Jane A. Brown, died Feb 6, 1999 in Willimantic at her residence in Willimantic. Services will be private

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Pine State Cremation Service.

MILAN C. MILLER
Bangor - Milan Christopher Miller, 83, died February 3, 1999 at his residence in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born August 15, 1915 in Milford ME the son of Thomas and Goldie (Verrill) Miller.

He served his country in WW 11 , stationed in Italy. He was a bar tender. One of Ten children, He is survived by, three sisters, Millie Gwilliam, Celia LePage, and Eva Feero all of Old Town, Also surviving are Eight Children, Joe, Butch, Bob and Ron Miller, and Gerrie DeRoche, all of Portland, Marilyn Coulombe and Marie Robichaud of Old Town, Tonda Eastman of Bangor. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

A memorial service will be held 10 AM Thursday, February 11, 1999 at the Calvary Chapel of Bangor on Summerset St. with Pasture Ken Graves Officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Milford in the spring.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Pine State Cremation Service.

LEONA T. RONCO
DEXTER - Leona T. Ronco, 92, died February 03, 1999 at her home in Dexter. She was born 10-06-1906 in Dover-Foxcroft. She worked at the Maine State Hospital in Bangor for many years and was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter.

She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a son in law Roudolph Goulette of Dexter. She was pre-deceased by her husband Wilfred F. Ronco, 2 daughters Phyllis Goulette and Joan Goulette.

Friends may call Fri 6-8 pm at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home in Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter, with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter.

GEORGE L. MURRAY
NEWPORT - George Leslie Murray, 81, died unexpectedly Feb. 1, 1999 at his Goodwin Street residence. He was born July 8, 1917 at Newport the son of George Louis Murray I and Pearl (Call) Murray. He graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1936, and Tilton Preparatory School in Tilton, New Hampshire, Class of 1937. He received a B. S. Degree in Education in 1941, a Master of Education in School Administration in 1954, and a Certificate in Guidance Counseling in 1967, all from the University of Maine at Orono. George served in the U. S. Coast Guard and the U. S. Maritime Service during World War II. His career as a teacher, principal and guidance counselor started before the war in 1941 and ended upon his retirement in 1982. He served the school departments of Weare, NH, Goffstown, NH, Harmony, Searsport, Berwick, Rumford, and Dover-Foxcroft. After retiring from education George was involved in land development around Lake Sebasticook in Newport. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 24, a former Trustee of the Rumford Boys Home, a member of the school board of St. Athanasius Parochial School, and was a local director of the Neighborhood Youth Corps. He was past president of the Central Maine Guidance Association and served on the Executive Committee of the Maine Personnel and Guidance Association. He was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Pittsfield.

He is survived by his wife Cora (Reade) Murray of Newport; 6 children, Bonita and husband Harrison Hahn of Norway, Lorraine and husband Walter Shackford of N. Berwick, Paula and husband Edward Englehart of Dixfield, Linda and husband James Murphy of Blue Hill, Pamela and husband Franklin Howe of Hallowell, George II and wife Sharon Murray of Augusta; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 nephews. He was predeceased by his children Quintin and Faye.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 64 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, February 4th, with Rev. C. James Martel officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Orono. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Pine Tree Society for Handicapped Children and Adults, P. O. Box 518, Bath 04530; or to the Maine General Medical Center, Seton Unit Rehab Department, 30 Chase Avenue, Waterville 04901.

ARLIE L. FOSTER
CARMEL & DANFORTH - Arlie (Lee) Foster, 94, died January 31, 1999 at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 6, 1905 at Bancroft. She was a graduate of Danforth High School, Portland School of Fine Arts, and the American School of Normal Arts Methods in Aburdale, Mass. She taught a teenage art class at the Portland School of Art, and, after moving to Carmel, taught a teenage art class in her home, and an adult class at the Carmel Library. She was a member of the Danforth Alumni Association and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Danforth Order of The Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Judith Rebekahs of Danforth, and the Carmel Union Congregational Church, where she served as superintendent of the Sunday school for a number of years. She was a past president of the Carmel Ladies Aide, past president of the Simpson Memorial Library, past president of the Carmel Garden Club, and Secretary of the Penobscot Regional Garden Club. She was a flower show judge, having taken courses in floral arranging and judging at the University of Maine. She was a member of the Bangor Arts Society and had also served as ballot clerk in Carmel for 15 years.

She is survived by her husband, Merville Foster of Carmel; 2 grand children, Kevin Foster of Limington and Leslie Young of Cape Elizabeth; 2 great grandchildren, Andrew Foster and Taylor Young. She was predeceased by her son, John M. Foster, on December 19, 1998.

