City, Cal.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held April 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Allentown. Arrangements were by J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.

Contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 75 Maiden Lane, Ste. 603, New York City, NY.

Miss Eileen Hall
2000-02-24

WYOMISSING, PA - Eileen Hall, 68, of Wyomissing, PA died Saturday, December 25, in St. Joseph Medical Center.

She was born in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Orrin W. and Vivian (Gillespie) Hall.

She graduated from Norway High School in 1948 and from Tufts College.

She was a System Analyst at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT, retiring last February

She is survived by a sister Maureen (Hall) Albright and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother Orrin.

A private service will be held in New Hampshire in the spring.

Mr. L. Walfred Hamari
1999-10-07

SOUTH PARIS - L. Walfred Hamari, 86, of Harrison died Wednesday, September 29,1999, at Market Square Health Care Center.

He was born in Covington, Michigan, July 31, 1913, the son of Charles and Eliina Heikkila Hamari.

He attended school in Covington, Michigan and graduated from L'Anse High School in 1931.

On November 1,1941, he married Elma M. Makinen.

During World War II he worked in a factory boring cylinders for tank motors.He moved to Harrison from Michigan over 50 years ago and operated Frosty Hollow Farm on Route 117.

He was a two-time master of Crooked River Lodge AF&AM and years ago was a member of the Harrison Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife of Harrison; one sister, Hulda Lind of Olympia, Washington; two nieces, Thelma Mosebar of Olympia, Washington and Ruth Kivimaki of Negaunee, Michigan.

Visiting hours were held Friday at the Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, Norway with Masonic Services by Crooked River Lodge. A funeral service was held Saturday at the funeral home. Interment was in Harrison Lutheran Cemetery.

Lucille F. Hanna
1999-11-04

Lucille F. Hanna, 68, of Pemaquid Point, died at her home late Monday evening, October 25 after a long illness.

Born in Rockland, November 4, 1930, she was the daughter of Nathaniel D. and Edith (Cox) House.

Moving to the Damariscotta-Newcastle region, she attended schools there, graduating from Lincoln Academy in the class of 1948. While in high school, she was the captain of the girls' basketball team, leading the team in four consecutive undefeated seasons.

She married Paul Hanna on October 8, 1950, living in Pemaquid Point from that time until her death. As a young woman, Mrs. Hanna worked as an operator at the Nash Telephone Co., in Damariscotta. A lifelong golfer, she was a member of the Wawenock County Club in Walpole, and had won the club championship several years ago. She also loved knitting and was a member of a local knitting club for several years.

Survivors include her husband of Pemaquid Point; three daughters, Cynthia H. DeLong of Round Pond, Linda H. Holmes of Houlton, and Susie J. Hanna of Boothbay Harbor. She also leaves a sister, Cynthia Winchenbach of Waldoboro; three brothers, David House of Connecticut, Calvin House of Damariscotta, Joseph Wallace House of Las Vegas; and one grandson, Samuel Holmes of Boston.

A memorial service was held on Friday, October 29 at the Chapel of the Strong Funeral Home in Damariscotta, with Pastor Ernie Farrar officiating. Burial was at the New Harbor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miles Home Health/ Hospice, Box 4500, Damariscotta, ME 04543.

Minnie Swett Hart
1999-09-16

Minnie A. Swett Hart, 82, of Noank, Connecticut died Monday morning, September 13, at her home.

She was born on December 11, 1916 in Boothbay Harbor, the daughter of Leon P. and Lillian Ryder Swett.

Mrs. Hart was married to Walter E. Hart on November 1, 1933 in Mamaroneck, New York. Mr. Hart died on September 12, 1962.

For over 14 years, Mrs. Hart had worked as a silk-screener at the former Display Ads in Mystic, and for over 23 years, she had been the live-in housekeeper for Orion Ford of Noank.

Mrs. Hart was a member of the Groton Senior Citizens and was a former member of the Southport Methodist Church in Southport.

She is survived by one son, Neil Blainehart of Windham, Connecticut; two daughters, Ardis Footman of Green, Maine and Dawn Washington of Clinton, Connecticut; three brothers, John Swett of Mystic, Connecticut, David Swett of Southport, and Frank Swett of Glencoe, Alabama; three sisters, Ida Hass of Randolph, Vermont, Josephine Marr of Boothbay Harbor, and Agnes Morin of Perham; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 16 at the Evergreen cemetery in Boothbay Harbor. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 20 at the Noank Baptist Church in Connecticut. There are no visiting hours. Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, Groton, Connecticut is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Paul E. Hartson
2000-01-20

GRISWOLD, CT - Paul E. Hartson, 69, of Griswold, died Saturday, January 8, at his home.

He was born March 11, 1930, in New York, NY, a son of the late Edward and Kathryn (Heikkinen) Hartson.

He attended school in Otisfield and Fryeburg Academy.

He achieved his Master's Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, applying those skills in his job as a Design and Service engineer at United Technologies Otis Elevator Division.

Mr. Hartson served in the U.S. Army and participated in the Korean War.

On September 29, 1966, he married Irma Summanen in Baltimore, MD. She survives. him.

Mr. Hartson was a member of the Masons. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and his summer residence in Maine.

Besides his wife, survivors include two brothers, Albert Merrick of Shirley and Alfred Merrick of Oxford. He was predeceased by a son, Robert E. Hartson.

Private arrangements were held in Connecticut.