At her request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service at this time. A graveside committal service will be scheduled in the spring at the time of burial of her son John. Burial will be in the family lot, Highland Cemetery, Carmel. Those who wish to pay their respects to the family are invited to join them at worship 10 A.M. Sunday, February 7th at the Carmel Union Congregational Church with Rev. Mark Bruce officiating. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Maine College of Art, 97 Spring Street, Portland 04101. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

ARTHELINE C. GILBERT
DEXTER, Artheline C. Gilbert, 71, died 01-31-1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born 02-12-1927 in Hartford, Conn., daughter of Walter and Yvonne (Derosier) Violette. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter. She worked for many years doing clerical work for Fay Scott Co. and later for Dexter Shoe Co. in Dexter. She was predeceased by her husband Roland Gilbert.

She is survived by 2 sons Larry and his wife Sandra Gilbert of Bangor and Ronald Gilbert of Fairfield; 5 sisters Peggy Meakin of Corinna, Geraldine Lambert of CT, Jeannette Votour of Corinna, Imldia Violette of Corinna, Doris Dowling of E. Holden; 3 grandchildren, Paul Gilbert of Virginia, Lynn Gilbert of Bangor and Ashley Gilbert of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday February 10 at the Maine Memorial Veterans cemetery Chapel in Belgrade. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.

ALCIDE L. LESSARD
DEXTER - Alcide L. Lessard, 76, died 01-29-1999 at a Bangor hospital. He was born 01-18-1923 in Skowhegan son of Joseph and Amanda (Turcotte) Lessard. He graduated from Skowhegan High School class of 1941 and then served in the US Army during WWII. After the service Alcide worked in quality control for Dexter Shoe Co. in Dexter. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Faustina (Clukey) Lessard; 2 sons and their wives Daryl and Linda Lessard and Robert and Deborah Lessard; a daughter and her husband, Deborah and Michael Ronco, a sister and her husband Catherine and Loren Clukey all of Dexter and a sister Elizabeth Bisson of Skowhegan; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers Norman, Joseph and Raymond.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the American Lung Asso., 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter. 924-6890

CORAL A. RUDOLPH
DEXTER, Coral A. Rudolph, 64, died 01-27-1999 at a Bangor hospital. She was born 12-16-1934 in Boston, daughter of Frenando and Selma (Peterson) Annis. She worked at Plummer Memorial in Dexter and later at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft as a substance abuse counselor. In 1991 she moved to the out-patient division at Wellspring, Inc. in Bangor and since 1992 has served as their director of the women’s house. Her testimony to her Savior was very strong to the moment of her death.

She is survived by her husband David Rudolph of Dexter; 2 daughters and their husbands, Beth and Erik Stumpfel of Sangerville and Victoria and Thomas Burby of Bangor; a sister Hazel and her husband George Morse of Bradford, NH; 4 grandchildren, Megan, Jennifer, Jonathan and James; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at the Church of the Open Bible in Charleston with Rev. Robert Young officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Foreign Missions Board - Mission Board of the Reformed Episcipol Church, c/o David Rudolph, 327 Ripley Road, Dexter, ME 04930 and or to Wellspring, Inc., 98 Cumberland St., Bangor, ME 04401.

BRUCE G. ROLFE
DEXTER - Bruce G. Rolfe, 74, died January 26, 1999 at his Prospect Street residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 17, 1924 at Hope the adopted son of LeRoy and Nellie Rolfe. He attended Union schools, served in the U. S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He had been employed at several area factories. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper, and will be sadly missed by his many camping friends. His happiest moments where when his home was full of grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Crowell) Rolfe of Dexter; his children, Bruce, Jr. of Waldoboro, Warren of Rockland, Glenda and husband Loren Roberts of Belfast, Julie and husband Wayne Smith, Deborah and husband Robert Hartley, all of Dexter, Ralph “Eddie” and wife Lottie of Waldo, Susan and husband James Fletcher of Exeter, William “Bill” and friend Clarissa of Dover, New Hamphire, Tammy and husband Scott Raye of Cambridge; 5 sisters, Helen Gerrish of Milo, Ethel Fergerson and Alice Rolfe both of Trenton, Ontario, Bertha Smith of Ellsworth, and June Merrifield of St. Albans; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 1 great grand-daughter, Natasha Roberts, who died in 1981.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday with Rev. Robert Emrich officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

PAULINE W. CAISSE
DEXTER – Pauline W. Caisse, 75, died January 24, 1999. She was a resident of Dexter Healthcare for 1-˝ years. She was born August 1, 1923 at Sangerville the daughter of George and Emma Adelle (Wenworth) Ronco. She graduated from Sangerville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where she served for 2 years during World War II. Pauline resided in Norwich, CT for several years after she married. She moved to Maine in 1959. She was active in the South Sangerville Grange for many years. She was a communicant of the St. Annes Catholic Church in Dexter. Pauline did housekeeping for several families while raising four children.

She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne and her husband Craig Duplisea of Garland, and Laurie Caisse and companion Mark Vigue of East Corinth, and one son Dominick and his wife Paula of Columbus, Georgia; 4 grandchildren, and one great grand-daughter, 2 brothers, Francis and his wife Barbara of Sangerville and Zephyrhills, FL., Robert and his wife Lorraine of East Corinth, and one sister, Mary "Vann" Drew of Sangerville.

Our mother, with her indomitable and unquenchable spirit that sparkled in her beautiful brow eyes, her infectious laughter and sense of humor, her sweetness and love of knowledge and words will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her great faith and her love of God got her through many trying times, including the loss of her mother in 1969, the loss of her first born son Joseph (Jody), also in 1969, and the death of her beloved father in 1988.

Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Maine Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at St. Annes Church, Dexter, with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Spring Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Dexter Healthcare patient Activity Fund, 64 Park Street, Dexter 04930.

MARION A. DEAG
DEXTER - Marion A. Deag, 91, died January 23, 1999 at her Charleston Road residence. She was born August 30, 1907 at Dexter the daughter of Horace and Alphonsine (Giguere) Poulin, She was communicant of St. Annes Catholic Church in Dexter and had been employed for 42 years at Amos Abbott Company in Dexter. She was married to Joseph A. Deag, who predeceased her in 1981.

She is survived be 1 son, J. Alfred Deag, and his wife Helen, of Haddam, CT; 4 sisters, Edith Garrison of Dexter, Elizabeth Dorman of Methuen MA. Geraldine Beaulieu of West Warwick, RI, and Jeanette Swan of Clinton; 2 grandchildren, Lucinda Schulte of Durham, CT, ans Russell Deag of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 5 great grandchildren, Beth and Victoria Purro, Ja-Nette Walden, Lucinda and Elizabeth Deag, 2 great great grandchildren, Nathan Hargrove and Christina Walden; a special nephew and his wife, David and Margie Garrison of Dexter. She was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Michael Deag and Lisa Logozzo.

Friends may call 7-9 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Tuesday at St. Annes Church with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Spring burials will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

ZETTA C. POST
DEXTER - Zetta C. Post 63, died January 23, 1999 at her Upper Garland Road residence. She was born November 29, 1935 at East Corinth the daughter of Andrew and Marion (Richards) Martin. Zetta worked at Dexter Shoe Company for many years. She was a past member of the American legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to dance, fish and spend time with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Russell Bussell of Corinna, Laurie Thody of Dexter, Maverine and husband Larry Fish of Garland, and Amie Post of Dexter; 7 sister, Angnes, Rowena, Mona, Nellie, Gertrude, Mattie, and Zelma; 2 brothers, Harold and Ralph, 31 grandchildren; many nieces and nephew.

Friends may call 2 -4 & 6 - 7 PM Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral service will be held 7 PM Wednesday with Rev. Jay Brennan of the First Baptist Church of Dexter officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

MARGARET E. DAIGLE
DEXTER, ME and BEVERLY, MASS. – Margaret Ellen Daigle, 67, died unexpectedly January 22, 1999 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born January 28, 1931 at Danvers, Mass., the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Shirey) Hopkins. Mrs. Daigle was a homemaker and great lover of flowers.

Surviving are her husband, Robert F. Daigle of Dexter; sons, Robert T. Daigle of Dexter, Paul M. Daigle and his wife Mary of Ossipee, NH, Richard A. Daigle and his wife Sandra of Dexter; a sister, Barbara J. O'Brien of Dexter; 1 brother Thomas P. Hopkins of Salem, Mass.; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Robert and Sarah Daigle; many nieces and nephews.

M. PRISCILLA SMALL
TOPSHAM - Mary Priscilla Small, 88, died Jan 12, 1999 at a local nursing care facility. She was born May 26, 1910 in Tunbridge VT the daughter of Alden and Mattie (Bell) Small.

She is survived by One brother, William H. Small of Bowdionham , one sister, Bessy Kuhn of CA, and several nieces and nephews.
